Unpleasent and unprofessionell checkin. There is a hygene certifcate from 2020 on reception desk but it looks line from an ancient age dirty. Street noise is directöy coming to room. Bad isolation.
Good location. Nice clean hotel. Reasonable price
Good location. Nice clean hotel. Reasonable price
Nice location close to the shopping street and subway.
Vienna in five days!
Room was very basic but comfortable. Staff was helpful and professional. Close to many restaurants. Hop-on Hop-off stop right outside hotel lobby was very handy.
Excellent
No options for a different breakfast, only for a buffet style
Good price and good location
The room was ok, it appeared clean. It would have been good for the drinking glasses to be cleaned/replaced. The bed was comfortable for the price you paid. However there was no kettle to boil water. There was also no safe so the room did not feel secure.
Great location (once I worked out the quickest walking route and how to avoid the roadworks!) Room facilities good - no complaints.
Great hotel
Never treat your guests like this
The check in was awful. I have managed hotel receptions and I currently work for a company that books travel and accommodation and I have never seen anything like it. If that is how the staff treat guests, they are in the wrong job. The room needed some attention and the traffic noise was grim. Barely got any sleep at all. Based on the service and the sleep factor, this hotel is grossly overpriced for what it offers. I could never recommend this property.
Convenient and affordable accommodation with plenty of food and transport options within walking distance.
The staff and hotel were great. It was very hot in the room, during the winter, due to absolutely no air flow without the window open. However, being on the front side of the hotel, you’re on the main road, so it was incredibly loud with traffic and construction going on ALL night. Bring ear plugs. Other than being noisey, it is a great place to stay!
It was a nice hotel well located for Vienna and all it’s sights breakfast was great 👍
Not enough lighting in the room and the carpet was very dirty
Chose this hotel based on price and other good reviews. It’s a nice hotel, a bit basic but comfortable and good for what you pay. I had a 9th floor connecting apartment with a bedroom and lounge area (that I presume converts to another bed) with great views over the city. Loads of room for a solo traveller. Despite it snowing the room was lovely and warm and the bed was comfy. Coffee pods were provided (no tea for the Brits!!) and a couple of bottles of water. Smart TV was all German but could stream Netflix from my phone. I ate in the restaurant once, which was delicious and decent portion sizes. I also spent one evening in the small bar which was nice and well priced. I was visiting for the Christmas Markets. Had a 72hr travel pass and there was a tram stop right outside the hotel, the HOHO bus stopped at the door and the U3 line and Westbahnhof station were a 5 minute walk away. Or it was a 40 minute walk to the city centre down the Mariahilferstrasse shopping street. Very convenient. It was a great base for what I wanted to do at a price I was comfortable paying. I would stay here again.
Great location for main shopping street, took train from the station 4 euros each and used the underground the rest of the way to the hotel, was easy. wanted 65 euros for airport based taxi ride. Taking advantage of tourists. Hotel is fine. Breakfast has a good selection of cold buffet it’s the hot food that’s not great but it’s handy so used it for our stay. Used the hotel for dinner twice about 15 euros each and was good, tried the goulash which lovely, bar is decent too and not expensive, on the whole I did not find Vienna anymore expensive then any other big city I’ve been too including the UK Worth a visit
Ibis Wien Mariahilf is a nice hotel in a central location. It is close to the underground and in area with lots of shops and restaurants. The staff is nice and helpful. Rooms are also really comfortable with nice views. Breakfasts are not bad either. Highly recommended!
I was in room 1006 x5 nights. The location was perfect, very walkable with good public transportation. I felt very safe walking around even after nightfall. I didn't choose the breakfast option so I can't account for that. The room was very spacious, shower floor was a bit slippery so I made use of the safety handle. The only downside: the sink would back up when I brushed my teeth and nobody wants to see that. All in all, the view from my room made the sink problem ok. I would definitely recommend!
Very welcoming lobby and staff. The breakfast was excellent and worth the price.
Mr. Escobar helped me when I arrived. He wasn’t friendly. Also he assigned me a room with an AC that didn’t work. Next morning I asked a cleaning staff lady and she called for repair. A worker came and apparently fixed the AC but still didn’t work. I was too tired and wanted to focus my time getting around the city rather than complaining and wasting time. Will never comeback to this hotel. On the other side, most employees are friendly and helpful. Breakfast food wasn’t the best. I also had dinner at the restaurant and dinner has good
Very clean, quiet with spacious room. Got on an airport bus and 2 stops and I was in the area 5 minutes walk to the hotel. 3 stops of U3 to get to city centre. Very convenient. Didn’t have breakfast there so can’t comment
Likes Good views of the city skyline from the higher level rooms Conveniently located close to WESTBahnhof Mariahilferstrasser, Vienna’s most famous shopping street is nearby Easy to get around by train or on foot to explore around vicinity. Dislikes - old style air-conditioning/cooling system is not responsive - The ibis current hotel and room decor are a little dated (looks like 70’s/80’s style). It could be updated to the new ibisSTYles standard to attract more customers, given its location and size of the premises.
Na
Great location! Nice staff. My room keys stopped working a few times but it was easy enough to get a new one from the staff! Loved my stay
VIENNA
the only issue was no safe in room and air con unit did not cool the room overall room was ok and clean beds comfy and shower worked well close to the tram and station overall good value for money and would use again
This hotel is located near the Westbahnhof and shopping street that leads from the Westbahnhof direction city center. Hotel is in a good condition, room was clean and bed comfortable. Just bathroom could be a little bit larger. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. We will stay again here once visit the beautiful Vienna next time.
excellent team just Perfect
The air conditioner isn't working properly.. The room service didn't come to clean the rooms
Great for a short trip
I've stayed at the Ibis a number times before so know it would be clean we'd get a good breakfast. We weren't disappointed.
perfect location
My second stay here and I’ll stay again next time I’m in Vienna. Location is excellent, room simple but clean with everything you need, very generous breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff.
Time here has gone here too quickly.
Amazing
Helpful staff and a good breakfast buffet.
Parking awful, screeched my car descending from parking and too small.
Good Value
Overall OK place to stay. Our purpose being in Vienna was to visit the christmas markets, that were all possible to walk to (20-40minutes), or a short Uber Staff were friendly and helpful. You get what you pay for so no complaints. Rooms were clean and warm, although the road noise in the rooms facing the church was very noisy. Did not read the room details with enough care. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Amazing hostess
Comfort convenience and affordable
Very good ..comfortable and convenient ..wine and beer served ok but could be better...but a super choice anyway
The location was great! The staff is really nicd and helpful. Room cozy and clean. Totally recommend.
Every thing is good 👍
De ligging. Kort bij openbaar vervoer. Wegens corona werden de kamers niet gepoetst
Not sure if I will return.
It was acceptable.
One ofyhe most unhelpful
The location is great, the room was small but had a coffee machine in it. Also the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is missing a personal touch, but it was good experience overall.
Gre hotel
Perfect hotrl. Great location. Just put refregrator and it will be perfect
VAL 1 AIRPORT BUS SO NEAR THE HOTEL, THE MARIAHILFSTRABE SO NEXT TO THE HOTEL, ROOMS BIG, COSY AND DAILY HOYSEKEEPING.NO MINI BAR OR ANY OTHER AMENITIES
Good value hotel
Great hotel in a great location near the shopping street Mariahilfer. The museums and Stephan platz are about an hour of pleasant walk. We received 2 quite large rooms for 3. One of the rooms was facing the Main Street so very noisy at all hours. The other room facing a back street was less noisy. No amenities in the room except for soap. The bathroom seems dated, a bit of mold in the shower and the shower doors are in need of replacing. But overall we had a great stay. The breakfast is wonderful with plenty of variety. We had a great stay!
Staff very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast good
Near the tram and it is easy to get around. The room is clean and comfortable. If you are a light sleeper, make sure your room is not facing the street because you can hear the tram noice.
I like everything, frendly staff, good location, cleanest
Good for traveling
Small parking lots. Owerall all was great.
Comfy room
The room was getting cleaned everyday. Very comfy beds. The reception person I dealt with when checking in wasn’t the friendliest person you can meet but nothing bad.
A good deal
very close to train station and nice room
Location is perfect, but rooms are not clean, they really need renovation
Value for money
Location is good. Close to Westbahnhof and U Bahn. Just few mins walk to shopping street. There are lots of restaurants. However, compared to other places of Ibis Hotel. This Ibis is in a old condition.
First day in Vienna
Good hotel very friendly staff,, the best in this hotel is the view is just amazing,, we were in the 12 floor & our room has a great view
Rude Receptionist
The receptionist who checked us in Mr Escobar was very rude and unhelpful . He began our interaction with arrogance and contempt , then did the bare minimum when answering our questions and seemed uninterested and bored in his work . This really made us feel uncomfortable and soured the beginning of our visit to Vienna entirely .
Clean beds with minimal toilettries. WestBahn station about 5 min walk away that Has variety of food outlets.
Yes
Thank you for all
The location was great and walkable but there was no facilities in the room such as safe box or kettle.
Short but enjoyable stay
Two things I liked about this hotel - location and staff! Just across a tram stop and right around the corner of Westbanhof and Mariahilferstrasse. Well, staff is superb. Special shoutout to Markus who was really helpful to our group during check-in. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!
AC was broken in this hot days
so we got a room for 3 and bath room was small but water pressure and water temperature was really good! I really like it. but the AC was broken so I called the front and they said “oh sure we’ll bring you the other AC” they didn’t even tell us when we checked in about the broken AC but they knew it was broken. and what they brought to our room was a small fan. of course it doesn’t help! we stayed 2 nights and it was no good. just too hot and humid in the room. if I knew they don’t have AC working in the room I wouldn’t book in the first place. it was way too expensive to stay without the AC. they could’ve change our room too. I’m very disappointed.
Its Hotel just outside of town with a tram and Metro station to get where you want to get to. Great room, great restaurant and freindly staff with high speed internet. What more you need?
The hotel was value for money. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly.Public transport of all kinds and airport bus next to the hotel. Unfortunately the hotel is located in a very run down area of Vienna which did shock me!
Uncomfortable underlay
Uncomfortable underlay could hardly get to sleep cause of it all being crinkled up
The staff were excellent, as was breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable. The noise from the road made sleeping a bit difficult and it wasn't as central as I would have wished.
Clean and convenient , great location to transportation and foods
Good hotel near Westbahnhof in Vienna
A good choice for a hotel near Westbahnhof. Rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable. Convenient for dining and transport
Super clean and spacious. Great staff.great location
It was clean, simple, cheap and friendly. On the downside the WiFi didn't work! You could connect but it was so slow you couldn't even load gmail.
Overall good experience, good location and clean facilities
Great Location for Transportation
The Tram Station is right in front of the hotel (though Google says 60 meters). It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the city center where all tourist sites are. The Hop-on Hop-of bus stop is at the front door of this hotel, which is very convenient for sightseeing if you buy a ticket. I did buy a two-day ticket online which gives 20% discount. I needed an adapter plug for US, and they did loan one for a deposit of 20 euros. There are two computer stations with a printer, and this was very convenient for printing tickets, etc. One of the guys at the front desk was very helpful whenever there were any computer issues. WiFi was good. The only negative I can think of was a lack of hot water kettle in the room which I found to be available in most comparable hotels in that part of the world.
The hotel was very cleaned and we loved staff over there. The part that we didn’t like was not having the fridge.
grsat staying
The location is perfect - only 4 min walkibg to mariahilf street and the mettro station. The staff was very helpful. I'd like to thank you for the room upgrade and the birthday decoration you did. It was something we won't forget!!!
The room is pretty small with very limited facilities
The hoel was excellent. It was 55 subway stops from city centre, very easy to use. The room was clean and quiet. The only complaint would be the elevators in the morning. There were guests from bus tours checking out 2 of the 3 mornings. We found that we had to wait for a few elevators before there was room for us to be able to enter (we were on the 12th floor)
Not too bad
the bathroom drain is congested, staff was polite enough to explain the details and open the windows. card sensor was not very sensitive, have to walk up and down twice to get the card read into the room.
Tram Station is just opposite the hotels. 2 supermarket a walking distance. Just a basic hotel no mini bars or kettle
Noisy room beacause of Mariahilfe Straße closeness was the only problem, but wonderfull breakfast.
Excellent service and location! Will only stay here whenever in Vienna.
A small fridge in the room would have made it a perfect stay. The AC was not efficient, but it was warmer than usual during my stay.
Good place for backpackers
Nice hotel near the central station
It took me only 5-10 minutes walking from Central Station to Ibis hotel, it's very convenient. The triple beds room are bigger than I expected, it's quite spacious, overall it's neat and tidy.
Lack of hot drinking water facilities
Convenient, a kettle in the room would be good. Walking distance into town
Fine but smokey
Facilities were fine but the lobby was filled with second hand smoke.
While not in city centre - this easily reached by subway
Big hotel close to center and public transport
Our stay was very pleasant. The staff spoke good English and were very welcoming. We could leave our luggage before check-in (and before checkout) so we didn't lose any of our time in Vienna. Unlike other places, the luggage was marked, so the chances of someone leaving with ours, was slim to none. The room was clean and everything was in good working order. We received a room on the 12th floor (1209), facing the street/church. This is where the only minus comes in. As you can read in other reviews, the street is very noisy (car traffic, tram and train). It's true that the window does not seal very tightly, but even if it did, I doubt it would make a huge difference. The glass itself is one huge sheet, so it probably carries sound with relative ease. Being the one who slept in the small bed near the window, the noise woke me up early. My wife and little girl though, had no problem sleeping even after the traffic got heavier at about 7am. The room was cleaned daily, toilet paper added, towels left on the floor changed with fresh ones, and the beds were made. My daughter's pajamas and teddy bear, were nicely placed on the pillow when we came back. It was a sweet picture.
Comfortable stay
It was OK
Reception staff rude and non cooperative.
A very ordinary place. We did not go with great expectations either. It was just a night halt. But reception staff was rude.
I stayed at the hotel foe two nights, Overall, this is a nice hotel to stay with a great location if you're touring Wien. The reception stuff was very kind and helpful, they even didn't charge me on a local call I've made from my room due to it's low price (about 18 euro cents) - a thing that surprise me when I wanted to pay at check out and was very much appreciated. A VERY huge minus was that the reception stuff at the first night (May the 4th) connect one of the hotel guest to my room telephone in the middle of the night and by doing so, it took away my privacy and I was concerned to my safety that night (the next night I'd unplugged the phone so I won't get anymore interruptions). That is unthinkable for a hotel! Never happened to me before!
It was perfect
Bad condition
The condition is terrible, the curtains with a lot of dust, the carpet is disgusting, the ac no work well, the Keys some times work and no work, the mattress and pillow no good. It is too expensive for this type of hotel. Only the view very nice.
A good low-cost variant
It was my second stay at Ibis Mariahilf. The price and location were good (close to metro and Mariahilferstrasse). The beds were extremely comfortable, especially the pillows! The room was not very cozy, there were no fridge & safebox.
Not good at all
Awkward room. Very less light. TV was on desk means you have to sit in bathroom to watch TV. Room no 119
Vienna
Hotel is right near the main west train station, underground rail and tram line. Nearby shopping is also excellent. It is large with good facilities, comfortable and very well run.
Near the metro
Good location near restaurants. Close to metro station that gives you access to all of Vienna. Good breakfast at small extra cost. Wifi was a little weak.
Excellent location, comfortable and efficient.
The usual Ibis standard ut the hotel could do with an upgrade. Room was fine, comfortable and well laid out but there was some black mound around the shower. The hotel staff were helpful enough but a little abrupt and stopped short of being welcoming. Maybe this is because it’s a big city? There is a tram stop just outside the door and the Westbahnhoff station a 5 minute walk away so very convenient!
Incredible location, great staff, very comfortable
The location of this hotel is perfect for sightseeing and as a home base for a visit to the city. Across the street from the train station and a short walk to major shopping street and museums. Clean and quiet, easy to access, room large for Europe. The hallways are outdated and could be brighter.
Clean and comfortable
Comfortable and clean hotel in a good location for sight-seeing in Vienna.
Roasting Rooms and Poor Ibis Experience :-(
+ Front Desk and Reception was friendly and Welcoming + Breakfast is very tasty but far too expensive + Nice views from the window. - The air conditioning was not working correctly and the rooms were very hot. The air conditioning control system flashes all night long. Highly Annoying! - The breakfast was incredibly expensive - The room is in need of updating. - The shower and bathroom is tiny, it is almost impossible to fit into the shower - The area had a number of unsavory characters outside near to the hotel that made you feel uncomfortable. - The hotel takes a lot of coach party bookings and is very busy. So busy that you can wait for a lift for a very long time. I waited nearly 10 minutes for a lift on a couple of ocassions - Not to the normal high Ibis standards I expect.
