The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very quiet and clean. The only negative I would say is vegetarian options for breakfast. But apart from that pleasant stay

The hotel is located by the main shopping estate in the area, not exactly in Cognac but easy enough to drive into Cognac on one straight road. Wifi is not very well connected. I used it in the common dining area. Breakfast is fine. Parking is ample. Communal kettle by the entrance did not go down well for me. I have to fetch water from my room to fill the kettle and boil it in the public area. Not great value for money but is acceptable and adequate for a stopover.

Comfortable clean and quiet

Cheap, but clean and comfortable.

Simply a nice comfortable room. Nothing amazing, but also not expensive. Walking distance to a few places for food etc. Good pit stop on a drive down to Southern France... Breakfast was a bit rubbish - typical unhealthy fatty bacon/sausage and powdered scrabbled eggs with a selection of pastries freshly thawed from a freezer.

Basic but nice

Clean comfortable rooms. Staff were nice when around. Maybe just because it was off season but a bit hard finding staff to order food / drinks in the evening. Restaurant food a bit average, seemed like premade dishes just heated up. Right in outskirts of city, not much around on a evening but convenient for us as working in Jarnac which is just a short drive. Pool outside only so not usable in winter.

For a family of four it covered all the essentials. Hotel and rooms have been updated but still looked a little tired. Staff were great and friendly. Hotel location is in an industrial suburban part of town and far enough from downtown Cognac that you need to take the car to find a restaurant. Breakfast was included and it was delicious.

Good budget family hotel

Good budget hotel for families as a stop over. It has plenty of facilities including table football, pool table, board games, a relaxing bar / outdoor seating by the lovely swimming pool. Staff were welcoming but struggled as only a single person was running the reception and bar. Great buffet breakfast! Plenty of parking. Bedroom was fine but a bit cramped for a family and the bathroom could have been cleaner. Restaurant menu was limited. Location was a little far out of town so had to drive to enjoy a town centre restaurant.

Great place to stay near Cognac

The hotel is very comfortable with good facilities. The room was extremely spacious and comfortable, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was great with a lot of choice of foods / drinks. The hotel was ideally located for us a few minutes from the centre of Cognac.

Good value but out of town location

Very, very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room which was a decent size. Has a nice pool but no sunshades next to the pool. Breakfast was quite good. Car parking on site and free WiFi. No tea or coffee making facilities in room but there are facilities 24/7 at reception. No safe in the room for valuables, but this is only a 3 star hotel so you can’t have everything. The hotel is quite a long way outside the lovely town of Cognac but it’s a nice hotel and good value for money. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel, half hours walk to centre.

I'm a motorcyclist so I wanted a hotel that would be safe for bike. this was some 35 minutes walk to the centre, and was well placed for getting to Jarnac and Niort before and after stay. staff were excellent, bed very comfy, nice and quiet location, good breakfast, and food available in the restaurant or theres a Buffalo Grill next door. Also local shops, Auchan, Lidl etc

Pleasant Stopover

We're on a halfway stopover from St Malo to Spain with Friends and young children. Staff were very obliging, pool was very refreshing in 30 degree heat and the reception hooked us up with an excellent value posh car service that got us to town and back for a reasonable amount. I'd stay here again and I would recommend to friends. Make the effort to go into Cognac. The restaurants there are much nicer.

horrible smell in corridor, pool dirty

Room was fine, however clearly was a damp problem on floor 3 so a fan emitting a scent to mask the problem was running in the corridor, approaching my room. The smell was revolting! [Suggestion: wedge all the room doors & windows open, rather than use thie fan gadget!] Additionally, the pool surface was dirty as the filters were inadequate to clean the leaves, debris & dust blown onto the pool [I acknowledge it WAS a windy day] - but I booked the hotel because it had a pool - and I just couldn't face using it

Good basic amenities and good value but very difficult to find! We asked 3 locals and none had ever heard of it! Needs much better directions.

Partly dated rooms but ok overall

I stayed the night here after booking with Hotels.com with two colleagues of mine. We were met with friendly staff and the rooms were a good standard although a little dated. All with key locks but with some bathroom updates such as a good sink, good shower pressure. We went out for local dinner and the breakfast was buffet style. The pool looked nice, but unfortunately we had no time to make use of it. On booking out, the computer system was down and we left card details for the breakfast if required. Unfortunately we were all charged fully (for the rooms) on each of our cards. One call to Hotels.com got this straightened out although the transaction times slowed the process. To summarise, a nice hotel which would benefit from further updates all round. I would stay again.

Basic hotel okay for one night en route

Hotel easy to find with GPS, on high traffic road into Cognac. Location just 10 minutes from center of old town and close to distilleries. Room was clean. Shower only. Hallways drab. Extremely hard mattress.

great for overnight stop

This hotel was adequate for an overnight stop. The staff were lovely, there is a outdoor swimming pool which was a bonus, the kids loved it. The decor in rooms and corridors need updating with a view to use a warmer colour scheme.

Not all Mercure Hotels come up to standard.

Room was tired looking. Doors were old and wanted painting. Bathroom fixtures and fittings mediocre. Standard of the bathroom floor was poor. Not the sort of standard I would expect from a group as big as Accor. In my opinion the whole hotel was in need of a total makeover. I would not stay in this hotel again, neither would I recommend this hotel to any of my friends.

Mercure - Cognac

Very disappointed with this hotel, considering it is part of the Mercure brand. There was no restaurant facility, although breakfast was excellent

Hotel suffering from Winter blues?

A lovely region of France and we wanted a central location for touring around the Charente. However, this was early December and sadly, the hotel was rather too empty and souless. We were situated out on the ring road so nothing special to impress.. We went to try the bar/restaurant on our first evening and no-one was around, A nice chap at reception suggested a dismal Buffalo Grill within walking distance, or a trip down to central Cognac about 5 mins away. It was a shame there was nothing better in a 3 star Mecure hotel. We didn't bother with breakfast in the morning so can't say if there was more happening in the restaurant then! With so few guests around, it would have been a rather dull start to the day. We headed downtown and found an attractive cafe instead! Perhaps we should have stayed in a more central spot in Cognac and not been marooned in an almost empty hotel for three nights! It would have saved us money too.

En transit en direction du sud, nous avons pu nous reposer convenablement pour finir la route en pleine forme. L’hôtel est confortable, calme et agréable. L’offre petit déjeuner variée et très plaisante. Gros bémol sur la restauration ce soir là en tout cas… un pizza cuite mais pas sa viande qui restait froide. Après deux passage au micro-onde, la pizza devenait mangeable mais loin d’être bonne. J’ai en plus senti un peu de moquerie de la part du personnel suite à ma double réclamation…

Personnel très agréable mais hôtel trop bruyant, ma chambre etait située à côté de l ascenseur, ce bruit n a pas cessé jusqu à minuit et m a réveillé à 5H45, je ne me suis pas reposée, la journée a été longue.

Hôtel à recommander. Seul le petit déjeuner propose des viennoiseries et du pain très médiocres comme dans tous les hôtels de la chaîne mais là c’est très médiocre. En revanche le café est bien supérieur à la majorité de ces hôtels. Personnel très aimable

Nous n'avons passé qu'une nuit dans cet hôtel (étape) mais nous avons vraiment apprécié ce moment. Bien situé, confortable, une piscine propre et agréable. Le personnel est très accueillant, souriant, aimable et à l'écoute (c'est devenu assez rare, alors ça se souligne). Je recommande chaudement.

Rapporto qualità prezzo un po’ basso ma nulla di particolarmente negativo. Camere forse un po’ datate ma colazione eccellente rispetto ad altre strutture di pari livello. Parcheggio ok.
