It was an amazing stay and as name under accord group IBIS is well maintained cozy and pleasent stay... Suggestions if they can improve breakfast menu.

Rundown Hotel

The reception staff was not friendly. The room was very run down e.g the entrance door was broken, the wall in the hotel was dirty, the bedsheet also old and seem not change from the previous stay. The breakfast food was not nice at all.

Staff is wonderful at this property. Very friendly, polite, professional. Thanks to the team and their excellent attitudes and hospitality, this was not a complete disappointment. I can NOT be the first to point out how bad the physical state of this property is. If I had not pre-paid, I would have stayed elsewhere after seeing the room. FILTHY! Bathroom had the vague smell of sewage. Mold was in the shower and around the sink. Floor was not clean. Bed linen was HORRIBLE! Towels smelled after slight wetness like drying hands. Nothing other than floor towel and bath towel provided, but ONLY after requesting them. Bleach needs to be used and linen needs to be replaced periodically. Whatever year this property was opened was likely the only time anything was replaced or renovated. Everything at the Ibis Semarang Hotel needs to be replaced, but this will not happen because as stated before many others MUST have made similar obsevations in the past, yet the property is still aweful. I wish I had the foresight to have checked. Accor should be embarassed and should do the right thing. Will they? Why have they not yet done anything?

that was bad experience to stay in there. location is very good. but...toilet not clean, towel too. many small ants on d table in my room even no food in there. finally, when breakfast time... variants of food not many choise, d taste was standard, n ddidntbhas brown sugar. saya tidak akan back to here for next time, if d cobdition still like that.

Facilities now becoming a bit old and run down however it is still decent for a night or two.. Location is good few minutes away from simpang lima area, walking distsnce to convenient store. Staff was friendly and helpful

It was great hotel when we were stay there. But the television seems to brighty and unconfortable to watch. Need to change with better quality television.

Love it!

Spent one night staying at this place. Wasn't too eager to book here at first, as I was a bit disappointed with its sister company in Yogyakarta. But I took the chance and was pleasantly surprised. While the TV was too small (compared to other hotels in the same price range), overall the room was satisfactory. The linens smelled fresh, clean, enough space to move around (esp. when you have kids in tow). I'm mostly impressed by the little detail often overlooked by other hotels: the cleanliness of shower stall. In this case, they remember to wipe those soap scums off the glass wall, and I really, REALLY appreciate that. There's nothing more aggravating staying in a hotel with dirty linens and dingy bathroom. But this place stood above that. If there's a suggestion for improvement I can give, I'd say, I'd love to see more toiletries in the bathroom (shampoo, toothbrush,etc). Not that I didn't pack my own, but sometimes there are travelers who, for whatever reason, would need them in emergency. I definitely would love to come back, and refer this place to friends.

Ideal location

In general it was OK because location is close to places we like to visit and also seems to be value for money but there are a few things that I like to add: 1. The eating place for breakfast & lunch was not too large (maybe 15 x 10 sqm but it was divided into two sections, smoking and non-smoking which was smelly for us who doesn't smoke; our soap dispenser did not work properly even after being 'fixed'; towels was not in their best condition and more on the worn side, service is OK but acceptable.

My stay at Ibis Semarang

Overall is OK coz it is value for money. Downside of the stay: Soap dispenser was not working properly and the towels was a bit worn and not in the best condition and there weren't any gym facility. Upside things: Location is very strategic and close by to an area good for exercise and close to local foods.

Location, amenities & service

This is a great place to stay. Good price, convenient location for shopping, dining and touring historic Semarang (Kota Lama China Town). Friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast bar and free cable internet to the room was a great extra! Will stay again when next in this town full of history.

We stayed at the Ibis Semarang Simpang Lima for 2 nights in July 2010. It is in a convenient location adjacent to a nice mall with a convenient food court in the basement. The hotel had free cable connection for your computer and it was great. The staff was so friendly and helpful especially the restaurant/bar staff. Had a great world cup spread and 2 big screens. Couldn't find better for the price and would stay there again.

Great location

The location is really convenient as the hotel is located in Simpang Lima where we could find big shopping malls. The room was clean and quite spacious, but the TV was definitely too small and there was poor TV reception on all movie channels (it's still fine as we didn't go there for watching television). Among all the ibis hotels that we have been to, this one is relatively basic, but it's still worth the price. The breakfast was only mediocre which only served a limited food variety.
