Very good location, easy to walk around to the tourist spots.
Convenient and quiet place
Macau escapade
My rating for this is high, accessible to transportation, restaurants, groceries, and tourist spots. Quiet and clean. The only thing is that the bed is not conducive to rest and sleep.
Good location, can walk around to the tourism areas.
All good
The stars are not that good. The hotel room smelled really bad like sewage and humidity, mixed with smoke. That is the main issue. It was over pried for what it was as well. If you get it for $50 or less then not bad for a hotel in that range. Macau is very small this is in a local residential area next to a very busy street, but easy to walk to many areas although that can be said about almost any location in Macau. Also it does not have a separate show is one of the ones where the shower toilet and sink are all in the same room. This was their more deluxe room. So was not a good location, but I can live with that, was very small again I can live with that. Smelled like raw sewage and smoke that was not at all pleasant. Was over priced for what it was.
Give this a miss!
No windows in room - not even mentioned at online booking. Bathroom was dirty like it hadn’t been cleaned. Beds extremely hard.
Quite nice for the low budget, no need to go somewhere else
Best hotel best price
Best price for 4 of us , and very nice and clean Don’t waist your money on the expensive hotels
Poor management. The staff didn’t inform us before they would like to change our room to a smaller one. We found that our stuff was being moved after we having dinner outside. The staff allowed other customers entered our room without prior notice, and we found that our own slippers were stolen by the customers entered our room. It is unacceptable that the hotel make this mistake and the hotel didn’t take proper action for following up. Not suggested to stay in here.
Room is spacious enough for 1 person, though the staff are a bit cool
The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was ideal in terms of proximity to sites, shopping, and bus stops.
this is a budget hotel. For the price, the room condition is consider ok. The location is good which is 1-2mins walk from the bus stop which the bus can take you to and from Airport which cost MOP/HKD 6 only. You can walk to Senado Square and Ruins of St Paul from the hotel in 10-15mins.
Old mattress
Matress needs to replace. I had a backache after two days slept on the matress.
The place was under construction with loud noises above the room during the day and into the early evening. Otherwise the location is good
Bed Mattress must change.
The bed is very hard to sleep. Not comfort at all. The bed mattress doesn't represent a nice comfort hotel to stay.
Good than expected.
The hotel is across the street from Ponte 16. Very convenient and near to the famous almond cookie shop and Rua Da Felicidade. I realised I left behind my white blouse there after checking out. I returned to the hotel 3 days later to enquire about it. The receptionist said the housekeeping staff picked it up and left it at the reception but she was not able to find it. Very disappointed.
Pretty close to the central point. Location is quite convenient.
Very good location....
The location and cost of room was fantastic. We had a problem with the A/C, and maintenance was sent over to fix it right away. The cleaning staff is nice. The biggest problem with this room are the beds. You might as well put a comforter on the floor to sleep on because they are so hard. My sister found extra blankets in the closet to lay on the bed, and it was still really hard.
They don't speak English very well and there's no bottled water in our room.
excellent for everything. very friendly and helpfull staffs. No complaint at all
Under renovation dust and service lift .. we have to walk up to 5th floor .The room I book for 4 and costly. Not worth it
Affordable
Affordable, fast booking
Ok
Can manage
The place was very good and the staff are friendly..
For the price i paid ,it is not worth it. No coffee , was given one key card, hallway is too tiny and it has this distinct smell .. it is close to old macau st.. i booked at hotel S and there was no cash deposit. While hotel ho koung has which is pretty upseting.. coz there amenities doesnt satisfy me.. not cheap for price but the service was..
The property is near the tourist attractions, walking distance only. The room is clean and newly renovated. Don't expect that the room size is big but the space is enough so you can move freely and comfortably. The price is reasonable. There are few restaurants of different cuisines around. For those who are looking for a place to stay that is affordable, comfortable and accessible, i highly recommend this hotel.
Great location and good staff
Hotel is near Ruins of St. Paul and Senado Square. Overall, great value for money.

Good excess for transportation & nice location.
I have been there for two days. Direct bus from the airport to this hotel. rooms are small but it's ok at this price in Macau. when I was there AC was not properly cooling the room. we didn't feel hot but it was not like AC was working. and Toilet doesn't have Jet in there only Toilet paper is available. location is nice.
hou kong hotel
Hotel location is near to the famous landmarks. but it is a bit hard to actually find the hotel when we walked from the nearest casino. overall not bad.
Dirty.got big spider
Smooth transaction. Accessible and comfortable. Would recommend to friends and would also consider booking again in the future.
We were told we were too loud but the nearby rooms were louder and there was constant construction we were not told about - the place had heaps of cockroaches, the shower was tiny, and the toilet was moving and wasn’t fixed to the floor
Rooms too dirty ,bugs .flywood bed very hard Smell in the room is so terrible Will never go there
is a good place to stay in. Very nice and helpful staffs, especially Ah Mei. Keep it up👍 Recommended~~~
Staff are friendly and helpful. Nice place and near to tourist sites.
Horrible and dirty
Very dirty area and stinky. I booked 3 days but I couldn't stay longer I moved other hotel. This hotel very horrible. I don't recommend to anyone.
Need more clean.
The room we take was quite new, but have dust from many days on the decoration of the wall. The place for take shower is terrible small, then, is more easy and safe take shower outside the basin.
Cheap price for weekdays only, 5 – 10 mins walking distance to downtown, a little bit remote to other facilities. The bathroom is terrible with an extremely tiny bath, which is almost unable to stand inside; the bath curtain is very dirty that you don’t want to touch it at all; water on the floor is unable to drain properly that keeps your floor always wet.
very good hotel and location is good
very quick to check in and check out.room is clean and okey for my family(3adults) they give us good size of bed.Very accessible going to The Town just few mins walking distance. Thank u Hotel.com
we enjoy our stay. thank you
Location is great. It's close to a lot of tourist spots
Hotel location is good because it's near senado square and Se Cathedral
Hou Gong Hotel - Away from the crowd
Hotel looked run down and the room are all right. Noted they have 3 single beds or 4 in a room as well. Water provided and housekeeping done daily. Sofitel casino and harbor cruise within walking distance. Senado Square and new Yaohan shopping centre can walk there. Got Michelin star Chinese dim sum restaurant near by. Many shops saying local Macau products.
Good location. Hoping for a better customer service.
reception speaks good english. they are helpful and accommodating.
Cleanliness is terrible!!
Cleanliness is terrible! Do have small cockroach in the room. We manage to change the room, overall is ok except cleanliness.
There are bugs in the bed. Make up bed can be anytime. Never replace towel after cleaning rooms.
Just OK
It was OK, but nothing special. No real problems, but not worth the price they charged. Some good small restaurants in the street behind the hotel.
The location is good. Near convenience stores, bus stops and walking distance to senado and ruins. There's a strong water supply and wifi is very fast. Hassle-free check-in/out. Would gladly recommend to friends
Front Desk Agents are very accommodating! Room is clean however, some parts of the hotel need cleaning :)
The English speaking person in the reception. They were very good in giving advices.
The hotel is very near to Senado Square and bus stop. Hence, it is very convenient. The staff is good and friendly. The hotel is clean. Next time to visit Macau, I will come back.
comfy and cozy
It was comfortable to stay there and economical. It's worth it .I highly recommend this hotel!
Too scared to even check-in. The area looks if it’s a brothel.
The bed is so hard i think there is a piece of plywood covered with a thin sheet and also the wifi is very slow
Staff was alright, not the smiliest really. The linens had stains on but also bleached stains so maybe they're clean but still not reassuring to see that. Was very swift in extending our stay when we had made a mistake of booking 1 more night. Decoration was quite nice since renovation. Plugs just above bed which was really convenient.
CNYE!!!
cost saver hotel accommodation..
Very good budget hotel to stay for budget travellers! The Quadruple room is clean and tidy, very spacious(far better than hotel in hongkong). Certainly will back to stay here again!
Attitude of staff not really friendly.
My family is happy with Hou Kong Hotel
It's near some of Macao's top attractions such as Senado Square, Ruins of Saint Paul, and A-Ma Temple. You can also walk to the casinos such as Grand Lisboa and Wynn from the hotel.
Disappointed.
tidy good and comfortable and very close to bus stop
Hou Kong Hotel has nice staff, always reply my email as soon as possible. Very good experience.
Toilet had a smell, probably due to the pipe and sewage system Poor desk service. Not helpful when asked how to request for a ride to the ferry harbour Rude staff Will not recommend
Cockroaches in shower and behind TV. Rubbish skip 20feet from main entrance...Stench. Bad attitude receptionist who talks facing table and concentrate on video on phone instead of answering our queries. Noisy renovation going on. Do not be deceive by photos. Worse than youth hostels in UK.
Low quality hotel. Tiny rooms with tiny bathrooms. Very poor air conditioning, loud construction in morning and very thin walls. I only was staying in Macau one night and spent very little time in the hotel, so it was manageable. If you are planning on spending more than one night in Macau, do not stay here.
Our airconditioner wasn't functioning well, so we asked the receptionist to check our room. After about 30minutes, an attendant checked our room's aircon, and followed up after 10 minutes if it is already ok. They are nice and prompt in customer's complaints and requests. Thumbs up!
Budget. Hotel at back alley. Walking distance to attraction.
OK
GOOD FOR THE MONEY ..............
HKD Deposit returned in Macanese Pataca currency
The accommodation was good. the staff were friendly and accommodating. We deposited HKD 200 and returned it in Macanese Pataca currency so that was a turned off. Otherwise, all else our good.
The reception staff is not friendly. When question asked, he reply in non friendly face and unclear. Location wise is very good and convenient.
Good value for money
Very nice and friendly front desk staff. Gave us a free room upgrade from 2 twin beds to one twin and one double. Located in a fairly busy area, so very easy to catch buses and get around. The hotel itself is on the older end, so furnishing is not great, but everything considered, it was very good value for money.
Handy location, suitable for 1-2 nights
Good location, close to Senado Square and handy for buses, dining options, casinos etc.
Location is convenience, staffs are friendly . The only problem is the bathroom drainer flood while taking a shower. The hotel is not very clean and old.
Pass
The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The room was not worth what I paid...probably worth about half of that. After checking in, we found our room smelled pretty bad. We told the front desk and the guy there was busy playing on his phone. I had to tell him twice for him to listen to me. We went out and when we got back it didn't smell so bad anymore. The bed was too short, I'd say not suitable for anyone over 5'10" (178 cm). The bathroom seriously needs to be redone...the whole building actually.
Quiet area in Ponte 14, which is close to Ponte16, good location in 5-10 minutes walk to Senado Square. Also walking distance to Nam-Peng (old char chaan teng). A good walk from Ponte 14 towards south to see the old street (non-tourist area) of Macau, including very local taste food and wet market, and slowly stroll to a church then to Ah Ma temple. Hou Kong hotel must have been a very glamorous hotel back in 1970-80s. It has of course been refurbished in recent years to but it isn't hard to spot several furniture, the chandelier and the couch in the main hall. Decoration and design are rather classic. Room is clean and spacious, warm and comfortable. Connecting to Hou Kong hotel is Thai food restaurant which is crowded every night, believed to be good though we didn't have time to try out.
disappointing
staff werent friendly and room was dirty. very small double room.
the bed is super hard the rest are fine. Location so so casino are slightly far.
Good location, value for money
Good location. Easily access from outer ferry terminal by bus 3, 10, 10A. Just alight at bus stop after first right turn when you see Senado Square. Very near Lisboa and Wynn Casino if you miss the last public bus at night - 20 mins walk. Nearby Chinese eateries open till 3 a.m. One big supermarket nearby - 15 mins walk. Room is spacious but very basic. All cable T.V. in Chinese, no kettle, hard bed and basic toiletries - tooth brush, tooth paste and bath foam only. Very good WiFi. Overall hotel is old and tired, need renovation. Receptionist is good in English but appear to be overwork and thus, not friendly. In expensive Macau, the price for this hotel is a bargain.
located at walking distant from senado square and bus stop. helpful staff who gave guidance on how to take buses
Horrible stay no heater you’ll get sick in the cold wearher , male staff rude, no taxi service , linen is so dirty as if not washed for years, leaking wash sink & elevator smell like coackrosch. Need to he renovated
Close to shops and attraction area.
Hotel is old but ok to stay for 1-2 nights. Close to shops and restaurants. It take about 12-15 min walk to attraction area, not too bad for the price i paid.
reasonable price
Looking for a cheaper place to stay this is a good place. It’s cheap but cleanliness should still be priority.Bathroom is leaking water all over the floor.😬wet all the time.
Good location
Next to Thai restaurant Easy to walk to A-ma template, Senado square OK for solo travellers.
Good location
The white bed sheets and pillowcases have been turned yellow with age and usage. Feeling itchy and red on skin after sleeping a night. Location not bad, about 10 mins walk to Runis of St Paul's.
Convenient.
Everything was fine except for the toilet have a bad smell and the bed is too hard.
Worst experience ever, the receptionist attitude was too bad.
Overall experience is very pleasing. Only the soundproof is not so good or the guests were talked really loud and banged the door, we can hear clearly inside our room.

Well-priced, basic hotel with everything needed
While a bit rundown, this hotel had a friendly staff and was clean. The area directly around the location was under construction, but it was close to some good food and shopping options in a neighbourhood with character.
Very Disappointed
The customer service was very poor and the people are incompetent. They told me that they cannot call me a taxi, but the taxi driver told me in the lobby that they can and even showed me where the number was at the front desk. It would have also been nice for me to know that the "Gongbei" terminal doesn't open til 6am, but they didn't tell me that. I will never stay there again.

Will not return
AC made loud clicking noise all night. Floor was dirty. If you want to open windows.. no screen. Room attendant.. a really sloopy job making both of our twin bed.
