Highly Recommended Hotel in Vienna

Spiess and Spiess is an excellent hotel with a great staff and great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful when one of my daughters got sick. They called a doctor who came within an hour and we were able to move on with the day. The breakfast is excellent and it is two minutes from the underground. The room was a suite with two actual bedrooms and very comfortable.

It was ok. Buffet breakfast was very limited and expensive for what you pay for Expected more for a four stay hotel

Slightly Off Center

The hotel was a good place to stay. Just outside of city center, but quite walkable and the metro stop was a short 1 min walk. The staff was very friendly, the room spacious and very comfortable. Lots of restaurants within walking distance for those too tired to go anywhere kind of nights!!

Great Vienna hotel.

My family and I greatly enjoyed our stay here on our visit to Vienna. We reserved a junior suite on the garden side and it was very much like an apartment. The kids had a nice room with bunk beds and the wife and I had a room to ourselves, across a short hallway from the kids. The bathrooms were nice and the beds were exceptionally soft. The location of the property couldn't be beat, as it's a very short walk to the metro and only 2-3 stops from the heart of the city. The staff was very friendly, the the organic breakfast was high quality and 24 hour pour over coffee and tea station was used frequently. It was a top notch hotel experience. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in a beautiful room with a balcony and lovely bathroom. This hotel has wonderful, friendly staff. Great location near the metro station. Lots of shops and dining in the area.

Best stay in Europe

This was our favorite hotel stay in Europe. It was comfortable, AC worked amazing, quiet, and serene. We will definitely be back and recommend it to others.

The property was so close to the subway station! Less than a one minute walk. Staff was great and we really appreciated the water refill station as well as tea and coffee available in the reception area 24/7. The room was clean and spacious and the online check in / check out process was easy and convenient.

Everything was good

This would be a great property to stay at if you are a regular traveler to Vienna and know your way around. This was our first time in Vienna and although the property was clean and centrally located, the staff was not particularly welcoming or helpful. Not a bad place, just not effusing hospitality or offering suggestions to make your stay memorable.

Breakfast(buffet) is over-priced 23euro. It should be renamed as continental or cut price.

Fantastic choice for Vienna

What a fantastic property. Conveniently located in a great neighborhood, a two block walk to a major street with many restaurants/bakeries/shops, a fifteen-twenty minute walk to most tourist areas, and if you don’t feel like walking you are two subway stops away from the subway station half a block from the hotel doo4. Great breakfast, helpful staff and a well appointed, spotless and comfortable room. We stayed in the Garden Suite which is perfect for a family or two couples.

Beautiful eccentric old world rooms…the tub was enormous…the coffee was superlative…frühstück was very high quality and the street is quiet

Great location close to the Rochusgasse subway line. I was in room 15 which had a balcony and views of the prater amusement rides off in the distance

This was an excellent place to stay: pleasant, helpful staff, beautiful breakfast, reasonable rate for a bit of laundry that we needed, so willing to help arrange transfers to the train. This is a quiet location just a few steps from the subway (5 min to Stephansplatz),so very easy commute for tourists. Thank you for having us! We enjoyed our stay.

Excellent but...

Great hotel. Clean, friendly staff, except with help with luggage upon departing. We had to drag our suitcases ourselves when were told we would have help from the staff.

We enjoyed our stay, such a lovely hotel! Spacious and clean room, nice and modern look, balcony overlooking the garden, very quiet and pleasant. Daily breakfast was great too - good selection of breads, cheese, meats. Convenient location- the metro station is just down the block. Walking distance to other major attractions otherwise. Highly recommending!

Great hotel! About a block away from the subway (but you couldn't hear it). The sauna was fantastic. We loved the tea and coffee set up in the lobby. Very clean, quiet, and courteous staff. The staff was able to answer all of our questions (one of us got sick and needed antibiotics, they told us what we needed to know).

Nice hotel in a good location right next to the train station. Very quiet area. Room was just a little plain and no separate seating area from bedroom but good value and would stay again.

Wonderful, spacious room with a garden view and balcony. It was a quiet and comfortable. Its location about 50 meters from the subway atop could not have neen more convenient. The staff and breakfast buffet were also terrific. I highly recommend Speiss & Speiss.

We love the simplicity and intimate charm of the hotel. We did not avail of our $25 beverage credit because we do not drink alcohol. Wish we could have applied it to other services we needed that the hotel provides i.e. laundry service. We were happy to find out that the hotel has laundry service for $15 and we were happy to pay. It was fast and very efficient. I highly recommend this place if you want an out of the way place away from the crazy touristy area of the city. We will definitely come back here again.

Convenient location! Beautiful room! Helpful staff! GREAT stay! We had a garden room with balcony. The rooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable! The location of the hotel cannot be beat just, the orange line 3 stops from St. Stephen’s! The staff were accommodating, holding our bags after we checked out! We could not have asked for anything more for our 3 days in Vienna!

Friendly service. Within walking steps of metro. Train easy to navigate and took only 10 minutes to reach city center.

The breakfast room has a very nice view and atmosphere. Anyway should have more hot food. The bedroom is great. Towel should be bigger. The staffs are friendly. Location is very convenient.

It was a fantastic stay with family. The rooms, facilities & overall experience was great. Andrea was very kind to help us with local inputs and while managing breakfast area. The hotel is right outside metro exit which helps in going around city using public transport. The only thing which could have been great was if we had some hot breakfast option available in the breakfast spread. But it was a no big deal for us - So we chose to ignore this. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling with family.

We especially loved the breakfast, free street parking and airconditioning in the rooms.

Loved this place. Stayed here with spouse and two teenagers. Close to train station. Room spotless and comfortable with lovely amenities. Breakfast a treat. Highly recommend this place.

We chose S&S as it was one of The Telegraph's recommended hotels for Vienna. It didn't disappoint! Our Family Garden Suite was spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel is well located and only 3 stops to Stephansplatz (5 mins on the underground). Concierge was helpful and friendly - special thanks to Andrea for all of her friendly help and advice! We very much hope to visit S&S again.

Everything was positive - nice big clean room, a balcony if the weather had allowed using it, friendly staff, free WIFI, quiet neighbourhood but in walking distance to centre. No room service etc that you might have in bigger hotels but there are some nice restaurants round the corner.

Excellent Location. Disappointed with Stairs at entrance and carrying cases up them to reception with bad knee. Breakfast disappointing. Requested soft boiled eggs hard or undercooked. Reception not always staffed so waited for check out a while. Room excellent.

We loved everything about this property! The location was perfect for us in a quiet residential neighbourhood yet easily walkable to the city centre. There was excellent shopping and many cafes and restaurants very close by, and an underground station at the end of the block. Our room was huge, spotlessly clean and had a lovely balcony that overlooked the garden. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel's breakfast was excellent - organic and mostly locally-sourced. They offered many gluten-free and dairy-free choices and I'm sure that they would happily accommodate food allergies or intolerances if given notice ahead of time. We highly recommend this property. The price was very reasonable and we will definitely return when we are in Vienna.

Great little hotel with wonderful breakfast

Small hotel about 15 mins walk from Mitte Station where you can get CAT train to the airport - so easy. A little further out to walk into the centre than some hotels, but very quiet. Very clean, comfy bed and really great breakfasts - all organic with very interesting options and delicious bread. No soap or bath/shower gel for our lovely big bath, which seemed odd - maybe an oversight. I would recommend this hotel.

Wonderful Stay

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Spiess - very clean and comfortable. The location is great and the breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay here again.

A great hotel that’s close to Vienna’s attractions

The hotel was excellent and the staff very nice. As the name suggests, it’s more like an apartment in that you come and go as you please without someone on the front desk at certain off-peak times. However, it was very good value for money.

Amazing family owned hotel/b&b. 1 min walk from U subway station which is few stops from all central sites. Super clean spacious garden suite, phenomenal organic breakfast that will make you want to stay longer. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Super happy that we chose Spiess & Spiess! Definitely recommend!!

We were in Vienna for 8 days and delighted with our stay at Hotel Spiess. Our room was very spacious and well appointed. Our only comment would be that the beds were a bit too soft. Also breakfast is excellent

Lovely Hotel in a good location

Stayed at Speiss and Speiss for 4 nights - the hotel is in a good location 1 underground stop from the Airport train which takes 16 minutes. Lovely spacious room with lovely tea and coffee. Breakfast was excellent to say the least -the products were fresh and organic and plentifull. Staff were very advisable. Lovely stay - can't fault anything!

This hotel was excellent. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants something nice but not fancy. The room was spacious and clean, bathroom very nice. The staff is very helpful with getting around, any plans etc. our experience with them was all very positive. Breakfast was wonderful everything you could want in a beautiful space. The right mix

Between location- which is excellent as it is in a quite area BUT steps away from the Ubahn - Subway which in turn is 5 min away from the city center/Stephansdom And the impeccable upkeep of the hotel - and the comfort of the room - I stayed in bldg #2 which is in the back And the very good breakfast all I can say is that whenever back in Vienna I will come back here

Great location

Located right next the the underground and some really good restaurants. Need were comfortable and very clean. Staff were great. Really enjoyed it!

Vienna lodging

This hotel was all around excellent. The location is a hop skip from the Ubahn -transit system - which gets you pretty much everywhere you want to go in Vienna. There is a very nice Greek restaurant at the next corner. The hotel staff was pleasant, courteous and helpful. Organic delicious breakfast served every day. We couldn't have picked a better place!

Couldn't Ask For More

Perfectly located on a quiet street just outside the historical quarter, but less than a minute away from an underground station with trains every 5 minutes or so that will take you there in no time. Our room, and it faced the street, was gloriously quiet. I am a light sleeper who frequently struggles to get a full nights sleep in a hotel - I had no such problems here. We booked a superior room (number 4) which was comfortable and spacious and benefitted from a queen size bed. Breakfast was buffet style and plentiful with staff on hand to assist. We would stay here again without hesitation. Perfect.

Nice spot

Very calm place and still very close to metro so that visiting Vienna becomes easy. The location is clean and modern with a loto fo space in the room and good services. To be recommended.

Great hotel steps away from subway

Our family (2 adults, 2 kids) had a great experience at this hotel. It's so quiet and just a little outside of the city centre so you can get away from the big tourist crowds. The room was lovely, the breakfast that is included in plentiful, from organic and/or local sources. The subway is just steps away, but you don't hear it from the hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful, we needed to access a doctor while there and they were wonderfully helpful. We would stay here again for sure.

Great location, clean and well run

Hotel is 200 feet from subway (underground) terminal, which can get you to almost any location in Vienna. Very clean and well run hotel. Breakfast is a cold B&B style breakfast, but food was fresh and healthy. Ate there every morning. Several restaurants in easy walking distance. Italian place had great food and service. Would recommend to all. Taxi fare was 36 euros from airport.

After hour check in is a bit difficult. Parking is a problem.

Lovely stay, great location

First visit to Vienna and we couldn't have made a better choice. The room was perfect and pristine. Location was both quiet and greatly accessible via the subway. Will stay here again when we get the chance.

OK but reception closes too early

reception closes at 8pm, which is not good enough, especially for business travels

This hotel was perfect for our trip in Vienna, close to everything, not even a block from the metro. The breakfast buffet was delicious with great selections of stuff. Definitely would stay here again when back in Vienna.
