Top-notch experience, reasonable price!

On entering, we found the large foyer well-designed and welcoming. It could accommodate multiple groups and had numerous amenities for guests’ enjoyment. We chose a basic room, which was not large, but well-appointed, with everything we needed, including a small refrigerator and microwave. There was no in-room coffee maker, but the lobby provided good coffee at all hours. Breakfast was a credit at the Farmhouse restaurant next door. Excellent!

Have preciously stayed at other establishments in the area. This one was well worth the pricepoint. Ataff was excellent, room was clean, and maintenance appears to be top of mind. Cons - small room and thinner walls. However still better than most in its price range.

The room was nice, loved the Ski locker area.

Nice, comfortable hotel in Ponderay near turnoff to Schweitzer ski area. Clean rooms and friendly staff. There are 2 hot tubs, a pool, small workout room, and even a room for ski waxing and bike storage. Close and convenient to Sandpoint and shopping.

So my stay here at the hotel was definitely a 4.5 out of 5. My room was next to the north 40 store and I believe it was the lowes or home depot behind it. So if I went to sleep early I heard forklifts at night. Then early in the morning was the same thing. What i did not like the most was the bed. I am 6-3” tall and 258. So kind of a big guy. I crushed that bed definitely not the bed at home. How ever everything else was great. Voucher for food next door was killer. Walmart close buy, star bucks across the street. Taco bell and burger king also there if you need your insides cleaned out. A big possibility i will come up later in the year. I will definitely stay there again.

Easy access off highway but minimal road noise

The advertised breakfast was not available until well after check out for most of the guests. Not until 0900. This is. Ski town so the majority of guests needed to find breakfast on their own. There was no intent to compensate guests for the lack of advertised service or voucher them for a future breakfast. Sandpoint has many hotels available to skiers. The marketed breakfast is why we selected the Hotel Ruby

Staff was helpful, friendly, welcoming. Went out of their way to accommodate us. Would recommend to stay for sure.

Top quality for the price and location to Schweitzer.

Wonderful staff and clean property next to the mountain. Hot tubs were out of order and bed wasn't too comfortable. Amazing view from pool & spa room though.

A great inexpensive hotel that is clean, quiet from road noise and has a great free breakfast, pick from a few items at restaurant next door.

We had a great stay at Hotel Ruby. The free breakfast vouchers to the Farmhouse Kitchen was definitely our favorite part before long days of skiing at Schweitzer. The facility felt clean, organized, and the staff were very friendly. We had everything we needed at this place! Only complaint is the beds are not very comfortable. Our mattress felt pretty old and had a thin mattress pad on top. We struggled every night to get good sleep all the way through the night. Overall great stay!

Convenient to Schweitzer

The Ruby is right at the crossroad to Schweitzer ski resort. It is on a main road but located far back on their lot so there is no road noise. Sandpoiny was a short drive away.

Did not like the loud people the first night we were there. Didn't seem like staff took care of the couple yelling and cussing. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed for our family ski trip. The rooms are bit small but they do have a ski locker if you wish to use it. There was not any oatmeal available for breakfast as the website advertises and by Sunday, a lot of the grab-n-go items were gone and never restocked. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would stay again. Close to lots of restaurants and a short drive up to Schweitzer.

The staff at the hotel were fantastic. The rooms were modern and clean. They had a great ski/board storage room with complimentary locks and an area for waxing. The pool and hot tub area were nice too.

The only problem is that the parking lot is right outside rooms. Can be sort of load. Ask for a room on higher floors and the back side.

Excellent hotel and a great location! You're only 1.7 mi from the Schweitzer shuttle parking lot. The hotel was super clean and the two hot tubs were much appreciated after a day of skiing..

Affordable, new, good location.

What a terrific find! New hotel - clean and effective. Great location close to Schweitzer Mountain. Rooms are small and there’s no elevator. But the price was awesome! Breakfast options were solid. The cinnamon pastries are amazing! Would definitely stay there again!

The room was nice. Neighbors noisy past 11 pm. The pool opened late because of maintenance. That should have been done earlier in the day.

Great place to stay

The room was very pleasant and clean. The breakfast buffet included everything we expected. The hot tub is nice after skiing. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are plenty of nice restaurants nearby. It's close to the road to the ski area. Room rates are good.

We had a great stay at Hotel Ruby. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. Newer hotel with all amenities. Indoor pool and hot tub, outdoor gas fire pits for entertaining, free breakfast with enough options to start your day, exercise room and a outdoor dog play area. Very pet friendly hotel and pets are welcomed with a doggie treat bag. The rate was very affordable for everything included. The rooms are clean and comfortable, plenty of parking, and in a clean, safe area with lots of food options. Highly recommended and I would stay here again if back in the area.

I think it's changed hands the breakfast is not what it used to be

What stood out to me was the friendly and courteous staff. When I flew into Spokane, my baggage was delayed. I checked into the Hotel Ruby without anything. The staff took care of me and gave me essentials until I was able to get my baggage the next day. The entire staff went out of their way to make sure all my needs were met.

We loved our stay! The staff were friendly and had toothbrushes when we forgot ours. The hottub is open until 11p which is great for after hitting the slopes. The robes were a wonderful touch! Coffee in the lobby was hot and available all day. Easy parking, Walmart/stores near by to get snacks and stuff. We will be coming back again!

Great value for the cost, convenient location, 21 minute drive to Schweitzer Ski Resort. A very affordable stay for me as a traveling ski enthusiast.

Stayed here twice, it’s clean, staff very attentive. The “breakfast” wasn’t near what it was our first time there so probably gonna want to go somewhere for breakfast if you need a good meal. The walls and floors are thin (you’ll hear stomping above you), there is a hardware type store there in the lot so prepare for hearing trucks or something heavy sounding. We were given an accessible room which I did not reserve, we weren’t told or asked if that’s what we wanted, coming in at almost midnight we were too tired to change it. So maybe ask for what you do / don’t want when checking in. Pretty central location to downtown Sandpoint and the ski mountain and food, gas, shopping so that’s plus. FYI - no elevator so if you don’t like stairs ask for 1st floor. (There’s 3 I believe).

I love that it had a lounge area with a pool table and TV somewhere to hang out. And everything was clean nice and updated.

This is our third time staying at this property. The staff is always so kind and helpful that it makes staying here very enjoyable. While there are many hotel choices available, this is the best.

I felt the staff was very friendly and kind. The hotel and surrounding areas was clean and well taken care of. I felt safe the whole time I was there and the food options they had close by had really good food.

We liked the room, was clean and comfortable. Affortable for last minute get away. Only complaint was not a lot of options for food allergies.

Nice place just off the main highway. Clean and quiet, has a pool I didn't have a chance to use but it looked nice.

This is an amazing hotel. Beautiful inside, relaxing with Mountain View. There is a Farmhouse BBQ restaurant across the big parking area that serves good brisket.

Nice friendly staff hotel. Very Clean, modern, besd are good. Room amenities were nice, though could have used USB-C Plug Chargers over the USB-A. Walls are a little thin, so if next dior neighbor is a bit rowdy (kids etc) you can here them. I like the hotel was just far enough off the hwy so no traffic noise. Close to everything.

Only comment would be room was quite small. Otherwise would stay here again

The room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was limited but met our needs. The location was very convenient for us as we journied from Glacier National Park back to Western Washington.

This hotel would not make accommodations after our booking and just cancelled our stay with them. Then told us there was nothing they could do for us. Manager hid back in a little room and employee had to go back there to ask questions because he was obviously new. Also we could hear everything they were saying. So really no point in not coming out. Put the employee in a very awkward situation.

Great staff and clean rooms.

There was a musty smell in the room when I first entered but it either went away quickly or I got use to it. I wished the mini fridge had a freezer compartment so I could re-freeze my cold packs for my cooler. It was an accessible room so there wasn’t any counter space in the bathroom, just a flimsy wire rack. The hotel is next door to the Farmhouse Kitchen BBQ which was very good. The continental breakfast was mainly bread options, cold cereal and waffles. But if you look in the mini fridge there are Jimmy Dean breakfast croissants that you can microwave which I really enjoyed.

Front desk representative was awesome. Room quiet and clean. Love the blackout curtains wish all motels would put them in

From arrival to departure the place offers good service and very friendly professional staff.

The hotel was great and the staff were very friendly. We travel with our two dogs and we're given doggy welcome bags upon check in containing a few doggy treats and a doggy bag (literally) to pick up waste should it occur. This is the only hotel we have stayed in that has a doggy park, which ours so enjoyed.

Good location for just passing through

Sparkling inside and outside. Cindi at the front desk was so nice & helpful.

Was small and quiet. Liked the room set up. Jake, one of the desk staff was amazing and did over and above. Loved the pool table for guests to use. Fire pits were a cozy place to unwind. Parking was great. Downside -no elevator, pool and spa needs to be refurbished, hallway carpets were quite stained.

Our room was close to the retail space behind the Ruby, some noise early in the morning.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Facilities were all in great condition. The only thing I didn't like was that the pool rules specifically said 18 from 9-11pm. The pool was overrun with young children during these hours while their parents sat outside near the fire pit drinking. Property staff came in several times and never said a word to the parents.

Staff was very friendly when I checked in. Room was clean with no funny smells. Nice looking pool and firepit. Breakfast didn't really have options for me (gluten and dairy free) but was nice enough for normal people. Definitely staying again for future visits to the area.

This is the second stay for us here, both times we had an easy check in, clean rooms and nice pet exercise yard. We love the fact that they even give you a little treat bag for your pet when you check in.

The hotel Ruby was great, staff was very efficient and very helpful in fixing the messed up reservation caused by again problems with Expedia’s booking service. I do my best to avoid Expedia and will try even harder in the future.

Great accommodation comfortable and clean all the way around

We really enjoyed our stay. We had a king jucuzzi suite and really enjoyed it. Bed was very comfortable and hotel was quiet. The staff were all super friendly

We love staying here, this was our second trip to Sandpoint and we stayed at the Hotel Ruby both times. The grounds around the hotel are so thoughtfully developed with a walking path, pond and fenced dog area. They’ve also created two outdoor fireplaces with seating for people to gather. Such a nice touch. Much more than just a hotel.

We have stayed here before. The room is nice, but the bathroom is really small with no counter space. Housekeeping was not the greatest. We stayed 4 nights and bedding was not changed. Tyler at the front desk was great and quickly resolved loud toddlers who were acting uncontrollably in an adjacent room late in the evening.
