Very nice, the overbite clerk was exceptional
15 mins to the eiffel tower, neat and clean property although tiny but that’s what can be expected in Paris.
The staff was accommodating to drop off and hold our luggage while we toured tye city until it was time to check in.
Great location for the tower… rooms compact but clean and neat if walls a bit thin.
Excellent experience, great service at reception desk. All staff great!!
Great location and within walking distance to major monuments and dining. Very basic accommodations but, staff were pleasant and helpful.
Nice stay, lacking air for room
Our stay was great, that being room service (each day we had beds made, new towels, garbage removed from room). The air conditioning/system didn’t work, so each night we had to leave our balcony window open, which created a ton of moisture in the room, not making for a comfortable sleep. Additionally, the light switches were extremely silly and complicated to use (especially for my 82 year old grandmother).
Great hotel not far from the metro station and bonus if you get a room at the front of the hotel - you’ll be able to see the Eiffel Tower. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Near Eiffel Tower.
We were very pleased with our stay at the Derby. Clean, quiet and friendly. I slept very well on the comfortable bed. The hotel is very convenient to the metro and just blocks from the charming Rue Cler. My older traveling companion appreciated the elevator, and the view of the twinkling Eiffel Tower from her room. She had never been to Paris (or Europe), and the amount of walking and stair climbing surprised her (I tried to warn her), so she very much appreciated coming back to this calm oasis every evening of our week-long stay. We tried several of the restaurants in the neighborhood, and were happy with all. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Loved the view of the Eiffel tower
Perfect little hotel for our trip. Staff was friendly and helpful
Front desk people were awesome. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent location
Staffs were friendly
Excelente
Location and safe
The staff are all very helpful and very nice.
Hotel derby was the perfect place to stay to see all of the amazing sites of Paris. The breakfast was perfect to start each day and the staff was very helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
Like the Derby
Great hotel. Close to most places
Jimmy at the front desk is awesome, very helpful and friendly ❤️❤️❤️
Safe, quiet, nearby shops.
Amazing Experience! Tres Bien!
Our stay at the Hotel Derby Eiffel was wonderful. It was the perfect location for the Olympics. We were just a block from the metro and there are several cafes nearby for an evening drink or meal. The rooms were clean, the staff was more than friendly and the breakfast got us started for the day. Room 65 had an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower and we were thankful for the upgrade.
Wonderful place to stay for the Olympics. The staff was incredibly helpful, the room was small but nice and the air conditioning, sometimes a problem in France, was terrific. Plus, we were able to watch the marathon from our window, an added benefit.
We live this part of Paris. It's quiet and walkable to everything we want to see. The hotel staff were very helpful and the breakfast was above average.
It does not have kettle and proper tea cups, it’s doing renovation when we are here. No sound proof
Good hotel in a good location
This is a good and simple hotel in a good location. It gets a 4 stars from me because the room and bathroom are extremely small, not what I expected from the pictures, and there was a lot of remodeling noise. The breakfast is great and the young lady who took care of that area during the weekdays was exceptionally good, always with a smile and making sure guests are served and tables are clean.
Very small room, and old building with a low functioning elevator, great staff serving breakfast.
The hotel was ok, the rooms are very small, the hotel listed air conditioning and mini bar in their rooms and when we got there were informed that the mini bar was only for premium rooms and our air conditioning was broken. We went before the Olympics so they were doing construction everyday we were there. However staff was very friendly
Location was excellent, metro close and lots of great restaurants nearby.Staff were excellent only issue for me was the lift was out of order and i was put right at the top with no warning at all from the hotel which i was quite annoyed about as have painful knee condition, plus the place was literally a building site, but the rooms were clean and very comfortable,im sure once all work was comete i would have no complaints at all
Amazing staff. Very helpful and thoughtful. Only marked down due to renovations
We had a wonderful time staying at Derby Eiffel. The hotel did have construction going on but it did not bother us at all. Construction was during day when we were gone. Slept great and was quiet even with the lift next to our door. Close to Ecole Militaire metro and buses. We washed clothes at a laundry mat not a few minutes away. The room was small but comfortable for 3 of us. Would stay here again.
Other hotels near by nicer
Disappointing. After travelling on trains with no lifts we arrive at the hotel to find the lift is being renovated with the rest of the hotel. We asked why we weren’t informed as we would have found another hotel. The response was it’s on their site. We booked through Hotels and nothing on here we also booked 6 months ago. Not accommodating or friendly. We were on 6th floor dragging all our bags up for one night. Conveniently located 15 walk to Eiffel Tower. View from our small balcony was fantastic. Noisy hotel due to Reno’s going into the night. No assistance with transfers for our early departure.
Just not what was expected. Staff was really nice
It was greats. They were doing renovations so the elevator was closed but they brought our bags to our room for us. Staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms are small but we expected that in France. You could easily hear other doors open and close but luckily no one came in late (also wore earplugs too which helped). Location is excellent. Close to metro and not far from Eiffel Tower.
Location was amazing, I would definitely stay here again
This hotel is in a prime location, very close to the metro and in walking distance of many famous areas. The staff were some of the kindest and most helpful I have encountered. The room was exceptionally clean and housekeeping services are available daily. There are many restaurants nearby, as well as a grocery store and drug store. The breakfast is a nice addition. The staff will call a taxi for you if you need. I would stay here again.
Enjoyed our stay.
The only positive of this hotel is the location. Once arriving at the hotel we found out it is heavily under construction and the elevator was not in service (we were not aware of this ahead of time). We were staying on the fifth floor, luckily they had someone to carry the luggage but he really seemed to struggle despite this being his job. After our second night we woke up to lots of ants in the bathroom, which was very disgusting. The ants seemed to be coming out of a hole in the wall in the bathroom floor. We spoke to the manager and he luckily moved us to another room but was very rude. When asked about some sort of reimbursement he all but laughed in my face saying I should’ve told him the previous day but there were not any ants the previous day. The new room also had ants and bugs in the bathroom. Luckily there was a door separating the bathroom hall to the bedroom so we tolerated it for our final night but we were not happy and would never stay here again. In addition, the stairs every morning have garbage bags on every floor and due to the construction the rooms are very dusty. I would recommend not staying here.
Good location, easy to get to restaurants.
We stayed 8 nights at this hotel. The room was recently renovated with a comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom was big enough to shower and the hotel provided shampoo and soap. We got a beautiful view! The Eiffel Tower was just outside our window to enjoy every night. The eight nights we spent here were great!
When we checked in the hotel was an obvious construction zone as under renovation but person checking us in said elevator is under construction and no mention of everything else which included hammering until 9pm last night and work that started at 8 am this morning. Our room was very tired looking with paint peeling off the walls. Hallway was noisy as with no working elevator people had to haul luggage up and down the stairs which were right outside our door. The location is good. The staff were polite. Based on my experience here and the condition of the hotel I would not stay here again and definitely feel the hotel needs to advise people of this Reno when they book.
Call them directly before you book. This hotel is completely under construction. No working elevator, walls & floors are taped off being painted, 8am loud construction every morning. Rooms are loud, not sound proof as listed. No mini fridge even tho it's listed as having one. Bed was two twins pushed together so you are stuck to just one side because they slide apart easily.
The property was under construction so lot of dust and no elevator.. this may be just our timing but I would have expected to be informed of the construction. Also I booked the hotel basically for AC and the AC was not working. I did not sleep well for my entire stay.. the location is definitely good and everything is walkable.
The hotel was undergoing renovation and it was a little messy, nothing crazy. There’s no elevator but a charming spiral staircase. If you’re not fit maybe this property is not for you, staff was nice the time. Will definitely come back
Currently under renovations, main lobby is damp and musty. Rooms were clean
Is a good hotel, celan and good staff and services, the people are very friendly, i recommend it.
This hotel was very well located for using public transportation There are many good stores and restaurants nearby
Under renovation no elevator , narrow winding stairs, but overall, great location to view the tower. Lots of places to eat and pick up snacks if you want.
Room is nice but its under renovations and no lift available. Narrow spiral staircase makes it hard to bring up and down the suitcases.
The property was very clean. The staff was very friendly. The cleaning people was very good always ready for extra water or toilet paper. breakfast in the morning was great downstairs everybody was always with a smile and very friendly. Special thanks to the young kid who helped out with my bags always ready to help and to answer any of my questions. I have to mention there is no working elevator so if you stay in the upper floors be ready to walk up.
Great Property
Convenient location to metro and walking distance to many sites including the Eiffel Tower. I would definitely stay here again when I am in Paris.
Great location. Quiet neighborhood. Close to Metro. Walking distance to Eiffel Tower. Great restaurants and shops nearby. Friendly and reliable staff. Hotel has maintained its historical charm and has done recent and has ongoing renovations happening. It was our 2nd stay and we’d stay again! Two thumbs ups!!
The staff is great; professional and friendly! The breakfast room has a nice variety and the girl is super sweet. At this time the hotel is under construction and there isn’t a working elevator. However, the staff did help with our luggage.
Stayed here end of March. Great location to get anywhere. Staff was enormously helpful. Only issue was elevator was temporarily out, but was only a minor inconvenience.
No elevator.
Beautiful but walls were thin and we were kept awake by the guests beside us
This property is under construction and we didn’t get notified. People are working and painting while you are at your room. Rooms smells like paint and what they advised is to open the window. The elevator is not working either. I would recommend if you work do it by floor and notify the guests that is being remodeled. Other than that is a 15 min walk to the tower and a metro station is close
Nice, clean, no frills hotel. Small but that’s common in Paris. Excellent location. Would stay again
Great location and easily accessible. Lots of restaurants and a market nearby.
Misleading under construction, noisy too small. Hidden fees on continental breakfast.
Hôtel staff was not friendly at all. Location was good
Nice staff.
Great tourist hotel on a budget
Very clean, comfortable tourist hotel, conveniently located near the L’Hotel des Invalides and metro stations. The area around the hotel has a lot of cafes, bakeries, a small grocery store, and laundromat. The rooms are small, but it’s Paris. Great front desk and housekeeping staff. Very helpful!
Booked this on the basis of good reviews but was disappointed. The room was shabby and needed redecorating. The bath was old and had no plug. The shower head was blocked. The sound of hot water in the pipes in the morning woke us up. The receptionists were obliging but indifferent. They did give us a bath plug. The room was cramped and basic. Disappointing for the price but at least the location was convenient for the Eiffel Tower.
Awesome
Great place to stay for a affordable price
The staff was accomodating and polite. The room was tidy and clean but a bit outdated. It is good value for money though.
Stag was friendly, location was excellent with metro practically in the corner and the Eiffel Tower just there (can see it from the hotel door), and a short walk away. Many dinning options. Facilities would need better maintenance, staff does what it can with a medium kept building (considering that it was built in the 1750’s or there about) location and staff make up for age, I will gladly stay there again.
The staff was incredibly helpful. 20 restaurants and cafes within a mile as well. The rooms are small, but that is pretty normal for the area. Just dont be surprised by it.
This hotel is so close and convenient to the city
The hotel was average. Romi was very kind , he helped us a ton. The cleaning could be better and the rooms were small. It’s very close to the Eiffel Tower but we did have to Uber everywhere else.
Great place for a family to stay. Safely kept out baggage while we explored the city.
Room smelt like freshly painted. Made it difficult to sleep because of the smell. No AC. better remove that from the amenities provided. Closer to Eiffel Tower. Room service is decent. Staff were polite.
This is a hidden gem of a place to stay while in Paris. It is a short walk from the Eiffel Tower and to numerous bakeries and restaurants. The metro is close by as well making it easy to get around the city. We had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone that is wanting to tour the city and be out and about.
The hotel was affordable and included a view of the Eiffel tower! Only a 15 minute walk to the Eiffel tower. There is a nice lounge to chill out in. The room was nice. The staff were really helpful as ordered us a taxi for our trip back to the airport. Nearby are delicatessen shops, food market, restaurants and a mini supermarket.
This is the second time we’ve stayed at this hotel. The location is great for what we needed during this stay.
15 minutes walk to Eiffel Tower. Accessible from metro station Ecole Militaire
The property was in a great location for dining and sightseeing, the Eiffel Tower was within a 10 minute walk. The room was extremely small, but clean. The restaurant/ bar associated with the hotel was closed for renovation so it would have been nice to be notified that in advance.
Great location. Reception Desk very friendly and helpful. Decor a bit dated.
Great location to get around the city! From certain rooms you can see the Eiffel Tower. Parking on street was easy in the area so it made renting a car easy in the city.
It’s a lovely little hotel near all you need for your city trip Paris. It is a city hotel so rooms are smaller than other hotels but still big enough same as the bath rooms. Stuff were so friendly and will help with anything you need. Definitely recommend this hotel
Stayed here many times and it's currently being redecorated. We stayed in a refurbed room which was simple, clean, comfortable with helpful staff and everything you need from a basic hotel a minute's walk from a Metro station. Not fancy but we'll be staying again.
When we arrived the front desk agent was less than truthful about the room he gave us. He made our room sound like he was doing us a favor putting us on the 1st floor facing the street. The noise level was ridiculous. The room was not renovated as some are. The next day a professional, nice manager I assume moved our room facing the back and it was a renovated room. Honesty is everything. The location was excellent.
Good value for the money. Very clean (I did a thorough check with the current bedbug panic), great location and pleasant, helpful staff. The only downside is it’s a bit worn. I think they are doing some remodeling, but the rooms could use a refresh.
Property is in a great location. Amazing view of Eiffel Tower from our small balcony window. Short walk to Eiffel Tower and public transport. Plenty of restaurants and shops in the area. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Lift in the building to floors but is very small. Room is small but very clean and tidy. Breakfast was nice.
We have had a wonderful stay , the room , staff and location have all been excellent so close to the Eiffel tower, the river, places to eat and lots of other must see things we will definitely be back and would recommend this lovely hotel to everyone.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Derby Eiffel. I spend very little time in my hotel when I travel, so amenities such as a pool or gym aren't important to me. Instead, I look for a clean, quiet place to sleep. The Hotel Derby Eiffel was perfect for me. Very clean, very quiet. The location was excellent. I was a fifteen minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, and there were great restaurants nearby. If you just want to nice place to rest your head at the end of a long day, I don't think that you can do better.
Perfect location
Great location & helpful staff
Great hotel and staff. Good breakfast. Rooms are small but adequate. The location more than makes up for this.
Friendly staff happy to help
Helpful and kind staf
Great location
Hotel is very clean and staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s very close to the Eiffel Tower - about 10 minutes walking distance.
Hotel staff is friendly enough. But the picture of the hotel is certainly deceiving. The room is so small. And worst its flooded. The hotel is reasonably enough to change us the room, but it took him second look to believe us that the room is terribly flooded. Certainly will not be back to this hotel.
View of the Eiffel Tower from our 5th floor room, small but cosy room.
To be honest I hesitated in writing a review. I had read many reviews (some positive some not) before booking and booked there anyway. Location was good, very walkable, close to transit etc. While I appreciate they are in the midst of a renovation the price we paid did not reflect the current condition, very small rooms (even by European standards) and other problems….hence my rating. Would I stay there again? No.
Is very convenient for everything like food and tourism

Great room, if you aren't a big person
The room was overall very comfortable and the bed was fantastic. Only drawback was the size of the shower. I'm not a huge person (5'3" female with a DD chest), and had to squeeze into the corner against the (cold) tile wall of the shower and still got hit by the door when entering the shower. Otherwise, the room was great. Would not recommend booking it if you are larger or even an average size or above, due to the restrictive size of the shower entrance.
