Mehh probably stay elsewhere
I found the stay acceptable but underwhelming. The room is in desperate need of a refresh, the coffee machine leaked, AC had a mind of its own and the beds I found very uncomfortable
Nice hotel and location but definitely terrible for parking your car. Not many hotels in that area have parking.
Great location! Lovely staff.
Nice small typically Maltese hotel, off the main track, so quite at night. Nice rooftop pool and bar. Good for bus services not far from the nightlife of Paceville if that's your scene.
This can't be a 4-star hotel. Except being quite clean in general, the hotel was awful. Sound proofing is a joke, you can hear noises from the street all night long. Could not sleep at all. The most ridiculous thing was they charge us 10 euros for making the bathroom mat towels dirty. This is absurd if you are not allowing people to step on the bath mat and put it on floor. It was totally unfair and the staff was rude. I would not recommend you to get this hotel. You can definitely find something better with this price. The facility was not particualrly good, doesnt worth a 4 star.
Very nice, comfortable, and good location
The room was comfortable with a great bathroom, comfy bed, and pillows. The staff were always helpful. The buffet breakfast was amazing each day. Outside, the location was great near the bus stops. There was a lot of construction around, but no sounds in our room!
I
Nice, modern hotel in middle of St. Julian's
I was on an organized tour of Sicily and Malta. The tour company booked me into the Hotel Argento for three days and through Hotels.com I added a fourth night. The hotel is perfectly fine but given my interest in the older more historical parts of Malta, the St. Julian's area is not the best for that kind of thing. The hotel is in the heart of the entertainment and hospitality part of the island and there is very good public transportation nearby. I would have preferred a hotel closer to Valletta or Sliema. The breakfast was excellent - plentiful food served hot. I did use the pool on the sixth floor on a couple of days to soothe some tired muscles. Lots of restaurant choices nearby.
Amazing location, really nice saff people and clean rooms&towels i want to thanks all of them individually and especially thanks to Sophie she helped us a lot. Breakfast variety is pretty good. I think best place to stay in St. Julian's! Looking forward come back here again! The only bad thing about the hotel is leaving :)
Wonderful breakfast
I liked Gozo and Valletta
Excellent location from transport, and yet in a quiet location for a good night's sleep! Great service from reception to all guests on where to visit on the island
Very good hotel at good location
This a very very good value for money hotel. Location, next to Ross, in St Julian is great. The room was as advertised, and the breakfast very good. Overall, my expert was very pleasant.
3.5/5 rating
Very good hotel with better public transport connectivity. Bus stops of Ross and Spinola in 5 mins reach. I wouldn't rate the hotel as 4 star, may be 3 or 3.5 star. But, hotel service and breakfast is amazing.
Amazing stay
Hotel was beautiful and breakfast was unbelievable! Staff incredibly friendly and location was perfect. Got upgraded to a suite which was lovely and nice and quiet in the day. Table was slightly old and shampoo was provided in plastic bottles hence the reduced eco rating. But overall the hotel was amazing and we very much enjoyed our stay. Very reasonably priced for both quality and location would certainly recommend and come back!
We stayed for 2 nights. The area was pretty safe to walk around during the day/night. The room was very spacious especially for being in Europe as most hotels are smaller. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine for as a VIP Expedia guest which I really liked. Their breakfast was pretty fulfilling but needed some updates towards their menu. Also the room air conditioner wasn’t working properly which was an inconvenience. We had a window in our room so we would open during the day/night so it wouldn’t get stuffy. There is a bus stop 2 minutes from the hotel, and a very walkable area.
It was an amazing stay, Would love to stay there again. Despite the bathtub from leaking underneath, which never did get looked at..? But otherwise a wonderful hotel with beautiful breakfasts.
Would not recommend. Air con did not work and after reporting to numerous staff this was not fixed. Hot water stopped working one day, no electrical sockets by the bed which was very inconvenient. Really not a 4 star for the facilities or service. Location is good but for all other reasons it’s better to stay somewhere else.
Very nice place to stay, staff very friendly. Very clean and very good price! Excellent! Thank you for having us Hotel Argento
All was good. Could have been better if lighting was more. Felt the room was bit dark with the lightings used
Definitely a clean hotel. The room heats well, has a nice view. Swimming pool not used, but normal given the weather. A little small, I have no idea whether the entrance is chaotic in summer or not. However, the way the room is structured can be improved. The spaces are optimal, but not optimized. At the side of the bed there is a huge unused space, where a wardrobe could be added or something that can be used to place stuff. Bedside tables a little too small. Same thing in the bathroom. The shower was excellent, the bathroom structure was good but... a lot of unused space. Difficult to support anything. My least favorite thing is the soundproofing: you could really hear everything from the other rooms, from arguments to the shower. The mattress, blankets and cleanliness were excellent.
Nice and good service
Perfect hotel to spend some days in Malta. The personal is very kind (the restaurant personnel is exceptional. Always smiling and giving us a good service. The same with the reception staff. I recommend this hotel to all people. The breakfast is very good and the location of the hotel is perfect
Lovely friendly staff, spacious clean room and great location with easy access to buses and some great bars and restaurants.
Modern & very clean hotel in an ideal location for transport, sightseeing & restaurants. Our rooms were in the annex, and this is the poor cousin to the actual hotel; while annex staff were generally excellent, the communication between the annex and the hotel needs work (incorrect pricing was a key issue, amongst others).
Lack of shelving in toilet area and poor lighting there
Good Service
It does not quality as a 4 star hotel, not even 2. Room is outdated, curtains very wrinkled, furniture scratched and old. Elevator is ultra slow. Bathroom toiletries are the very basic. Over and above, no bottled water is provided in the room for coffee or tea, when I asked the guy at the front desk about it, he said you either go buy it for a nearby shop or wait till morning until the bar opens and you buy it from there!! The ad and pictures do NOT reflect the reality of the place. We were very dismayed. The only good thing in that place was the lady with the black long hair at the front desk who was very nice and helpful.
Not a family pick
Way tooo busy for a family trip plus we have to ask reception to help with noise in the rooms. We have this issue contstantly. They were super nice but guest were so laud at night plus you can hear noises from the street as well.
Hotel Argento was outstanding, we loved our 5 days staying at the Hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful the room was spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable and the Buffett breakfast was great. We cannot fault our time a perfect place to stay if visiting St Julian.
Very good hotel and nice staff
Location was pretty decent and the rooftop pool was pretty nice. The rooms did have a dated feel to them as well as the bathroom for four-star hotel. The breakfast buffet was pretty good although no one told us about the option to get custom made omelettes waffles or pancakes so if you stay there, make sure you start that on the first day! We didn’t know until day three.
Next to a building site
Unbelievably noisy
Great! I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is close to everything, the bus stop, dining options, etc. Friendly staff and we were able to keep our luggage stored until check-in. We were able to check-in one hour earlier too. The breakfast was very delicious. The area also felt very safe and very tourist friendly. Lots of things to do and see. Malta’s bus service is also very good.
Great staff
Very lovely spacious hotel, the breakfast was very tasty and had a lot of variety. Barham the receptionist was very lovely and sweet. 10/10 recommend
the staff at this hotel are very good and always went out of the way to make our stay comfortable. thanks to the staff in the reception , breakfast room and the cleaning staff.
Really pleased with this hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful and went the extra mile especially the manager of the breakfast buffet, (who would greet us by name). The buffet was well laid out and a good selection. Beds slightly uncomfortable, but overall a good choice and good value for money
Front office staff very good - helpful and friendly. The bed sheets don’t fit the bed and often mattress is exposed. No plug for bedside table poor design. Hotel good value for money. Houskeeping knock on the door very early in the morning to service the room and there is no DND sign.
Good service from front desk team, the breakfast was good! Rooftop pool had really good views of the city. It was unfortunate the hotel is next to a construction site at the moment.
Fantastic hotel great views over the bay quiet street just off the main one. Hotel staff very friendly and room cleaned every day. Nothing to fault
A nice little boutique hotel a couple minutes walk from Paceville without being in Paceville and without the noise. Close enough to the bay, lots of restaurants and a great walk from St. Julians all the way to Sliema - if you're up for it. Nice pool!
The Argento hotel itself is very good. The only thing i have against it is its location. I prefer to be near the sea and not in such a built up area. Ok for the younger generation. Just not my cup of tea.
Highly recommended
Worth every penny
Excellent
It was amazing and I would definitely like to return.
Nice clean hotel with a great breakfast. However on our first morning by the pool the manager come over to us in front of other guests and told us off like children for having a bathroom towel around the pool. Beach towels not given in the room, you have to ask. This is not shown anywhere. If you want it washed it’s 5 euros which is outrageous as it’s a reasonably expensive hotel to stay in.
The hotel is in a good location in Saint Julian’s - far enough away from the noisy party strip. The hotel is clean and recently refurbished - but not fancy for a 4 star hotel. The pool is nice but not very big. Overall a good stay.
Fab hotel
Great hotel in excellent location, lovely rooftop pool & beautiful breakfasts with loads of choices.
Staff was lovely, breakfast was excellent and a covod free experience. Rooms were comfortable and cleaned daily.
It was a nice hotel with nice people and nice location.
Nice, spacious room. Close to public transport links and various bars and restaurants, but quiet location overall as it's not on the main road. The only minimal problem would be with the window not closing properly so that noise from nearby building sites could be heard in the morning. The breakfast is average for the continental part but very nice for the cooked savoury part. All staff have been kind and friendly.
Clean, modern hotel in busy area with nightlife
ok the pool here is awesome, great view from roof deck. And the rooms are big! Very clean and modern. However, be forewarned, on weekends it can be a bit noisy because the hotel is in a nightlife district/area. A nice bonus though is that there is a nice beach (a rarity in Malta) just 3 minute walk from hotel. The hotel check in area a bit hard to find because its in a mall. But this is a great hotel all in all.
staff was super nice and lovely room. I was charged twice for the room but they realized immediately and issued a refund
Modern Hotel in San Giljan
Modern clean hotel located in the center of San Giljan. Easy to move all around Malta by Public transport, bus is 100 meters from the hotel. The only thing to improve in the rooms is the light. Even with all the lights open the room is very dark
Loved our stay at Argento
Lovely boutique hotel in a quiet area of St Julian’s. Check in went fine & very welcoming. Staff very helpful and always ready to help. Rooms very Clean & comfortable, beds so big super comfy. Everything you need in room including coffee & tea making facilities. Breakfast plentiful lots of choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only thing at the moment is they are renovating and there was no bar, but that didn’t bother us. I would recommend this hotel and would return.
THE PROPERTY WAS WELL LOCATED CLOSE TO RESTAURANTS AND A SHORT WALK TO SHOPS AND SPINOLA BAY
Good base for seeing the island and near bus routes which are excellent
Rooms nice and clean. Hotel doing some renervations which disrupted the bar so that wasn’t as described.
Disappointed
This was a huge disappointment to us. The lobby & bar area was under complete renovation during our stay. I understand this was due to water damage they have had. As much as I appreciate that these things happen and are sometimes unavoidable, had I known this beforehand I would have chosen another hotel. No mention of this on the hotel's own or hotels.com websites at all, neither was it at all mentioned when we checked in - were they hoping we wouldn't notice? We booked the most expensive room category (junior suite) and the room was spacious and clean. However the decor was so dark that it seemed like we were in a basement. Hardly any natural daylight. Not the 'suite' experience I accepted. The room was well-equipped and clean and had all necessary amenities. The roof terrace with it's tiny pool was a welcome feature and we spent a few hours up there. Plenty of sun loungers both in shade and sun. The breakfast buffet was excellent: plenty of choice and good quality food. However, ditch the coffee/tea machine and serve hot drinks to the tables instead... The staff in the hotel were very friendly and service minded and couldn't do enough for you. The location is central yet the street is like a big old building site...The hotel offers parking at EUR 10 per night but we were able to park on the street every day with no trouble (free of charge). This is NOT a 4 star hotel.
This was a great hotel close to downtown St Julian. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast and a nice pool.
The hotel was fine, building work was going on in the reception area. Breakfast was great lots of choices. The staff was second to none. Extremely helpful and accommodating. The location was excellent.
They started remodeling the lobby and were very loud, a lot of construction with guests inside.
The property, staff and food was excellent. There is absolutrly nothing we could fault. The cleaner was amazing. My hotel room has never been so tidy.
We were impressed with the care and courteous staff we the pleasure to deal with during our stay . Nothing was to much trouble? .The standard of the breakfast was great with a vast selection available.
Loved this hotel, spotless, staff were lovely, breakfast was great, lovely pool area, only little thing a would say, would be nice if there ere a few umbrellas where the actual pool is as it gets very hot, but would recommend this hotel.
Lovely, central boutique hotel in St Juliens
Stayed here with friends in august. Lovely hotel in a great, central location. Staff could not have been nicer, always ready to help and provide recommendations. Rooftop pool was very handy, music played during the day to add some atmosphere and there was even a bar service. Hotel was very walkable to the harbour or Paceville.
Great hotel, great location.
Lovely hotel. Great central location in St Julian’s. Close to everything we wanted. Friendly staff, very clean premises & rooms. Great breakfast with loads of choice. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends.
The staff were lovely. Incredibly helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is nice but our room was a little dated. Stained carpet and chipped paintwork, marked furniture. That is being picky but it is listed as a 4 star hotel. The pool is small as others have said and our balcony looked out onto a street with another hotel which was a bit noisy at night. Quite a bit of works going on in the local area with cranes etc which wasn't great.
The staff were very helpful when recommending places to visit and how to get there. There is a bus stop right at the bottom of the road, which is a 1 min walk if that. There is also a convenience store at the bottom, and an ATM. Breakfast was great, and had a wide selection of typical continental and cooked breakfast. All very fresh and tasty. We personally found the bed to be extremely comfortable, no issues whatsoever. The pool was nice for what it was, a little small but we never had any problems getting a bed.
Great location, room and hotel
Only issue - no AC in dining room. Otherwise excellent. View from balcony is of buildings opposite Triq il-Qaliet - street views. Ideally located - on bus route to Valletta and Truffeia bay.
Hotel round the corner from the main harbour in St Julians, so location great for a short break where you want to be close to everything. Pool on the small side but ok if you are just cooling off after a hot day, but you wouldn't want to stay there all day. Room modern, clean, with coffee making, fridge, safe, TV, hairdryer. Breakfast very good and included in our price.
This is the second time we have stayed at the argento first time was 4 years ago and it was just as we remembered lovely hotel extremely friendly staff breakfast is great and loads to choose from I could not say a bad thing about any part of our stay also the location is perfect loads of restaurants very close we payed the extra for parking which is a big plus if you are driving we will be using the hotel Argento again when we return to Malta
A few days in St Julians
Although the room was nice, the construction surrounding the hotel was overbearing. Being woken at 0900hrs whilst on holiday by hammering and cranes moving wasn't ideal. The location itself was great. I didn't agree with having to pay for a pool towel exchange, I understand the deposit but to pay 5 Euro for a clean towel was just silly. The courtesy room, to be used for a shower when checked out but awaiting a flight, is a great idea but is named incorrectly. If it was a courtesy they wouldn't be a charge of 10 Euros each to use it, make it free and it would be a nice touch.
Good location, easy to get to all parts of the islands.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of breakfast.
AC is not working.
Very nice hotel. Nice location. Clean. Large breakfast selection. Excellent customer service. They will ask you every morning if everything okay with your stay. And every morning I would mention that AC is not working. It just blowing room temperature air at night. When you turn AC in the evening, it would blow slightly cool air and it would warm up when you fall asleep! Then you would wake up in the middle of the night and room temperature would show +27C. Desperate for cool air, you open the balcony door to cool room down. Every day you just repeat the cycle. They ask if everything is Okay, you complain, and AC is blowing nice warm air on the middle of the night on a hot summer day! If you would like to take a gamble and see how much you can sweat at night book a room here! Personally I would avoid this establishment next time I visit Malta.
There was a lot of building work going on in the area. The view from the balcony was was essentially a building site and it was very noisy during the day. The sound proofing between rooms was pretty much non-existent. There was not a lot of atmosphere. And I didn’t like being disturbed during my breakfast to be asked how my stay was. The coffee at the breakfast buffet was horrendous. We should have researched the area better. The staff were very helpful and friendly though. Top marks for reception staff. And the room was nice and clean. The pool area was good.
Lovely staff, super friendly, very clean and an amazing breakfast with everything you could wish for .
Our stay
I booked this hotel cause I found a lot of good reviews, but at our stay wasn't that good. First of all I have to say the staff tried to solve the problems but not enough! There was a problem with the water pressure (wasn't strong at all) I complained about it they changed something there but it's still the same. The wifi was too poor in our room, we complained few times, one of the staff came to our room and showed us that in our 2 phones there's a problem and keep convincing us that the problem in our phones and said because there's a lot of people using the wifi and more! I have to say that at the pool, dinning room, lobby and other floors there was a good internet service. The staff keeped us in the same room during the stay without any solution, we left the hotel very disappointed cause we paid a lot of money for this vacation.
Nice hotel with good location
The room has good sound isolation and it is very tidy/clean. The breakfast is really nice with fried eggs and omoletes made upon request. The staff is very professional and friendly. A special thank you to Mr Mauricio for being very welcoming and giving us an early check in! This hotel has a nice location, with convenience shops and restaurants nearby.
Excellent staff very professional and courteous, super breakfast
The hotel is modern and well located. The staff are fantastic - friendly and always very helpfull. Breakfast didn't disappoint and is available till 10:30. We had a great stay and would recommend.
Central location in a built up area. Staff very helpful. Clean room . Good breakfast.
checkin very quick and efficient. staff is professional. breakfast is very good. room is big and clean. hotel is well centred close to restaurants and bars. easy access to public transport the builders started drilling outside our room at 7am on Saturday and 7am Monday again.
Hotel situated in very good location, staff friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was brilliant. My room didn’t get enough hot water, you have wait atleast an hour for the water to heat up after 2 people having bath. My room had terrible WiFi. You see good signal but can’t load websites.
Ok location but neighbourhood could be much better
A reasonable standard 4* hotel in a central location. Staff were very helpful and courteous at all times. Buffet breakfast was good. Rooms were OK - nothing special.
Stayed at the Argento many times before nice rooms Breakfast good Good location for exploring and to get public transport Good variety of restraunts nearby Room we had this time 514 was dark couldnt have curtains open as looked straight into oposite building Also needs carpet replacing in bedroom with tiles
The staff at The Argentoare fabulous, they are a credit to the management team.
The hotel has a very good position. The staff is very nice, always willing to help with good advices regarding the places to visit in Malta. The room itself needs some minor repairs, like the bathroom door or replacing tv remote batteries... Overall a very good choice to stay in Malta.
Nice and friendly hotel, excellent breakfast buffet!
good location reasonable price close to shops and restaurants. Bar area and opening times could be improved on to improve ambience
Great for couples
Fabulous boutique hotel close to restaurants and bus routes. Exceptional customer service and good selection of breakfast dishes. Nothing was too much trouble. Hotel was spotlessly clean. Only downside was limited tv channels, however this was not of great importance to us. Roof top pool looked very inviting, however not quiet the weather for it in March, but great views and plenty of sunbathing terraces.
I'm not sure how old this property is but it seems to be newly built, all furnishings and décor look new and fresh. My room was large with comfortable bed and cleaned daily with change of towels.Small moan is that I could find no English language channels on the TV-but not unduly bothered about that.
Excellent service. Breakfast was amazing, everything you could ever want. Friendly and very helpful staff. Will be booking again next year
Its a great location with everything walkable. St Julians is a stunning location. 25 min walk to Sliema, or things are accessible by bus for 1.50 Euro. The staff is friendly, the rooms are large and new. I would highly recommend Hotel Argento to anyone staying in Malta.
Lovely hotel
Nice trip before Christmas lovely hotel central
Everything was perfect I got very cheap price too
Great Hotel in Great location, close to everything yet on a quiet street. The hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Very clean rooms, excellent breakfast choice. I would certainly recommend it and i would definitely stay there again. Thank you Hotel Argento for our pleasant and comfortable stay. :)
From moment we arrived at this hotel we were greatly impressed with it. The staff are very friendly and a couple of little problems were sorted immediately. The room was large with plenty storage , power sockets in the best places, large safe and the bathroom modern and spacious. Despite the building work at the side of the hotel which was nearly finished we couldn’t hear it from our room. Very nice roof top decked area with a small pool. Up a street from the very busy main road with the bus stop a couple of minutes away and lots of excellent restaurants near.

Excellent service.
