No air conditioning, one day we lost power for a while. There was sometimes a bad smell coming from outside.

The hotel is definitely worth the price especially with its location being in the city centre and the cleanliness of the room.

Very clean property with staff there all the time and extremely helpful. It was very close to the bustling area of Las Ramblas. It was just about walking distance from the train station but we worked out it was 6 stops on the Metro with no changes so worth taking that, which we did on our return journey!

Easy to get to restaurants on La Ramblas.

Great value literally steps from La Rambla and the metro station. Super convenient but also quiet and secure. Awesome stay!!

A great value compared to other full service hotels in this area. Very basic room with one complimentary bottle of water. Simple and clean. Excellent location to La Rambla and all of its wonderful attractions. Not for those who want fancy and extras. But perfect for anyone just wanting a nice, quiet, comfortable and safe place to sleep.

I booked a double room for myself only. The room would be cramped with 2 persons so I agreed with all reviews that the space was terrible. The only positive was the location. However, there are many hotels nearby. So I suggest to research all hotels in the area when making reservation. Hotel staff was nice and friendly.

Really enjoyed staying here! Off on side street but steps to Las Ramblas and all the restaurants, shops, etc. Felt comfortable walking around at night. Hotel staff extremely friendly and would always greet us and ask if they could help with something. Would definitely return here!

We were very comfortable with our accommodations. The big attraction was that we were so close to the main tourist street. Everything of interest with certain exceptions was right there.

Great place to stay off a side street of La Rambla. Very close to L3 metro stop, La Boqueria, and the Gothic Quarter. Clean, quiet, and comfortable rooms. Friendly staff.

Centrally located. Rooms are quite small, washrooms reasonable but kept cleaned. staff were helpful.

Nice Place

Nice place to stay just off Ramblas. Clean, tidy and fresh room with decent space in bedroom and bathroom. Plenty of dining options nearby. Had a kettle in the room but no tea bags or coffee to use.

Great location right off La Rambla, close to a main train station for easy access around the city. AC didn’t work very well in the room, but otherwise a great stay!

Location perfect for exploring La Rambla, the harbour, and the Gothic Quarter, and the metro station is 1 minute walk away. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was basic but fine for the price, decent sized fridge and safe. Shower very spacious but water pressure low. Beds pretty firm, room overal quite stuffy. Decent enough though for two nights away.

The hotel and the staff were great and its location was excellent. The room was clean and very quiet. Las Ramblas was only a few minutes away on foot and the dining options were plentiful.

Chambre suffisamment grande, lits confortables, extrêmement bien situé près de la Ramblas, sécuritaire, bref, nous avons été très satisfaits. Lors de notre arrivée, des travaux étaient en cours à la réception et dès le soir même, tout semblait avoir été complété par magie. Nous avons adoré le côté "amical" du service où on ne formalise pas avec un porteur de valises.

Perfect location

Very good central location, in a little side street of La Rambla, next to Liceu metro, 5min from La Boqueria market and less than 15min from Rambla de Mar. Great little brunch restaurant in the same street (Eggs and Co). Nice minimalist room and bathroom. Only problem was the noise at night as people were partying and shouting in the street.

We enjoyed our stay, nice room with a small balcony and fridge, close to Liceu metro station and Las Ramblas. All the front desk employeea were very helpful. They have luggage storage and even a vending machine in the lobby. Would stay again.

Awesome hotel in the heart of Barcelona. The room itself was very clean and comfortable, very nice shower and everything felt recently renovated. The location is perfect and right next to the metro station which can take you everywhere. We would definitely come back!

Great location. Easy check in and check out. Not fancy but great if you want to experience the city and just sleep there.

Awesome location and a great hotel. The room was just at the right size, convenient and good amenities. The guys at the reception were very nice and helped with every request or question.

Stayed for 5 nights. Conveniently located. 5 minutes walk to metro. Lots of choices for dinning and shopping. Room is clean and tidy but a bit small especially the bathroom. No where to put your personal hygienic stuff.

Located just few steps from Liceu metro station in La Ramblas. Few minutes walking from the La Boquira market. The hotel inside is already renovated, very modern, and clean. I will definitely come back to this hotel!

Place to stay off Rambla

Hotel was great; quiet and comfortable. The light on the AC unit was bright, dod not detract from our stay. Location was perfect for the tourist areas in that part of Barcelona. Liceu subway station allowed good access to Sants station, Parc Guell, Sagrada Familia(L5 change), etc. Cafe 365 (2 min walk west) did a decent/convenient coffee/croissant type breakfast.

Excellent Location

This hostal is in an excellent location at a reasonable price. The rooms are clean with comfy beds and nice decor. The bathroom and shower were perfect and very modern. All staff were very friendly and always helpful when needed. Whilst the complimentary bottle of water is nice, a kettle with cups would be good to enjoy coffee on waking. This is my only negative about Hostal Operambles. Everything else was perfect :-)

My stay at Hostal Operaramblas was perfect! Friendly check-in, very nice, clean room, wonderful location. You really cannot beat staying here. I would (and have already) recommend it to anyone I know visiting Barcelona. I will absolutely stay there the next time I visit. What a find!

This is a great place to stay. Very clean and comfortable with friendly staff. It is very close to all amenities and tourist attraction areas. The metro station "Licue" is just a few steps away. This place is highly recommended.

Location perfect near old city, perfect transportation hub easy access to trains, busses and affordable cabs to most historical/art/entertainment sites, excellent food/drink/shopping very nearby. Very clean and eco-friendly. Will stay there again.

Great location! Just off of the pedestrian walkway Las Ramblas! 100 Meters to the famous market Mercado de La Boqueria. 50 meters to a subway stop. 500 meters to the starting point of the Hop on Hop off busses. Front desk operator (Luis?) was extremely helpful, spoke English and took good care of my wife and I. Gracias

I had a single room and even though it was small it was very clean and modern, a very comfortable stay. The location is unbeatable, it's right where Liceu station is and is amongst a lot of attractions and good eats, very walkable and well connected. Staff were courteous and were around 24/7. Please note this doesn't have a kitchen area or a laundry service (if that's important to you), but there are a few laundromats nearby that were reasonably priced. It's not a hostel to meet new people either (again if that's important to you), I noticed there were families, older people and couples, people just kept to themselves. I didn't mind this at all, but something to think about if you're seeking the more usual hostelling experience.

Familiarity - we’ve stayed before and will stay again. Location - steps from La Rambla with all the convenience of shopping, restaurants, transportation, but none of the noise.

Only there for 1 night, single room small but extremely neat, tidy, clean and modern. Fantastic location, within easy walking distance of everything you need. Only minor thing was would be nice to have a little fridge as was visiting in summer and having a cold drink in your room would be nice.

It was exactly what I was looking for, a reasonably priced hotel close to La Rambla, With a metro stop on the corner. It was clean and everyone was very pleasant.

we absolutely adore barcelona!!! this hotel is located very close to las ramblas, the walking shopping area. about 10-12 minute walk to Plaça de Catalunya.

Good value and nice staff - could improve

Good location right next to the Ramblas and Liceu theatre. Generally clean and very nice reception staff. The safe was not working and there was no soap in the room, which was a pain but there are safes at reception and soap was sourced so that was a minor inconvenience only. My room was on the ground floor and I could hear people talking until very late due to proximity with the reception. Also I saw a cockroach in the morning. It happens but was not nice. So all together OK but not that great. Good value however for a basic room in the centre.

Great central location for walking and exploring

Perfect central location for Barcelona and Las Ramblas. The metro stop and market are in very close walking distance. The rooms are fairly basic, but comfortable. The staff was very helpful.

Fantastic location, very clean

Location is just fantastic, 30 sec from Liceu station. Single room is bit small but good enough to stay for one person. Overall there is no negative thing and will definitely be back to this hotel again.

The room was very nice and quiet. Bed comfortable, and bathroom clean and modern. It would be nice to have the common fridge somewhere open, or have a small fridge in the room. Vacuuming the floor could be more frequent. Overall good.

Great location

The location is perfect as it is just along La Rambla and the Boqueria Market. It is also just near The pick up and drop off point for airport transfers. You can also leave your luggage even after checking out. They also lent me their vacuum to help me pack my winter jackets.

Absolutely nothing to complain about. Large and very clean room. Very comfortable. Convenient location and very reasonable price. When back in Barcelona I would definitely stay in Hostal Operaramblas.

standard was very good clean environment, free toiletries, staff was helpful. Only problem was i paid in Pounds only to be charged in Euro which lead to my bank charging for foreign transaction which wasn't the case. It'd be helpful if this was stated in the other information section of their booking page which wasn't. Location was perfect for me, at the heart of La Rambla which leads to the major part of the city with walking distance to star attractions and shopping district

The place was super clean. Bed and furniture are in great condition. The staff are nice and helpful. The only thing is rooms are too small but you get what you pay for. Overall, the place is excellent!

Hair mess

Sheets was not changed. Hair all over the bed. But we love the modern look of it.

This is a fantastic base for any trip to Barcelona! The location is awesome, the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!!

Amazing hotel!

We had one night before a cruise and wanted to be close to Las Ramblas. The hotel was easy to find and close to any of the choices you would want for the Barcelona experience: Shopping, restaurants water-front, Hop-on, hop-off bus and a metro stop that made getting around so easy! The desk staff was friendly and helpful and they provided bottled-water for the hot day. Room had a small balcony and air conditioning so we could close out the alley noise at night. Helpful to know that it is just off of the main street so your taxi will need to stop at the corner and you have to walk 1/2 a block. If using cabify, take note of the restaurant name on the corner to use as a pickup point, or check out using the Metro, (touch screen to buy tickets in English makes it even simpler).

Property was close to everything convenient for shopping in touring

Modest and unpretentious, it was a clean, friendly base for exploring. Close to the Ramblas and Liceu metro station, but quiet.

BUYER BEWARE -YOU WONT GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

Worst experience ever. Booked and paid for superior room with two twin beds. Ended up with one single bed with one of us sleeping on the floor. Did not get what I paid for and hotel refused to accept responsibility for their errors. Denied any responsibility for it and left us with a take it or leave it offer on the room with no refund available. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND OR STAY THERE AGAIN

It was very central so you could get almost anywhere (Pl. Catalunya, la Rambla, the beach) by foot.

It was a clean room, nice facility. It wasn't always pleasant to walk out the door onto what was basically an alley.

This place is very centric and comfortable. I love my room is very comfortable and clean .

Good hotel, would stay here again

Hotel was simple but great! Nice and clean, comfortable beds, great wifi, great location near the Ramblas. The street itself was a bit sketchy but I didn't necessarily feel unsafe. Would stay here again.

No Air condition, after they offered it. We had to open doors and heard all noises on street all night long! No mirror in the room, only on bathroom!

Great price and great location.

This was our first stop of several during a 2 week stay in Spain and Portugal. We chose this hotel because of the price and location. The room was as expected based on other reviews.We were on the street side which was a bit noisy though I had read that on other reviews as well. The gentleman at the front desk recommended a great tapas bar the night we arrived which was a lot of fun and the food was great. All in all, if you can deal with some night life noise on the weekends, it is a great hotel for the price.

Tiny rooms but in great condition and in a perfect area.

Staff was friendly, facilities were prob remodeled relatively recently because it was in great condition. The room was clean, no issues with bugs. Proximity to Gothic Quarters made this an excellent location. However, at night, you shouldn't go west because you'll quickly end up in a very shady neighborhood.

It could have been ok

I was given a room facibg the street. The door to the balcony did not close and I had pretty much the street temperature in my room. Even worse the hotel's room did not work. I returned home ill. The street is very dirty and full of drunk people making a mess.

Clean, friendly and very well located

Hostel Operaramblas was perfect for our first visit to Barcelona. It is ideally located, with comfortable walking access to the entire Old City and the Placa Catalunya (an important bus transportation hub) and one block from Metro stops for access to other sites. The staff is multi-lingual, friendly and helpful. We will not hesitate to stay there again.

I like the hotel

The hotel is clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and easy. It's located in Las Ramblas busy neighborhood however, the room was quiet and I slept without problems. My room was clean, quiet and spacious. The bathroom was super nice with great shower. The disinfected toilet is a good thing. The fact that there's no breakfast is a downside. The location of the hotel is good though La Rambla at night has some annoying activties! Barcelona is a big city. Normally it will take some time to visit certain places according to the location of your hotel.. Barcelona is an extremely beautiful city, I totally recommend visiting if you are still thinking about it. I will very likely come back to "Hostal Operaramblas".
