The entrance was in the middle of repairing. The elevator terrible, the room so small, the bathroom crqcked and leaking. I want my money back!

Cleaning staff were so great and so much more helpful than reception. Hotel is very close to many stores, restaurants, and places of interest.

Bus stop to town is across the road, the property is closed to a shopping complex, the property is very clean and safe. The owners have left very clear instructions on how to Access the property and other instructions inside the property. It will be better to get a phone call just to check on us, because I tried to phone but no one got back to me. I will definitely stay again.

Wonderful experience! From location, cleanliness, quietness inside the room, modern and big room. Staff was wonderful and helpful with anything needed.

Had two spend two nights in the mid of july with a heat wave that wasel hitting barcelona without air conditioning the first tine they told us that a technician is coning the other morninng to fix the ac the other morning no one came, then they told us they will do ut the other morning so they did.to add that the staff was not helpful and rude, he said he has no solution for us and he turned his back and left. NEVER AGAIN. To mention also, i contacted the hotel apparently the guy at the reception received my message and he told me you gave a feedback about me, however i have no approach from the hotel .

Not good

Room is very tiny and the the shower is not fit for anyone of a large size. Pictures are false advertising. Everything is sooo tiny here!

Cool ac , good location , small elevator, if you going with big luggage you won’t fit with them on the elevator, what we did we send them on the elevator and we went on the stairs is only 2 flors , the rooms are not sound prof , but is ok for the price , also regular Ubers won’t be able to make it to the front only yellow taxi, but the rest was good

This place is well located

Perfectly adequate property, centrally located on La Rambla with good public transport links. Accommodation is small but ok, it’s no frills but perfectly useable - not somewhere you’d spend hours chilling in your room but there is lots to see and do in the city which is no problem. Access is via a narrow staircase or a single person lift to the second floor. Staff are polite and helpful with any requests. Could be a bit noisy in the middle of the night as some of the younger occupants returned from their nights out

The elevator is a joke

It was clean and comfortable and staff were nice enough, the area was very noisy though and the hotel walls were thin. The air con worked well and they produced enough white noise to drown out the noise. Overall a pretty good stay for the price and despite the area being noisy it was well located for exploring the city

The location of the hotel is great…and cleanliness of the room can’t be faulted. BUT it is a small, low class hotel and our room was literally next to reception so you can hear everything going on there at all hours. There are no frills at all. But if you want to be close to the market or la Rambla then it’s perfect!!

Elevator was on second floor, not first and tiny, no room for luggage and 1 person. Room was in disrepair. Bathroom was yucky. Not worth the price. Renovate the place.

First of all… the elevator they have is to small is just for one person, which means you need to put your bags first to the floor you go and then call the elevator for your self, the guy wasn’t helping at all to you to instruct you about the use of elevator or your room locations, the room has some walls whit big cracks, the courtains on the window they didn’t cover all the way so you have the light on your room, the person in charge to clean the room next day didn’t cleaning it at all not even the bathroom, I ask for a hot of cup water to the front person and they said they don’t have it but they have a microwave, when I told him that he said you can use it if you want, I ask him for a cup and he says here it is is duty you have to wash it.. so honestly cero service.

Location location location. This property on La Rambla is the main reason we decided to stay here. It is right across the metro stops and Gothic quarters and other major sites to see are all walkable. We were warned to be aware of pick pocketers on the street but luckily we did not have any mishappenings. The property itself is very very basic. The room was ok, paint chipping off and one thing that we did not like was the bathroom did not have a lock/ had sliding door. Also the exhaust in the bathroom did not work properly. If one person is using the bathroom, it is better the other room occupants should stay out!

Property is in the center of busy tourist area and close to the Mercado and subway. Very convenient.

The good thing is that is in the most walkable area in Barcelona, "La Rambla". The hotel is in good condition but it is a Hostal not a Hotel. The staff are really nice.

Best Location

I don’t think the advertisement meets the reality; extremely small rooms, black mold on ceiling, one night came and no power, no staff to talk to and no phone number to contact them. Several stairs to gel to the hostal. One person elevator available. Positive: location and friendly staff.

its in the middle of the town

Property is on good location ,cleanliness and security is perfect. But elevator is super tiny only one person, and room is not correspond with price because is small, mattress hard and bathroom super small.

We were a little concerned when we arrived not sure what we had booked! But to our surprise it was a great stay! One of the beds was a bit older than the other ones so it was hard to sleep on that one! We kind of scouched in and slept all on 2 twin beds. Overall a good experience

I particularly liked the convenient location close to attractions and with a close metro station.

Access to property is very narrow, lift is not even fit one person properly yet alone a bag. Staff was nice but owner refused to cancel our part booking since we wanted to get out of it

Great location on the ramblas. Clean and comfortable. We had a quadruple room 2 adults, 3 children) the stairs up to it are quite narrow but there is a small lift. The air conditioning was very effective.

Lacked facilities and was in need of repair. Wallpaper was falling off and the lock on the balcony door was broken. Staff weren’t the most helpful - would only give us two plastic cups for our 3 night stay.

Perfect location

Perfect location. We’re at the middle of everything. Few steps from the hotel is metro. Opposite the hotel is buqueria market, very accessible wherever you go. The only downside is the lift that only one person can fit into it. Inside the room, the bathroom door is squeky, we lift it to open or close to avoid that noise. It smells maybe coming from the drainage. The faucet are rusty but it’s working fine anyway. The staff in reception is really nice, sorted straight away the ripped wall paper. They clean the room everyday and they changed the towel everyday as well.

Great stay!!!

This apartment is good for short stay were you only use it for sleeping and the whole day you are out roaming around Barcelona. It’s only infront of the famous market in La Rambla area and you can walk towards Plaza Catalunya, Casa Batillo, La Pedrera, Port of Barcelona and a lot more if you will just follow the map with planned itinerary. Everything you need is walking distance like restaurants, shopping, market, etc. The price is just ok for the 4 of us. The only thing that is not really working well of the lift and only 1 person can go in because its so tiny and we ended up always climbing the stairs and its very tiring from having a long walks touring around Barcelona. But if you are fuzzy and wants a very comfortable bed, this place might not suit you. For us its ok because we are just using it mainly to have a good rest and sleep. We ride the taxi on our way back to the airport and we paid €38. The bus fare cost €5.75 each and will drop you to Plaza Catalunya and from there its just a short walking distance to the apartment. We will definitely go back again and choose this place if available.

This place was Sooo good! We didn’t care about the biggest room or comfiest bed. The room was sufficient for my husband and I and had clean sheets and blankets. There was a small but clean bathroom. The lobby always smelled nice and was clean and had great hosts! This place was a steal of a deal because of where it is located! Holy cow! Couldn’t have stayed at a better place location wise! I highly recommend!

Room was very clean and comfortable, great location right on Rambla. Great AC. Modern bathroom. Easy check-in and checkout.

Although the hotel is on the main busy street (La Ramblas), the room is quiet and clean. The check-in process was easy and time-efficient.

we had several suitcases and the staff was very helpful with getting them to the room, but we had to climb at least 4 flights of very narrow stairs with the remaining bags. The beds were very sprung and not comfortable. The room was clean and in decent condition.

Big problem whit air conditioner, elevator sometimes no work

Everything about this place was good. It was located in front of the metro, the Rambla, the market and it was near everything. The room was clean, the place was clean and there was nothing wrong with this place. You couldn’t even hear what was going on outside.

The lift is verry little and therefore it‘s nearly unpossible to reach the reseption with big suitcases ! But for one night it‘s ok ! The price for the night and for the whole location is in my opinion to high !

Its in the middle of the Ramblas, very noice area, virtually no locals .. No lobby, Stairs are for advance level, elevator only a small child could fit confortable, vintage unit scary to get on it. The pictures of the room are accurate with latest edition photo shop..

Las Ramblas

The hostel was situated on the Main Street which was a big plus! Our room was very clean but, there was a leak in the shower but I’m sure they knew that. Other than that it was a pleasant stay for a first time at a hostel.

Room was extremely small, I could only sit on the toilet turn sideways toilet is about 6 inches from the wall in front of the toilet.. Bed was extremely uncomfortable, air-conditioner worked poorly. Tiny tiny room And overpriced. I would not recommend this hotel I’ll never go back.

Great location! Easy check in, nice room!

I read previous reviews and noticed mostly all complaints were unjustified. There is an elevator to use all the way up- so there's no need to have to go up all the stairs (as this hotel is on midfloor of apt bldg). Only reason I couldn't give excellent on room was due to line being a little eh... but overall the cleanliness was great!! I was alone so had twin "cot" which I read people complain about but I slept just fine! I could walk everywhere. I'd stay again.

Well the property was clean but didn’t look as good as the pictures. Staff was very helpful from the receptionist to the cleaning lady. And of course no complaint about the area since the property is at la rambla

Smelly room, otherwise a good choice.

Perfect location, right across the market on La Ramblas and a metro stop. There are no staff at the hotel, the staff is located at their other hotel which is a short walk away, but the staff wasnt particularly friendly. My room smelled like sewer that was my biggest complaint.

Comfortable and well located

Can't beat the location, right in the middle of La Ramblas with easy access to shops, the beach and plenty of sights to see. The hostal was comfortable and house keeping came everyday to do the room. Good air conditioning and plenty of hot water. There are fridges to use if need to keep a few things chilled, there wasn't a system to it so it looked like there were a few bits and pieces left in there by previous guests that hadn't been thrown out. If you're looking for somewhere central at a good price then this is a great place to stay.

Decent hotel, great location.

Nice clean hotel right in the heart of La Rambla, location is great. Rooms are basic but functional, nice bathroom and shared common coffee area. Pleasant staff, good value overall.

Nice Hostal well located along the ramblas

We had a great time in Barcelona and found the location of this hostal to be perfect to easily get to most of the attractions including a short stroll to the sea front. There are plenty of restaurants right on your doorstep and of course the famous market right across the street. We stayed in a room at the back of the hostal and it was very quiet at night other than hearing water running through the pipes (not a moan).

Location Cannot be Beat

The hostel is in a perfect location - centrally located on La Ramblas. There is a teeny-tiny elevator to bring bags up to the hostel location, but you must first carry up bags a few stairs before accessing the elevator. Room was clean and comfortable. No frill place - but exactly what we expected. Room prices are fair - but not a "bargain" hostel rate. There is another hostel/hotel (Atlas) around the corner owned by the same Indian family, and is comparable if Hostel BCN Ramblas is sold-out. Also, they kindly held our luggage on the day of our departure for our late-day flight.

Really great location right on Las Ramblas with a metro stop right outside the front door. The place was really clean and staff were really friendly, would definitely stay here again!

The best ever location i can find in Barcelona It's in the main street of La Ramble and opposite to the metro station L3 Liceu which makes everything easy, get lost as you want then at anytime by the metro u will be home Comfort, clean, friendly staff and everything was perfect for solo traveller Just the lift is for 1 person and I was with only a backpack and i don't know if there was a luggage what was gonna happen

Clean, very comfortable and great Location

Clean, very comfortable and great Location , offers great Value . we have a nice couple of days here , could travel to various parts easily and right in middle of la ramblas street and opposite bouqeria market this is a very good place to stay. only things to take care are narrow strairs and small elevator but not any issues for couples.

Excellent hostel, excellent location, great price

The room was very clean and very spacious. The balcony was a great addition and very good for people watching. The bathroom was small but had all you needed with a big shower and very hot water! Storage space was good. The reception and our room was up around 6 flights of stairs with 4 steps each but there was a 2-man lift! The check-in process was surprisingly quick; they just needed a copy of my passport and i received the keys. Check-out was just as quick. The location was excellent. You are on La Rambla, the main road with bars/restaurants some shops. There was a market across the road which was great. 5 minute walk from Placa Catalunya where you get the coach from/to the airport. We took the metro to get to Sagrada Familia but everything else is very walkable. I'd definitely stay there again. It was surprisingly more like a hotel than a hostel and they made our beds every day!

Wall paper is peeling and needs replacement. It is shabby!

Great location and very clean

Very pleasantly surprised. Despite reading some negative reviews, we booked this hostel primarily for its location. OUTSTANDING location with all the hustle and bustle outside the front door. The room was large for the three beds (two adults and a 16 year old). It was very clean and the bathroom was very modern with an amazingly powerful rain shower. There was a hairdryer, which I had not expected, shampoo, shower gel and soap and some lovely clean fluffy towels. There was air-conditioning which was great as it was warm in the day but cold at night. The only negative was the tiny lift up to the hostel which only really fits 1 person comfortably or 2 at a push. But at least there was a lift. Room looked out over a back alley (a bit noisy at night) who cares with Barcelona to explore. Would stay again if we ever go back to Barcelona. BEWARE - our taxi driver took us to La Rambla de Catalunya rather than La Rambla and tried to get us to pay extra to take us to the right one despite it being his mistake. He claimed the address on the hotel confirmation was wrong - but it wasn't! We chose to walk the extra 25 minutes to the right hotel address but it was frustrating as it was late and a waste of time and money. When we got to the hotel, they staff told us this often happened and that taxi drivers tried it on! We were annoyed as we usually use public transport for our transfers which - in this case - would have been quicker and cheaper! It did get our trip off to a bad start.

Excelent location

Hotel convenient for young travelers. In front of Mercado San José La Boquerìa. Clean room. Hostal located in second floor of residential property. No big lobby or amenities like those found in big hotels.

Room was tiny which was disappointing as not as per photo but it was immaculately clean. Stairs up to elevator were challenging with luggage. Host was very helpful and friendly. Was in a great location.

Great location. I was coming from you working in Iraq as a single traveler. If your looking for a stay with a great location and dont mind sleeping in a closet size room your good. The room was really up to date just small.

Only room to sleep

The room was small, which is to be expected from a hostel, but the bathroom was extremely tight. The room wasn't soundproofed and you could hear almost everything happening on the floor. The staff were surprisingly helpful though with recommendations and places to visit. Just beware that the entrance is a little difficult to navigate. Especially with suitcases. The elevator barely fits 1 person.

Room was small but comfy. Shower was lovely. Situated in a perfect area with the market right outside your doorstep and everything else in waking distance. Stayed in the room right next to reception so a bit loud. Had a nice stay. Would definitely book again.

June 2015 stay at Hostal BCN Ramblas

Room was good but bathroom was a bit small. Could not sit on the toilet without hitting the wall. The free upgraded room at the end of the stay was great though!

Nice rooms and staff, but touristy location

Hotel located in an old building in a very busy street full of tourists. Despite initial first impressions of building and elevator, actual hotel is small, well-maintained and very helpful staff. I'd likely stay next time in quieter hotel, but if you want a good value in central location, this is fine choice.

Great location along La Rambla

The Hostal Bcn Ramblas is located on La Rambla, right in front of the Mercado de La Boqueria with Metro access 15 feet away. The location is the best aspect of the hotel. The room was small but clean with a modern bathroom and efficiently laid out. The staff was more than helpful with information and services. The only down side was the 4 to 5 story flight of stairs but there is a small elevator provided if you notice it when you arrive.

Great Stay!!!

We stayed here last week and had a great experience. The hotel is situated across from the Marcet and the very busy la Rambla. If you are looking for a great place for night life and shopping this location is perfect for you. The metro is right across so it’s very convenient. The hotel staffs are very friendly and the room is spacious and inviting. We will diffidently be returning here...it’s across from my favorite outside Market.

Great location on La Rambla

This is a hostal so don't expect luxury. It is though in a fantastic location and is perfectly adequate. We probably had the best room, 101, which had a small balcony overlooking La Rambla. Great for people watching but not so good for sleeping due to noise all night from revellers.

Prime Location

Don't let the entranceway from the street (which looks less than enticing) fool you. This is a perfect place to stay and explore Barcelona from. We booked a double en suite room and were taken aback by the standard and cleanliness of the room. The room was also very quiet with no disturbance at all from the busy Ramblas just beneath us. I couldn't recommend these rooms highly enough for any couple wanting to explore Barcelona.

An hotel to enjoy

In this 5 star hotel, everything comes with a price - sometimes steep if you are not used to it. Breakfast buffet offers a varied choice of food. Drinks may seem pricey at first, but they are doubles or more. Music in the piano-bar was loud at times. Very good location. Staff is polite and always eager to help. Service is provided in many languages. A very enjoyable stay overall.

Perfect location, clean and tidy, perfect

Spot on, absolutely perfect location. Room was small but hey ho who is there for any more than a couple of days?? Stayed in room 109 a little noisy but again your in the heart of la Ramblas what do you expect. All in all I would definitely stay again!!!! Ps staff very nice.
