Facade is uninviting, and it is a good 4.5 K from busy Hoi An. Inside the rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfortable. Staff only too willing to please. It’s decent value for money, but you won’t be wowed. Very good shuttle service necessary given distance from town.

Nice view, would stay again

Beautiful place

Love the place and staff. Very clean and quiet and beautiful. My only downside is location. It's a bit far from anything if you just want to wall out and explore. But they do have a shuttle that brings you the the beach or to downtown so it's easy to get there.

Great hotel we loved the the location very quiet on the river ....the staff were very helpful and pleasant ....especially Jack ..!!! .rooms were large and very comfortable beds ...WiFi needs to improve and also breakfast dishes need to be hotter .....overall a really good stay didn’t want to leave ...

I had a very special time here. Location was great because it’s a few minutes out of town, is quiet and the perfect place to rejuvenate before heading back Into the crazy hustle and bustle of Hoi An’s town centre. Free shuttle to town or locals beach. Staff are amazing, very hospitable. Rooms spotless, food good, views of the lake so peaceful and breathtaking.

The rooms and location are lovely. Simple things that could make the stay more pleasant are; Better poolside service - Beer bottles were left poolside overnight. We often had to request towels at the pool. Despite staff having nothing to do at the restaurant next to the pool no one ever came to see if you wanted any food or drinks. More attentive staff at the restaurant- flys would often be all over the fruit at breakfast and the staff didn’t have the initiative to cover the fruit or turn on the fans without prompting. We ate lunch and dinner at the restaurant for a couple of days as we had a sick child. It was disappointing to wait for such a long time for basic food (half an hour for sandwiches). The food was also overpriced and not particularly good. The shuttle is convenient but stops at two other hotels along the way, so allow half an hour to get to the old town this way. Still a comfortable place to stay away from the busy old town and with a few minor improvements it could be an excellent choice.

Hotel was nice with all the basic facilities and right next to the river. No complains whatsoever about the accommodation as it was more than what we expected. I did however pay extra to have my room upgraded as there was less privacy in our original room. However what made this whole stay a memorable one was due to the fact that their guest relations manager ‘Sunny’ went an extra mile to ensure our needs were well met by arranging for our tours, cars massage etc. I really want to give her a lot of credit for she is great with all her guests and will do everything she can to make their stay a good one. Coco river resort, Sunny is an asset to your hotel and she has done a good job at least enabling us to leave Hoi An with a smile on our face. Thank you Sunny for all your help during our stay there.

Great hotel to explore Hoi An

We stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful time. Although it is not a mega-resort like some of those near DaNang, it has all the needed amenities. Around the hotel there is not a lot available to eat short of the hotel's restaurant. We spent most days at An Bang beach or Hoi An. The hotel shuttle offer free drop off or pick-up. If you miss the shuttle, it is only a 10 min. ride to Hoi An. the hotel staff were very helpful. Ted and Jenna provided suggestions for things to do and places to eat. They also arranged an out-of -this world day tour for us including bamboo boat ride, a private cooking class, My Son sanctuary, and an evening ride to Hoi An. Ethan, Steve, Fiona, Kevin, and Sunny were always helpful, friendly to our children, and they always tried their best to help with our requests. Peter was one of the shuttle driver that took us to Hoi An many times day and night. Our kids loved the place and highly recommend it. You cannot stay within Coco River resort during your stay but you will have to go out to see Vietnam and meet its wonderful and friendly people!

We will be back

We stayed at the Hoi An Coco River Resort & Spa for 4 nights in mid September 2017. It was great. We were upgraded to a Pool & River View room on the 3rd floor, it was quite, clean and had a great view from our balcony. We had a problem with locking our door and they fixed it within 10 minutes of letting them know. We ate at the flouting restaurant a couple of times during our stay, the Food & Beverage Manager Mr. Khanh and Barman Thinh and staff where so helpful and the food was fantastic. The Resort Manager Vinh introduced himself to us when we arrived and could not have been more helpful. The Pool is so warm and clean, we used at least twice every day. The shuttle bus into town was so helpful & and we just got an Uber back to the resort when we wanted, for 50,000 VND = $2.95 AUD GREAT PLACE TO STAY & RELAX - Far enough away from the hustle & bustle, but still close enough.

Relaxing and Well Positioned Boutique Hotel

Loved this place! If you are after a boutique, peaceful and relaxing environment this is the place to come. It has a fantastic restaurant situated right on the river with lovely views. The food was great! Would recommend the Cooking Lesson they run there. A free shuttle runs from the front door to Hoi An Old Town and to the Beach at regular times throughout the day which made staying 3kms out of town the best of both worlds. The Manager Vinny and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were huge, very clean and well equipped. My only complaint would be that the beds are very hard (but that was the only issue we had). The swimming pool was great and very inviting at 6am when it was 25 degrees! The massages and facials at the on site spa were amazing and very well priced.

Tropical Paradise

The resort is set away from Hoi An , just a 15 minute shuttle ride away . Rooms are well spaced to give you reasonable privacy , the pool is the main feature with the restaurant eye catching views over the river , a very relaxing atmosphere . If you had children they are catered for with a play room with staff to look after them . Meals at restaurant are first class and very friendly staff , all in all a very relaxing stay.

Great hotel at reasonable price

The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much effort. The shuttle service was handy and the pool/garden surrounds lovely. The only down side was that nothing was within walking distance. This however wasn't an issue due to the shuttle and low taxi cost (between 60-100 dong one-way to the city or beach).

Beautiful relaxing hotel

Very helpful staff, large rooms, good breakfast. Shuttle bus to town and beach the only downside is there is nothing else close if you dont want to go into Hoi An although why wouldn't you!

Wonderful Resort on the River!

This is a lovely resort in a peaceful area. Don't worry about the distance to Hoi An, the hotel has a free shuttle to take you there. The restaurant on the river was very peaceful - a great place to enjoy a quiet and delicious breakfast. The room was large and the bathroom/shower room fabulous. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel and view but humid

hotel has nice view and restaurant. staff is helpful and kind. hotel is little bit far from ancient village but shuttle bus takes you to town(also taxi is cheap) but bed is quite hard to keep long sleep and humid. huge bathtub makes long time to fill up the water.

Nice place

Nice clean room, mattress on bed a bit hard. The grounds and the pool are lovely, the stuff very friendly and helpful but some of the reception stuff could do with basic English course. The resort is very relaxing except on weekends when it is usually full with families and it gets very noisy (specially around the swimming pool). Other times is was perfect and quiet. The shuttle bus to the beach and the old town is very convenient and we used it every day. There are no eateries in walking distance, the resort restaurant is nice enough but slightly pricey comparing to elsewhere. When the renovations are done and the second restaurant and the massage hut are finished it will improve the resort. All in all, we had a nice relaxing holiday.

Simple hotel

It was simple. Not as luxury hotel, not to near the city. But very quiet and chip. One of bad thing is the room wasn't separat to shower room. Just have a curtain.

Small charming resort

Free pickup and spa was great value for money. However hotels conditions need to be improved especially the room conditions.

Great place for a relaxed stay - pool, lovely breakfast, friendly staff, good shuttle service into town. Free bikes but very few and not allowed to prebook so hard to plan the day.

Excellent boutique luxury hotel, riverside Hoi An!

We had such a fantastic stay at Hoi An Coco River Resort! We chose the hotel based on the images online, the previous reviews, and the location. We appreciated that the hotel was riverside and not directly in town, giving a bit more sanctuary and nature surrounding. The staff were gracious and helpful, at all times. Lovely welcome drink upon arrival, beautiful grounds, room was exactly what we wanted, and having both the pool and river access made it perfect. We were well taken care of by Thuy, who helped us non-stop while looking for restaurants and recommendations during our stay! She personally made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. The restaurant breakfast was also excellent and served riverside. This was our favorite hotel during the entire trip to Vietnam. Thanks so much for taking such fantastic care of us!

Beautiful hotel out of town

Absolutley loved this place for value and pleasure. Quiet location on the river, 10 minutes by car out of town. The rooms were a lovely combination of traditionl decor with modern comforts. The swimming pool was lovely. Staff were very kind and helpful, and a courtesy bus in and out of central Hoi An was provided several times per day. Breakfast was served in the riverfont restuarant with a gorgouse view.

A mixed bag

The hotel is beautifully situated on the river a few kms out of Hoi An and therefore is quiet and peaceful but you don't feel isolated as there is a very efficient shuttle bus plus bicycles which are free of charge. The swimming pool and grounds are lovely. Food at the hotel is good with the exception of breakfast which was limited and, what should have been hot, was frequently cold. The room, whilst looking very welcoming, has quite hard beds and if you are someone who likes a darkened room to sleep in, then this is not the place for you as the open plan bathroom has windows with no blinds or curtains. Staff on the whole were helpful with the exception of one who told us we could hire a scooter from the hotel, you can't, and the rental place opposite had none available so we had to make an extra trip into the centre to rent one. Whilst this wasn't really a problem,I do think staff should give guests correct information; the same receptionist failed to change our airport transfer.

Lovely place, so pretty

The photos online didn't actually do this place any justice- it was absolutely gorgeous. Rooms a good size and decorated very tastefully, good pool and breakfast by the river. The only think to be aware of is that the place is a little way out of town from Hoi An itself. However, this suited me perfectly as it was midway between town and beach, and they had both a well timed, free, shuttle bus service to each, as well as bicycles you could borrow for the day. I found cycling around the countryside nearby was a joy and the roads were very quiet. I would definitely go back.

A peaceful escape

This is a lovely hotel - set around a lush pool area, the rooms are elegant, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is open (could be an issue if you're just staying with a friend!) although there is a curtain you could pull across for privacy. The staff are helpful and attentive. There is a regular shuttle into town or you can cycle using the free bicycles. There is also a shuttle to the beach. It's about 3-4 km from either. It's a lovely bike ride - through the rice fields - beautiful. The gym at the hotel isn't well equipped and the breakfast was a little disappointing; no variation for the 5 days we stayed and little choice.

A very peaceful, beautiful place

An excellent hotel, tucked away by the river. It's about 4km from hoi an town but the hotel has a regular shuttle or you can ride in on the free bicycles. The staff are incredibly helpful and courteous. The rooms are spacious and very tastefully decorated with lots of room. The bathroom was great. The hotel's gym however is not really a gym. The breakfast at the hotel was a little disappointing and didn't vary at all for the 5 days I stayed here. The daily fresh towels being delivered in person along with a story about Vietnamese culture was a lovely touch.

A great effort by a great staff

Very good, wold return, AAA+ for the friendliness and attentiveness. The breakfast needs a little work, but beside that, every part of it is worth it. People complain about the distance it is from town, but this adds to the charm, they have a free regular shuttle and they offer free bicycles. My daughter and son (12 and 9) who NEVER ride anywhere, easily negotiated the ride to the town and through to the towns edge. Love Vietnam. Loved Hoi An.

Absolutely wonderful stay

I would highly reccommend this resort and spa, the facilities are highly luxurious, the setting absolutely idylic and we just a wonderful, relaxing stay. Yes the location is a little bit out of Hoi An, but the free shuttle bus is brilliant and it takes about 15 minutes to get from the hotel to Hoi An centre.

Beautiful hotel on river, far from town

This hotel was a very mixed bag. It was on a scenic river, had a very pretty pool and yard, beautifully designed rooms. The breakfast buffet was very good and the restaurant in general had good food and reasonable prices. BUT it was very far from town and beach, not really walkable to anywhere. And the staff seemed not to know English well. When we arrived we were told the river view suite for which we had pre paid, was not available. When I insisted, a room was magically available. Every time we spoke to the front desk there was an attempt to upsell, or to direct us to a particular store, taxi company. A clerk even tried to get us not to go to a beach that had been recommended because he wanted us to go to a restaurant on another beach.

A beautiful hotel, didn't want to leave!

This hotel is lovely - our room was huge with a comfy bed and spacious bathtub. Great selection at breakfast - loads of fresh fruit, omelettes made to order and freshly baked pastries. A bit out of the way, but actually we preferred not being in middle of Hoi An as it's quite touristy. The hotel give you push bikes and it took about 15mins to cycle into the centre, and we also hired a motorbike one day. A quiet and luxurious haven!

Serene location, feel part of a Vietnamese village

we truly enjoyed our stay and are planning on coming back. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We loved the fact that it was a few minutes away from the craziness of downtown Hoi An yet close enough to bike or take a 4 dollar cab ride into town. The resort is beautifully set up, with loads of flowers and butterflies everywhere. Also, just a few miles away from Cua Dai Beach.

To recommend or not to recommend?? not sure

Dont want to too unfair as this place was the only non resorty type place we stayed at in Vietnam. damp miserable weather didnt help as first impression was a little disappointing but it is only 3star.. cleanliness was good and rooms were good altho we booked the 'best' room and it was just a lot of space not used well so a waste of the extra cost althho not too pricey. a normal room would probably be ok. pool is nice in good weather. restaurant just functional, food mediocre and service is difficult.. staff mostly cant speak or understand English so v difficult to communicate esp if you need to knw details of the food! not many veggie options. I understnd the language barrier but a waiter should at least know the basics and what the food on the menu is. They also advertise another restaurant above reception which was non existent and the bar was never open although it wasnt appealing at all really... the seating is also all very uncomfortable so nowhere to really chill if stuck indoors due to rain apart from the bed! This place is also 4km out of town which in good weather would be ok to cycle etc and they do have a good shuttle service to and from town. I dont know whether to recommend or not... as i dont have another similar one in the area to compare to... but generally ok. Most bizarre thing is that the comments in the visitor's book are all excellent so not sure if i'm just really fussy... its personal i guess.

holiday in Vietnam

tours through hotel just too expensive. room was spotless and the reception girls are wonderful very pleasant to deal with and looked after us the food for dinner and lunch options was very limited and not the quality you would expect. Housemaids excellent and friendly, Driver excellent. Remote location but ok if you like to get away or like going by bike to beach or shopping

Quiet Oasis

This is a very quiet and comfortable hotel. The cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel was first class and i have stayed in better rated hotels that are inferior to this hotel. Ancient House River is a 20 minute bike ride from town and about 15 minutes to the coast beaches and if you are not that energetic the free bus shuttle was very handy. I am amazed that people would pick fault with this hotel. The Manager, Mihn went out of his way to make all welcome and ensure that my stay was enjoyable.

Supurb Hotel in Great Location.

The Staff were amazing, helpful, kind and always smiling. Pool was lovely and clean, room was spacious and well presented. Breakfast was nice including the standard of the western food, although we try to avoid western food on holidays. Free Shuttle bus and bicycles were very handy. Pros: Staff, room amenities,pool and location of hotel. Cons: pool deck could use a little attention but this is no reason not to stay here. An excellent experience in Hoi An. An amazing city...

A chance to relax on the river in the country

Fabulous

Amazing, lovely beautiful hotel. Gorgeous riverside hotel with free buses to beach or town (10 mins) or easy to borrow a pushbike, or rent a motorbike or just walk around. Old town of Hoi An was wonderful, great restaurants and picturesque. Beach was nice enough too.

Great Service and quiet location

The staff at Ancient River cannot do enough to please you and they are very helpful The breakfast buffet is OK. We took the cooking clas which was very good. The location is the only drawback - as its a $ 4 taxi fare to town or you can catch the free shuttle at approx hourl;y intervals. Try to get more info on local tours from a travle agency as this and all hotesl seem to do their own versions.

Very good hotel

Enjoyed staying here. It's about 10 min outside HoiAn. However, the hotel shuttle ran frequently & the cost of a taxi was about $4. It's a lovely setting on the river.

Will stay there on my next visit to Hoi An

We arrived very late, but the receptionist was still there to meet us with a delicious passion fruit juice and a smile on her face. The building is a not too big and the architecture follows old Vietnamese architecture, fitting perfectly well in the landscape. The choice of design in the main building (where you have breakfast) and in the rooms is very simple but beautiful, lots of attention to detail. We especially loved the little Vietnamese legands that were left every night on our bed as a bedtime story. Great touch! Although the hotel is not in the center of town, they have a free shuttle service (during pre-determined hours, otherwise you can pay $2 a person to go into town when you wish) and free bicycles. We cycled everyday enjoying the wonderful scenary of the Hoi An countryside and adjoining villages. We even rode our bikes out to the beach, and that was also a wonderful experience. Although the hotel itself is already worthwhile, what made the experience simply incredible were the staff: warm, welcoming and ready to help with anything. We even decided to splurge on a Vietnamese massage at the hotel's SPA and loved it. We will definitely be going back given that we live in Hanoi.

Hotel is nice,only 1 restaurant open very over priced in American dollar.Local village surroundings which is ok Just to far out of Hoi-An for us.shuttle bus is handy but you got to plan your time which is not what you want to do.Moved into Town after 1 night .

The Ancient House River Hoi An

at first worried on way to AHR hotel we wondered where we were being taken but on arrival its a lovely hotel set in a village surrounding, where the locals went out of the way to make our stay memorable.Staff are very friendly & nothing was too much trouble,even gave my husband a rose for his birthday & sang happy birthday in the morning. Made good use of convienent free shuttle bus into the town for shopping during the day & again for dinner at night. there is a nice little bar 3 doors down where you can sit & talk with the locals who have enough english for us to be understood.Very relaxing place that is very clean & tidy. Veldig hyggelige ansatte, synes bare at bassenget kunne vært merket med pH og klor verdier, så ingen sirkulasjons pumpe som gikk. Prisene i resturanten var overpriset.

아주 고즈넉하게 조용하고 정원을 바라보며 테라스에 앉아서 쉴수 있어서 너무 좋았어요. 조식도 깔끔하게 나오고 모든 가족이 만족했답니다. 하지만 계단을 이용해서 짐을 올리고 내려야 해서 불편함은 있지만 직원분들이 도와줘서 괜찮았어요. 그리고 호이안 번화가와 멀어서 한번 나갔다가 들어오면 다시 나가기 애매함. 그래도 나는 조용해서 너무 좋았다. 번화가는 너무 시끄럽고 사람이 많았기 때문에 좋았다. 다음날 일정으로 바쁘게 나가서 아쉬움이 남아서 다시 또 가고싶은 호텔이다!!

Super kvalitet

Desværre regnede det i vores tid på hotellet, men alt andet fungerede super. Lækre værelser, meget hjælpsomt staff, god morgenmad og dejligt roligt kvarter tæt på Hoi An downtown

とても良かったです

部屋も広くきれいで、とても良かったです。またホイアンにくることがあれば、ココに泊まりたいと思います。 朝食もホイアンの料理が出てきて、おいしかったです。 旧市街からは少し遠くて、grabを使う必要が有りますが、直ぐに手配できたので不満はなかったです。

ファミリーコネクティングルームに宿泊しました。1泊目は部屋を間違えて案内されましたが翌日、すぐに変更してくれて、他にも特典を色々とつけてくれました。アンバンビーチもタクシーで10分くらいで行けます。ホテルのプールもゆっくりできました。ホイアン市街地まではシャトルバスが出てますが、9時発と15時発の2便で少ないです。帰りは市街地を15時発と21時発の2便です。でもgrabで行き帰りできるので問題ありません。

좀은 어수선한분위기

It was a good place to travel with family. The staff were always kind and the Galadiner program, which was carefully prepared was really cool. Breakfast was fine, and the pool was fine. There was a shuttle downtown, so I used it conveniently. It was not expensive and it was good to be offered for other fees. I'm going to be revising again next time.

子連れ＆お年寄り連れの旅行でのんびりしたくて、川沿いの雰囲気が気に入って選びました。 ホテルの周りはLocalの田舎風景って感じで、現地の田舎の生活を垣間見れる気がしました。 旧市街地＆Beachには無料シャトルバスで移動。他に2軒のホテルを周って目的地へ。 旧市街地からの最終バスは21：45でゆっくり買い物も食事も出来ました。 ホテル出て右に小さなお店がありました。行けませんでしたが、お水とかスナック菓子とかがありそうな感じ？多分クレジットカードは使えないと思います。 朝食は宿泊人数が多ければ種類豊富に出ますが、少ない時はフルーツ、パン５～6種類、ヨーグルト、オムレツ、フォー、シリアル、コーヒー、紅茶、牛乳、ジュースって感じです。A La Carteって言ってたので、注文したら他の物も出してくれるかも？ですが、時間が掛かりそうでした。従業員はお国柄か、のんびりされてます。川沿いのレストランは雰囲気がとても良いです。 初朝食の時にお世話係のThiさんが挨拶にきてくれて、彼女からLineを交換しようと。その後はLineで質問に答えてもらったり、出先からの帰りのシャトルバスの時間変更をして貰ったりで、大変助かりました。(やり取りは英語) 一寸法師的なバスケットボートに乗りたいと相談したら、レストラン横から船に乗って、観光客がバスケットボートに乗るspot迄連れて行ってくれて、ボート乗って一周するツアーを大人US＄20でやってくれました。(清算する時は現地のドンだったので、何故US＄で言われたのかは不明…) ホテルのSpaもディスカウントがあったのでお安くマッサージが受けられました。 タイミングが悪く現地では食べられなかったバイン・ミー・フーンのサンドウィッチも、Thiさんのお助けでGrab food deliveryでホテルで堪能出来ました。Thiさんが居てくれて、本当に色々楽しませて頂けました。本当に感謝です！！ ホテル自体は豪華では無いですが、コテージ風なお部屋作りで自然を基調とした雰囲気です。 お値段は元値では高いと思いますが、ディスカウント後のお値段だったら大満足です！！ 夜通し賑やかに過ごしたい方には不向きですが、ゆっくり寛ぎたい旅行にはピッタリでした。

가족여행으로 1박2일 머물렀는데 편안하게 휴식하기에 너무 좋은 리조트였어요..직원들도 무척 친절했구요 다만 밤늦게 도착해서 호텔내 음식점을 이용했는데 너무 양이 적고 비쌌어요ㅜ...그점 빼고는 만족합니다
