Loved the room, space and breakfast.
The family room we rented was excellent, a lot of space, we loved it. The hotel is well located, not to far from the old town. It was great that they provided a free shuttle. Service was excellent. Breakfast was pretty good too.
A mile walk from the old town, very conviently located if you don’t mind a quick walk but they also have a trolley service. Great stay, a little bit pricey but good room and bathroom.
Excellent hotel
The staff was excellent. They new your name when they greeted you. Everyone had a smile and asked if you needed anything. Room was very clean, bathroom water pressure was great. No issues during our stay and convenient to old town and the beach.
Very pleasant day at this facility. Staff from the front desk ladies are extremely friendly and helpful. We definitely come back to this hotel again.
Beautiful resort setting with wonderful staff members and excellent service. My daughter and I felt welcomed and relaxed.
Room had a cockroach in it when we came in. The tables were super dusty and had water marks. It also looks like the shower head had quite a bit of black hair dangling from it. The toilet also makes a lot of noise for 10 minutes after you flush so that got really annoying at night. The toilet also isn’t separated by a full door so order and any sounds travel throughout the room… if you catch my drift. Also didn’t have hot water to the room until we called on the 2nd night for some reason. Nothing that’s awful but not really worth staying at in my opinion
A hotel to enjoy Hoi An and explore from.
Beautiful hotel that is between old town and beach. Shuttle service to both and also swimming pool and generous breakfast. Staff make you feel very welcome.
Amazing stay. Amazing staff!
Great staff make this lovely hotel a dream stay.
Lovely grounds, rooms are comfortable and to a good standard. Staff are friendly, helpful and informative.
Absolutely beautiful place gorgeous staff and the location is excellent
This was a well situated hotel within walking or short taxi ride into the old town. Staff were great and very helpful with booking trips out.
Lovely hotel excellent staff so helpful. Clean room with all facilities. Breakfast was really good and had a good variety of choice. Free bikes to get around the place can even cycle to the beach or hop on the free shuttle bus. It’s hard to get a sunbed round the pool that’s in the sun! If you want a chill day or few hours. We were there a week and we never managed it but if not bothered about the sun then no problem. Wouldn’t stop us staying here again though as we’d just cycle to the beach…..a must experience.
Very serene, garden like resort. Good staff attitude, breakfast. Only catch is the distance to night market which needs far walking exercise
Well located boutique style hotel
This is a very nice boutique style hotel set in landscaped Vietnamese style gardens around a swimming pool - which actually would be better if larger. Rooms are spacious and clean and only criticism is that when having a shower the water temperature is not constant - cool to scalding in seconds
Shuttle bus to and from ancient old town not very frequent especially when guests usually like to spend the evening there.
Beautiful property in Hoi An. Close to beach and city. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend
Enjoyed our time.
Excellent, friendly staff. Clean, reasonably sized, quiet rooms. Good pool with happy hour. Shuttle bus to Old town and the deck house An Bang beach. Free bikes you must use. Great value for money.
Lovely gardens & pool. Rooms well appointed & staff very friendly. Located in quieter part of Hoi An but short 15 min walk to Old Hoi An & market. The manager Binh is very helpful & welcoming- he upgraded our room & made sure our stay was beyond satisfying.
It is around 2km away from the old town Hoi an, but the property has own transportation to drop you off right in front of walking street in old town. You will enjoy the facilities and walking around resort. It is roomy but serene. Super clean and comfy. Highly recommend.
Great location between Town and Beach, free use of bicycles, lovely and helpful staff, well equipped rooms, will definitely come back
The staff were very attentive, especially Hahn at the front desk was a very good host :) thank you.
Affordable Luxury
Beautiful hotel! We were blown away by what we got for the price here! It was an excellent hotel- short distance to the beach and to Hoi An Ancient Town- and the staff was very friendly and accommodating! We definitely recommend this hotel!
Breakfast area needs ceiling fans to circulate air. The only fan was for the staff checking room numbers. Tea and coffee was not very good. Staff were generally very helpful. Great that there are bikes to borrow for free! The shuttle bus is good except there needs to be an extra service between the 5.20 & 7.20 pm one. Pool area was a bit overgrown and dirty...
Nice clean, friendly staff always helpful, not to far out of the old town 1 mile also has a free local shuttle that drives past to old town at certain times! You will need to take the free Shuttle to beach though unless you use the free bikes they provide.
Pleasant Dreams
Loved my villa and the resort in general for its close proximity to food, dry cleaning and markets. I can’t fault the villa I had in anyway. It was a haven from the touring & as a smoker, I had my own private area to smoke away. Mosquitos didn’t bother me as I anticipated their presence and travelled with a home made oil - olive oil (1/2 cup) & a few drops of tea tree oil) - carried in luggage. Although the bus provided an excellent shuttle service, I only used it once as I opted to walk to the markets & explore cafes & bars along the way.
This was a really lovely place to stay. Really great to come back to after a day of exploring. Staff were superb and helpful..would definitely recommend to anyone
Paradise for a holiday.
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel Also especially found the booked massage heavenly! Best massage in many years!@
Location and Very Green. Can't find anything I dislike.
Staff is friendly, hotel room is clean, the plants are green. The swimming pool is a bit too small and can be cleaner.
Nice place
A bit away from the center of town, but good enough bang for your buck. Enjoy my stay.
The location was excellent, close to Hoi An Old Town but on a quiet back laneway facing the river. The staff were so friendly and attentive and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Pool was nice and the view of thr river from our room and balcony was great. This hotel was excellent value, we would happily stay there again.
good facilities generally fruit bats in the top rooms although hey moved us to another room
Beautiful hotel with lovely garden and great rooms. The bed is huge and very comfortable and the bathroom pristine. Very relaxing atmosphere. Excellent staff. The shuttle to the Ancient Town and the beach is very efficient. Great location with a few nice restaurants across the street. The restaurant at the beach is fantastic! The only hiccup was the airport transfer that never showed up, but it was easy enough to get a taxi
Beautiful property built around an actual ancient house. Great location close to a bunch of restaurants and bars and not far from the ancient town.
I don't think there are many better atmosphere for the money. A gem among the contenders.
Absolutely loved our stay! The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms are amazing value for money. Clean, spacious and gorgeous bathrooms. Pool was perfect- plenty of towels and beds. We used the in house spa and had the best foot massage ever. Room service was very reasonable and actually tasty. We used grab to get around because we werr travelling with a toddler. Just a few minutes drive from all the action. We would definitely stay here again!!!
Excellent stay here at Ancient House resort and spa. The place has a really exotica and calming vibe.
Location was good, shuttle was good, but glass doors on rooms gave no privacy without curtains drawn.
The property is extremely well kept with magnificent gardens. The pool was clean & there were plenty of lounge chairs & towels. The rooms were well appointed & comfortable. The staff were very friendly & accommodating. There were always refreshing cool towels when we returned from a day out. Binh was very friendly & informative when we arrived. Other outstanding staff included Dung, Oanh & Huyen. They all made our stay a wonderful experience. We hope to be back to stay at the Ancient House Hotel Hoi An for a few weeks next year!
Beautiful resort hotel in Hoi An
My wife and I stayed for four nights just prior to the Tet holiday in this beautifully appointed resort hotel. The rooms were spacious and the service was top notch. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and don't forget to take advantage of the spa......be sure to ask for Bona for an excellent massage. An amazing value for the money!! Highly recommended!!
Great option in Hoi An.
Loved it. Such friendly staff and great service. Breakfast was great. Do take the free bikes to town or the beach! Lovely bed and bathroom. We would stay here again.
Beautiful peaceful place access to private beach. Love the beach and the boat seafood Highly recommended
Peace and luxury at great price
Beautiful and peaceful hotel, with spacious room, balcony, and bathtub for soaking. Well maintained grounds with great pool and other amenities. Free breakfast was perfect to start day every morning. Free bikes to town or beach, as well as free shuttle service (hotel is 15 min walk from Old Town). The amazing and polite staff (Anh, Oanh, Huyen, and Dung !) were an added bonus, and seemed to know us by name after the first day. Sad to leave, would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Hoi An... seemed like a luxury steal at a great price!
Great place to stay!
Great service clean room and fantastic location. Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful, even in the rain!
Fantastic hotel, staff were incredibly welcoming and Min especially was lovely to talk to. Would definitely recommend this to family and friends
Great hotel... the rooms are beautifully appointed ... good value for money. One suggestion... perhaps they could improve the bar area.
Everything exceeded our expectations, I will certainly stay there again. Only drawback in breakfast was that hot food was cold all three days.
Great hotel with very friendly staff.
Great hotel with very friendly staff in an excellent location. We stayed 6 nights and could have stayed longer. Excellent places to eat locally, could walk or take free shuttle to the old quarter. Only issue was pool was small but not a really big problem.
It was great time to stay in HoiAn Ancient Resort. Above all, staffs were really helpful , kind and always smiling.
Lovely place 15 min old town and beach
Laid back area, safe good restaurants, shopping and not far to central old town/walk or taxi is cheap! 15 -20 min to beautiful beach by car (beautiful!!) Love this location !!! Go 4 it!! Soooo friendly AAA+++
This is a beautiful place to stay. It is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. It is really well situated for exploring Hoi An, but is also peaceful and has beautiful views over rice fields.
Everything so nice!
Fast WiFi, clean room, nice staff, excellent breakfast buffet.
Very central easy to walk everywhere.
We enjoyed our stay here for 4 days. The staff were lovely and very helpful.
Hoi An is terrible!
Hotel was good. Local area is horrible. Hoi An is the biggest tourist trap in SW Asia so far. Stay as far away from Hoi An as you can. More Chinese tourists than locals. Terrible food. Touts and cheats everywhere. It's also noisy for a small town. Almost no peace to be had. Skip it. If you absolutely MUST GO, this hotel is decent but I'd say well away from this area on the beach instead and pay extra.
We loved this place
We had a huge room, with a bath and shower in the en suite. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was great too - lovely to relax by when the hustle and bustle of the shopping area got a bit much. Breakfast was great too, and there are lots of restaurants within walking distance.
Great staff, close to town and well maintained
The hotel has a spacious feel, with well-kept gardens and a pleasant pool area. There is a very good range of food for breakfast. The buildings and grounds are meticulously maintained, and the rooms are very clean and also beautifully maintained. Some rooms have a very restricted outlook and can be a little dark, so choose as carefully as you can--or have a look before moving in, if possible. Room furniture is a little uncomfortable--say, if you want to sit and read. Nice touches like free bikes, pool table and shuttle bus to both town and beach. Walkable to central Hoi An. Very, very nice and extremely helpful staff.
Very comfortable and enjoyable
Our stay was very enjoyable. Stsff were very attentive and accommodating. We had checked out due to leaving Hoi An that night and they even gave us access to a shower to freshen up before our trip. Would/will stay there again.
The best place we stayed in Vietnam
Beautiful hotel, exceptional staff and service. We want to come back to this place next year and have been recommending it to anyone we’ve met who I’d passing through Hoi An.
A beautiful hotel in a calm setting.
This is a very nice hotel in a calm area but, still close to the action in Hoi Anh. There is a pool at the hotel. The rooms are very pretty and the grounds have a garden theme. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The safe in the room had no instructions and was ridiculously difficult to use. It required sending for maintenance personnel to open it theee times before we gave up using it.
Beautiful Grounds and Great Food!
This hotel was awesome! And, we happened to be there during the recent typhoon! The staff were excellent and the room exceeded expectations in cleanliness, style, size and comfort. I think it was newly renovated and there was an awesome big bath. It was private enough to let us relax. The food was some of the best we had and they accommodated our late checkout without charge. Unfortunately with the typhoon, everything was wet and we couldn't use the pool or spa. Also, the spa was being renovated so if you're into a spa weekend as we were, you may want to check on that in advance.
Very comfortable
Beautiful room, huge bath - very comfortable. A little way out of town - about 25 minutes walking.
great stay staff went out of there way for you . shuttle service to town and beach good. Breakfast excellant . Location perfect . Lots of restrauents in the same street . Shops . Cooking classes . Dentist .
Great place to stay in a great town
Very nice and comfortable room, very good breakfast, and nice pool area. It's about 1-1.5 miles from the Ancient Town, but they have free shuttles both there and out to An Bang beach. Definitely a great base as a place to stay in Hoi An!
Lovely relaxing hotel
Hoi An Ancient House was a very calming and relaxing stay. We were a family of four travelling together Mum, Dad and 2 adult children and the hotel staff sorted out lovely adjoining rooms for us. We were able to walk or take the courtesy shuttle into the old town and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Hoi An.
Beautiful hotel! Convienent to downtown hoi an, with a good shuttle if needed. Great value for the price! Highly recommend!
Faded and tired but friendly staff
This is okay for a couple of days but nothing more - we were booked in for far too long. Not good for families, the pool is small and ALL the other residents were middle aged french people who frowned on any noise at all so although the staff were very friendly we felt like we were walking on egg shells. The decor is tired and faded. The first room we had was very damp and dark, they were helpful and moved us when I asked to the newer buildings which were much better - but it's all only 3* quality. The breakfast and shuttle buses to town and beach were good and plentiful and they let you take their towels to the beach for the day which was helpful.
Excellent location
Very nice stay
Roomy , comfortable rooms , convenient location.
Very enjoyable, pleasant stay , nice , varied buffet breakfasts . The hotel is older style & room was large and comfortable although initially smelled a bit musky and hot water in the shower ran out rather quickly otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and location . Probably about a 20 minute walk to centre of ancient town and some great eateries along the way . Staff were helpful and accommodating . Would definitely stay here again .
Very nice hotel!
Great private setting! A tad out the way as far as walking but the staff are alway happy to help you get around.
Peaceful garden oasis
Great breakfast selection. Rooms were beautiful and quiet. Free shuttle to beach/ancient town, staff were friendly. Not enough bandwidth to supply the whole resort with wifi.
Expected more for the price
Pros- -Comfortable room -comfortable (but small) pool area -walking distance to hoi an ancient town Cons- - Staff spoke very poor English so very hard to get any information about Hoi An from them. I do appreciate that I am in Vietnam and I do not speak their language so I cannot expect everyone to cater to me, however, it did make it difficult to communicate. They also look and act miserable. -Restaurant is pretty awful and they got our orders wrong a few times. Breakfast buffet is not covered so flies are on everything - Staff hang around in groups at the pool, talking and laughing loudly in Vietnamese which I did find uncomfortable when sunbathing. Overall it was a comfortable stay but I have paid less and had less issues.
The best of Hoi An
Lovely setting, just far enough from Ancient Quarter to feel like an oasis, close enough to walk anywhere. Great staff and service, very responsive. Took cooking class at hotel, great fun!
Close to both the old town and the beach
After 10 days in Hanoi, Halong bay and Sapa it was so nice to have 5 days of nice relaxing time. The hotel had everything we wanted. Close to old town, the beach and shops. Staff was very friendly and we have nothing to complain about really. Maybe they could do a bit of updating of the bikes.
Great Hotel close to everything
Loved Ancient House Resort , fabulous location , staff are very willing to help and the free shuttle to and from Beach and Old Town. Swimming pool, cocktails and attentive staff made it a fabulous stay for us ! Highly recommend - and of course Happy Hour Cocktails with our favourite Passionfruit Mojitos
Nice hotel, good location
This is a nice hotel in Hoi An. Location is good--close enough to town and beach to walk, but also served by shuttle bus and inexpensive taxis. Hotel also provides bicycles. Hotel is charming with good breakfast, nice view out over pool. Rooms are clean. Only complaint is that bed is absolutely rock hard. Have also stayed at the sister hotel, which is farther out of town with a better view over rice paddies but harder to get to/from town.
Ancient House Resort
As good as their sister hotel in Hoi An. A fantastic venue with extremely courteous staff always with a welcoming smile. Breakfast is simple yet sublime in it's presentation and taste, especially the coffee. The rooms are kept immaculate throughout the day, with extra toes or water always on hand. Simply put a very pleasurable stay in Hoi An, looking forward to my return.
OK stay.
We had a good stay. The service was good (although not exceptional). The breakfast was ok. We were very happy with the beautiful vibe of the place, especially all the trees and plants. The location wasn't the best because it was on a busy street (with some street noise) and far enough from the center of town that we needed to take a cab into the city center each time.
beautiful place to relax
We had a 4 night stay at the end of our busy holiday . The rooms were beautiful and could not fault anything during our stay . All the staff were extremely friendly and the resort was located within an easy ride to town or the beach . I would happily recommend this resort.
Lovely hotel with a great pool
Lovely hotel with a great pool. The rooms were a decent size and well-equipped. Breakfast was varied with lots of options. Happy hour was good too! The hotel was about 20-30min walk from the centre but the shuttle bus was decent. It went to the beach as well but we didn't use it. Plenty of eating options near by (I would recommend Circle on the way to the beach and Solo on the way to town), and some places for drinks too (Marimba bar was good).
Great Hotel
Great hotel mostly central to the downtown area. A quick bike ride (hotel has them_, or a cheap taxi gets you downtown. Hotel is nice - great breakfast.
Would come back and recommend to friends
Great stay at the Hoi An Ancient House. Don't confuse this with others in the area with a similar name. Good location. The rooms were so charming. Private views. Lots of greenery. Noodle making area in the ancient house. Very quiet pool area. Great breakfasts with fresh fruit, crepes, pastries and local central Vietnamese food.
Location, location. location
located between the beach and the town this makes for an ideal location. The rooms are decorated well and spacious and I got to take my daily bath (shower overhead) which I was really missing. The central pool area is great to cool off in after a day of sunning or shopping. Probably our best hotel so far in Vietnam for the range we were looking in. Seeing rice noodle making at the residence and forecourt attached was an added bonus.
Very nice staffs! A confortable and relaxing hotel
Room is very clean and very nice. Love the view of everywhere in the hotel as well!
Great hotel in Hoi an
I stayed at the ancient house resort for five nights. The rooms are very clean and air conditioned. Even though the weather was really hot the room always stayed cool. The breakfast was perfect for a quick bite and the town is about a 5 mins drive away.
Beautiful Hoi An
The hotel was great, a nice respite from the bustle of the the historic town centre, and the pool was a welcome retreat. Rooms were clean and cool but with some signs of wear. Our review is mixed as the visit started off on the wrong foot with the pre-arranged hotel driver not picking us up or waiting for us at the airport following a 1 - 1.5 hour delay to our flight. We had to call the hotel on our UK mobiles paying international roaming charges several times to get the driver to come back for us. (It is a 45 minute drive each way…) We arrived tired and made to feel as if we did not keep the hotel up to date with our flight info. They had all the information needed well in advance to be able to track the flight online or look at the arrival board at Da Nang airport and learn the correct arrival time. This cannot be the first time that Vietnam Airlines arrives late! (2 of our 4 flights with them on this trip were delayed)
a living museum, and carefully planned complex
lovely location, carefully planned complex of spacious apartments around a central feature and swimming pool. well appointed large rooms with four poster beds and mosquito nets. efficient air-conditioning owners live in traditional trading house adjoining the complex, where they produce rice noodles
Charming place with great staff
Charming little place in the town of Hoi An with free shuttle to the beach and the centre of town. We had a great stay with this hotel as our base, the staff was excellent and the whole family loved the atmosphere.
Beautiful room in lovely grounds
We were collected from the railway station by the hotel and arrived late at night. The room was beautiful with a garden view and overlooking the pool. Breakfast was buffet style and I had the best omelettes ever. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the shopping area and about 20 minutes from the Old Town. There are plenty of shops and cafes on the walk to the main shopping areas. The pool is small but lovely to relax by after a busy day sightseeing and shopping. We had one evening meal in the hotel restaurant and the food was excellent however the ambience was poor as we were the only ones in their and the staff were setting up ready for breakfast so we felt a bit in the way. We stayed her for 3 nights in April 15 and would loved to have stayed longer.
Quaint REsort
The resort is small and quaint - walking distance to Hoi An ancient town. The service was good. The room was lovely however if booking a room ensure you get one with a window and upper floor. We stayed in a lower room with no window which made the room smelly and musty, leaving our clothes damp continuously. Overall it was a nice experience at the resort and the breakfast was sensational (buffet).
Facilities: Above average; Value: Reasonable; Service: Outstanding; Cleanliness: Spotless; 1.2km from old town and 3.3km from beach. Has free shuttle to both.
Beautiful hotel
We chose the Ancient House from reviews on trip advisor and we weren't disapointed. It is beautiful and charming. The gardens are set out well and tended daily. The pool isn't very big, but it was enough, the jacuzzi wasn't working, which was a little disapointing. I had a wonderful 90 minute massage in the spa. Fresh fruit was put in our rooms daily. It was interesting to watch them make the rice noodles in the house too. We borrowed bikes from them to cycle to the beach and there is also a free shuttle bus. The main town is a fair walk, but there are plenty of shops and restuarants along the way, or the river on the other side. There is also a free shuttle bus. It was a fabulous 5 days
A great hotel in Hoi An
We really enjoyed out time in Hoi An and the ancient house resort was great. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was delicious and had a good range of food. The location is great - not in the middle of the busy streets, about 10 mins walk but there are lots of restaurants and spas near by. Also a bit closer to the beach if you wanted to walk (we hired a scooter) The only downside was the aircon in the room kept turning on and off which was annoying. Other than that a great hotel!
great local
GREAT LOCATION WITH MANY RESTAURANTS CLOSE AT HAND ALONG WITH MOST OF THE MUST SEE VENUES. STAFF ALWAYS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. BONUS OF HAVING BERNIES BAR A FEW DOORS AWAY
Relaxation to the Max
Great location the staff are most helpful the rooms are top notch
2nd Time
This was my first choice for our Second stay its excellent value for money and standards are high. It a bit out of town but there is shuttle bus or just walk or Bike. Its worth going to Cui Dai beach on the shuttle bus. The beach is amazing!!!
Very nice hotel
Lovely rooms, close to town. The breakfast spread is good and the staff are friendly. A bit cheaper to book tours ect in town rather than through the hotel though. We also had a bad experiance with the tailor they recommended, very pushy and unfriendly. The hotel resturant/room service is quite expensive however a very good and cheap resturant just across the road. Would stay here again.
Nice atmosphere
It was a very nice setting, felt excluded and calm. The buildings and pool was all neat and tidy, however it was too cold to actually try the pool or their beach (a short journey from the hotel), but it looked promising. Staff was like staff should be, helpful and friendly. Offers a lot of extra services for those who want help to arrange trips etc. The room was nice, but at ground floor so you have to choose from privacy or day light. I had paid for garden view, wouldn't say I got that. The neighbourhood is not bad, quite a walk to central Hoi An, but that didn't bother us. You can get the hotel bus if you prefer. Would have stayed longer if I could, and will stay there again.
Good choice for Hoi An
My wife and I stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. We had originally booked another hotel in Hoi An but due to extremely heavy raining for several days including the day we arrived, the streets closest to the water were completely flooded and we were unable to reach the hotel. We wanted to make the most of our days in Hoi An despite the fact that we couldn't see any of the Old Town because of the flooded streets. Upon arrival, the Ancient House staff was extraordinarily helpful and gave us a room a few hours before check-in. No hassles, just the keys and a welcome drink. The room was very comfortable although the shower was not great. It's a tub but they had connected a shower head which didn't have great pressure which meant you had to stand very close to the drain. Water was hot though. The room smelled a bit like insect repellant but I suppose that's a good thing if you want to keep the mozzies at bay! We ate lunch at the restaurant and it was ok. Breakfast was very average. Not a great selection of foods besides fruit and we didn't go for the rice noodle soup either as the raw beef was sitting outside which just didn't look safe to us. All in all though, we were very satisfied with our stay especially in light of how little of Hoi An we got to actually see.
Hoi An Ancient House Resort And Spa | Hotel in Hoi An | Travala.com
The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating, nothing was a problem. The hotel gardens and grounds are beautifully kept. Our room was stunning, with a lovely outlook. We felt very comfortable and happy with our stay. The hotel shuttle into town was great, although we walked most of the time alone the back street along the river, taking only 15mins. The complimentary bicycles were a lot of fun, we rode through rice fields to Tra Que vegetable village. It was my second stay here, I liked it so much :)
