Great hotel all in all. Our room was good, the staff were awesome. It was convenient have two stores on site and the restaurant was awesome and good pricing. Breakfast buffet included was definitely a bonus
Thailand adventure
I know the hotel wont reply to this review, as they haven't replied to any others. Upon arrival, we were told by reception that they never received our booking but when i showed them confirmation, they said they just received the email but the room we booked was not available until the next day so we had to stay in another room which was not as nice. The hotel needs to look deeply at their staff, they are rude, unhelpful and never smile. It is such a shame as the hotel is in a perfect position but visitors dont appear to want to eat or drink there. Also, be aware that if you ask reception to arrange transfer back to the ferry, they will leave you waiting for half hour. I will definitely return to Haad Yao but not this hotel
Haad Yao area is wonderful. But the hotel has issues. Not the end of the world if you stay here but do your research. There are much better options. PROS: Haad Yao bay is lovely/swimmable/safe. Rooms are clean. Nice breakfast for 150 Baht. Nice views. Decent price. CONS: Bayview Hotel is 12 stories and no elevator. Wanna go to the beach? You gotta plan/pack like it’s a day trip. Rooms are decent at best. Staff are rough around the edges, stressed. Not the end of the world if this is your only option. Do not worry about the severely bad 1 star reviews, but also you should ignore the 5-star reviews. This is a real 3-stars. Hope this helps :)
Clean, nice staff, good breakfast, good beach!
Great location on the beach. Good range of breakfast menu options and helpful staff in the restaurant. We organised our onward trip to Koh Tao with reception and this turned out well. Overall, our famiily of 4 had a great stay.
Had a great stay, great value for money. And staff really nice to be around.
Terrible service.
When I was there to check-in, a staff couldn't find my booking. I was trying to give her information that I booked through Hotels.com. Instead of listening, she told me to stay still and kept searching for papers from another applications. She also tried to talk to another customer even there was already another staff was talking care about his case. She took my phone to see information about the booking but didn't return and kept talking to her colleague. When I asked her to get my phone back, she strongly refused that she did not take my phone! At the end, she returned it but without apology. She said that she would make a refund for me but 2 days later, she was still not! It was the worst service I had ever had.
Horrible and diorty
Very rude receptionist that was more intrested in charging us twice for breakfast that we had already included. The breakfast was dreadful. The rooms are not clean, unchanged bed sheets etc. We had a room with private jacuzzi but there was no privacy as anyone could walk thru your balcony as there is a walkaway. Horrible hotel not worth the money. We gad a bbq and the meat was so tough we couldn't eat it but were still charged for it.
You'll keep fit!
Lovely beach. Quite nice rooms. You must be a little bit fit to get back and forth the rooms as ours was up a very steep hill and lots of high steps. Have stayed in a few other places along the beach in the past. The beach and sunsets here are amazing!!
I would go again and again
Amazing place for great price. Had a room right on the ocean with massage hut on the beach about 50 feet away. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food. Great location.
Haad yao Bay
Lovely location and room was perfect sea view, Reception staff could do with some customer service skills more interested in getting your 500 baht deposit from you than welcoming you in. Other staff are fine especially the lady on the information area called Mama Tim, Arranged a fishing trip and around the island your qon one of the resorts boats, perfect day. Rented motorcycle in resort called Big K prices are good.
Great room friendly staff had a room overlooking the beach. Enjoyed my stay and will be back
A nice stay
Large room. Friendly staff. Daily housekeeping plus bottled water. Store on premises.
Location is great. After that all the rest is bad: Rooms are bad No wifi, only at the lobby Staff is terrible and no English speakers
Ok if you like bugs in your bed and bad food.
There was a cockroach in our room it was huge and disgusting. The electricity was awful and our phones never charged and they refused to give us a second key so we could charge our phones while we were by the pool. Food was extremely overpriced and not of the best quality. Far away from pretty much everything and the on site shop is double the prices of 7/11 or family mart with less selection. Wouldn’t recommend.
Great value, book well in advance for best prices
Fantastic value for money - big air conditioned rooms with hot showers, right on the beach, two swimming pools. Restaurant can be skipped for sure, but the BBQ they put on every night is great quality and cheap.
This is a quality hotel located on the north of the island. The facilities are very good for the price and the view from a sea room is amazing. It is a bit north and far away from the main portion of town for those looking to do more throughout the island. Will need to taxi most places or rent a motor bike for the day but by doing so will be well worth it!
Doesn't look like the photos anymore
Although the photos of this hotel online look very nice, it did not look nearly as well maintained when we stayed there this week. Also, here are a few minor points that we learned after checking in. There are a lot of stairs and no lift. So if you want the best views, be prepared to climb for them. Or just ask for a room on the ground floor. Our room only came with two bath towels (no hand towels, no washcloths, etc.) and no telephone. When we asked about this, the hotel staff told us only the bungalows have more than two towels and telephones. Lastly, because the hotel is so far north on the island, we had a difficult time finding a taxi who would take us home after spending time further south. I'm not saying you shouldn't stay here, but at least keep this in mind when you make your choice.
Many problems but a nice view
Stayed for 3 nights! Television and WiFi didn’t work from day one spoke to reception 3 times and no one fixed the problem! Pool downstairs was a bit dirty full of leaves and bugs but not as bad as the one upstairs! It a massive resort so a lot of stairs and no lift! When we had a problem we couldn’t ring the reception as the was no phone available in our room so we had to run up and down! We ate in the restaurant once we’ve ordered beef burgers but we got pork, so a bit disappointed with food for the price we’ve paid! Cleaners were sleeping on the stairs which didn’t look professional! Expected a bit more from a resort! There’s a bike rental by the reception 250 baht for 24 hrs which was very convenient also a shop where snacks are available for double the price as 7-11! Washing machines were available behind the bike shop 40/50 baht per wash. Good thing though amazing view from our fourth floor room! Also if you find the pool on the deck there are sun beds available and you can get a beautiful view from up there! Very nice beach!
almost o.k.
the rooms are clean, personal is friendly, breakfast is good, the landscape famous, WiFi do not work really
Horrible customer services. Stay somewhere else on the island!
Great stay
A very nice and quite place to stay. The staff was very helpful, especially one lady at the front desk, she was very accommodating and spoke very good English. The beach was so, so, to many weeds in the water, good for snorkeling This resort is tucked up in the lush and tropical hills. A great place to relax.
Sleep on the street instead.
I never write reviews.. but this place was truly HORRIBLE. You can stay anywhere else in Koh Phangan for cheaper, better and a cleaner experience. I have stayed in many hostels and low budget hotels and don't expect much from these places... but this "resort" was truly something else: - it is a motel... not a resort (personally not a problem for me) - there was blood on the (unchanged) bedsheets - the staff tried to get us to pay twice for breakfast that was already included. we later found out they tried this with several other guests. - we put the do not disturb sign on our door. the maids went in anyway and left the door unlocked with all our valuables inside. - they AC was broken.. no they did not change our room. - our food took 1.5 hours to get there (not a big problem) - if you purchase a BBQ dinner there is a "salad and soup salad buffet" but they only refill their salad if enough people complain, and only give onion cold soup (no it didnt get cold... they never turned on the hot pot). they also ran out of bread by 7 pm. - everytime I passed the reception there was guest arguing with the staff because they were being accused of stealing something (minbar, towels..) - I tried to speak to the manager... he could not give less of a care and told the staff to bring me to the receptionist instead.
Backpacker Advice
The resort was fantastic. The room was clean daily, fresh towels provided, warmest shower we had on our trip. The staff were friendly and accommodating. There are mopeds on site available to rent which made getting around each. Staff organized round trip taxis to and from the full moon party for new years. Would definitely recommend for fellow backpackers or someone looking for a quality getaway for a modest price.
Wonderful, relaxing break
Really can't fault the hotel. Great view from room 415. Comfy bed and nice balcony.
lovely hotel and staff were polite.
beatiful place. right.close to beach. enjoyed every minute. knew the tide was out but cheaper and less crowded
Hotel good views
Overall hotel has good views beach was average low tide all day so not good for swimming we went at wet season june 2017 Hotel urgently needs elevators you need to be a mountain goat for the stairs are horrible steep and nasty and dangerous not good for seniors over 50 and familys with kids, we paid for superior but did not get what we paid for due to the stairs and was given room close to the massage and it was small and horrible the air con was noisy, bathroom below average, it was low season and not many people there and staff did not accomadate me in a better room. pool clean but need maintence tiles missing in pool, front staff need people skills, in low season a lot of resturants was closed, local people not really friendly and helpful . l would recommend the island for young energetic wanting to use motorbike for sightseeings, by the way lots of hills , taxis were expensive you pay 200 baht per person for one way and they also stop for drop of food and pick up other people on the way on your ride, food, drinks average also not cheap.Recomend friday nite at food festival in central If you want no frills this is the island to go. I would research hotels maybe other side of island for better accomadation.
Good value and amazing view
My stay was satisfying. The hotel is literally on the beach, got a proper pool and everything you need to spend a few days relaxing. Pretty only bad point : the wi fi didn't work so well in my room
Hotel on bay
Check in team great so had a good start but room uninspiring and up steep hill and steps. Team in restaurant had no idea and you were ignored and then served really really slowly
Dirty with no customer service
Upon check in gave us room in the back of the hotel overlooking garbage. The sheet were not even changed. When we complaint she said that we had pay Addisonal money to move us to another room. The internet from the room was not existent. On morning I went to the lobby and asked for some hot water because I was sick and had a sore throat . The staff were sleeping on the floor in the lobby and I was told that I could not have a cup of hot water until 7am when they opened. I had read some bad reviews about the hotel but I thought that they were excaturating. The true story is that you can not say enough on how bad this place is. Do yourself a favor and dont stay there.
Its a place I like because it met my expectation.
The room is spacious, but no tooth bush and toonth paste.
Not recommend
Horrible experience with the taxi service of the hotel, twice. The English of the reception was quite bad. The jacuzzi at the balcony has no privacy, the balcony can be accessed freely by the neighbor rooms. In the reservation description it was stated our room has a cofee/tea maker. We had to ask for it twice and show them its written....
Terrible
Nice Hotel, lovely beach
We had problems with our first room.. there was mould in the bathroom and a huge bug and the air conditioning did not worked. But the lady at the front desk was nice and gave us another room, which was totally fine. We stayed there 5 days until Full Moon and totally enjoyed it! There are many restaurants nearby at the beach so you have a bride offer.
Ruined our Vacation
Horrible stay. I'm very leanent with hotels but this one was the worst hotel we had in Thailand. It was so bad that I'm taking time out of my trip to write my first review ever. We checked in at 4 pm and went to our room to see that they hadn't cleaned it yet. Bed messy, garbage everywhere. Looked like someone had a party in it and room service hadn't came. We went to complain to the from desk and they ignored us. My boyfriend had to basically scream at them to get us a new room or atleast clean it. They gave us a new room which was a worse room then what we paid for. But they didn't care after we complained how much we overpaid for this new place. The wifi does not work throughout any of the hotel. I even went down to the lobby and it still didn't work. Horrible hotel, horrible service. Ruined our vacation to Koh phangan
Very Relaxing
Sea view room, awesome view from balcony, could sit out there for hours, very comfortable Bed and spacious room, Beach was amazing and quite lovely to walk along each day, good for a relaxing holiday
Not a 3 star
Service was horrible. Nothing around the hotel. Internet was nonexistent. Overall not a pleasant stay. No way near a 3 star hotel.
Best place in Haad Yao
Amazing hotel, free of unwanted animals and with such nice and helpful staff! Will 100% stay here again when I return to Haad Yao!
Nice hotel with a great view
The hotel staff is very nice. The restaurant is pretty good with a slightly higher than normal wait time. There is not much around so it is a very quiet place to relax and has enough for kids to do to stay entertained but also can be romantic for couples. My only complaint was the lack of things going on around me, but that was because I was by myself. It is excellent for relaxing but if you want to do more, you have to take a taxi to other beaches or parts of town as there is nothing within walking distance besides a 7/11 and a couple restaurants which were closed or creepily desolate every time I checked.
The location was great! Haad Yao is one of the most amazing beaches I've ever seen, it was so calm and quite. There are some nice European places to eat which were very good. The room was big and comfortable and really value for money. The erea is one of the best places in Thailand so if you like a calm beach with an amazing view, you should go there!
Haad Yao Bay Resort and Spa, very relaxing
Hotel was 20 minutes from the Pier, which was a Taxi ride (300Baht) provided by the resort at Haad Yao. Room at the resort was large and spacious. Breakfast was available at the hotel, or just a short walk down the beach to other resteraunts. Moped hire just outside the hotel was handy, and 2 supermarkets available for snacks / water / alcohol. Beach was around a kilometer long and best when the tide was in, when you could snorkell. Lovely bay and plenty of resteraunts close to choose from.
Though a little far out from activities (for us at least), the hotel is quaint and clean. The staff are very helpful and kind. Only drawback was the WiFi connection --very intermittent in our room/around the hotel.
Backpackers and noise
The hotel is quite basic. Big room but no frills at all (one towel per person). It was full of full moon party attendees, so like been in the middle of a backpackers spring break. Lots of noise and people running in every corridor until late during the night hours. Definitely not a romantic place to stay. Said that, is relatively cheap. So depends what you are after
Nice hotel located on beach
This hotel has an amazing view and location on the beach. It is truly breath taking. A night the beach lounge area turns into a dinner BBQ option which is cheap and delicious.
Nice hotel on beautiful beach
This hotel is truly located in the most amazing spot on the best beach on Koh Phagnan. The facilities are all nice and there is really no need to leave the area unless you are interested in site seeing other beaches. I can't imagine finding a better spot than this.
Won't stay here again
rude staff at tourist desk--hade a jacuzzi room... when we first arrived there was drink tourists in our jacuzzi. The rssort did nothing about it.
The stay was nice, but beware, The price with tax and commission is double.
Right on the beach
Place was right in the beach. No lit up to the appartments. Resturant is rather pricy comoated to local food. Great for hiring a scooter to travel around. Takes about 40 mins to scooter to full moon
beautiful beach where the hotel is located
The room was meant to be deluxe room with jacuzzi. There was nothing deluxe about it, for the price we paid in comparison to the other hotels we had stayed in during our trip this was the worst. It was tired, old and dated with a damp rotten ceiling, broken cheap chandelier above the bed it felt dirty and dingy and very dated.
Relaxing in Koh Phangan
Enjoyable and relaxing
Chill out before full moon
The hotel was fine in itself however staff were poor. Breakfast available from 8-10 means if you are on a tour no breakfast. One tour left at 8:30 and staff told us no breakfast as they could not cook it in time. We were the only two in the restaurant. However if we paid $10 they would make it quickly and put in a takeaway container for us. No hot water. Barely luke warm
Awesome T-Bone Steak!
The Haad Yao is perfectly placed to the North of Haad Yao bay. The hotel has a beautiful infinity pool next to the beach (however the water in the top pool was stagnant) and there are beds available on a terrace for guests by the beach. The food is very good yet service is slow. Our room was spacious with basic amenities but a cracking view over the bay. Be warned this is not a hotel for people who struggle with steep steps as the rooms are located up a hill. The resort is stand alone so away from bars and night life but the staff were able to supply a cheap taxi to Haad Rin which took about 40 minutes. All in all very happy with stayed here to enjoy Ko Phangan away from the main tourist traps.
Highly recommended relaxing, romantic getaway!
My husband and I booked this resort, because we were looking for a few relaxing days by the beach and pool. It delivered perfectly. The staff was super friendly and always willing to help. The pool was clean and not too crowded. The room was spacious and clean. The air con and hot shower both worked well and were much appreciated after fun days spent in the sun. However, the beach right outside the hotel left a little to be desired. The water fills with (harmless) jellyfish on windy days. After a bad day of trying to enjoy a swim in the ocean, we didn't try again for the next 5 days. The hotel also offers great excursion packages. We took a snorkeling trip with Black Coral Tours and had a great day out for a fraction of the cost of some of the more distant trips. The hotel restaurant was good, but after eating there 2~3 times a day for 4 days, we finally ventured down the beach and tried out some of the other restaurants. They were quite good too. This hotel is very isolated. If you're like us and don't want to rent a motorbike, you won't be leaving the grounds on your own without paying someone for a ride. That being said, it was a wonderful way to have complete relaxation and seclusion in paradise.
rude staff great view though
rudest staff - not one person smiled or greeted us entire stay. room as lovely with a great view. (Jacuzzi spa room) breakfast was terrible and the hot food is served completely cold, would not recommend
nice hotel at the end of had yao beach. Nice to go unwind for a few days. The beach is beautifull. Every night the hotel does a barbecue and put tables by the sea. I recomed it, is a good choice to relaxby the beach
The resort was clean and the bed was comfortable. The resort was overstaffed and not very helpful, especially the woman at the front desk.
Up a Hill
After reading bad reviews we were a bit nervous about this place. Rooms were clean and spacious but that's all it has going for it. Rooms are up a massive steep hill and the staff are very rude. Particularly the lady on reception.
Great hotel, but plenty of walking involved.
Huge, lovely rooms, great pool and fantastic food with reasonable prices. Right on the beach. Only negative is that the place is so big the walk to your room can sometimes be a long one with a serious amount of stairs.
Great Place
Had a Great Time! Amazing Beach and Not too crowded
Great stay
Travelling with my GF and 2 sons. Been in asia 5 weeks already. This hotel is very good. Clean rooms, nice area, good food good prices. Great staff. I highly reccomend.
Nice hotel , nice staff , recommended if you are looking for a quite stay away from the full moon party or even if you are attending still recommended.
great location
Very nice, got a great price. Breakfast is excellent. Lots of stairs, for people who want less, you must request. But the sea viview is wonderful. Lovely beach, right there.
Really bad.
all in all big disappointment. Service was poor and lazy. Also someone stole 4000bhts from our room. When we informed about this to hotels staff they told us that "yes there are robbers you should had put your money in the safety box". My friends money was well hidden in his backpack... Absolute disaster the whole place not worth of the money. We stayed here for 8 days. We would have left if it wouldäve been possible but no,again.
Spacious hotel room with good view.
Very beautiful seaside view. they have good out-sources facilities such as library, car & motorbike rental, fun outdoor trips & etc.
nice hotel
its a good place in case you just need a place to park your luggage. the beach is rocky so no swimming. In case you are coming to the island for the full moon party in that case look for a place closer to the rin beach...as transportation costs 800-1000 bhats one way (full tempo) from this place.
Satisfied for a 1 night stay
We were satisfied with the location of the hotel, as the beach area and views are nice. However, it is a half hour drive from the Port and about an hour from Haad Rin where the fullmoon party takes place. The hotel does have taxi service to and from the beach which is convenient. The hotel room was decent - however, it was not the most comfortable room and there is no separate shower (It's just a shower head beside the toilet). There is also no wifi inside the rooms, which we were not happy to learn about. I would prefer to stay closer to Haad Rin beach next time as there was not a lot to do around this hotel.
Great hotel
I stayed for 9 nights with my girlfriend in a ”superior double room with sea view”. The room was really nice and had a huge balcony with a magnificent view over the beach and sea. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful during all my stay. The front desk was helpful with arranging tickets etc., the cleaning of the room was impeccable and the waitresses in the restaurant were friendly and service minded. The pool was clean and nice and the restaurant good even though you can find more relaxed and cozy ones along the beach. In terms of value for money this hotel was excellent. I can really recommend staying here! Haad Yao is calm place with some super relaxed and nice restaurants on the beach. Some evenings one restaurant had a small beach party, but otherwise not much party right here. I can recommend hiring a scooter for the stay and visit e.g. Bottle Beach (via longtailboat from Chaloklum) and Haad Khom. I rented a 125 cc scooter at a very small place just 5-10 minutes walk up the road from the hotel and it worked well. The sunsets at the beach are amazing if good weather conditions!
Basic
Paid $60 au for one night (1800baht) currently paying 600baht for a room 4 times as good - shop around people is worn tired and needs some love to make it feel anything like comfortable
No Wifi in Rooms
Great hotel and staff but I got annoyed that the wifi didn't work in rooms!!!!
Little pocket of heaven
I always stay here when I go to koh phangang as it's just the most beautiful part of the island. It's a secluded little pocket of about 6 resorts right on the beach (which is hard to find). It's about 40 minutes from the full moon area but the hotel offers a taxi service.
Quiet place and good service
Very pleasant interactions with the staff. Helpful in all regards. Good breakfast, good food.
A mixed bag
This is a huge hotel on a steep hill overlooking the bay with gorgeous views. Not all of the rooms face the sea - ours looked towards the jungle hillside which was also quite nice. If you're in the upper building, the hike to your room is quite a workout but your legs and butt have never looked better (lol)! The staff is a mixture of kind, hard-working young people and a very moody manager. They tend to care more about getting your money than your vacation so don't expect a lot in the way of service. They were literally pacing outside our door at 8am the day of our checkout (checkout is noon). The included breakfast is very average and not much variety. We ate in other locations at least 2 of the 7 mornings.
Overall nice place
The wifi was not working very well, the tv was old and our room for 3 persons was rather small, other than that it was a nice clean hotel, really close to the sea, with tasty breakfast.
Terrible Customer Service
Unfortunately we had an accident in Koh Samui and were unable to make our stay and had to fly home to get to a Hospital. We called to tell the hotel we were happy for them to give our room to someone else. We never asked for a refund as we know this is not possible and wanted them to have the opportunity to give our room to another guest if they wanted to make more money. The response I had was that they couldnt talk to me as there were other people trying to call. This tells me that they are understaffed and have no regard to already paid customers. As soon as they found out we couldnt stay, they wanted me off the phone as soon as possible. I am pleased we didnt have to spend the second part of our Honeymoon at this hotel as other recent reviews have said they dont appear to be good. Please note the ratings are only for Overall & Quality. As we didnt stay, but had to put a number, so cant comment on the other ratings.
Family holiday
The hotel was situated in a lovely bay and had a few other restaurants close by as well as a few shops. We stayed in one of the superior rooms with a sea view and balcony. We did have to be asked to move rooms as this was not what we were allocated on arrival. Breakfast was included which was ok and well supplied. The rooms are nice and clean but the hotel is situated on a hill which means there are a number of steep hills and steps to negotiate - not easy with a baby buggy but still manageable. The only negative aspect was very bad staff. They gave you the impression you were bothering them when asking for simple services such as changing the bedding after baby got sick (which only happened 4 hours later!) or when asking for beach towels. There was only 1 cot for the whole hotel so one of the babies in the group did not have a safe place to sleep. Again, the staff came across as annoyed by being asked to make a plan for where the baby could sleep which ended up being on a thin mattress on the floor even though the booking was made many months before this, giving the hotel ample time to source another cot. The only positive comment I can make on any of the staff was that the restaurant staff were very friendly and attentative.
Fantastic Service
My husband and I stayed for one week. Wish we would have booked it for longer. The staff are excellent, in such a short time they knew us so well, always smiling, helpful, going out of their way to get us little things. Food was always delicious, great breakfast buffet. Love the atmosphere, pool was wonderful. The only down side to the hotel was in our room we had only one outlet to plug our things in. Very inconvenient when you have a phone, laptop, razor and iPad to keep charged. But we managed. Also best to rent scooters to get around the island. Easy to navigate, as the island is not too big.
Lovely Hotel and Location
Great location on the beach at the top of haad yao. Perfect for strolling along to the various bars. Quiet time of year which was perfect for us, imagine it gets a lot busier in the high season though. Staff were friendly and the standard of the room in terms of cleanliness was first rate. 7th hotel i've stayed at in Thailand and by far the best on that front. Would stay again
Pool
WIFI not provided in room, but being paid for. Pool not clean. Food repetitive.
WIFI
We paid for WIFI but did not get it. Food was repetitive. Swimmingpool not clean. Overall too much money for too little.
good view
Pretty good except for the construction noise going on at the building next door.
Nice Resort
Friendly staffs and services
I'm going back!!
Great overall experience, somewhat secluded area where hotel is, I stayed for a week, I'll be staying there again next year for sure. It's nice how it's kinda in the area on the Island where it's off on it's own, away from crowds and such.
Great view!!!
Awesome hotel provides transportation to and from the full moon party! Amazing view of the sunset.
Excellent hotel overlooking quiet beach
Great location, on the end of a quiet beach. Pool is great with waterfall, can drink beers & cocktails in pool. Free breakfast was great. Sunbeds on edge overlooking entire beach. Rooms smallish but all you need. Our aircon leaked heaps of water twice, luckily not onto any of our stuff. Free water daily. Would definitely stay again
Nice view, helpful staff. Lots of steps since it's cliff side. The island is over rated, try Koh Tao instead. Breakfast was the worst in over 2 months of travel. The air con never cooled the room, only made it tolerable. The view was excellent.
Nice Stay
If u are travelling with ur better half anf u require peace and beauty then this is best place... But if u like night life and fun, find hotels near Had Rin beach!!!!
Average
This is definitely a hotel for partiers and probably not for families. We paid for a "superior room" and although the view was nice the room was very average. The hotel is quite far away from everything, takes about 40 minutes to an hour in a taxi to get to the pier but taxis are very cheap and reception will organise these for you. The hotels biggest let down was the restaurant. The service was extremely slow every time we ate there, not good if you have evening plans. The menu is ok but definitely would not recommend the breakfast. There are a few small bars and restaurants on the beach which had much better service.
Does what it says on the tin
Nice location on the corner of the bay, close to beach bars and restaurants. Food in the hotel restaurant matches the prices of the nearest bars and restaurants. Front desk staff aren't overly friendly but they get the job done. Wireless internet was unreliable and out of service for extended periods of time and the hotel experienced a couple of power cuts while we stayed there. All in all you could do much worse on Koh Phangan.
Facilities: Above average; Value: Economical; Service: Go the extra mile; Cleanliness: Beautiful; The friendliness of the staff. It counts for a lot.
Happy Resaurant behind the pool is awesome.
LOVING Phangan
Absolutely stunning place in Koh Phangan. We upgraded to the seaview room and got exactly that - great view! Pool area is lovely and we ate pretty much only at the restaurant on site - great food for a really good price! :) We booked all tours through the hotel and our transfer back to Suri Thani - and got it 250 B cheaper then booking through a tavel agent on the main land. The only thing I will say is MAKE SURE that your transfers are included, we thought ours were and nearly got stranded on the Haad rin wharf!
Nice Hotel.
Good option to stay... Staff were helpful. Room was basic but views were amazing. We were collected from the Port that morning, very nice touch, cost for that was 120b, I would stay again,
Facilities: Top of the line; Value: Affordable; Service: Professional, Friendly; Cleanliness: Spotless; a good selection of bars and restuarants along the beach worth visiting
Exceptional value, great for couples
The hotel is the largest at Haad Yao beach and is positioned at the end of the beach with great view. We stayed in a third floor room, in the main building. large Balcony to enjoy sunset and fantastic views of the bay, however the balconies are not private. We were lucky as the hotel wasn't full. Previous reviewers have mentioned stairs, these comments are not exaggerated. Getting to the 3rd floor was a bit of a hike, there is a very steep ramp for about 20metres, but the main issue was the rise on the stairs being unusually very high. No problem for fit and healthy people, but if you have issues with your knees stay in the bungalows or a lower floor. The room was very spacious, good bed. Wifi was available in the room, but the signal was a bit intermittent and better on the balcony. The hotel restaurant was very nice, but there are lots of alternate options which are equally good which set up at night directly on the beachfront. Hotel staff were very helpful, organizing transport and our next accommodation, over and above expectations. We were surprised to get a complimentary transfer to the hotel from the pier, but had to pay 120baht each to get to the pier when we checked out. The beach is best for swimming in the late afternoon as the there omens in.here
Not what it's made out to be!
Unfortunately this hotel just isn't what its made out to be. Checkin was fine, with welcome drinks on arrival. However, after 1 night we decided to abandon the other three due to the fact that the staff looked like they didn't want to be there, often rude at times, the food at the hotel was exceptionally poor and upon check in we were told the internet might not work in the room so we might want to come outside to try it - it didn't work outside either. Not worth the hassle. The beach it is located on is very small and the sand is not soft, as the tide comes in so much its often just very hard and there is nothing around. There is no real means of transport other than car or taxi so it's probably best to choose another area.
Nice hotel
Hotel is situated on the opposite of the island to the full moon, the hotel collected us from the pier and dropped us back to the pier for a small fee. Hotel bar and resturant closes after 11, not much to do around the hotel at night. Lovely area right on the beach. Not suitable for groups and people who want to be in the thick of the full moon festivities.
Nice for couples and families..
Nice comfortable hotel, friendly staff if you ask questions. Nice restaurant and pool. Location is a quiet beach away from Haad Rin.. I found it was mostly families and couples staying here, not the ideal location for solo travelers. Transport around the island was expensive and difficult unless you were comfortable on a scooter. Room quality was good, tv reception was not great and a little fuzzy with some channels no reception. The Internet is only available at the reception area and even then the signal there is very weak, would be nice to have wifi from the rooms.. All in all a nice 4 days here, just a little too quiet for the solo traveller to meet others. Booking tours from the front desk was very simple though.
Haad Yao Bay View Resort and Spa - poor service
For the facilities,t his is an okay resort with nice beach, pool and restaurant. The problem is the stuff and their hostile attitude against customers. Actually, the service is probably the worst I've ever encountered in Asia. Just few examples - the pick-up from the pier was supposed to be free but after arrival the staff wanted to charge us (4 pax) 500 baht or kick us out - they were yelling to us 2 min after our arrival. There is a 500 baht deposit collected for the keys but the hotel does not return it unless you remember to ask it when you check out. Our room was not cleaned when we first got there. In the restaurant, there were many people waiting for their food for almost an hour. The breakfast was nice, but there wasn't enough food for all of the guests. The stuff was so rude when you were trying to ask for something. Do not stay here if you have other options!
