Unfortunate Check-In
Unfortunately we had a terrible check in experience where the hotel staff claimed the listing price was incorrect and would not let us check in without paying the difference on site. The hotel was nice but the experience was a bit ruined after our unfortunate check in with the hotel staff.
We had paid to Expedia full amount for 2 rooms one for our valued guest family whom we were giving a treat. When we or our guest who checked in before we came to hotel, manager gave us a bill of Rs 1,800/- or so. After heated argument for 1/2 hr we called Expedia and resulting into a call by Expedia to hotel manager, then he gave us room. Upsetting our reservation thru Expedia and stay at hotel. Not only this manager charged our guest the same amount. Being our guest we were embarrassed but it was softened when Expedia informed us that our guest will be reimbursed. Hope Expedia does this on their Indian credit card as we paid for both rooms on American credit card in America.
They tried to transfer me to a worse hotel
5 hours before my scheduled check in time, the Golden Tulips texted me to say that they’ve moved me to a different hotel. I made this reservation 4 weeks ago, and only the day of did they tell me that the rate at which I booked and PAID for my room is not what they’re charging anymore. In reality, they overbooked to make extra money and are taking it out on their customers. They had the nerve to try to paint it as a way to make us “more comfortable.” I don’t care how your rates change, this is not my problem. Give me what I paid for. I spent an hour on the phone with Expedia who were just as confused as I was until finally, magically, they had a room available for us.
Very Bad Managment
The managment changed All the rooms to another hotel withaut let us know in advantage/ No reason No Excuses No help for anything and Rude & UN polite !!!
Not to remember
When I booked this hotel, it was showing breakfast included. i spent 250 bucks extra. but at the time of checkout they gave me bill of breakfast. no one informed me that ur breakfast is not included in the package. 1400 Extra was paid.
A general disappointment
We may have been spoilt in other cities.. but the golden tulip Jaipur was a disappointment.. the staff never smiled.. bar two who worked in the bar and the cafe.. As two travelling women we felt very unwelcomed.. everything felt too much hassle when we were asking at the front desk.. we get ripped off by the taxis The rooms itself are basic but clean.. I was woken every morning by staff ringing the bell for no reason.. as well as being kept up by my windows vibrating with the club music on the rooftop bar.. the windows are frosted so I couldn’t see out anyway.. very claustrophobic. The shower was cold, at all times and when I tried to block out the club music with the tv that didn’t work very well either.. As a hotel that advertises itsel as world standard it has a long way to go, our homestay the previous night was 100% better. The staff on the desk were very unprofessional, giggling amost themselves at us when we asked for a taxi and also I never saw one of them smile at us.. they were generally rude and made us feel uncomfortable..
Great stay
Nice, comfy hotel with a great restaurant and wonderful staff.
We were allocated a room on 2nd floor , on the same wing as the PUB/Disco Room It was Noisy from 9.00 pm till 5.00 a.m At 12.30 am after several complaints and threatening to call the Police the front end staff agreed to shift us to a quieter wing.BY then it was 2.00 am.
Very good experience
My only concern is that the restaurant serves instant coffee. This is not proper at all for a hotel like this or even anyone else
Average hotel
Rooms are advertised as deluxe however are standard rooms in comparison to western countries. Rooms are a bit tired needs refreshing
NOT AS PER FORTUNE/TAJ GATEWAY/TRIDENT STANDARDS
QUALITY AND UNIFORMITY OF SERVICE WAS NOT AS OTHER HOTEL CHAINS LIKE TAJ GATEWAY/ITC FORTUNE/OBEROI STANDARDS
Not to great
Stay was okay not to great, hotel is overrated and needs upgrade
Beautiful hotel
My family and i stayed at this hotel for two nights. The staff was great and the rooms are amazing. The breakfast included a variety of choices and was delicious. I was definitely staff at this hotel again.
Great pool bar
Good facilities. Excellent buffet breakfast of indian & european food. Great pool bar with excellent menu choice & evening music. market price cocktails monday nite. Unfortunately though I was located in rm 430 under the bar, so the thud thud of the base everynight till late.
Very nice staff and service
Fantastic stay
HOTEL IS NICE BUT THEY DID NOT CONCERN .
I HAD BY MISTAKE MADE RESERVATION FOR 1 GUEST IN A ROOM THEN 2 GUEST. I REQUESTED THEM ABOUT THE SAME BUT THEY DID NOT HEAR. CHARGES FOR BOTH 1 GUEST AN 2 GUEST IN A ROOM IS SAME ONLINE. THEY SHOULD HEAR THAT.
Great Experience But....
The hotel interior is amazing but the moment I enter into the room...it was Ok only. Probably bcuz we had booked the room at last moment (3 hrs b4) or probably bcuz we got it thru hotels.com at discounted rate. Not sure about the reason but it was certainly not upto the mark. IMprtant - b4 developing any view please do check the size of room as they mention the same in the "Invoice" etc etc while booking. Treatment staff.....don't worry the staff won't leave any chance to make you realise that you have booked it thru "online discounted rate" but I appreciate that the staff were really very polite while doing so. AND ANd And and... If you are booking Suits than the entire staff is there only to serve to make you feel like Maharaja of Rajasthan. (we have been asked to change our seating twice bcuz the table we chose to sit to take dinner and breakfast got booked by sm1 else "at very last moment request" & as u know the Polite Sorry is the best trick to handle such situations. Overall the hotel is good to stay but for a middle-class family like mine it's all about the choice between "Tight Budget or Self Respect". By d way they do have swimming pool bar on roof top - do check about length.width of the pool. have a great stay
Breakfast
Must improve on South Indian food. Hemanth ur staff has great potential
Clean hotel, good location
Hotel was nice and clean, big room. When I spoke to the front desk about showering after we checked out they agreed and said we could. Once we returned from exploring Jaipur the staff at the front desk refused to let us shower, even after telling us we could. After 45 minutes of speaking with the staff they did finally allow us to and stick to their word. Other than this annoyance, the hotel was alright and facilities were good
Hotel in city centre
The hotel is situated in the heart of the town. This is the only highpoint of the hotel. From there on-wards the whole things downhill. This was one of the poorest experience I have had. the roof in the hotel is so low that my 6 foot partner nearly hit his head on the roof if he stood up straight. the room are like an afterthought to use some spare area. Food was below average. the staff definitely need a course in soft skills and customer handling. Overall a very poor stay.
Wifi and breakfast is poor
I stayed many hotel in Jaipur but this one give poor breakfast and they dont give wifi password at the last day beacuse I check out. Over all nice hotel.
Overall a good stay
Stay was very comfortable. Buffet breakfast is very good. Location of the hotel is awesome in the heart of the city. Overall a superb stay.
Great for a short stay
Neat clean hotel with comfortable facilities. Only problem is there is a mosque across the road which can wake you up early... Well located to railway station - only short ride .. Very security conscious checking of vehicles The hotel has a great coffee shop and bar available The buffet breakfast set me up for the day and had a good variety for all
Great hotel and good location fir site seeing
Staff at this hotel are very helpfull and cannot do enough would defenantly return
Good food and rooftop bar lounge
Very nice quality hotel. Delicious breakfast included with lots of options. The staff was always helpful and almost TOO attentive. I know it sounds ridiculous, but we even started to get a little annoyed that they called us too much, "will you be eating here tonight. Do you need anything? Do you need anything? Do you need more towels? How was the room service?" lol maybe they are bored. The hotel receptionists were friendly, but one of the ladies didn't understand us when we wanted to split the bill during check out. Anyways, overall, one of the best hotels we stayed at in India.
The hotel was clean however I was promised a king size bed executive room but I got super deluxe which had queen size and it was difficult to get along with a kid. The house keeping also didn't cleaned the electric kettle.. However the breakfast was good. The staff at Marigold restaurant was also very warm and welcoming
Excellent stay at the price we paid.
I would like to go back again and again here to have a week long vacation. Really nice ambience and hospitality.
Very clean hotel
Very beautiful hotel . Amazing selfie areas in lobby . Without saying they upgraded our rooms . That hospitality was awesome . Breakfast superb . We were around 16 persons all of us are Recommending with high points
Very elegant
My Omani friend and family had stayed and they claimed it was too good stay and everything was just superb and fantastic. Extremely wonderful experience.
Nice hotel at a reasonable price
This hotel was closer to downtown Jaipur and was very nice. The rooms were quiet, had a good view of the Tiger fort. The food was very good too and the staff was very helpful. We will recommend this hotel to any visitor to Jaipur.
excellant hotel, possibly the best in central j
a fantastic stay, good well mannered staff, the hotel is really a true five star hotel, will definatly stay again.
Very bad experience
There was a music band staying in the same floor in in day two of my stay making a lot of noise and practicing in the suite next door and talking and smoking in the hallway from 5:00 pm. To 9:30 pm. And from 3:30 am to 5:00 am . I called the front desk about 7 times to take care of the problem but they couldn't take care of it and suggested that I move to another floor?????
Overall very good. Cleanliness, wifi, service. Room, pool, gym, bar, location excellent. Excellent restaurants nearby. Only down check was included buffet breakfast.
The Golden Tulip did not charge extra for more thn half an hour of Wifi, what most other 4 star hotels did. The service was better than in the other 4-star hotels.
Nice hotel close to places of attraction
The hotel is close to Hawa Mahal, City Palace and Rajmandir Cinema. Hotel is nice, clean and easy to commute to any place in the city
Untrained reception- a scary experience
We were a bunch of 7 guests (3 foreign) on a weekend trip to Jaipur. We reached the hotel at 2 pm on 4th Feb and approached the reception for our check in's (4 single occupancy and 1 double bed). The reception gave us the keys for 3 of the rooms and requested us to wait for sometime till the other 2 rooms are cleaned completely. As we were getting late, we left the hotel informing them we would return by the night. Later, when we reached the hotel at around 10:45 pm and requested the reception executives to release the 2 remaining rooms. The executives flatly refused to give us the rooms quoting the reason that they do not have it in the system. We protested and informed them that we have room confirmations. The executives wont budge. We then spoke to the executive who had checked us in in the morning. He said he would check and went away. He never returned. We then asked the executives at the desk to call the duty manager. He was rude by saying that there is no duty manager at these hours and he cannot help any further. After spending more than an hour arguing and convincing, he agreed to give the duty manager's mobile number. We tried on the number and the number was busy with repeated attempts. We asked the executives to check again as we had no where to go at that hour in an unknown city. He then realised that we did have those 2 rooms after going to the paper work. He wouldn't even apologise for all the confusion. Got the rooms at 12:15 am..Shoody service!!
Very Nice Hotel
Very good experience while staying in this hotel. From its main entrance it doesnt look to be such a nice hotel. Little improvement in morning breakfast will add value and make it a perfect stay venue. Large & cleaned rooms, well behaved staff. Better if dental & Shiving kit can be provided in washrooms.
Location wise it's very good.
I have talked to hotel over phone of hotel for providing me a complimentary shuttle. Name of the persons: 1, Ms Garima Front Office Manager 2. Mr Umesh,Supervisor Front Office Date of talking on Monday, 27th January, 2017. They have refused for this service. I have made my arrangement and checked in . I have given them the confirmation of the Hotel.com which says that " A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary to guests ( available on request). I have been assured to do . But they have done nothing. I need to know who is misleading ? Either Hotels.com or the Hotel ?
clueless reception staff
got overcharged by the hotel at the time of checkout. on being asked for an explanation the staff didn't know what they had charged me extra for. the check-in was extremely chaotic and not done like regular hotels. ps - please bear in mind that the hotel charges guests for ice. not a very large sum but it was a first for me at any hotel.
Convenient stay in heart of the city
Overall the stay was nice and the hotel is well located for easy access to the Pink city and the railway station. Good for its price with a decent breakfast.
Horrible hotel management!
Worst management ever seen. Deliberately cancelled our reservation half an hour before our arrival. Saying there is an electrical issue in the room. Coincidentally another person from UK heard the same excuse. Very rude front desk and absolutely a rip off! Please delist this hotel from Hotels.com since people coming from far off distance should not face such harassment. I am coming from California, US got a very bad impression about the hotel and I will not trust Hotels.com for my future booking as well.
Good hotel in good location
Hotel was good but not impressed with Front office Management especially reservations as not focused on Customer service Forgot to send Shuttle to airport and no explanations either Hotel is very good though was upgraded by Santosh and breakfast was adequate
Relaxing hotel in a lively area
Room was large, but condition was not perfect. For the price, one of the better hotels I have stayed at in India. The location is convenient to the main road, but the hotel is set back enough that it is quiet and relaxing. I would stay here again.
Convenient And super clean
Nice Hotel, a bit far From the street noise. Staff friendly And helpful
If you are going for relax and no disturbance this is not the hotel as the hotel have opened a club by the name F Club which is a harassment for the people who stay in hotel and music is heard in the rooms as well they change their elevator for residents and you need to enter through bouncers of the club which is non sense. so basically hotel is overall good but the F club is a very disturbing factor
Much to improve on.
The hotel could have been better- my room had no windows in it and felt quite dark. I was disturbed one evening at 1:30am by roomservice, which I did not order. There was a nice cafe in the lobby, however the staff working there never seemed to be around and it took me about 15 minutes just to get my bill.
Nice hotel. Really good breakfast....
Had a really good stay. Easy to get around. Nice food. Awesome staff. Jaspreet at the front desk looked after us really well. They didn't have interconnecting rooms for my family so upgraded us and gave rooms next to each other.
The Golden Tulip is in a perfect position
Tucked in and hidden from view behind the main street, eliminates the noise, and hassle& bustle of Jaipur's main street. This is my second visit to The Golden Tulip I have nothing to fault. Excellent all round!
In the heart of city centre
The hotel is located right in the city centre, very convenient. Breakfast is pleasant. Hotel has been around for some time but it is very very well maintained. Internet is not fast. Room is very big and comfortable.

The room was ok, the main problem was during check in, they charged more money, just because the fare was higher...
