1. Positive: The staffs was able to accommodate early check in. 2. The restrooms was always clean. 3. Negative: Upon checking in, we did not given the code to the tent or the code to the restrooms. Had to waste time chasing down the maintenance worker to help. 4. Negative: The outside patio light was not working and had to wait around for the maintenance people to come by and fix the issues. The remote to the light was very glitchy even the maintenance crew admitted. 5. The unit we booked is for 4 people and the kitchen amenities was not enough to accommodate all of us. Example the pot and pans is very small and not enough to cooked for 4 people. Overall I would say the experience is average.
Great location for the family.
The maintenance man Paul is so nice and friendly he definitely made our day.
We stayed in the Ranch Cottages. The living area, kitchen, and the bathroom were very dark - an extra set of lights would be appreciated. Floors were a bit dirty - I think better sweeping and mopping would have been great. Otherwise, our stay was really nice.
Please take better care of the units
We have stayed at Flying Flags several times. While an RV campground primarily, we stay in one of the several small units added over the years. These small units offer families an alternative to a typical hotel room. The units we stayed in all show their age and are used hard. The wear and tear shows. If you go in with low expectation you will not be let down. If you go in thinking a three or four star hotel, you will be let down. This year, for example, the floor was dirty again, the TV in the main room needed to be reset, the refrigerator had a water leak/condensation onto the shelves, the bathroom door would not shut without lifting and sliding (kids could not operate), the bedroom door would not stay open (and has the only heater for the unit - wedged open with a piece of bark), the gate door outside would not latch, and, the worst, sewer gas vented into the unit one evening requiring us to run all sinks/faucets and vent the unit. This sewer gas issue happened once before and the maintenance guy blamed the RV park’s plumbing. Wing designed for RVs and not units. If Flying Flags did not have the kid friendly pools and playground we would not return. Every time we discuss switching back to a regular hotel. Tbd.
Amazing amenities and kid-friendly atmosphere
Absolutely loved our stay at this location in terms of the amazing amenities they have and kid-friendly options everywhere! I didn't enjoy the check-in process because we arrived 15 min before 4, and they wouldn't let us check-in. I came back after walking around for some time & the line was crazy to get the keys. I understand that you have a policy but some flexibility for someone that wants to ✔️in a few min before isn't that big of a deal, it's a big site & can take a while to get back & I had all my bags with me and no car. Tessa at the front desk eas helpful & even gave us some champagne for our trouble but there should be sone flexibility on this rule if you are that close to check-in time.
Came here for the experience and it exceeded all my expectations. Will stay here again in the future.
Great for families
Great!
We stayed in the wine cottage which was really nice.
Overall amazing
Was a great stay in an arrow stream
I really liked it, a lot of kids, not to much noise at night.
Beautiful place to stay.
Stayed in Airstream. A lot of fun. Very safe, well maintained environment. Enjoy my stay.
Wonderful places to relax. Alot to so in the warmer months.
It was ridiculous that there was no heater in the cold winter and there was no note about it and no refund. Also, there was no information that the shower and toilet facilities were far away.
Great stay
Great experience. Check in was very friendly and helpful. We were able to get extra blankets easily and brought to our room. We stayed in the Tiki Tent which was comfy and clean. Minimal with a shared bathroom, but it was very close and secure.
Property ground was really nice with the amenities. Cottage was a little outdated but comfortable. The room a bit small with 2 small table. Not much room to set things in the room
It was very good experience
Not a great stay
Sad to say our stay wasn’t great. Big spider in the loft that the kids found, you have to make your own beds, unit was pretty run down, broken sliding bathroom barn door, broken toilet paper holder, most wooden surfaces very worn with finish coming off, walls could use a fresh coat of paint. Be aware that many of the tiny houses are literally on the other side of the freeway walk, so significant road noise that made sleeping difficult and the kids were up at 5am from the noise. We won’t be staying here again.
Great location near Solvang
We stayed in one of the cottages. Cottage was as described. It was well stocked with towels and cooking items. Location is very child and dog friendly. Great place to stay with family and friends. Facility has events planned as well. There is also a dog park located behind the cottages.
Cute, cozy cottage!
Very Cold Experience
The trailer was extremely cold! It was 36 degrees outside and we could see our breath indoors. There was a heater on the opposite side from bedroom that I had set for the highest it could go but it kept shutting off and didn't do anything for the bedroom. Bed had a very thin blanket and no spares. We had to sleep with two pairs of pants and a sweatshirt and my son was blowing in his hands to keep warm during the night. We took showers to warm up and the grout had mildew on it. The toilet also is broken with the tank not refilling and just running unless handle is messed with a bunch to get the stopper to engage. This might be an ok place to stay when it is warm but definitely if going during the cold season find a different place or bring your own blankets!
We really enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and cozy.
A wonderland of Rv living
We rented one of the airstreams it was a very cool experience to grill outside have a fire pit and have a very clean modern RV to ourselves we will definitely be back we stayed in the superior Airstream I'm looking forward into trying some of their other property like the tiny homes
Loved the surf cabins!!!!
Great place for my first time glamping.
Such a cute tiny house.
Fun and relaxing RV campground with glamping trailer and cabin options as well. We enjoyed our cabin with full amenities for a family of 4
Such an amazing place to vacation! Love the pool and playground for the kids!
Great service
Overall, very clean location. Staff very friendly, helpful.
Nice
It was great. There is a new wristband policy to use the pool. One vehicle per cottage. $5/day for extra vehicle at cottages.
Our room was clean. Bathrooms near by and clean. I liked that we could use the gym at the hotel next door. Pizza restaurant was delicious and convenient.
.
It was wonderful, my boyfriend and i would like to build our own tiny house in the future. The entire place was nice and clean, it is a family and pet friendly campground, we will definitely come back and bring family members.
didnot have a heart or AC just a blower
First time there but won't be the last.
It is a great location for families with kids that need entertainment for the kids and having a kitchen in the units is a big advantage. Downside it the noise. We stayed in the Santa Ynez Ranch buildings and the Highway 101 traffic noise and vibrations was tough - impacted going to sleep, reading, and early morning noise from trucks and larger vehicles going down the highway. The facility gets a lot of use so maintenance personnel are always around fixing community locations like fire pits, BBQs, etc.
Best Glamping experience ever! The safari tents are nice but are showing some wear & tear. Zippers need to be patched and fabric replaced. Still it's a great place. The top bunk of the King Tent with bunk beds is basically unusable. The top of the tent leans right over it, essentially making it like a coffin. But there's a full couch that can be used that's a lot more comfortable anyway. We'll be back.
We enjoyed the cabin. Staff could have been more friendly
I found Flying Flags a great place for family to gather and have a great time. They have so many activities and amenities to choose from.. Thanks for having us.
No one was there to ever answer a question on the phone. I understand that we’re analog people in a digital world however, I’m sure we’re not the only ones. We were unable to get the stove and oven in our unit to work. When we ask the front desk about it, in person, They couldn’t answer the question or whether they worked or not. The receptionist was very nice and she offered to have somebody come by and look at it, but we were leaving. We had an appointment with friends. It was not convenient. In our unit, we saw a very old panel heater and there was a modern split system air conditioning unit, however, we couldn’t figure out how to make the heat work and I wasn’t gonna try to light an old panel heater. When I asked one of the guys in golf carts moving around the property working, they said they didn’t know and they would have to turn it over to somebody else. We asked for coffee and didn’t get it. I stopped one of the guys in golf carts and said we have not had any new towels in a couple of days and they promptly brought over way more towels than we would ever use. There’s a little bit of a disconnect between management and staff. Everybody on staff was well mannered and polite and extremely nice. However, I couldn’t get my questions Answered. We sold our motorhome. We’ve stayed at flying flags several times with the same group of friends and Neighbors. We all like your facility and plan to come back. Next time I will not rent a vintage trailer or a tuna can”.
Best resort in the area, hands down.
Well maintained property and great amenities.
Loved the property! Store had good prices and friendly cashiers.
Fun to do with friends and family
The Loft Cabins were great. Plenty of kitchen ammenities for cooking and/or BBQ on site, Fridge also a resonable size with freezer. Albertsons near by, so loading up with fresh groceries after arrival was easy. There were only 15-20 cabins in our section with it's own Pool and Spa. Solvang is close by for nice breakfast/lunch trip and walking of the streets/shops, and of course Osterichland on the way. Will definately be back again
I stayed in one of the old vintage trailers. I loved it . I believe the theme was “ Bomb Shell” Marylin Monroe theme. It was pink inside. Super cute. Perfect for a overnight trip with my daughter and I. Would definitely do it again.
I liked the kid friendly environment. They had special activities for the kids like movie night.
Glamping
Is perfect for camping in a glamorous way.
Beautiful camping experience . Will be back for next summer!
This was the best place for a family vacation. The amenities were outstanding and we had something to do everyday on property. We stayed in one of the Airstreams and it was perfect for my family of 4. The pool was clean and beautiful, the evening live music and bbq was so much fun. We will be coming back next year!
Amazing park
Had an amazing stay with husband and two young kids on our road trip from LA to Monterey. They loved the safari tent and the bathrooms were close by and very clean and good quality. A real family atmosphere around the park and fantastic facilities including the pools, casual dining areas, large play spaces for kids, and a great pizza at the onsite restaurant. We felt very safe with lots of staff around the place including security at night. The vineyards around the individual cabins were gorgeous! Buellton was a lovely little town too. Thank you from four Australians!
I want to preface this review by saying the end result was receiving a refund on my stay. Ultimately it was a chance meeting that resulted in that outcome and I am appreciative of the individual who helped me navigate through a very difficult situation, My family has stayed here in the past and it used to be a good place for families and kids to enjoy a quality family time. Unfortunately there was so many failures from management and the front office staff that it was truly amazing at how a collective group of people could fail so miserably. I am a business owner and I would be out of business if my staff and myself conducted business in the manner that we experienced during our stay. I am realistic in the fact that I do not expect perfection. However, what I do expect is people who are getting paid to actually do their job. Unit was not cleaned well so we did have to clean. New wristband policy that isn’t enforced and we paid for an area which had specific wristbands and at check in were told we had to wear them and it was specific to our Ranch cottage. The short of it is that other people invite family and friends to utilize the property that aren’t staying there. Upon discussing with staff they demonize you and had Darcel tell me I was discriminating against the family. Carlos and Melanie are awful. Not enough characters to state it all. AC broke twice flooding the bed and had to stay at Sideways Inn. Overall just a failure of staff and they admitted as such.

Loved the campground, tents might not be for you
Flying Flags was a really fun experience. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the park, all the amenities (pools, convenience store, live music, food trucks, outdoor games area), security checks throughout the day and night, bathrooms, and location. The BBQ food truck and woodfired pizza were both good. We stayed in the safari tents and the tents were clean, comfortable, and had solar power and nice mattresses. Our only complaints are the amount of large brown spiders in and around the tents (we had 4 tents and all 4 found large spiders on a daily basis, we had one crawl out of sheets after our first night). The security team drove by throughout the night and scanned a QR code outside our tent with every check and this did wake us up multiple times throughout the night. The safari tents are also located next to a busy street and street traffic was quite loud. I recommend ear plugs and bug spray.
We had our own pool area aside from the other 2 pools. Close to town and real family friendly environment
I had a great time in our wine cottage the unit has some wear and tear on the walls and scuff marks when we arrived but to be expected I guess , all the items needed were provided with the unit and it was clean ….
Not clean
The little streamliner was very dirty. Lots of spider webs and had a very mad mildew smell. It was very outdated and the curtains had stains. It worked for the 2 days and I would not do it again
Great
We had a wonderful time with the family.
Its so family oriented and people respect each other.
In all, the property was great. Staff were friendly and helpful, the pool areas played great music and the food offered was delicious. The cottage we rented could have been cleaner. The floors, couch and window sills were dirty and the patio furniture was covered in debris. We had to clean it ourselves before using it. The kitchen could have been better appointed as well.
The staff were polite. The brew house cabins are spacious. It is very well kept and quiet.
We love how family friendly the campground is. This is our second time staying here. The only issue we had was a toilet that took multiple flushes. No biggie tho.
Everything about this place is top notch!!
Amazing place great staff, specially Brandon who was the manager at that time, he helped us with our accommodation issue and he handled it great. Very clean units. Loved it.
Our favorite go to spot with our family
Great property to be with the family or as a couple.
We loved everything about this place. It is a little piece of heaven that is not too far from home. Can't wait to come back!!
.
Love it here
Positive experience
We stayed in a Santa Ynez ranch cottage. Our cottage was clean and very well stocked with items. We arrived early and they were so kind to provide us with an early check in and in a great location. The staff is wonderful and we look forward to staying again
Nice family place!!
The staff is always friendly and attentive, the cabins, bedding and and towels are nice and clean, we felt safe within the grounds, nice fire pits, for everyone to use, the kids love it, great food, quiet after 10pm. It’s great, we love it they can use harder pillows but overall it’s 100% Aces!!
Check-in was fast and easy. Great detailed map of campground. My family and I stayed in the Safari tent site with two queen beds. We enjoyed the overall privacy of our designated area. Our tent site came with our own reserved parking for 1 vehicle as well. Bathrooms with shower are very conveniently located a few steps away. The place was very clean overall. Bathrooms could of had a more welcoming scent. If you’re a light sleeper bring ear plugs as the birds are up 24/7. Also, outside noise/neighbors can be heard easily though the tent. It didn’t bother us one bit but just a something to note. A lighter or matches would be great to bring, it’ll help light the gas fire pit. Site it also equipped with your bbq grill and table for serving. Due to weather we didn’t use the pool areas but they looked very nice. Overall an amazing getaway for the weekend.
It was our first stay and we will be back! The private gated Santa Ynez Ranch private cabins area was wonderful. The private pool was warm the private area spa was huge. The outdoor patios on our cabin was really nice with close parking and private bbq patio shaded deck with cozy furniture seating. Can’t wait to retun with more family and friends. We love having a full size kitchen.
Great check in. Always a good stay here.
Immaculately clean. Great fun.
This community is so much more than meets the eye. My family and I had a great time utilizing some of the amenities on site, such as the basketball, courts, the Jacuzzi and the pool lounge. I personally enjoyed walking to the office to get some hot they also have a small convenience store if you forgot anything coffee and hot tea in the evening.
NYE with the family
We brought the family up here to spend NYE, each having their own cottage. The cottages were clean, beds were comfortable. Dishes, cookware were supplied. We all enjoyed our stay.
Great place for families
It was awesome
Beautiful
Great and clean property. Staying in one of the tiki hut tents was fun. A plug in heater would have been a nice addition
The tent was nice and big so was the bed. Could be more temperature controlled
Love coming here! A walk in the morning and night is so peaceful and relaxing. The places to stay are also very clean and homey. Will definitely come here again!
We are frequent visitors to this property! Very unique, always enjoyable!
very nice fun place the only thing is the cottage was not as clean a little dusty and their netflix and Wifi was not working. but over all is a fun place to stay at.
Loved this place and will definitely stay again1
We stay at Flying Flags several times a year. We enjoy glamping at this property. It’s always maintained and visitors respect the noise levels. Unfortunately we had a faulty refrigerator this visit after we spent almost $100 at the local market most of our food froze both nights in the very small fridge. Also we requested a noon check out snd we’re denied even though the property was 1/3 full. That was disappointing.
Excellent
Everything was beautiful
Never went "glamping" before so we decided to book a couple of nights at Flying Flags. Drove up, checked in, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We found our Tiki tent...cute and roomy. Walked around the grounds and met the friendliest of campers. Staffers everywhere, were busy keeping things clean, and orderly. I expected late night revelers (as the case in many campsites) but by 10 pm all was quiet. If I had any questions, the office was helpful and accommodating. I'll be returning to Flying Flags again and recommend it to others.
Very family friendly, grounds were clean and cabins were clean. Service was excellent
Nice property but the cabins are not in good condition. Best to stay in RV spot.
