Quiet and romantic hotel with picturesque views! Extremely unique hotel etched into the side of a cliff. There are a TON of steep stairs to access the property and rooms, this is not the hotel for you unless you are in shape. The staff were extremely eager to please and helpful. The food was also very very good. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

Staff for incredible. Our private heated jetted plunge pool was amazing. Cave pools were great. Our view was great and our private sunset view everynight!

It was the must beautiful hotel and the staff was warm and welcoming. Would never stay anywhere else in Santorini.

Esperas was a great experience - great staff, food, and the view is amazing!

I arranged my entire trip around being able to stay at this property. I also saved it for the end of my vacation. I was surprised to find my room had used dirty dishes and it made me wonder what else was not really cleaned. I did report this to the front desk and after having the restaurant bring clean coffee cups I mentioned that the maid would not need to come by. The next morning bright and early I could see her coming to my room while I was eating breakfast. She was annoyed that I had the do not disturb on my door. She came back again while I was resting in bed so I told the front desk again that my room did not need to be serviced. Then as I am standing in the shower, she comes back a third time. Up until this, I had a good level of communication with the front desk, so not sure for the new disconnect. I also got very sick after the first night and I suspected it was from the air conditioner. I overhead a few other guests at breakfast mention the same thing. I ended up having to turn off the air while in the room and to sleep with the windows wide open which left me a little concerned. Only upsetting for spending so much money to stay there. That being said, the breakfast and the staff there were great. The views were incredible. They have staff that will help with baggage and they will arrange shuttle service for a fee.

Nice common spaces but sparse rooms

The property and its common areas are beautiful and pristine and meet all of your Santorini dreams. But then our room was incredibly sparse. There was an elevated bed wedged back into the cave and a ladder back style chair at a table. Nowhere comfortable to sit when a brief respite from the hot sun is needed. You could not even sit on the bed without crawling up onto it. We needed this a few times and the lack of this kind of soured us on the place. That said, overall the staff is wonderful. They helped with the bags which was a god send due to the large amount of steps mentioned in other reviews. Restaurant staff was also delightful.

What a beautiful place!! The views are indescribable, the staff absolutely wonderful and such quaint rooms. Each room has a view of the caldera sunset. The breakfast was delicious and you could either eat on the terrace of your room or on the terrace of the restroom. Either spot was amazing! There are ALOT of stairs but if you go to Santorini stairs are expected. The hotel had porters that carried all of our luggage! We were quite spoiled!

Esperas Fantastico

If you going to stay in Oia may as well do it in style - we had our own patio and plucge pool and breakfast served on our own patio (euro20 extra) with the incredible Oia sunsets it was a once in a lifetime type experience

Best hotel in Santorini. We saw the sunset across most of the island on our stay and this was the best position. While everyone crowds on boat trips, Oia castle, Akrotiri lighthouse, etc you can relax here and see the best sunset from Esperas. It is easy to find (between the two windmills there is a path down some steps at the bottom turn left and follow until you reach gate saying Ombra). Absolute privacy, unlike many premium Oia and Fira hotels where you have people constantly walking past you. Super convenient for Oia and Ammoudi Bay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool was amazing (though shuts at 7pm). Room booked was Premium Studio with Sunset View, 104 was small but comfortable cave house (aircon was superb). Atmosphere was generally quiet and chilled. Food was luxurious and expensive, but small portions, would recommend the lamb. Breakfast was amazing every morning, I would recommend go large on the first day with a mix of items and then mix it up over your stay. Parking near there is very hard, especially at sunset time, use What3Words to get to nearest car park (///imaged.ghostly.elapses). Porters will collect you and your bags showing you the way to the hotel from here. Advise using buses it is really cheap and convenient. Swim in Ammoudi Bay or take a trip to Perissa for the best beaches. The best hotel in the whole of Santorini an absolute number one location!

A beautiful property with amazing views of the sunset! The staff and service are top notch! Highly recommend. The steep steps are not for everyone though so be aware of that but if you want a quiet beautiful property in Oia this is the spot!

truly beautiful hope. the location is superb. You will get the sunset so need to fight for position or get there hours earlier to grab a spot. It is on the end of Oia (I think), but that means you are away from the maddening crowds and tourists but within minutes walk to all of that. You will not go wrong with this hotel.

Our stay here was lovely. An absolutely amazing view. It was quiet and peaceful, and a quick walk to all the action. The pool was nice to hang out at. The only small thing to note is the bar by the pool was extremely expensive. We enjoyed buying a bottle of wine at the market and enjoying it on the balcony of our room.

Great location and great service in a quieter end of Oia with easy access to the centre (providing you can handle stairs). Would come again when visiting Santorini.

Beautiful hotel. Beautiful view. Perfect hotel for relaxing. Staff was very friendly. I felt as though they were almost too attentive. Knocking on my door and calling a bit too much for my liking. I’m a female and a couple of the male staff had asked me out which made the rest of my stay not as relaxing. I was not there to date or anything like that.

Magical Honeymoon

This was the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed at. We had a room with the plunge pool (111) and still dream of the views from our room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with anything we needed from rides to food recommendations. Thank you Esperas! Great mini-bar and breakfast every morning.

Beautiful hotel in the perfect location. Very quiet and relaxing but very close to the action in town. The pool overlooking the bay was incredible, and the breakfast and pool servers made our stay extra special.

Escape to your romantic Santorini Sunset getaway…

Esperas is a beautiful Santorini escape nestled away from the crowded streets but close enough to all the main attractions. Located on the western end of the city of Oja, it’s perfectly situated to watch evening sunsets from your room, your private veranda or from the multi tiered pool area. The service was impeccable with amazingly attentive young people from Athens who were friendly and extremely helpful. I have to also commend the porters who carry your luggage up and down multiple steps to navigate the narrow streets from the car area to the hotel and back. I only had one minor complaint which is the beds are a bit too firm for us, but given how the room was designed in an Ancient Greek tradition without normal bed frames, I am still very happy with our selection and would give Emperas 5 stars.

The service at Esperas was wonderful. Everyone was very helpful. The location was also great. I wish we had upgraded to higher level of suite than what I booked but that was on me, not the hotel. It would have been better if, when I had booked the room, it had more realistic photos of the type of room that I booked. The photos I saw online were only of the higher category of rooms so when I arrived, I was a bit disappointed to see how small the room was.

Stunning place to stay with absolutely beautiful views. Lots of stairs so you need to be able to walk up and down them. Staff assists with carrying luggage to your room. The staff provides 5 star service. We opted for a plunge pool unit. Walking around the area was a shopping, dining, and photo op dream. I had to stop and take pictures every 5 steps. Best place I have ever stayed.

Esperas exceeded our expectation in every way! The facility is clean and beautiful while located almost in the heart of Oia. We were blessed with a beautiful sunset view every day. It is in walking distance of Oia center. The breakfast was delicious and all the staffs are friendly and helpful. We highly recommend and will definitely return.

The hotel is situated beautifully on the hillside overlooking the calderas for unrivaled views and sunsets! It’s accessible only by foot so we have an even greater appreciation for the excellent service from staff, how hard they work and the accommodations!

Excellent location, located at the heart of Oia. The hotel itself is picturesque. Staffs are friendly and helpful. We loved their breakfast. The view from the property is mind blowing. We had an amazing time there.

We really enjoyed the food and warm hospitality. Everyone was very pleasant and welcoming. The staff was attentive to our needs and knowledgeable of the history of Santorini/Greece. Esperas had the best Greek salad hands down! The views were amazing!

Had a wonderful stay at Esperas in Oia. The views of the Santorini Caldera are amazing and we were very spoiled by the sunset views. Our room was very clean and perfect for what we needed and we looked forward to our breakfasts every morning with that incredible view. The front desk/concierge was very helpful and and bell hops made our lives easier bringing our luggage through the tough hike up and down. Fair warning though, there are a good amount of steps so not great for those who are immobile. Overall, incredible time at Esperas and would love to come back next time we're in Santorini.

Wonderful place with an amazing view, and wonderful staff!

Our stay here was lovely! We felt so spoiled!! We were met at the hotel by a very strong “Georgian” man who carried allll of our luggage down many walkways and dozens of stairs to the hotel reception and ultimately our room (dozens of stairs more) then greeted with cool beverages and treats as we checked in. All the staff were so polite and eager to assist in any way necessary to make out stay the best. The views from the restaurant, which is also where breakfast is served are breathtaking and something we never tired of. If sunset views are a priority to you, you will get no better viewing than here and you won’t have to fight the crowds for them either. The location was not as crowded which made for a more relaxing/ quiet feel. If you are looking to be in the middle of the masses and see all the stereotypical white cave like structures all around you, this might not be the place for you. It is the end of the “strip” in Oia near the castle ruins and so you see a good bit of the rugged cliff, not as much of all the white structures. For us it was perfect! So many people vacation to this beautiful island and it was nice to feel a little secluded from the chaos and yet close to great dining options. The facilities and service were top notch!! We would definitely go back. Highly recommend Esperas!

The hotel is situated in an ideal spot, away from crowds, overlooking the Ammoudi harbor. The view from the balcony is stunning - a ringside seat at the caldera for the famous Santorini sunset.

Beautiful place! Perfect sunset view. Friendly staff. Perfect honeymoon place. We stayed in room 114 and it was just perfect. Lots and lots of stairs…..very close to the main points you want to see…

The property has beautiful views however there are some drawbacks. There are a LOT of steps to climb to go anywhere and there is no elevator. The breakfast is delicious but the things you order may show up or not on various days. The restaurant staff and reception desk are very polite, especially the breakfast servers . The pool tends to get dirty and they will not or do not have the staff to clean it for you other than early in the morning so you will be fishing bugs out yourself. (They did let us use the neighboring empty room’s pool upon request which was nice. We also wanted to do an excursion, however they were able to find a car to rent for us so probably a good idea to book your own. Toiletries are not replaced everyday so be prepared to buy your own or ask every day. Having said this, the views are fabulous!

The unique winding intricate 100 plus steps of this hotel is what enticed me to book this hotel . The view from all the windows are amazing. Sitting at balcony watching the sunset , all kinds of cruise ship , yatchs , catamaran in Amoudi bay is very convenient and pleasant thing to do .

Views were incredible. Right in the heart of everything and a private sunset viewing spot. Staff were excellent (except not very flexible with breakfast times and gave us a hard time about packing a breakfast five minutes early so that we could make an excursion). Staying in a “cave” for a couple of days was a great experience.

The view of the sunset from this hotel is excellent and it is located in a quiet area. As for our stay, for a 4-star property, with good online reviews - we were incredibly disappointed. The staff is "friendly and helpful" on the surface, but very pushy. I asked them to make a reservation at an external restaurant for 5pm, they insisted on 5:30pm - not because the restaurant was booked - but because they thought it was better... I requested corn flakes for breakfast (a listed option), they insisted on granola... Everything we asked for, we were met with resistance for no reason and it was so odd... (another couple we met had this exact same experience). Our room had NO hot water, no matter what time of day... (the other couple also experienced this and told the staff and they insisted they were wrong). Next, breakfast is included, but there was a 20 euro charge to deliver it to your room, which we were not informed of until the food was delivered (note that the first hotel we stayed at in Santorini also delivered breakfast to your room, free of charge). At Esparas, the kitchen was 10 steps away from our room and yet somehow, the food was completely cold. We decided to just eat it in the restaurant the next 2 days - the breakfast was also freezing cold the next 2 days (another 2 couples we met there had the same experience as us). The onsite "fine dining" restaurant is awful - the worst meal we ate on our entire almost 3 week honeymoon. Overall, worst hotel experience.

We love this property and it is close to all Oia major attractions. We can view sunset from our room without dealing with all the crowds. The staff are friendly. The only thing we were a little annoyed was the check in process. You have to select breakfast options when you checking in. we were a bit tired from travelling at that time.

This hotel spoiled us! My husband and I had the best experience at the Esperas Santorini. We booked the Honeymoon Suite with a plunge pool - BEST SUNSET VIEW IN OIA! The room was absolutely perfect and the hotel staff was so kind. Stella at reception was so sweet and accomodating, we looked forward to seeing her! Also the food was just spectacular. Some of the best we had in Oia. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. If you're celebrating a special occasion or just want the best caldera/sunset views, I highly recommend booking at Esperas!

Secluded and the best sunsets in the world!

Excellent hotel perfectly located in Oia, slightly away from the crowds of tourists. This is a small, unique hotel that was one of the first to be developed after Oia became a popular destination. Lovely pool and restaurant. Transfer was very easy and well organized.

Great location for sunset and shopping. Gets a bit crowded on this side of the island at sunset.

Excellent location for a visit to see the famous Oia sunset. Generous breakfast and very good restaurant for dinner with very professional and polite staff. Our suite was spacious and had a lovely balcony from which we could watch the sunset. If there was anything I would suggest for improvement, it would be to improve the ventilation / scent in the rooms and to make the reception experience more personal & attentive / less commercial. But these should not detract from the overall positive stay we had at this hotel. Thank you for the lovely stay.

Amazing pool and pool area overlooking the stunning caldera and Amoundi Marina. I could watch the boats coming and going for days. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast, although you have to preorder the day before.

Wonderful views, wonderful staff. But be advised you must be physically able to hike. I am not exaggerating. The resort is perched on a cliff, no elevators and the walk down to the reception area is no joke. I don’t know how they could make this accessible to someone with a disability.

The staff was very helpful and the views are beautiful. Yes, you need to be ready for steps and being active to get around this property but the location is fantastic. If you have mobility restrictions this may not be for you. Absolutely take advantage of the breakfasts and restaurant for dinner. The dinner was one of the best meals we had in Greece.
