Clean on comfortable

The bed was extremely hard and there we badly repaired walls where someone had put holes in them.

I walked into the room and saw cockroaches, eatwig skins, flies and boreholes that were patched and painted over, they wouldn't mive me or refund me because i used 3rd party site. I left immediately. Not happy. So they can literally put u in a dumpster and u cant do anything because of booking through 3rd party?

Quick easy check inn. Clean room. Perfect for a stay over night.

It served the purpose. Rooms are small and clean. Bed was comfortable. No hair dryer and no coffee maker in room.

This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel and I have to say it was cleaner and still a comfortable place to stay. The breakfast was nothing special but a nice option. We will possibly stay here again.

It was an old fashioned motel , no frills and I like it but it could use just some remodeling. It was very clean and I liked that it was quite compact and I could park right in front of my room. It woukd have nice if the motel itself had its own breakfast bar instead of having to walk next door. It was a great short getaway and well priced.

Good evening , the property is connected to another property next to it , very out dated and dirty , tight fitted ! This property is worn out ! You should get your common sense together and not be associated with this property ! I would NOT recommend this property to anyone !! Very over priced !!

Nice place. Originally thought it was in the beach side of the street so we were disappointed we didn't have access to the Lake. Room was clean and comfortable.

If you like a typical ‘70s style motor lodge this is for you. Room was clean and comfortable. Microwave and refrigerator were clean. We checked in at 430pm and the floor was still quite wet from cleaning crew. It was very humid that day but the floor was still too wet. Other than that the staff was very friendly

It could really do some updates. The bathroom had bugs on the ceiling. Never had anyone clean our room, and give us fresh towels. The pool area was nice but it was nextdoor. It's was quite, and we felt save there.

We needed a place to stay in the area and the options were limited. It was fine and what I expected - nothing impressive, but I’d stay again if I needed to for a night.

Had a fire pit next to pavilion. Grill availability. Grounds keep came by to help us light our fire and brought starting sticks and starting fluid and extra logs. Access to pool, hot tub. Breakfast too. Will return. Pet friendly

Place was clean, the bed was comfortable. I would definitely recommend.

Idealic setting on the shores of Lake Huron. Classic old school roadside Inn. I recommend.

Nice Motel

Very nice motel at a very reasonable rate. Room paws recently remodeled, bed was good, room was very clean. There were previous complaints about bugs. Yes there are flies but if you keep your door open you will get them! That is not the fault of the motel. I left the door open so I got a couple of flies. Different bugs in different seasons. Overall a good stay for the rates.

Smalll outdated motel and over priced

They could get fluffier pillows, but the bed was comfortable. It had a fridge, plenty of outlets for plug-ins. Can swim and use the hot tub and breakfast next door. Overall, very nice.

Well kept property, clean rooms, nice staff. Would have been nice to have a coffee maker instead of having to walk over to the Bay Inn next door. Bathtub didn't have a plug or stopper to take a bath which my wife loves to do. Only a shower. Would stay there again.

Motel was easy to find. Room was small but was clean and ok for our stay.

It's ok for what it is. Generally the cheapest option in Tawas which isn't really that cheap due to the limited competition in northern MI. Loud AC, WIFI doesn't work well (assuming due to the router being too far away), rooms have that faint smell of smoke--where someone smoked and they tried to clean and cover up the smell. All that said- they do seem to be recently remodeled. The staff was ok and they do try. They have a decent continental type breakfast with hb eggs, cereal, waffles,juices, coffee, toast, oatmeal, bagels. It is what it is-some would never stay in a place like this. For me, it's ok.

The property was ok. Felt like we werr being watched the whole time we were there.

The rooms were pretty small, and the toilet was at best a foot off the ground. If ya got bad knees you will have a hard time getting on and off of these toilets. Other than those two issues it was a nice quiet place to stay.

Bare Bones

Bare bones, very small room, and expensive. They were sold out so I guess that is the going rate. It was clean. Bed was so so.

The person who checked us in long haired ponytail was the rudest person we've ever encountered. While checking in I went to hand him my ID and credit card he just looked me and said what do I need are you checking in. I said yes. He said down here and I dont need your cards, then proceeded to ask for all my information that I was handing him. After he gets all the info in he says wait for the prompt then hit summit. I waited a minute or so as it says confirm but in dark gray im thinking its going to turn green then hit the button. He gets mad because I didn't hit the button. So as starts explaining how breakfast in the morning works I start walking away and he calls me an a hole. Needless to say after talking to other's that were staying there he treated everyone like we were a burden. Horrible Horrible customer service.

Room was clean and neat. Had a fridge and microwave, which was very nice to have available. I would definitely stay at Crow's Nest again.

This is a very old motel. Needs updating. No hair dryers in the room. Will not return.

We had problems staying connected to the wi-fi; my computer kept disconnecting every few minutes and my wife couldn’t connect her computer at all and neither of our IPhones would either. Also the king size bed was too big for the room.

A very tired facility that obviously is used as an annex to what appears to be a slightly upscale propert literally next door.

It was perfect for us with the dog. We were right across street from lake Huron and beaches.

Ask questions first!!

It is affiliated with Bays Inn which is next door. Your free breakfast and your pool usage are at the Bay Inn. So you will travel back and forth for these. There is no in room coffee. It too is at Bays Inn. Our room was clean. It smelled fresh. It was very small.

i was to check in at 12pm and the staff wasnt not prepared to have room ready and was not that busy with guest they could have given me another room for there delay.. also rge property did not contact me the the room will be late for check in .. I was new to twas and left alone with no where to go for several hours

From a confusing check-in with an individual who acted like an adversary, to an outrageous dog fee and cold, very poor breakfast all the while a hostile atmosphere, I will never stay there again!

A quant old time highway motel. Well cared for, clean, ok service. Not worth the expensive rates I was charged though.

Clean, quiet little motel. Room pleasant, nothing spectacular— although it had the first working freezer I’ve had in any room in memory! Surely wasn’t worth the exorbitant, inflated summer resort rate I paid for it, but it wasn’t as if I had a choice.

felt ripped off. Hasn't been updated in 50 Years. Old wood painted toilet seat was warn threw to wood. Lots of ants and spiders. First nights room smelled like mold. This was a $40.00 room all day. Old Old amenities.

Everything in ROOM WAS filthy. So much build up on floor it turned our socks BLACK!!!!!! And people talking outside our room until 1:00am in morning.

We rented the "Suite" because we planned our trip on short notice. It was a decent sized room with a jetted tub, but not what anyonewould concider a suite. The bed was horribly hard and uncomfortable. The entry door was a hollow interior door that could have easily been kicked in by a toddler. Overall, the property was run down and outdated. We have stayed a few times at the hotel next door which is owned by the same people and the rooms were nuch nicer. When I walked to this hotel in the morning to get some coffee, there were 3 employees standing there smoking within a foot or two from the entry way. Not very professional.

First no A/C, then no power..

A/C in room didn’t work. There was a 1/4 roll of toilet paper left on the thing instead of a new roll... lost power and apparently they don’t have a generator. Room was dingy and dirty. The first time I stayed there it was decent, last couple times have been gradually worse and we will not be back.

I liked that the bathrooms were private. I didn't like that the power went out early in the morning but that wasn't the motel's fault.

Clean and Reliable

Just a nice, clean, no frills place to stay. I bring my dog and it’s always reliably comfortable with a kind staff. I like that the flooring is wood laminate instead of carpet for cleanliness. Will continue to stay here when in the are.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Like a lot of old motels this one needed some updating.The bed was comfortable and there was hot water with good pressure. The Wi Fi worked good. The owner of the Crows Nest also owns the Bay Inn next door so you check in there and have use of the pool and the breakfast which was nice. Overall my stay worked out. Although the next time I stay in Tawas I`ll pay the extra and stay at the Bay Inn next door.

Nostalgic but tip top shape, use of pool next door included, and breakfast much better deal in a crowded room season market

Nice quaint old motel across from the water. Clean, comfortable room. We went to the beach at the state park up the road and visited the shops on Neuman Street in East Tawas. Nice one day get away.
