Friendly and helpful staff, clean and quiet room. I plan to stay at Citadenes every trip I take to Lyon.
Great location by train station.
Great location by the train station. Large and clean room and good breakfast each morning.
Very well located and helpful staff.
Friendly, pleasant and helpful staff. Good location, close to restaurants, cafes and grocery stores Room was well appointed. Excellent value.
No AC. No plug in bedroom to plug in fan provided.
Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Easy access to washing and drying facilities were brilliant.
If you lower your expectations you will be fine. This is serviceable living, but no frills — no character, not a single picture on any wall, limited and generic furniture, no headboard, basically a box. Hallways like a dormitory.
We only stayed here for one night in a suite, but the room was very nice and included a kitchenette complete with washing machine. I would stay here again and hopefully see more of the city and surrounding area. Staff was very helpful and spoke sone English.
Dirty and Noise.
Very good location. Very friendly reception. Good breakfast. Broken dish washer cart wheel. Very dirty curtains. 2 times fake fire alarm out. 1 morning cold water shower.
Muy buena ubicación. Sin embargo creo que se puede hacer un mejor esfuerzo en el servicio y en la limpieza.
Not exactly the best as property was full for the night that we were there. Given a room that was same level as the reception and had a stale/ musty smell. Error on our part also as we fail to notice that room was not air conditioned and was only equipped with a desk fan. Food rubbish under the sink from previous stay was not cleared.
Not as advertised
Not as pictured. Quite run down and dirty, No air conditioning and only one electric fan for a one bedroom suite. Very hot. After contacting hotels.com to try and cancel our stay (conditions were so poor), the hotel offered another room with air conditioning for 30 euros per night. Funny they did not offer that directly to us when we gave feedback to the desk. The upgraded room was much better. But overall, would not recommend as whole property quite dirty and run down compared to the photos online - not as it appears. Would not stay again.
Overpriced and not for a family
Staff we friendly and professional and the property is in a decent location. However its very noisy. The apartment we had needed maintenance desperately. Bedroom window didnt seal properly and only 1 out of 4 heaters worked .there also seems to be no ac and would be unbearable on a hot summers day. The bed was also unbelievably hard and very uncomfortable
The room is basic, sounds isolation is not so good, can hear the noise from the street, next door neighbor, and outside corridor, cleanliness level can be better, like clean out the dust between the fridge and cabinet, breakfast is very basic
All good!!!
Everything about our stay was fine. The personnel was very friendly and helpful. We loved the apartment we stayed and the location of the hotel was perfect.
Отличный отель за разумные деньги
The Citadines was functional and breakfast quite basic but the staff were quite friendly on check in.
Limited front service
I checked out on Sunday morning, but the person at front desk arrived after 7. It was okay for me, but if I wish to checkout earlier, that would be a problem. And no air conditioning at Lyon in summer time is a little bit uncomfortavble.
Everything was great. Staff very helpful with our stay.
meeting family
Very enjoyable
France trip.
First arrived, I have been given studio room without air conditioning and the room was really smelly badly. The front desk told me was full that night and will changed me the next day. The next day front desk has been really helpful and I have been given studio room with air conditioning. Shame this property is very dirty and let people take pets , dogs and dogs pee in the lift most everytime make very disgusting!!! Overall, very much disappointed to be stay at Ascot group hotel!!!
Convenient place, near Part Dieu station, no air conditioned made experience a bit sultry specially with the heat wave in Europe.
Good location if you interested in nice foods
It was a comfortable stay, compared with hotels it was spacious.
Kind of disappointed. They gave me the first floor room next to the park. People played basket ball until after midnight. Couldn’t sleep because of the noise and I had to catch an early train in the morning :( didn’t get enough sleep.
It was nice stay. they gave me a room next to the elevator, and it was so noise. Except that, the room was clean and the condition was good.
The room was tiny and had no air conditioning. We had to leave the one small window open all night for fresh air which meant listening to the garbage trucks. The toilet opened into the kitchen. The room looked nothing like the online photo.
Washer dryer worked well and round the clock coffee at reception excellent
Not suitable for aging clients could not access the room with steps
Good location walking distance to station & Rhône. Unfortunately the room smelt of stale smoke despite no smoking signs.
Good, fairly quiet location, compact but comfortable, good reception crew, simple but effective breakfast arrangement. Stayed a few more days and would happily return if the occasion arose.
My room was spacious and nice. I found that the insonorisation was poor though. The breakfast room staff was genuinely friendly and helpful.
An excellently located little studio. Just enough space for 2 for a few days, near lots of restaurants and shops and an easy walk or bus/tram/metro to the sights of old Lyon. Tea and coffee are not supplied within the room so worth bringing along to save on food waste or paying for breakfast downstairs in the morning. We enjoyed the convenience of being able to cook but the support of a front desk and on hand staff team who were friendly and helpful.
Good Foodie Weekend Away
Spacious room, adequate kitchen facilities for our 3 night stay. Complimentary drinks in the breakfast area (at non breakfast time) were an unexpected bonus when we returned at night. Tram and metro stops were 3/4 minutes from hotel.
The hotel was in a good location close to the train station and within walking distance of Old Lyon, but for a cheaper price. I enjoyed having the option of a kitchen so I could cook meals as I desired. The room was nice enough, but on closer examination showed signs of disrepair (peeling paint, cracked and yellowed light fixtures, grime around the shower, hole in the middle of the comforter, etc.) but still a comfortable enough place to stay.
The property is well located in a safe area. It was clean and quiet. The staff were very helpful.
Really liked the room and amenities, we would have loved a tea or coffee pod though, it would have made the difference. Having said that the surrounding businesses were fantastic sources of delicious food. Great laundry, best driers ever.
Good location
Apartment was perfect for our visit to Lyon. Bed was comfortable and that is what mattered. Close to restaurants and shopping so easy to get around and make the most of our stay.
Great location in the city, sparkling clean, friendly and efficient staff, les Citadines was a great place to stay in Lyon.
A Good Apartment Hotel
This is a reasonable apartment hotel near Part Dieu Train Station. Les Halles de Lyon Paul Boscuse is just one block away, and there are a few other grocery stores nearby. It is easy to get whatever you want and prepare meals. The only drawback is the lack of air conditioning. I stayed at the end of August, but even when the outside tempreture went down to about 17 or 18 degrees centigrade, the building itself had been warmed up, and inside the hotel room, I felt like it was about 26 or 27 degrees. I had open the widow for several hours before the room temperature to go down. I may come back to this hotel for the future, but I will avoid the summer months.
Comfortable room, great location
The stay was perfect. The room is spacious, the bed(s) very comfortable and the room was clean. We were at first concerned by the lack of air conditionning in the room as it was Summertime, but the fan did the trick! It even had a night mode which kept us cool whilst being quiet.
the necessary to sleep a few nights, in proximity to the station
Wonderful little apartment type room. Laundrette available to use, the machines were quite small for the price but very convenient.
Disappointed! I used their shuttle to get an adaptor for my computer charger from the airport because I was staying there and had to wait for 2 hours for their shuttle. I even began to doubt the location despite the pictures the depict the pickup location and had to take pictures of the platform. When I call the hotel, the speaker was rude and insisted that I was on the wrong platform. Even a British couple that was coming to the same hotel told them their themselves had been waiting for 40mins and they even ended up taking a taxi. To add to my disappointment, the only thing the driver care about was to ask me for the booking details. I told him he had not been around. The staff clearly have the ability to conceal. For one of them to be insisting that the shuttle has been there in the past 2 hours is really disappointing. I had to incur extra charges to call them and receptionist will not even let me explain myself. Despite the fact that I was the one incurring the cost from calling from my phone whilst I am aboard. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. I had to request a private discussion with the driver when I alight to ask why he wanted to see my booking but will not ask the others for theirs. He said he makes random checks when he feels like it. I could only wonder what his criteria is.
Well furnished apartment with everything a traveler could need
Well appointed apartment efficiently set up. Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms. Quiet neighborhood with anything you need near by. Excellent customer service as our train was cancelled and the front desk was extremely helpful in helping us adjust our plans. Highly recommended.
It was convenient to shops, transportation & restaurants. I was happy with the safety of the neighborhood. Staff helpful. I didn't care for the new telephone system they have, inconvenient for me.
Arriving we got clearly instructions to the parking, and we were very welcomed. But that was it. Nobody else greeted us for the entire staying. We thought it was going to be a queen size bed, but it was two twins apart. Sad for a married couple. In the bathroom it was a electrical noise that wouldn't stop, extremely annoying. The location was good. I wouldn't recommend!
Small but good location
Room was compact but had everything we needed. Good location, only short walk from train & 10 minute walk from city centre
Convenience Location
Hotel is located near everything around like train station, big mall etc... Hotel staffs are nice & so helpfull.
Pleasant and good value
It is a pleasant hotel and good value for a family. Staff are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.
This is a great hotel that is currently being renovated so be patient. I really liked the staff and the room itself was great. I wish there were more ammenties though to make the hotel feel unique. It is a bit of a central location with lots of restaurants and cute stores to check out. Also close to the mall. I wish though check on time was a bit earlier as my husband and I were coming in from an early morning flight and it would have made a difference if we could have napped a bit earlier in the day. Overall good place.
Nice budget hotel in a quiet neighbourhood.
Hotel is located near a big shopping mall and an indoor food market. Walking distance to Old Lyon and main shopping district. It may be too warm in summer months as hotel rooms are with no air-conditioner. Other than that, I would love to stay again for my next visit.
Great hotel
Close to Trams, very helpful staff, full kitchen and laundry. This hotel has considered the traveler who is away from home for weeks.
Great place and location
Wonderful room great price. Across the street from hall de Lyon, food and wine galore! Walking distance to all the sights. Good restaurants close by. Would definitely stay here again.
Handy to railway station & tram to airport. Also close to local tram to get to main attractions of Old City & rivers. Useful to have an apartment to be able to eat in if we chose. Lack of AC made it warm - too noisy to leave window open.
Good location, correct amenities
This is a great location (not far from Lyon part dieu railways station, excellent restaurants around, rental bike station in front of the hotel). According to North American standards, rooms are tiny but okay. The optional €10 breakfast is good (but the bakery around the corner provides a pastry with tea or coffee for €2.50).
1st visit to Lyon.
Nice hotel with shops / plenty of restaurants close by. Public transport also very close. 20 minute walk into town with small folk so ideal! Beside a shopping mall also ..would recommend this hotel and go back again!
Good value for money in the business district
A chain of Apart Hotels this one is located close to the TGV/Eurostar station and about a 20 minute walk to the main tourist area. We had no problem with the walking in to town but other tourists may find this a problem. We had a 3 person apartment which was big enough for us. Although we only used the kitchen area for breakfast those staying longer may choose to eat in to save money. The bathroom was clean and of a reasonable size but the toilet was poky to say the least. The staff were friendly and helpful and although we did bot take the buffet breakfast I had in a previous stay there and found it to be good.
Nice place but no air con Like many places in Lyon
great location, everything I needed within walking distance. Lovely helpful staff and lovely room.
Nice room & great value.
Clean & quiet room on side street near restaurants & train. Great unless you need more stars & amenities. I would not hesitate stay here again!
Not sure I would recommend it, but forced to a Y/N decision. Good: - helpful staff; - clean; - good kitchen facilities; and - the shower room was (oddly) homely. Cons: - difficult to find on maps around town or at the train stn (Gare Part Dieu); - not much of a view, BUT a really convenient location (once you've found it, of course!); and - thin walls...
Comfortable and convenient
The hotel was very convenient to the tram and metro system that we used.
Great for family of 4!
We had the duplex apartment. Great for a family with two children. Ample space upstairs as the bedroom. Heating in all areas which was great for the colder months. However if you intend on parking a car at their car park, as you would know it's very narrow and tight to get down and back up to street level.
Nice area
I have a good time to get around it close to the tram the station every thing is around
Convenient and clean
First night no hot water, no wifi in the room and twin beds where I asked for a double bed Room was changed the second night and was satisfactory Wifi coverage needs improvement
Reneged on deal
They reneged on my booking, forcing me to agree to new terms & conditions. They had failed to mention a "city tax" until I arrived, including it as an extra fee.
Nice hotel to stay,20 mins walk to both Part Diue station and Carrefour,it is a great help that hotel provided city map, staffs are friendly and helpful, and we had stayed 4 nites there.
good location and value for money
was great room good size plus kitchen area shower and toilet
It's not a hotel but a apart-hotel. No air conditioning, impossible sleep in the summer!!!
Nice hotel , Nice staff
Good check in even when out of hours, good room facilities and please tell staff. Breakfast dos not offer much variety but it is good .
Impossible to sleep: no air conditioner during sum
Be aware in summer over 30 degrees and the hotel doesn't have air conditioner. Hotel conditions are ok! Nothing especial!
OK place, nothing outstanding
nice staff, decent check-in, reasonable walk from train station
Good location to explore city in business district
Super facilities in pristine condition enabling me to cook / stay in or go out. Pleasant sitting area to relax. Good bathroom & toilet: everything scrupulously clean. Helpful staff & lovely breakfast area with plentiful choice & great quality coffee to begin the day. Plentiful leaflets explaining tourist choices.
Central, clean and value for money
Perfect hotel for a short family stay, centrally located, reception could be better, breakfast however is overpriced, plenty of authentic French Boulangeries in the neighbourhood for a better and traditional breakfast
It's awesome with little kitchen. But my room was on the 2nd floor, and super poor wi-fi service. I had to stay in lobby for wifi..and no air conditioner.
The hotel was nice. The only problem was that the rooms weren't air conditioned. However, the hotel staff was happy to accomodate me with a mini AC. Overall, it's a great hotel in a good area.
Inexpensive apartment hotel close to public transp
Really enjoyed food and museums in Lyon Hotel had reasonable breakfast and was cool enough despite no air conditioning Could have done with extra pillows
The hotel DOES NOT disclaim that they do not have AC! we booked 3 rooms and when we got there we were shocked to find out they don't have ACs in the rooms! Some of the staff were nice others were really rude. Breakfast doesn't start until late and they charge you 10 euros for bread and coffee. Will not stay there ever again.
Great location - long wait to check in
Check in with Hotels.com is immediate, but we arrived late by train from Lyon, and had to wait for ages while the receptionist dealt with a customer with a troublesome booking. I was travelling with my 14 year old son and we were very tired - and Ireland had just lost! We weren't acknowledged. If he had looked up our details, given us the key, then we could have gone to bed and he could have spent the rest of the night debating with the other man if he wanted.
Clean & efficient
Well equipped, clean, safe, convenient to main train station. Good choice for quick stopover or business. Lacking charm if you're here as a tourist, but everything is as described so you can decide for yourself...
Very comfortable stay
I booked a room with Citadines because I needed a place to stay in Lyon at the last minute. I was surprised to discover that it was part hotel and part residence. The suite was very clean and spacious. It also included a small kitchen that came with equipment such as pots, pans, plates, utensils, dish soap, etc. Because of this, I decided to go grocery shopping and cook my own dinner that night... kind of made me feel like a local!
Don't miss visiting Les Halles de Paul Bocuse!
hotel was very comfortable but it really needed air conditioning as it was very stuffy at night even with the window open. I imagine it would be suffocating in the summer months. We were there in early June. But the room was well furnished including a kitchenette. Best thing about its location was that Les Halles de Paul Bocuse was nearby. We h
Do not bother with this place
We had a confirm from you on 3rd December 2015 for 2 single beds in each room. We were given a sofa bed in each room. Very uncomfortable, too close together & for around 70 year old gentlemen this was not acceptable. Could not change rooms. You did not advise at the time of booking that there was a €25 per day per room servicing charge for the room. The shower head would not stay in its rocker & had to be held. Wifi did not work well & was tricky to get into
Good for the price. Disappointing breakfast.
I was there for two nights for a work trip. The hotel was convenient as it was close to the train station, and metro and tram stops, so travelling about the city was easy. The room was nice and clean, and even had a small kitchen area I wasn't expecting. I didn't realise when I booked that this is an "ApartHotel" rather than a normal hotel, so the rooms are like small apartments. The kitchen area had a fridge, a microwave, a small hob and even a tiny dishwasher. If I'd known, I would've bought some breakfast items from the supermarket on the corner. The breakfast supplied by the hotel was somewhat disappointing. The range was limited and the space available was quite small, perhaps because they expect people to use the kitchen in their rooms. Be aware that the reception closes at 10pm. This is not a problem when staying there, as they give you a code to let yourself in the front doors, but it would be a problem if you arrived very late and needed to check in.
More like a studio apartment
It had a fully stocked kitchen (and a grocery store down the road), comfy bed, beautiful entrance and warm staff. About 500m from the subway entrance that takes you anywhere!
An overnight stay
I stayed just one night in Lyon with my son & am delighted to say the Citadines Part-Dieu provided excellent accomodation at a reasonable price. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming.
Perfect for our needs
Really please with apart-hotel, it was midway between Lyon Part Dieu station and the city centre - could not fault it.
Great value, amenities & short walk to old Lyon.
The Citadines is spacious by comparison to most hotels rooms we stayed in during our 3 week in France and for the cost is probably the best deal we encountered. From the cleanliness, comfortable bed and convenient kitchenette we would definitely stay here again. Old Lyon is only a short 20 minute walk from the hotel which offers underground parking although for an extra 15 euro per night still making it affordable. The only drawback was that upon our arrival, in order to drive up to the front entrance of the hotel you have to ignore a do not enter sign on the short access street. The front desk staff confirmed that this was not a problem. Would definitely stay here agian.
Good base point
Good base point for the train station & eplorixing the City on foot. Not in the centre but a 15 minute walk to the river. Good sized room with mezzanine floor made the room feel really spacious. Light for mirrors not great!
Great place close to Lyon Part Dieu station -
easy to get to - good transport links (metro, bus, tram) and also good restaurants near at hand. Supermarket and boulangerie next door for breakfast things and Les Halles de Paul Bocuse over the road for more elaborate dinner in!
good apartment in resident distrcit
We stayed at the apartment 3 nights. The apartment located in resident district, so it really good for sleep and rest in silent night. Good location, 10 minutes walk to Lyon Part Dieu Train Station, 8 minutes to Lafayette shopping mall and Carrefour market, 4 minutes walk to Paul food hall, 3 minutes to a small supermarket and 2 minutes to tram station. And 1 minute walk to bike rental, it is a great experience to ride in Lyon city. The room is clean, tidy and bright. Nice bed, well equipped kitchen, good bathroom and large living room. Overall, the apartment is really nice and valuable for stay.
Great for tourists
The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the Part Dieu train station and has great access to the metro. There are good restaurants in the area. Very helpful staff.
The hotel was okay and close to public transportation. The room was clean and had kitchen, fridge and stove which was great. The bed wasnt comfortable.
Excellent location
Bien, the location of this apart-hotel is really excellent, we were close to all our needs. the easy of doing the shopping was incomparable with many other location. the access to public transportation was of major importance in all the aspects. the main train station, Part-Dieu, is right there, which made so easy to jump in a train and visit the nearby countries. I like it very much.
Hotel was a bit run down. There is no air conditioning or comfort cooling so rooms were hot and stuffy. Although desk fans were provided. Nice crepe shop nearby.
Relaxing
Quite neighbourhood. 10 minute walk to large shopping centre, tram or metro. 15 min to railway station. Roomy space, fridge and stove top all working in good order. No air conditioning but you could open the window. Reception was helpful, wifi was fast. Overall we where very happy with our stay.
Practical Lyon pied-a-terre
Spotlessly clean, well equipped room including kitchen facilities within the room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet in the little restaurant area was really nice. The hotel is conveniently close to Lyon Part Dieu if you are arriving on a TGV/Eurostar train - but sufficiently distant from the station to make you feel that you're actually in the city rather than in a transient location. Being off the main road meant that the hotel was reasonably quiet.
don't like sofa bed
wished I picked a different hotel
Citadines Part-Dieu Lyon | Hotel in Lyon | Travala.com
Bathroom had bad and don't know where it came from. Also, I see so many mold in bath area. No one do the cleaning service during my two days stay.
