Value for money

Had an absolutely amazing stay at Cinnamon Red. Easy check-in, very kind staff, clean rooms (particular shout out to attentive housekeeping staff, always providing more water and asking if anything was need). The room had a great city view, comfy bed and spacious shower. Dinner buffet was quite pricey for Colombo but it was amazing too, a lot of variety. Highly recommend!

This is my third time staying at Cinnamon Red on a trip to Sri Lanka. Really conveniently located to offices, shopping, entertainment. Staff is extremely attentive and helpful. Breakfast buffet is fantastic. If you are there, don’t forget to try the local favorites hoppers, string hoppers and Kiribati. Definitely will stay there on my next trip.

Amazing large room. The pool was a highlight of my vacation.

Our stay was very pleasant. It was a short day, but the brunch was awesome and it was convenient because everywhere we were able to walk to.

This hotel was in a great area. Everyone who works there was wonderful, the breakfast buffet was quite nice, the views from the roof were amazing and the room was as I had anticipated from the photos.

For a mid range hotel it is fine. We had a lovely big room even though the hotel is quite dated. Unfortunately there sss in our floor (Floor 10) a very strong mould smell from the air con. Great pool and beautiful staff. It is not really stylish but it was clean with great service.

One night stay in Colombo before flight

Stay itself was great and for leisure travelers is perfect for mid tier hotels. Infinity pool and incredibly comfortable room. Personally i thought the breakfast and gym was poor, however i had come from the Hilton so in fairness for half the price this plsce is probably better value for a normal person. Plus a normal person would appreciate bscon and eggs moresk than myself. Do recommend hotel for those wanting a luxury room at a great price, personally i wouldn’t stay again unless i planned in advance to avoid the breakfast and not go to the gym

Absolutely fantastic stay at the Cinnamon Red, the staff couldn’t do enough for us and we felt so welcome. The pool is lovely and we really enjoyed our cocktails during happy hour! The room was generously sized with an extremely comfortable bed. I would recommend the Cinnamon Red to anyone travelling to Colombo!

Functional business hotel. No real bell boy but they will bring luggage up. Very friendly staff. Value for money for a business hotel. Have stayed here many times.

Very convenient to center city

Staff are not friendly and not helpful at all. Food is extremely over priced at the hotel and average quality.

Very friendly and professional staff, attentive and respectful. It was my birthday and they sent cup cakes upto our room, a lovely touch. Breakfast was fantastic Bedroom was stunning, Overlooking the sea. Clean and with a very comfortable bed. Thankyou Cinnamon Red, we'll be back.😁

Cinnamon Red has great facilities such as the infinity pool, gym and bars. The infinity pool is relaxing with great views of the city. The rooms are a spacious and there are a number of dinning options available.

Good rooftop bar and pool, good service from the staff, good location and great value for the price.

One week stay

Last minute family trip and chose Cinnamon Red. Family member had to work remotely and good wifi connection throughout the hotel. Room was clean and comfortable. Good location in that transport readily available, supermarket nearby and bar and coffee shops nearby. Would recommend Cinnamon Red.

This property didn’t provide room upgrade twice now. I’ve stayed here more than 7 times over the past 3 years and the service and the overall product has been consistently average

Its a nice & clean place. Great view too. The one thing I did not like was that they asked for more money after I paid Expedia.

Misled on booking change

I am a senior and checked in after a 22 hour travel day at about 0200. Discovered the reservation was for three days and I could only use two days as flying out before third night. They stonewalled me on deleting the third day saying I had to go through their staff to get a change. I did not realize as I had not paid I could have just refused to pay for the last day. But too tired to fight them and signed for the whole thing. Do not expect to ever get a refund for last unused day.

A good location, close to food options and Liberty Plaza if you want to some tea, or other items. The hotel is well presented and it has a great pool. It's a well run place. I think the hotel food could improve. I had a cold club sandwich with Luke warm chips. The breakfast buffet is fine but not outstanding.

Hotel conveniently located close to all the major city attractions (Lotus Tower, Port City, etc). Room was very clean and safe. The hotel staff were polite and accomodating. I would recommend.

Excellent experience in a very good hotel. Safe, clean and with a very well appointed room. Everything worked. Housekeeping was exceptional. All the staff were keen to help, were always polite and efficient and friendly. The pool area very nice with amazing views but there wasn’t any shade! The gym facilities were very good and the area was supervised I would highly recommend the Cinnamon Red Hotel and would stay again in a second.

Good position great roof top pool and bar

The hotel is both very efficient and also friendly. It feels like a safe place to stay if you are a woman travelling alone too. The staff team are all incredibly attentive. I especially appreciated that the bottles of water in the room are glass, so no single use plastic. I wish other hotels would take this approach and would encourage the managers to explore more environmentally friendly policies. Thank you for making my stay so comfortable and welcoming.

I use the hotel to prep for a late night departure. The main thing was the cleanliness of the room, and the buffet, which was well worth the approximately 5,000 rupees.

We arrived at the hotel around 4.00 pm but room was not ready, check in time was 2.00 pm, we have to wait to get the room. They said sorry for that and to compensate offered us compliment drink (coffee). Besides, everything was okay.

We stayed here for the last 6 days of our 5 weeks in Sri Lanka. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the rooftop infinity pool. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. We liked to go to the rooftop bar and have coffee and tea in the morning, which we either made in our room or picked up from the 7th floor. The bar opened in the afternoon and if we were in the hotel we often had a soda water with lime after swimming. We will recommend this hotel to our anyone travelling to Colombo

Most of the staff at the reception and other areas were trainees. My check-in process took around 15 minutes. Had a similar experience to just order a couple of items where I used the food and beverage discount. Both the room cards got deactivated within a day and had to wait in line again to get them activated

well located, clean , safe , great swimming pool, big various choice on the breakfast, will definitely stay again. a big thank you to Mr Dananjaya for looking after us on many occasions during our stay when we had issues utilising the tv, the iron or finding our way in the corridor, always here when we needed him, polite, discreet, always smiling, this gentleman has made our stay wonderful and safe!! thank you mister D!

This is an excellent business type hotek with a very good breakfast buffet. Conveniently located. Efficient no frills place with obliging staff. Modestly priced for a city hotel. Nice rooftop swimming pool overlooking the ocean. Nice rooftop bar overlooking the city

Nothing

The property is in a safe area. The breakfast is great. There is a roof top small gym, pool and bar. There are kept clean. The air is fresh and the snacks are reasonably priced at the bar. The dinner menu is simple and the pricing is reasonable. The rooms are clean but small and price was great in comparison to other hotels nearby. The staff are always trying make sure that we are comfortable and have all we need. There is free parking. It is safe to walk to the park, or to the Liberty circle and Galle road in the morning, haven’t tried in the nights.

Staff didn't understand what I wanted

Great stay

Great location. The room was clean with a beautiful views especially in the night. Minimum toiletries provided, fridge, bottle of water and a tea/coffee + tea kettle. The bed was comfortable, after walking all day it was a delight in the evening. We only had 2 pillows, so who likes sleeping a bit higher is not enough. I would like to have it at least 2 pillows per person. I would recommend to take a b-fat buffet as it costs $11 pp

A generally clean, nice and well-resourced hotel. However, we found our room to be much smaller than we thought it would be based on photographs on the hotel’s website. Also, the sofa bed was terrible - the worst we have ever been provided at hotel we have stayed at ever. It was essentially a mattress on the floor. We also had a constant issue with staff not providing us with the correct number of fresh towels in the morning - we would ask for three and they would always only provide two. (Should stress they were generally very helpful and friendly). On a positive note - the rooftop bar and swimming pool are amazing.

I stayed in the 25th floor and it smells dusty and humid smell in the whole floor. There were maintenance and it was creating a lot of discomfort.

There are better hotels at that price & lower

Overhyped hotel, overpriced, small rooms, triple bed means no space to walk and some odd placements. Like bathroom didn’t have latch!!!! Like Reception on 7th floor. So during checkout you need to visit multiple floors etc. the hotel is just running on a brand. Our other stay at Mandarina Hotel was far far better with bigger rooms, lesser price. Only good thing about Cinnamon Red was yummy breakfast buffet. There was a nice trainee (short height) staff .. name was Erawinge or something.. who had a big smile on her face and served fast. The tiny trainee at the reception had a big smile too. Sri Lankan people are generally nice, warm and smiling!

Amazing hotel, central located and great value for money

I was a guest here from 8/22-8/24, because I was spending a couple days in Colombo before leaving Sri Lanka. I received a call two hours before checkout, reminding me checkout is 12 noon. While this may seem a small issue, let me say I've traveled full time for the last 4 years and stay in hotels a couple hundred nights a year. I've never had a property do that. It's offensive and staff shouldn't be implying any pressure to leave. I value privacy greatly. That takes me to my bigger issue. I sent laundry out and it was returned in the evening. Fair enough. An hour later two staff members returned asking for payment. Why didn't your staff get a card on file at check in if it's that big a deal? Why are your staff bothering people in the room? I didn't have cash on me, I turned back into the room letting the door close behind me because I was in boxers and had to put clothes on to go downstairs and pay for the laundry. Your staff member stopped the door and pushed it open. Was your staff member trying to get a good look? Once again, this is a privacy issue. It's likely you have a charge back coming for not as described. These service issues are disgusting.

Nice roim with a beautiful view. Wish I could have used the veautiful pool on tge top floor, but I checked in late and out early. Coyld figure out the tv system but its ok. Would stay again. Nice breakfast buffet in the morning to start you day exploring Colombo.

Amazing Hotel!

Amazing service and the staff was beyond great. Such a warm welcome and accommodated every special request I had. Clean and very comfortable room with a fantastic view. Lahiruni at the front desk was very helpful and professional. Kudos to such a great team. Definitely will stay again.

The Red is a stylish hotel that is often at half the price of the grand. It does not have the shops, bars and restaurants of the grand but the roof bar is lovely and I won’t to be out in the town anyway. Great pool too

Excellent Business Hotel

This is the finest business hotel in the given price you can ask for in SL. Having stayed here for several times and will keep coming back. I just wished this time that the BF should have more new items each day instead of repeating them on and on , especially for VEG eaters. Cold Coffee which is usually there in all Hotels in BF is being missed every since... Over all excellent value for money you can get. The room view is amazing if you have city or ocean either of the views

Colombo from on High

Great place to stay and a great view of the city from most rooms given its 26 floors. It should be rated 4-5 stars given amenities and soundproofing. Food also superb.

Only spent one night at Cinnamon Red, but would have loved to stay longer. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff in all areas were very friendly and helpful. I especially enjoyed having a few beers and a snack at the roof top bar. Very chill with stunning views of Colombo on a warm evening

The breakfast was same for all 7 days so its a drawback of staying long in this property.

Amazing hotel for its price

I had to do a PCR test - so stayed for ceveral days in Colombo. I chose this hotel for its infinity pool, location and moderate price. The hotel is quite new, fresh.

excellent value for money in colombo

Great design and layout in the place, extremely convenient location in colombo for getting around to just about anywhere by tuk-tuk or car etc. we got an apartment on 22nd floor and really enjoyed the views. wifi was OK to do basic calls but not really fast and reliable enough for work travels if you need to upload or download things quickly.

Clean and comfy

Fantastic for the $65 or so per night it costs to stay here. The rooms are clean and well thought-out - wouldn't look out of place in a 4-star. The views are brilliant. The rooftop pool is so pleasant a spot that you may see less of Colombo than originally planned. The guest wifi is sluggish, but when I told reception I needed faster connection for a meeting they brought up a 4g router which did the trick. The staff is always helpful and on point. It would've been a flawless stay if my keycards weren't cancelled twice due to the system mistakenly believing there were bills to pay, but still, what a fantastic budget hotel this is.

The pool, scenery and overall cleanliness of the hotel along with the professionalism of their staff is highly commendable
