Great accommodation in a barn at the back of the pub. All the staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast fabulous and evening food in the Cherry Tree is excellent and probably the best we have had since CoVID lockdowns kicked off.
Weekend away😀
Visited Woodbridge for a weekend away. Hotel was excellent, clean, comfortable and very friendly staff. Close to all points of interest and easy walking distance to most attractions. Would be very happy to stay there again.
Definitely recommend
I would definitely recommend The Cherry Tree pub. From when we walked through the door to the moment we left, every member of staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious with a good shower. The tea, coffee, water and biscuits were very much appreciated. We ate both nights here and couldn't fault the food. The same with the breakfast, it was very tasty and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Staff were very welcoming. Food quality, quantity & choice was excellent, at breakfast especially. Accommodation was very good. Lots of extras are provided by this establishment. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
A great place to stay
What a fabulous place to stay. Accommodation was separate to main building. The staff were extremely helpful. Open fire was roaring when we got up for a first class breakfast. A little hidden gem in a beautiful village.
Great room on first floor of barn. Bed very soft but ok. Good food, lovely staff. Internet in pub and room not working as very poor signal. Being picky, some areas of bathroom paintwork could do with thorough clean or repaint...back of door and handle particularly. Would definitely use again. Superb breakfast.
Fabulous - highly recommend
Had a great stay in the Broadside room last night. Only issue is that the bed does need replacing - although fairly comfy to sleep on once settled, the mattress has lost all of its springiness and has no support, and makes a terrible racket when turning over in the night and has random springs boinging for no reason. The bed itself also creaks quite badly too. However…..if this gets sorted we will happily stay here again time after time. Every single other aspect of our stay was fantastic- wonderful hospitality, fabulous food, great location, clean, peaceful, huge bathroom, lots of facilities, warm, quiet, and just perfect. Breakfast was huge and tasty, with local ingredients, and our evening meal was just delicious - truly restaurant quality.
Highly recommend
Very attentive staff, extremely welcoming and friendly. They are a credit to the pub. Food is excellent, as is the beer. Pub has a relaxed and warm atmosphere. Accommodation is a great size, well laid out with some nice touches, pack of cards, local magazines etc. And plug sockets near the mirror, so ladies can see what they are doing when drying their hair. The only thing that let it down for us was the bed. Mattress is tired and didn’t offer much support. Other than that this is a fantastic place to stay and eat. Would highly recommend.
Excellent, having stayed here many times before. The Broadside room is spacious, with all the facilities as described in the spec. Well kept Adnams ales and good food. Excellent breakfasts. Friendly, helpful staff. Good value. Recommended!
The food in the restaurant was amazing and the room was modern and comfortable with a large bathroom. Good shower over the bath.
The Cherry Tree excels again and again!! The rooms, facilities and the food, service and hospitality of the whole situ is 5**.
Perfect
Perfect as always. The Broadside room is spacious, dog-friendly, and good WiFi. Excellent Adnams ales, food, and friendly service. Recommended!
Pleasant stay
Very nice large room.Good breakfast. Evening meal was excellent, very good choice and reasonable price.Friendly staff.
The staff was so friendly. The breakfast was amazing!
Arrived late and the host was pleasant and showed me to the room explained everything. Breakfast started at 09:00, I was travelling early the host offered to make me a pack up. I had a comfortable stay and would stay there again.
Very nice one night stay in Woodbridge
Very large comfortable room and great pub with good food and service. Room was heavily fragranced upon arrival so needed airing. Definitely recommend. The Tide Mill, river walk and Longboat area well worth visiting.
Good place for a short break
Awe stayed in a clean, spacious and comfortable room in a loft behind the pub. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the pub, served by friendly staff. We stayed here after our visit to Sutton Hoo.
Outside area could do with tidy up.
Lovely couple of days away!
We were away with friends. The Cherry Tree staff were warm and welcoming. The rooms were immaculately clean and a good size. In an ideal location for river walks and exploring some of the other local pubs! The food at The Cherry Tree was excellent! The only down side for me was, although a large bed I didn’t find it the mattress very comfortable.
Fantastic stay
We stayed in the Broadside room. It was excellent, very spacious with a large comfortable bed. Very clean with some lovely decor which made it feel very warm and comfortable. Bathroom is a good size with a bath and a good overhead shower. The breakfast on both mornings was delicious and the staff were very friendly. The pub is lovely with great food and beers. We have already booked to return later in the year.
Had a fabulous stay . Room clean warm & cozy. Although there was a Quiz night on in the pub - no noise at the end of the evening… Recommend highly
Very good, excellent food and lovely accommodation
Lovely room, fantastic food.
Welcoming and cosy inn
A warm and friendly welcome, spacious and comfortable room, and delicious food and drink. Will return!
Hard to fault!
The Broadside room is excellent, spacious, and clean. It's in a separate building near the back of the extensive, pleasant beer garden, and a sense of space. Dog friendly. Great pub interior, food, ale, and friendly staff. Recommended!
The Cherry Tree is the perfect spot to stay in Woodbridge. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with nice touches like a Nepresso machine. The location is perfect for the A12, the station, the Quay, and the centre of town. The pub itself was also really nice with a good menu, hearty meals, and friendly staff. The only downside was the mattress was very soft but that's personal preference.
A beautiful barn conversion. Friendly and helpful staff. And a great breakfast :)
Visit to Sutton Hoo
Our stay at the Cherry Tree was excellent, clean, friendly and easy going. We visited Sutton Hoo and the Cherry Tree was very handy and well situated. We loved the pub atmosphere and the food was lovely
Nice hotel with parking.
Nice hotel with comfortable barn conversion as room. Parking facility is helpfull and a restaurant on site handy as well. The only strange thing is that breakfast not served until 09.00 hrs. For working travellers that is simply too late. Offered a bacon butty as compromise was a nice gesture, but does not take away from the fact I booked a room with breakfast, but could only have the latter if I left it late.
Lovely pub and food
Lovely pub, really friendly staff. Only issue was breakfast did not start until 9am which for business visit is way too late. To be fair they did offer me a sandwich to takeaway
Short stay in Woodbridge
The accommodation and breakfast at the Cherry Tree was superb! Gigantic room and bathroom, very modern, clean and all the mod cons. From Nespresso machine to 40” TV , large bed, armchair and plenty of wardrobe and dresser space. Big working table and draws. The pub for evening meal was outstanding choice and quality. The breakfast in the morning was huge and gorgeous ! Will be back soon. Very close to town centre and walkable to mill and town centre in under 6 minutes steadystroll. A gem!
Great Stay - will be back
Booked this as a last minute night away at the seaside. Not knowing what to expect it was brilliant. We stayed in the top floor apartment in the grounds, .. All dog friendly so it was lovely having dinner and breakfast with the dog and the staff are absolutely lovely and could not help enough.
Superb room/stay
Absolutely flipping marvellous, great room lovely pub perfect nights sleep. AND THEY HAD NESPRESSO COFFEE ......win win, will definitely try to stay again
Lovely place to stay! Highly recommend!
The Phoenix rises
We have stayed at the Cherry Tree Inn on a previous occasion; not long after they had and were still recovering from a very serious fire in the Kitchen. However, the Regatta room we were given on that occasion more than compensated. It was in a separate outbuilding away from the pub so not only quiet but also roomy and comfortable. When we arrived this time we were given a warm welcome by Ryan who provided all the information we required before taking us to our room, The Regatta. It was made up with the twin bedded option just as we had requested. One small point to note was that we had requested the avoidance of air fresheners/fragrances but, unfortunately, one plug-in dispenser in the main room had not been removed. Otherwise all was well. We decided to eat at the inn that evening and were favourably impressed by the variety of the menu on offer. In the morning, a good breakfast set us up for the day and our brief stay helped us to relax and focus before the green burial of a very close friend later in the day. One thing we should mention is that when trying to find and book accommodation, admittedly at short notice, we discovered that there was not much choice. So it was a relief to find something available that we were already familiar with. The standard and size of the accommodation was more than a match for anything else we could see but more than that, it was noticeably cheaper too.
We had a lovely stay at the cherry tree inn we was in the area for a wedding , the room was lovely and spacious for us family of 4 . Breakfast was lovely and the check out time was a bonus 11am . We will definitely stay here again
Choose Cherry Tree
Accommodation very good. Food and service excellent. Wi-Fi connection was very patchy. Would stay again.
Terrible wi fi and late start for breakfast
Room was top floor of the ‘Barn’ No wi fi signal so no reports files, so early night. Breakfast doesn’t start until 9am so I had some yogurt, granola and a sandwich delivered to my room which they put on ice , the night before.
The owner was really friendly and helpful, our room was spacious and clean the breakfast hit the spot we were spoilt for choice , will defiantly use the cherry tree again when we return
Friendly, efficient staff, good food and lovely room, thoroughly enjoyed it
Woodbridge
Great place, lovely food, friendly staff, short walk to town
.
Delightful place!
Lovely cozy pub with great food and friendly staff. The room was warm and clean and very well facilitated. Very pleased, we'll be back.
Would stay again
Staff attentive, went the extra mile regarding our dietary requirements. Room was lovely and large, good amenities. Sadly let down by not so clean bathroom/floor/skirtings/nooks and crannies. Cobwebs in bedroom and clean but previously blood stained sheet. Lobby area to the two barn rooms not clean. Breakfast from 9am meant going without as husband had to meet on site at 8am.
excellent service and clean
Happy to return again.
Excellent stay. The room was across the car park from the pub. Clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and service was great. There was a minor misunderstanding at breakfast but it was very swiftly resolved. Breakfast was extremely good.
Great place to stay and eat
Top notch place to stay and eat, Spotless accommodation and exceptionally nice food prepped from scratch Staff were lovely too
Great room
Spacious light and airy spotlessly clean room. Large very comfortable bed. Great breakfast.
Very nice pub and hotel. Staff were great - extremely helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was good. Good location - near station and town centre.
Broadside room was superb for a family, spotlessly clean, modern quality furnishings and with an immaculate en suite. A nice touch on the hospitality tray was real coffee, not instant. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The Cherry Tree us a good old fashioned pub with welcoming locals, great beer and excellent food. Yes, we would stay again!
Spacious and comfortable
The broadside room was lovely and spacious. Staff were friendly and the room was in good condition, with lovely decor. We had a lovely stay and the food at the pub was delicious. We would stay again.
Very enjoyable. We ate in the first night. Staff were energetic welcoming and always available. We were wel provided with coffee and tea and biscuits in e room. Only two niggles: in the sultry weather the duvet was rather heavy and the adjustment of the temperature for the main shower was difficult - very hot or very hot!
A lovely walk to the estuary from the accommodation. beautiful scenery. staff very polite and accommodating. excellent food.
Great room, great pub.
Great room and really nice pub.
Had a great stay. Property is a pub, but the rooms are in a garden at the back, and face away from the pub itself, so there is no issue with noise. Pub/restaurant itself is very old-English and atmospheric, with a real fire in the winter. Excellent freshly cooked breakfasts. Rooms are very spacious. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful, especially under difficult lockdown conditions.
Staff very helpful and breakfast a great choice . Room was great for a small family with the high street nearby. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely stay. Roll out beds were fine for the kids. The emergency light was a little bright so it took them time to get to sleep. Lovely breakfast included.
We stayed as 2 couples occupying 2 rooms. The rooms were very clean and equipped with TV, tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits, an iron and hair drier. It has to be said the staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful. We ate an evening meal in the restaurant and had breakfast on 2 mornings. All food was very well cooked and presented. Parking was available in the pub car park which was crowded at times but we always found a space although on occasion, others were less fortunate but it was Saturday night. We had a very pleasant stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Cherry Tree to others.
Surpassed all expectations Friendly helpful staff Great room Fantastic breakfast Money well spent
Perfect
Great location. Well appointed room. Clean. Polite helpful staff. Excellent breakfast included and tasty lunches and dinners. See you in October.
A very nice hotel
Overall, a very pleasant family break and we would come back if opportunity arises. The staff are very friendly, and the hotel room was big enough for a family. The cookies on arrival were simply amazing! The breakfast was cooked to order and sufficiently varied to try different things on diferent days. On the minus side: the room was abit hot at night, and one of the rollaway beds could be more comfortable. The Freeview chanels were very limited, some of them were garbled. But these are minor inconveniences.
Although the pub was on the main road the accommodation was set back in the car park and very quiet. The pub had suffered a fire in the kitchen, but they had coped well and organised breakfast on the quay. Staff were very helpful and also served a great continental breakfast in the pub.
Nice spacious, comfortable, quiet room .. with plenty of wardrobe space.
Great Place to stay
Lovely place to stay, the room was large and well equipped. Staff were very helpful and knew the local area, and the food was good to! What more could you ask for :-)
Broadside suite
We loved staying at The Cherry Tree, the staff were so friendly, room spacious & clean & breakfast was very good will definitely come back- if I was asked about any improvements it would be a bigger bed in the broadside suite and a box of tissues
Brilliant stay at the Cherry Tree
Had a brilliant stay, not our first, and definitely won't be our last! Room lovely, staff wonderful and food delicious 😊
Great place
This is an excellent place to stay: clean, comfortable, friendly helpful staff and excellent breakfast. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again

Suffolk revisited
2 nights away, visiting Aldeburgh, Sutton Hoo and Woodbridge. Accomodation was perfect for and our two dogs. Staff in pub were very attentive and friendly, making a fuss of our pups. Would highly recommended.
