Lovely place to stay Menu bit limited
Lovely location and friendly staff
Excellent staff when you could locate them
Property looked a fantastic venue for weddings or celebrations but was not set up for business stays. Reception was not located in the motel and not well sign posted so it took a long time to locate a member of staff to collect my room keys. Reception was closed in the morning and I could not locate a member of staff to check out. Breakfast was advertised from 7.30 but didn’t open until 8. The staff were very friendly and accommodating when I managed to locate them. The room was comfortable enough and the surrounding areas were scenic and well maintained.
Amazing
Very relaxing, staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a lovely pond, wildlife and animals. We got to fed the ducks too. We will definitely be coming back.
Work stay
Great hotel very comfortable bed. All seems new and clean. Just 2 little things, the bathroom floor creaked so felt bad for my neighbors in the night and couldn't seem to turn the heating down in the bathroom, so it was very hot.
all fine
I keep going back.
Stay here regularly, clean modern rooms, not noisy, close to various places to eat. Tea & coffee provided, an Ironing board if you need it, and a TV, with decent showers in all the rooms (I've tried!)
Emergency lighting in room was annoying
Brilliant the staff were welcoming the lakeside rooms were fantastic
1st time here for an overnight stay. When we finally found the entrance, check in was easy & we were directed to our room in a new block across the car park. The room was lovely, spacious, clean, modern, with a beautiful bathroom & plenty of hot water. The only slight criticism was the water in the sink did not empty quickly. There were two rooms in the building & a nice touch was the extra towels, tea/coffee & milk left in the entrance hall in case more were needed. The evening meals choice on offer was very basic. We were told by the staff in the cafe that breakfast would be from 7am, despite being advertised at 7.30am. However, they didnt open until 8am which was too late for our pick up taxi, so our breakfast was coffee & biscuits in our room - disappointed! Overall, a great place for an overnight stay but very limited food options.
The room was nice, clean and modern
Stayed whilst attending an event at Bolton stadium
Really lovely large room. Staff at the bar were very friendly and the cafe/lake setting was beautiful.
Overnight stay
The room was lovely, although if I’d realised we would have requested a lake view. All staff on sight we encountered were really friendly. However, when returning late at night to our room, we couldn’t open the outside door. The lock kept spinning and the door wouldn’t open. We tried to call for help but there isn’t anyone on sight, it was all in darkness. Eventually after half an hour my husband launched himself against the door and it opened. I’m not sure why it was like this as earlier on in the day it was easy to open. It spoilt it a bit really as other than that it was really nice.
One night stay
Stayed for one night. Great location, easy to find. Room was really nice, lots of space and clean. Would definitely stay here again.
Pleasant, comfy stay
Check in was smooth ( you need to check in at the bar as there is no separate reception). The room was clean and I found the double bed comfy .
Basic accommodation for the price which Did not include breakfast. It was nevertheless clean, but without any frills. No proper signage on arrival and a poor welcome from the bar staff regarding the keys, the booking and even where exactly the room was!. Road noise was something of issue.
Okay
Reasonably priced but the facilities are basic. Could have been cleaner although not too bad. Problems working the shower.
Short stay
One night stay, room very clean, bright, nicely decorated, over looking the lake. Ideal for families with young children, there are ducks, a donkey and pony. Bar and family area, lite bites available. Check-in straight forward at the bar managed by Lucy and Jake, they were very friendly and attentive, nothing too much trouble
OK but lack of onsite food choice
Room was good, spacious but in a separate building on the opposite side of the carpark. Bar/ restaurant had extremely limited food choice so not a place to go to unwind as you will need to go out & nowhere in walking distance.
Quite expensive No hair dryer Very noisy
The room was lovely and clean. Well presented and warm
Great location close to the M6, nice clean room, signage not good in the dark so difficult to find where to check in, staff were not particularly welcoming and offered no information about food or services
.
Lovely clean room with view of the lake.
Spotlessly clean
Easy to find , a few minutes form the motorway . Clean , comfortable room and one of the best freshly cooked breakfast we've had . Only improvement I could suggest would be a sign pointing to where you need to check in - there's quite a few doors !
New Years Eve
Beautiful setting and warm comfortable room. We were disappointed however to learn that breakfast wasn't available as check out was on New Years Day. Had we known beforehand we could have made arrangements to bring our own. Staff however were very pleasant and made us welcome.
Ok place for the price charged
Dood and comfortable clean bed. However wear and tear starts to be visible in the room, carpet and bathroom. Ok place for the price you pay!
The reception area was in a bar and not mentioned when booking Otherwise the overall place looked nice Nice place to walk around in the summer months if you have young children as there are animals to look at and in the shop
It is a beautiful property to look at. The staff were difficult, it took from 3.00 till 3.30 to check in The room was small and the shower not very nice It was difficult to find signs and it was very spread out so there was a lot of unnecessary walking for older people.
Nice place but no food nearby
Really nice room in a lovely farm. Very kind personell. The only downside is the absence of food: they only have some nibbles and not every day. So if you do not have a car you will need to use taxi every evening to avoid to starve.
Good Standard
Always great value
Lovely property, only negative room & bathroom very small
Property was excellent clean and comfortable. Wouldn’t recommend the breakfast in the barn though.
Great find
Great find, lovely room, lists of parking, pleasant setting. Just off motorway.
Ideal for overnight accommodation.
Quiet and suitable for an overnight stay between locations.
Needed a place to stay
The staff are very nice helpful they went out of their way to help me out I will definitely be going back when I’m up that way
Lovely room, very clean
Lovely and clean great service nice pub across the car park. Would recommend and go back.
Business stay
Room was clean and comfy and the pub next door did nice food. Only downside as a business stay was there wasn't room to work. On this occasion it wasn't a problem though.
Very pleasant rooms overlooking the lake. Could do with more of an evening meal choice and more than one staff member on at breakfast.
Flying visit
Was a fleeting visit just to get our heads down for the night before travelling again. The room was comfortable and clean enough. Nice furniture and decoration. My only complaint is that the cistern in the bathroom dripped all night and disturbed our sleep. Plenty of parking outside. Easy enough check in.

Not personally wondefull too small
Stay was ok. Could do with a Fan and a Mini Fridge. Bed was way too soft mattress wise and didn't like the hard wooden bed frame and headboard. Soon was I walked in I bashed my Shin on the bed Grazing it. Had to plug in the TV and Kettle as wasn't plugged in. (Not enough plug sockets. Shower hadn't been cleaned properly still hair in shower from someonelses stay. Heated towel rail didn't turn on. Tv too far away from bed and very small to see could do with being wall mounted nearer to the bed. Very easy to bash arms on side tables so be careful when in bed.
