Location location location! I loved my stay at the Central Hostel. The staff were super nice and helpful and the location is truly central and very walkable. I stayed in a 8 bed mixed dorm for the first time and the blackout blinds were a gamechanger for me. Other than a microwave there's no kitchen but there're an Aldi and Carrefour nearby which is super helpful. The washrooms and the showers weren't the cleanest and it didn't feel like they were being cleaned daily but it's a hostel after all. If I'd ever go back to Bordeaux, I'll definitely stay here but would book a female dorm instead. Merciii :>
Brilliant stay
Fantastic service, very well situated - great value for money for a short stay in the city.
The area is not safe, a lot of homeless around the hotel. Services are very limited: WiFi didn’t work, terrible smell in the lobby and bathroom, not possible to set your temperature in the room, no iron available even if you ask the front desk. The overall experience was not so good.
Huge private top floor room with a view
We stayed in 401 which is a very large private room. We lived everything about the room and the stay. The hostel is perfectly located for walking to all the old town sites. We’ll stay again.
Unfortunately, the hostel does not have control of its surroundings. At the time of my stay, there were some unhoused people with dogs. And at night they would bark. ( the dogs not the people ) But in no insistence did I feel unsafe. The area is very centrical and walking distance to most attraction. Highly recommend.
great stay
very pleasant stay julliette was very informative and professional. highly recimmend staying here good location!!
We had a great stay in a family room. When we closed the window it was completely quiet with no noise getting in from the square. Staff were very helpful. The breakfast option was excellent. The location was perfect for walking about the beautiful city. Highly recommend.
Fantastic!!
This did not seem like a hostel. It was amazing. we had a private room. Location cannot be beat. Amazing cafe and area to hang out downstairs. super quiet. On a famous square in an old church.
Excellent service
location is brilliant in the centre of Bordeaux. However, i went expecting breakfast as advertised only to be told they did not serve food. They need to change their ads about the hostel. However, excellent cafe just round the corner. They also need to be more communicative about tourism, and where the tourist bureau is, as they themselves were not able to answer my questions. Staff good natured however.
Cute, clean, centrally located hostel!
Amazing hostel! Cute, clean and perfectly located on StCatherine street (longest pedestrian only street!! Lots of shopping!). All the facilities were in great condition and updated. As a solo traveler it could have been a little bit more socially oriented, but that is being super picky! Would recommend!
Staff
Great place for a girls weekend!
T'was a girls weekend in Bordeaux. We booked a private suite for four. Very comfortable, clean room. Confusion re the towels - we "rented" some per the welcome email and the room ended-up having towels. Hooks would be nice to hang them after showering, as well as water cups. Also, housekeeping was advertised. They did a partial cleaning and ended-up taking some of our souvenir cups. We fortunately got 4/6 back. Also, very much appreciated coffee and tea in the room. Overall a great stay and would return. Oh, and the location was good though there were a lot of homeless people/squatters in the square.
Amazing location
The location was spot on, right in the middle of the city. Good facilities and a nice cafe bar on site.
Best place to stay if traveling alone
If you travel alone this is the place for you. Very helpful and friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable. Stayed for a few days and I didn’t want to leave. Close to lots of beautiful churches and monuments. Lots of shopping nearby. If I’m ever in Bordeaux again I will definitely stay here
Disappointed and poor design
I stayed in an 8 bedroom bed...if you have a suitcase or big bag it won’t fit in locker. There were only three of us one night and if there was a fire ...there were two large bags in the small path to door. I could expect it could be worse with more bags. Hard to brush teeth in morning when hostel is full, two sinks for woman for a number of rooms. Downstairs is a restaurant but also I think a lounging area??? Wasn’t quite sure if you could just lounge. It would be great if staff welcomed you with an overview of the city with a map. Great location. Very expensive considering.
A pleasant stay
Good location. Cozy design. Spacious and comfortable room. Breakfast is good at reasonable price. The restaurant "Kitchen" provides good food too. One advice to those using iPhone with phone language set in Chinese (I don't know if this applies to other languages other than English). You can only access to the hotel's wifi by turning the phone language into English
Location is very good. There is a restaurant and bar if you like.
September
Great staff, clean room, thanks again!
The location of the hostel was perfect for a night out and to occasionally come back to freshen up or drop things off. The beds were very private and the curtain blocked out a lot of light. Nice looking showers and amenities, even had a hair dryer. The lobby/restaurant is a nice place to hang and do some work/research. I would say that the showers and bathrooms could be cleaner. The room was warm at night and we couldn't keep the windows opened for too long because of the noise outside.
Good hostel
The hostel is new, central, clean, cheap and well decorated. The sounds are sound proofed. The breakfast is good. The girls wearing there are attentive and polite. I would say that the beer is a little expensive and it was hot at night due to it being 32C during the night but I would recommend this hostel.
When can I go back?
It was absolutely amazing, I got to meet new people everyday that was sharing the same passion for traveling as me. The breakfast was delicious and this hostel is located right in the center of Bordeaux, walking distance to every nice restaurants or touristic monuments
Nice hostel
New hostel, very clean and stylish. Location is great, right in the old town pedestrian area. But a bit far from bus stop to train station.
A great place to stay
Great place to stay. I love that there are shutters so you still have that little bit of privacy and it does well to block out unwanted light at night from other people. Very clean.
The place is hip and new with new facilities and a restaurant/bar in the lobby but it's not quite a hostel. It does not have any kitchen facility. Even just a kettle and a microwave would make backpacker's lives easier. I felt that the price was extremely high for what you get - even the luggage storage in the locker is at cost before check-in and after check-out.
Double room
Not great accommodation and wouldn't stay again. Probably good for backpackers in dorms, but not worth the price of the double rooms. Room was very cold on arrival and had to go downstairs to ask for room to be heated at least 5 times in 2 days as there is no thermostat in the room. Staff seemed to turn heat on for 30 mins then off (aside from 1 time when left on for 2 hours) so was generally cold again very quickly. No blackout blinds as advertised and those that were there were old and broken. Music playing on Saturday night until 2am downstairs, which prevented us from sleeping on floor 4... Basically a party hostel with some overpriced double rooms that would cater to a different crowd.
Good hostel
I stayed in a female only room. Each bed comes with a spacious locker, outlet, light, and shelf. Privacy curtains are there, but they’re more like blinds and are very noisy to open, which you have to do any time you want to leave the bed. Not much maneuverability between the rows of beds in my room though. Only big complaint I have is the fact that after you check out, if you want to keep your bags at the hostel, you have to pay for it. The lockers are secure, but still frustrating to have to pay for a service that is usually offered free of charge at hostels. Location is very good.
Great location!
Check-in was quick, and the first impression of the hostel was great. The room, 8 bed dorm, was very very compact. There's a barely enough room for a person to pass by between the beds. However, It was very clean and loved the privacy curtain. On the other hand, I didn't appreciate no kitchen plus no outside food allowed in the hostel policy. It just make it more difficult for budget travellers to stay at this hostel. Overall, it was a good stay.
Great
Great location, nice facilities and very friendly staff.
Decent stay but lacks aktivities and cleanness
I was a bit disappointed with my stay at this hostel. The location was very good, and the room was nice with very private bunkbeds that each had its own curtain. That made you feel like you had your own little space. However, there were no activities during my stat, and there was generally not a hostel “vibe” where you felt it was natural to speak to others. The bar-area in the reception was alright, but each person just sat by themself. For me, that was quite disappointing. Furthermore, in the room, there were some very weird-looking dark spots in the ceiling that definitely looked like some kind of mould. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures, but it was definitely a bit concerning. Other than that, the room was clean and the bed felt very nice as well.
The service was very good and comfortable.

Nice hostel for short term stays. Can be noisy due to people on the street outside.
