Breakfast too late
The Casona hotel was the first of the so called “Indianos” houses in Cudillero built by Asturian emigrants returning from the Americas. It dates from the late 19th century and was fully restored to its original condition in 1998. It has the atmosphere of a large comfortable home with 2 sitting rooms and a small bar. Our room had a small sitting room with views over the beautiful surrounding hills. Although there is no restaurant, there was an excellent restaurant 10minutes walk away which is used by the locals. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and attentive and catered for your every need. Breakfast was excellent and served till 11am. In all very highly recommended.
Beautiful old building, very helpful and hardworking staff. Lovely breakfast with other restaurants in walking distance. Rooms on lower floors may experience noise from above due to wooden flooring, some mats may help.
De haber sabido que me iba a gustar tanto me hubiera quedado más tiempo, la casa es hermosa, el desayuno me encantó y todas son super amables y serviciales! Gracias 💗
It was a Beatiful property and the staff was unbelievable. They go out of the way to help and guide you. Will stay here again for sure
Amazing place! the staff was very friendly and helpful, the room were very clean and the entire property is beautiful. I would definitely come back!
Hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff quite helpful. Breakfast is available, but not an evening meal. There is however a very nice restaurant just a minutes walk across the road. I felt that the hotel lacked atmosphere, but that is a personal opinion
Excellent
Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean, and wonderful breakfast
Room at the Top
A pleasant stay in a lovely old casona. My only remark would be that, whilst it did not concern us too much that our room on the top floor had only rooflights, nevertheless I believe that this should have been made clear at the time of booking. I f you are thinking of quick trips by car down to the village for sustenance forget it, but there are alternatives..
Best Breakfast
Could not recommend high enough, beautiful property. A 3 km walk to village. Lovely full breakfast.
Highly recommended
Fantastic place to stay: quiet, beautifully decorated and clean. You can take 3km walk to the beach or 1km to the port in Cudillero.
This wonderful hotel is perfect in every way.
This is a grand looking house with lovely gardens and lounges, and there is ample and very good parking behind the hotel. Check in was very good and our room is in a very modern annex and is very nice, in a motel style sort of way. It is very comfortable, well equipped and has an excellent en-suite with fabulous shower. Breakfast was top class and, rather than help yourselves to a buffet, you order what you want and they bring it to you. We enjoyed juice, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, scrambled eggs, a selection of charcuterie and cheeses and various types of toast. The service was excellent, as was the presentation; and when you add the sheer style and ambience of the house and its decor it would put many 5 star hotels to shame. As has been pointed out in previous reviews, the hotel isn’t actually in Cudillero and is up the hill in nearby El Pito. It is relatively easy to walk down to Cudillero however and we found that it took between 15 and 20 minutes. There are pavements all the way and traffic is light anyway. Coming back is a different matter and takes about 25-30 minutes. Quite simply, if you are the type of person who can’t go up the stairs without stopping for breath, don’t do it. The bottom line is that if you are visiting Cudillero I can’t imagine you could find a better place to stay than at this top class hotel. We found it perfect in every way and will certainly use it again.
Beautiful hotel, quiet and peaceful. Lovely breakfast and charming staff.
Beyond good service!
This b&b is so gorgeous! The decor is incredible and makes you feel like you’re in a luxurious Spanish home. The service was beyond good. I am gluten free and asked them if they had any options for this, not thinking that there would be much in such a small village, however, they were able to provide me with gluten free bread for our first breakfast and then ordered me special gluten free cupcakes for our second breakfast. They also left us chocolates on our bed after cleaning the room, also providing special chocolate for me that was gluten free. This place is classy and cozy and they treat you so well. I would love to stay here again and would recommend it to everyone.
Stylish, elegant and friendly; extraordinary quiet retreat in touristy area. The ladies in charge care about every detail, from the flower in the vase on the night table to keeping the fireplace in the cozy small library. Great breakfast. The small port with all the restaurant buzz is about 1 km walk away - steep path closer to the town; after visiting the picturesque area we spent a nice time reading by the fireplace. A perfect stay
Family owned hotel. Staffs are very responsive to all needs.
Relaxing and comfortable
Friendly and helpful, wonderful characterful property
Good if looking for a quiet place
It was comfortable. Good service and communication.
Perfect Stop!
Great family owned hotel. Everything EXCELLENT!
Charming small hotel in quiet area.
The hotel gave us a warm welcome and staff were very helpful with information of the area, such as good restaurants and places to visit. The surrounding gardens were small but pretty and the hotel and gardens both had a rustic charm. Breakfast was busy but worth the wait.
This is an excellent property! The public rooms are lovely. Small but inviting bar area is perfect for a drink and relaxing. Breakfast - which is a full meal! - is an extra charge and work it if you want to fuel up for the day. Our double rooms was lovely. Gardens are spectacular. Would stay here again and recommend!
A lovely stay! We really enjoyed everything -- breakfast was excellent and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Playa de Aguliar is a must-visit :)
Very nice, quiet place - hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast, for an extra cost, was good value and filling. The grounds were quite pleasant and had free onsite parking, which is always appreciated. A little bit of a walk down the hill to the restaurants and the heart of Cudillero (~ 15 minutes, so not bad), but it is such a lovely village. Well worth a visit
Exceptionally beautiful and highly recommeded!
Casona de la Paca is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed while traveling. The room itself was comfortable and well appointed, with a separate sitting room with a balcony where we read, sat in the sun and chatted, etc. The grounds are a wonderful place to relax, and the communal spaces downstairs were lovely, as well. A full spread was served for breakfast in the mornings, too. We would love to stay there again if visiting Cudillero! It's just outside of the main part of the town and I would recommend to anyone looking for a calm and serene place to relax.
Absolutely Fabulous
Loved our stay. Beautiful hotel - great service. Delicious breakfast. Wished we could have stayed longer
Great placr to spend the night
Amazing romantic place. Good area to walk around Cudilleros. Good food. Try walking inbetween the houses going uphill from Cudilleros to the hoyel hust for the adventure
A beautifully restored property in a great location. All the staff were very helpful and knowledgable about the local area.
Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel. Lovely walk to town. Very helpful hosts.
This isn’t the most expensive hotel we’ve stayed in but it might well be the best one. Casona de la Paca is in a beautiful setting, lovely grounds and amazing views. It’s a great walk into town (& you can take a taxi back to the hotel). Staff are extremely helpful, friendly and meticulous.
Beautiful hotel - great stay
Really lovely hotel. Room was very comfortable and the communal areas stylish but relaxed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast (which incurred an extra charge) was delicious.
Charming
Lovely casona with charming staff. Only drawback is it's a long walk back up the hill from the port at night.
Old Fashion Elegence
We were so pleasantly surprised. This place is beautiful, the grounds, the building and the interior. They have created a place of calm and comfort. The staff were so helpful and excited to share information about their city and surrounding area. Breakfast was an unexpected treat too, so many choices and all prepared fresh. In the late afternoon we would come back for a break and sit in the sun room, feeling like we lived in a "Poriot" movie set. I would come back to Cudillero, actually El Pito, just to stay here for a few days. The beauty of the surrounding villages and beaches are worth exploring. Many days we just went out and wandered the roads to unknown destinations and found such amazing beauty. A must stay if you find yourself in this region of Spain!
Quality, character, value
Lovely building inside and out. Friendly welcome. A long walk back up hill from the village (though a nice walk down on secret path). Pretty good value.
Elegant and friendly
Beautiful hotel, very pleasant and helpful staff, only slight criticism was the noise level from outside early in the morning from traffic and barking dogs. Probably it was exclusively our room.
Beautiful hotel the staff was extra helpful and extremely friendly.
Rustic hotel in peaceful setting
We stayed one night and could have easily stayed longer in this charming hotel. Located just up the hill in El Pito only 2km from the fishing village of Cudillero the hotel is situated within lovely grounds. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and shown around the ground floor areas including sitting rooms, sun room and dining area. Our room included a separate sitting room which added to whole experience as we sat with our wine and cheese looking out over the Juliet balcony towards the countryside. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We decided on eating breakfast in-house the next morning which was a good decision. The scrabbled eggs were yummy and the other offerings were really nice too including the hams, cheese and pastries.
Surprisingly good quality. Lovely and kind staff.
Surprisingly good quality. Lovely and kind staff. We will stay again!
Gorgeous boutique hotel
This is a gorgeous small boutique hotel, beautifully kept, with staff who couldn't have been more friendly/helpful (the level of English spoken does vary a bit). Obviously doesn't provide the full range of services of a larger hotel, but makes up with the beautiful quality of what's provided, (including breakfasts). Location is about 20/30 mins walk to Cudillera, with a lively range of bars and restaurants, up/down a fairly stiff slope/steps. Fine if you like a walk in the evening (which we do) but might be a challenge for someone of limited fitness/mobility who doesn't want to drive.
Comfortable Hotel With Charm
Pros: This is a quaint, charming and comfortable hotel that allows you to escape the world, feel at home, and still enjoy modern amenities. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, the rooms are beautiful and the breakfast is delicious. Cons: This hotel is a 20 minute walk to the city center and a 40 minute walk from the train station (up steep hills). If you do not have a car this is not an ideal place to stay because you waste a lot of time walking and sites are not easily reached . In addition, at night taxis are not available to take you back, so you have no choice but to walk back if you eat dinner in the center. Dinner in the center is the only option because the hotel does have a dinner service available. The room was lovely, but we did have tons of black ants that made it uncomfortable. If you have a car this is a great place to stay and a wonderful getaway.
Great friendly hotel on a par with parador
Great place, excellent location, friendly staff. Perfect.
Beautiful and ful of character
We stayed for a week in this former Indianos mansion which has been beautifully renovated. Yes, it can be noisy because of the wooden floorboards but the place has great character, helpful and welcoming staff and brilliant breakfasts.the grounds were lovely as was our room which was comfy, light filled and stylish.
Wanted something a bit different and got it !
Very pleasant hotel. More difficult to find off the new section of the E70 - could be more sign posts. Ample parking included. Lift for those who need it. Two restaurants nearby and more in Cudillero. Quiet stay in attic room which was very pleasant. WIFI bit patchy. Best not pay for breakfast in advance in pounds - much cheaper to pay on the day in euros - worth having ! A very nice example of a sympathetically renovated " Indianos " mansion. Beats modern hotels hands down for character.
Fantastic hotel
This is extremely charming boutique hotel. Beautifully restored old house with high comfort bedrooms and lovely garden, our stay was extremely pleasant and relaxing. The whole house is tastefully decorated, bedrooms are of good size and beds very comfortable. The hotel is pristine clean and the atmosphere very chilling. Downstairs lounge with fire place is very cosy place to spend time reading books and dining room with adjoining second lounge is spacious and elegant. The breakfast (extra charge Eur 9) is really worth it as it includes a wide selection of home made sweets plus the selection of Spanish ham, cheese etc. All delicious and beautifully presented. The location of the hotel is on a quiet road just off main road that leads to the fishing village and port of Cudillero (cca 5-6 mins drive, too far to walk). There are no shops or restaurants in the near vicinity and therefore car is a must. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. As this hotel doesn't have restaurant, they suggested several restaurants in Cudillero and also helped with planning our journey the next day to visit local beaches and other towns/villages. Highly recommended, will definitely return!
A characterful hotel with good staff
A very characterful converted former mansion with fascinating decorations and very helpful staff. Whilst there is no restaurant in the hotel, breakfasts are fresh and tasty, and there is a very good local restaurant serving good homecooked fare only a short walk away. The grounds are pleasant and there is plenty of parking. You need a car to stay here as the walk down to Cudillero is very steep and should not be attempted at night. The hotel makes a good base for local excursions, such as to some terrific cliff scenery to the west. There is also a good local beach. When we were unable to get a taxi back from Cudillero one night the hotel arranged alternative transport for us.
Lovely Cudilerio
A lovely situation, very relaxing staying here. Have stayed here the last few years and have never been diassapointed. Worth getting a taxi (cheap) to the harbour as there are a loy of very good fish restaurants there.
country hotel in grand style
an excellent hotel, beautiful furnishings, grounds and facilities and close to the delightful village of Cudillero. A breakfast to entice the most fussy palate and helpful friendly staff. We would go often if only it was not so far away, a real find! It was a pity we could not stay longer.
Slightly underwhelming
Our room wasn't in the main hotel but self-catered accomodation at the back, which allowed us to cook our own meal (cheaper than the local restaurants), but wasn't quite what we expected. Considering we also stayed in the much nicer Casona de Lupa hotel nearby for the same price, the room was quite expensive.
Close to pretty Cudillero
Our room was probably the smallest which we thought rather expensive. It was barely aequte for two people with luggage. Breakfast was superb but again quite pricey at over E16 for two.

Cute little hotel with friendly staff. Very cozy with a retro vibe. Would stay again
