This was our 4th time at this Campanille. We like it because it is ideal for our dog. Great walks in the woods only 5 mins away. The only problem was a power cut in the night, did not come back on until 7.15am.
Not easy to find with satnav
Worst campanile stay ever?
I’ve usually had good experiences at Campaniles but this one was the worst I’ve known. The staff were very pleasant, but my room was in a bit of a state with a hole in the bathroom door repaired in amateur fashion. The bed was hard and the mattress hard and undulating so not comfortable at all. And to top it off, the wall between my room and the adjoining one was paper thin. There was a very noisy couple in the room next door and they talked loudly into the night. It felt as if they were in the room standing next to my bed. There is ZERO soundproofing. I had a tumultuous night’s sleep and I would not want to repeat the experience. I can barely drive today as I’m so tired.
Good for an overnight stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Disappointed the restaurant doesn’t open at the weekend. We were however offered pizza. Breakfast was very good.
We had interrupted sleep from 1.50 am for about 2 hours with couple shouting and giggling. Highlighting the sound insulation is inadequate. It was like they were in the room with us . We had an early start and long journey the next day . So we weren’t very rested . Such a shame that people have no consideration for other patrons . When hardly anyone in hotel why put people in adjoining rooms ?
Restaurant not open!!
We often choose Campanile when travelling through France. It’s a standard chain offering everything needed for a quick stopover, at no frills rates. We checked into this one, just South of Rouen after a long drive, only to find the restaurant was closed. We were extremely disappointed as this aspect of a Campanile stay is by far, a good, value for money option when considering your evening meal requirements. My advice would be to telephone in advance of your booking, to check, if you need to eat or drink. I would have booked elsewhere had I have known.
Friendly but tired
Staff were delightful. Hotel is motel-style and very tired.
The property is very tired and needs general maintenance and painting . The rooms are ok
Was great that our dogs are welcome . There was a garden just outside our door for their comfort breaks . The staff were friendly and helpful . We will definitely be going back on our next trip
Stay somewhere else.
This hotel is very dated. The doors do not lock properly and made us feel very unsafe with lots of men standing around their doors smoking. In fact, someone even walked into our room at 9am!! All rooms open onto the outside, no safe communal area. The pillows are tiny and bar prices high.
Staff very friendly
Excellent quiet comfortable. Helpful staff
Under the circumstances of Covid-19 the stay we had was very good and the price was reasonable even though the price of breakfast was a little high for the choice of food.
Nice hotel!
It was a very nice, business type hotel. The onsite restaurant was good, the rooms were clean, it was in a nice, safe area.
December 2019
Lovely location, peace and quiet. The room was a fair size and clean. Reception were always helpful. Room was nice and warm. No wifi connection at all ! and even though the room cleaners were friendly and kind, they kept on asking if they could clean the room. Could not take advantage of breakfast as it costs 10.90€ per person which is quiet expensive. Overall stay was good.
Expensive one night stay
For a room which cost 170 euros, it was no bigger than one at Ibis Budget, no towels had to ask for them, no facilities to heat food, no hairdryer, air con not very good. We were told the room had just been redecorated, yes it looked nice but for the price there should have been alot more items available, a pool was available but not really applicable for a one night stay. Would not be returing
The usual no frills green coloured stop over. Been before and will again
Break the journey at Rouen
Hotel was busy so had to wait for a while for dinner to be served. I should say that this was unusual from our past experience. Brilliant choice in buffet desserts makes up for any disenchantment elsewhere.
Overnight stay on journey.
Good for our overnight stay. Parking secure. Food good with wide choice - beware of dessert buffet, very tempting! Room acceptable standard.
Very friendly. The restaurant was delicious. Great food and service. Would stay here again.
Pleasant hotel but not so easy to find - needs better signage
Very pleased we found a good overnight stay hotel.
Really good hotel if you're wanting a good quality budget overnight stay on a long journey. We will be happily staying over again on other occasions as we travel this route 5 times a year. Very good price - breakfast is very good as well.
Clean, comfortable, quiet. Perfect overnight stay
Very quiet area of Rouen. Clean, comfortable room, restaurant on site and excellent breakfast. Perfect for our overnight stay
Stayed here several times before, it's in a lovely quiet location surrounded by trees but near to main road access. The rooms have been 'modernised' since our last visit but the hotel exterior is the same. We were actually put into a disabled access room, no problem with that actually. The main issue was that the bathroom was a wet room, I guess they are all like this now. A nice modern idea but all we seemed to do was wander around the rest of the bathroom floor post shower getting it even wetter & it took hours to dry! The taps are now sensor operated & as others I've used in the UK, pretty useless. Bed was surprisingly comfortable enough despite it seeming to be to hard. Nonetheless, we would stay here again.
If you are on the road, this is it.
Clean comfortable bed for a good repairing sleep. A refreshing shower in a b room that has all you need. A breakfast with great coffee , fresh finch bread, ham , cheese and pastries . If this is what you are looking for this is what you will get for a great price.
Campanile Rouen Expo
Have stayed here before, again on our way back home. Set in a very quiet location surrounded by trees but with good, quick transport links. Room typical of Campanile style, nice big comfy bed in fairly big room, desk area with T & C facilities. Nice bathroom area, clean and functional in good order with double overhead shower facility. Adequate space for storage of clothing etc. Plenty of parking available. We stayed on a Sunday night so there is no 'chef' on, however there is a buffet available and we rather enjoyed our simple 3 course meal! Restaurant area very clean & welcoming and the single member of staff we met was quite polite & helpful. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if available.
Budget hotel but small room
Considering it is not in the busy area, the room was rather small. Parking space is abundance. If you have big cases, it is wise to have ground floor. We are supposed to have superior room, but we can't really see the difference! The staircase to go upstairs is a challenge!
Easy access to the A10
The rooms needed a makeover as the wash basin was cracked . Ideal for a stop over on route home from the south.
We needed a stop-over hotel for one night that was hassle-free, allowing us to eat, sleep and go. Perfect. On the downside, it was not easy to find as the hotel used its new address (road name) that was not listed on my year old GPS system! Also, the phone number of the hotel given was inaccurate (too many '3s' in the country code. Very friendly staff and good food for the money.
Well placed for travellers
OK but a bit tired. Offered room change by helpful staff
Just a one night stopover en route to Spain. Nice wooded peaceful location yet within a few minutes of Autoroutes. Friendly staff clean rooms nice restaurant area. For the money it was hard to beat. Recommended!
Campanile Rouen
Stop over en route to Calias. Good location for the Expo Centre and a few nice restaurants close by. Hotel was basic but clean
A bientot Campanile
Overnight stay for 4 adults (2 rooms booked)- rooms were perfect with comfy beds, lovely towels and superb shower. Tea/coffee making facilities were ample. Staff friendly and breakfast was very good although due to a large group eating before we arrived supplies were very low and we had to wait for food, milk and cutlery to be replenished.
Good value for overnight stay
Hotel is difficult to find but once there is good value for an overnight stop. Rooms are small but nicely refurbished. Although there were several families staying it was quiet and beds were clean and comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. Food in the restaurant was disappointing in the evening but breakfast was good. There is a kettle in the room but we had to ask for cups and there was only 1 teabag and 1 sachet of coffee provided.
Check your SatNav!
We have stayed at this hotel before, but used the car's SatNav to get there. Imagine our surprise when we arrived at the B&B hotel 4 km away. Fortunately the old SatNav took us to the right place. There is a new LeClerc not far away with reasonably priced petrol. The hotel rooms are smaller than most Campaniles hotels but still big enough for a one night stay.
hotel fine, but waitress staff, need training
The hotel was fine clean, comfortable, pleasant reception staff, I only wish I could say the same for the waitress that was trying to take our order in the restaurant for our evening meal, apart from the fact that she supposedly couldn't speak any English, her manarisam towards us was very unprofessional she stood with both hands on our table leaning over us, making you feel very intimidated, the woman had no patients, when the language barrier was obvious, and she walked away, so we in turn left the restaurant without a meal and went else where. This woman needs training A.S.A.P.
Good stopover
Tricky to find if following SatNav Nice wooded area adjacent to many restaurants on Rue des Canadiens Staff very helpful. Kettle in room. Very comfortable for short stop.
Very good balue
Obliging staff, comfortable room. Excellent stopover
nice clean & secure gate
The hotel is secured by a gate during night, as well as the free car park which enhanced the safety. Just remember to bring the envelope with room card they gave while checking-in with you if you are coming back late, because the password to open the gate is on the envelope, which I only realize when I was locked outside the gate........
Good safe clean hotel on route to home in limoges
Staff accommodating , good clean room . Bit sparse on tea bags, coffee , sugar milk , only two of each in double room but I had own supplies. Just two towels for shower inadequate but reception got me two ore and extra pillows swiftly. Really very good value if a bit tricky to find, google maps went into meltdown! Would use again
Does what it says on the tin - almost
Slightly disappointing. Room was dark, not well positioned, with a very uneven access path. Decent shower. Rooms are small, do have what they claim to have - technically - but at a very basic level. Staff were nice, pleasant outdoor environment and quiet. OK for a one-nighter if passing through Rouen on a budget. Restaurant fair, bit disorganised and ran out of several items on the buffet both at dinner and breakfast. Provision of tea-coffee etc very poor.
the room was very small, the carpet was not clean, the location was not cental
good for overnight stay
adequate for overnight stay.Basic and comfortable TV reception could be improved
Cheap but comfortable
Just wanted somewhere cheap to stay as our ferry from Santander had been cancelled. We had to drive all the way to Calais, so 2 cheap stopovers were needed. This was the second of our stops and we were please with the price. The bedroom was run down but comfortable and the bedding/bathroom were clean, but the floors were not. We ate in the restaurant on site which was very good, nice menu and friendly/helpful waiting staff. Good for somewhere if you are crashing for a night on a budget, but I wouldn't stay any longer.
Oh dear! Upgrade definitely needed
OK for an overnight stay, but despite high outside temperature the room was very cold and the heater barely worked. Almost gave up on shower as it took so long for hot water to come through until we discovered hot needed the tap to the right unlike the basin which was to the left!! Definitely a room and bathroom in need of upgrading. Free wifi a bonus which worked very well.
It's a Campanile, which says it all. Clean room in a quiet location near to the Expo Parc. Secure parking for cars and motorcycles, good (& plentiful) breakfast and friendly staff. Better than expected :-)
overnight stay
I am sorry to say that we were disappointed with this hotel. The room was ok but there was fluff around the edge of the floor. It was the evening meal that was not up to standard. Our first choice was not available so we opted for the buffet menu. This was very limited, we found the salad very old and dry. There was not much choice as most of the bowls were empty. When it came to desert, we took what was available which left not a lot for the people behind us. We went to bed hungry and in the morning, did not take breakfast as we did not want to go through the same ordeal again.
Very good for an overnight stay. The food in the restaurant was very good for a small hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. ( We did have a little difficulty finding the hotel as the spelling of its location in the email and text sent to us was inaccurate and was not recognised by our satnav.e.g its St. Etienne du Rouvray and de la Mare Aux Sansoure)
Campanile Rouen Expo
Very difficult to locate. Room very cramped for family and bathroom mouldy.
Greatly in need of refurbishment
I have stayed in many Campanile Hotels a\nd this is by far the worst. There was black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom, the room smelt of stale smoke (even though it is now a none smoking room) the carpet was absolutely filthy and although a new hospitality tray had been provided, the old shably fitment was still on the wall.
Really gold
Génial
Séjour agréable. Personnel à l'écoute. A recommander.
- clean room with good beds and airco - friendly staff - good breakfast - frequent public transport to city centre on 200mtr - save parking - mac donald and italian restaurant nearby - restaurant closed for lunch and dinner due of hollydays, while fully booked!
Viskas gerai, rami aplinka.
Excellent
A bientôt.
Calme

Disappointed !!!!
We were very disappointed with the quality of hotel.I have stayed in many Campanile hotels in UK and this hotel was not up to scratch at all. The cost of the hotel breakfast was ridiculous for what we received and there was no food available when we arrived. We have stayed with your hotels on our trip back to Spain and the other hotels were excellent.
