The place was nice, clean, quiet and near restaurants.

Calafate Hostal overbooked and sent us to Oliva Hosteria which turned out to be poor with poor communication and service with a tiny room. We stayed at the Calafate Hostel earlier and it was fine but canceling us two days before arrival was a big negative.

Great location and clean rooms. Very basic breakfast but was free so can’t complain

It is a good choice for traveller on a budget. I liked that they offered discounted tours for guests and made bookings really easy. The accommodations themselves weren’t the best, but for the price they’re truly value for money.

Centrally located hostel. I booked the private room and was given a queen bed and a single bed. Central heating in the room so you can't really adjust the room temp. My main concern is that the rooms are not sound proofed and you can basically hear every noise from the next room - and I mean every noise!

The staff all warm, nice and helpful. the kitchen and bathroom clean the location is very convenient to everywhere .

Excellent service and facilities

Value for money- it’s great for budget travelers looking for inexpensive places to stay in. Don’t expect the bells and whistles. I’ve had to rent a towel for 1000 pesos, which is fine.

A good place to stay with everything needed to sleep and recharge after a long day out. The breakfast starts at 6:30am. Don’t expect anything fancy, bread & pastries with coffee to keep you going for the morning.

We get what they advertized but a strong odor of feet was persistent in the room. We went elsewhere.

Perfect location to explore Calafate and the surrounding

Private room with private bath was a must for us. Calafate Hostel’s private rooms were clean, safe and affordable. Staff was super friendly and helpful! Will return!

Very nice hostal, big room and really close to everythinh

This was our second stay at Calafate Hostel one week after our first visit. Staff is amazing. Super helpful! Included breakfast is simple with reasonably priced delicious ala carte items available. Kitchen staff super friendly.

Convenient location

Convenient location to walk to main streets or lake. Most staff helpful though incorrect information caused a problem with my airport transport. Breakfast was very ordinary.

If you want somewhere clean, don’t go here. A friend and I stayed in two different rooms on two different stays during our time at Calafate Hostel. I was motivated to book due to the value for such a highly-rated set of rooms. I’m writing this review so that you don’t make the same mistake. I don’t think either room knows what clean actually means. Neither floors had been brushed or surfaces wiped even for crumbs. We had a fridge in our rooms, both stank, had clearly been neglected by the cleaners between stays and one even had half-eaten food remaining from the previous occupiers. In one of our bathrooms, the ceiling had blue mould. In the second, the bathmat had started to turn yellow, presumably because it isn’t cleaned between stays. This was backed up by the loud squelch when you stand on it. The furnishings are fraying, broken or stained to the point you wouldn’t want to utilise them. To be fair I liked the heated floor tiles, but I wouldn’t dare place my bare feet on them. After seeing the cleanliness (or lack thereof) in the room, I decided against breakfast. From word of mouth, it was apparently difficult to find a clean glass for your morning orange juice. I feel glad I went to a cafe instead. When we were excited to leave, we found out that ‘there were no transfers’ that day. If I had to choose one thing I liked, it was that the TV worked. That’s it. Comfortable room, staff at front desk could be slow at times, there was always a long queue. Breakfast very basic. Kitchen- disgusting and no utensils. Wi-Fi not good.

This was good value for our first night in El Calafate. We emailed them beforehand to arrange a shuttle from the airport and it was so nice to have a stress-free aspect to a long travel day from Buenos Aires. We walked to El Cucharón around the corner for dinner after check-in and it was lovely. You need to leave your key at the front desk when you leave the building, which we experienced at another place in El Chalten as well. Bed was good, shower took a long time to get hot, breakfast was standard. It was a 25 min walk to the bus station in the morning where we departed for Chile.

Il y a un bar avec de la musique live à gauche. Impossible de dormis jusqu’à 3 h du matin le vendredi. Donc si vous allez là la fin de semaine avec des activités tôt le matin, ce n’est pas la place. Aussi dernier soir pas d’eau ni le matin avant de prendre l’avion. Déjeuner très moyen. Sur une note positive, bien situé et ils offrent des navettes et tours.

Check in rápido e antes do horário. Demoraram só para encontrar a minha reserva, mas logo foi solucionado. Fiquei em um quarto com 3 camas e banheiro privativo. O quarto fica em lado poente e esquenta muito no início da noite no verão. Sugiro ter algum ventilador nesta época do ano. O café da manhã é apenas pão, ovo e uma fruta. Eu havia lido aqui em outras avaliações que se cobrava o ovo frito à parte, mas não foi o que ocorreu na minha estadia. Até porque, como era apenas ovo, nem faria sentido cobrar à parte por isso. Minha estadia incluía o café-da-manhã, que consistia em uma cestinha de torradas, um pratinho de ovos fritos, uma fruta e café à vontade.

El Caldate Hostel sobrevendió sus habitaciones y nos envió a otro hostal de pobrísima calidad. Apenas cabíamos en el cuarto. La experiencia fue tan mala que nos fuimos de El Calafate antes de tiempo. Quedamos muy insatisfechos con el hotel y la experiencia. Trataron de pasar el costo a la segunda habitación y no tenía nada de valor para cobrar ese precio. Solicito un crédito por esta pésima experiencia.

O Hostel fica super bem localizado, perto da avenida principal. Os lençóis estavam limpos e tudo bem organizado, quarto com temperatura agradável e chuveiro quente,para um hostel, estava tudo ok!

Muy bien lugar, hubo un problema con la reserva pero nos solucionaron inmediatamente. El staff muy colaborador y atento, nos ayudaron con tips para los planes en Calafate.
