The desk person was very helpful and was very nice!

Comfortable, clean, marginal breakfast selections.

Toilet had feces in there. It was not flushed.

It was most affordable in the area but the hotel was really old. Beds were not comfortable.

Manager went above and beyond for accomodating us. Looked like all newly redecoated and beds were excellent. Highly recommend.

I booked online. Before going in I drove around to check it out. When I went in the gentleman mentioned that he noticed I drove around. This gave me a sense of security. The room was clean. NO BED BUGS! Linen and towels were clean. Waffles, bagel, cereal, fruit, toast, muffins, juice, and milk for breakfast. Fantastic price! Honestly, one of my best hotel stays. I highly recommend this location! Thank you! 😊

I checked in a little late, and the person who served me at the desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. The breakfast was meh, but I'm fussy about my food. If you don't like waffles, McDonald's is next door. It was a good place to stay for the price.

The property was clean and the beds comfortable but it was generally run down and seedy.

I always rate hotels by the price we pay for a one night stay. I don't expect a $500 room for $50. That said, this room was worth considerably more than we paid for it. Large, three beds, A/C blew cold, large TV and fast internet. Down sides, the grounds of the hotel are on the trashy side and the included breakfast really isnt worth waking up early for. That said, we'd definitely stay here again.

Clean room and comfortable bed. The desk clerk was friendly and courteous. The shower head was geared toward people much shorter that me (I'm 5'7"), but the spray was strong and the water was warm.

Great place to stay for a few days while our house was being worked on! Excellent staff and cleanliness!!!! It's a bit in the older side, but well maintained. Overall i give it 8.5/10!! Will definitely stay again!!

Wonderful staff very friendly. Shower and toilet are really low but manageable. Clean rooms and bathrooms , comfortable beds and nice and quiet . If I’m ever passing through again I will definitely stop off here .

Very pleasant budget stay

We will try to stay here again the next time we travel. This is an old motel that very caring and hard working owners have turned into a comfortable, solid option. The beds were very comfortable, and the pillows were plentiful and fluffy. I slept better than I have at most places. The room needed some repairs, but it was absolutely spotless and well supplied. As I sat in the very simple lobby with my morning coffee (breakfast is simple, but varied), other guests said very complimentary things to the owners. I clearly wasn’t the only one who noticed the quality of the service. Please note that the place is old. It needs renovation. But I was happy to patronize these hard working owners. I wish them the very best in their endeavor.

Seems this hotel is older but for $58 it was as nice as hotels l've stayed in for twice as much. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the normal fare ( not much ,waffles, fruit, cereals and muffins), but l was ok with that. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. I am perfectly happy with my stay and would stay here again.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, nice size and had good lighting. The towel were soft and absorbent and pillows were big and fluffy. Would stay there again.

The owners were so kind and accommodating. We stayed after a local sheep show. They had a safe place to park our trailer and offered water for our livestock. Would recommend this place for anyone needing a simple place to stay.

Not the room I booked. I booked a king bed. Got to the room and it had two double beds and a full bed

only problem was bright lights from Caseys store next door, had to place rolled up towel at bottom of window to help block out light. I stayed here before, quiet peaceful, no problems. friendly staff.

Hot showers, for an older hotel this place is well kept

The owner of the property greeted me and checked me in. He was super nice and friendly. The Motel is super clean and organized for comfort and convenience. It was super easy to book another night while I was there. The room was well-appointed and had some new remodeling. The TV is on Dish Network. There was a simple but filling breakfast from 6-9 am that was clean, efficient, and inviting. When I go back to Fort Scott I will stay there again without hesitation.

OK if you want to save a buck

Guy told me he is the new manager and was very nice and friendly. The outside of the hotel looks like a dump. The inside is considerably better. The floors are of engineered wood, which is good because it is probably cleaner that carpet. However, I could hear movement and such from the floor above me and beside me, and I am sure at least in part, this is because they replaced the carpet with this engineered flooring. The room was small. There is no closet or suitcase jack. There was a rack on the wall over a chair where you can hang clothes. That rack is old, looks like it is about to fall off the wall, has like corrosion on it, and is hard to get clothes on and off of it. Very small and low toilet. At least they make an effort to serve breakfast, but it is very poor. Coffee is not good. There is a McDonalds literally in the parking lot, so if you wish to spend a few dollars, you can get a decent breakfast there. They appear to have new air conditioner / heat units, but I found it to be slightly loud, and it cycled a lot. Really, not a bad stay for the money, but it would make it better if they made the outside look less like a dump.

A hotel where they are putting money in to keep it up. Service was fantastic and the breakfast was plentiful with a great variety to choose from. Next to McDonalds, Taco Bell and other fast food chains. Close to Walmart if you forgot something on you trip. Just don't rely on you GPS if you want Pizza Hut. I drove 20 miles and the building was vacant/for lease! A nearby Convenient Mart had Simple Simon individual pizzas and the one I had was very good. They also hve a Dominos in town. I enjoyed my stay here and would stay again if I pass this way on my way back home. They are hard working, polite people that want your stay to be perfect.

They are currently remodeling. My room the main room was clean. The bathroom was clean but the room above ours had a water leak of some kind. Possibly the toilet. Another tenant was a pot smoker and the hall was filled with the smell of POT. The front lobby smelled of it too. There were about 12 mattress stacked at the back of the building outside. With the rains in the area that will begin to stink soon. Im sure it will be nice in a another year.

Absolutely horrible motel, drug infested area. Room stunk like mold and old carpet, there was no carpet. There was a lady above the door asking if I had a door key. We left and found a better hotel.

Cheap, last minute stay .

Low cost room, last minute stay ..room was outdated, but comfortable and clean. Halls had a funky smell but the room was fresh. Toiletries looked like they were used and refilled...seals were broken.

For the price the room was excellent. Breakfast wasn’t very impressive but again for the price it was okay.

Good value for the price

We had a clean and comfortable stay at a very affordable price. The staff members were kind. We didn't eat the breakfast due to late departure, but it looked like they had good breakfast options (waffles, etc.). Although it's not fancy, it's a good value for s simple overnight.

I liked the room because it was clean and in good shape. the bed was nice with a good mattress topper for added softness. Pillows nice and firm. Bathroom was very clean, no problems. Will stay there again.

Budgetel Inn is your home away from home!

The manager and the staff at the Budgetel were extremely kind and welcoming! It's probably the best 'home' away from home you'll ever find! I found my room and the entire facility very clean! The location couldn't be better! It's between a McDonald's and a Casey's, and across the street from Walgreens. Walmart is one stop light away! The structure reminds me of a 1980's or 1990's something Super 8. It's been pretty well maintained. The manager mentioned he has been working there only four months - but I assure you he is working HARD to bring it back to it's former glory! My room was a pretty standard motel room. Everything was very clean - yes, even the microwave! My room had the most lighting of any motel I have ever stayed! I loved that! The refrigerator was a nice size and clean. The heater / air conditioner appeared to be a newer unit and worked perfectly! The mattress set was an innerspring mattress, but it was comfortable. The Vellux like blanket between the top sheet and the bed spread kept me toasty warm! Dish TV was a bonus! The continental breakfast is tasty, but carb heavy, like many other motels. Pair a waffle (or two) with a Jimmy Dean Breakfast Bowl (from Walmart), warmed up in your microwave oven! Now that's a tasty breakfast to start your day! The Budgetel is the perfect place to stay in Fort Scott, if you don't want or need all of the frills - and your stay won't break the bank! I'll be staying there again later this week!

It was really nice. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was really clean as well as the mattress was really comfy. I’ll definitely book again when I am back in fort Scott!

Amazing Stay

This place exceeded my expectations! The room was very spacious which was a plus for my toddler who loves to explore. The bed was very comfortable, everything was in working & nice condition. The management/staff was extremely accommodating & friendly. By far, the best experience I’ve had in this price range while staying in SEK.

Basic and needs upgrades and the problems fixed.

Our TV in our room was not working with the dish network, it kept saying we needed to take the SIM card out, which we did 4 times during 1 movie and gave up. The lady at the front desk came and re-set it once, it did not help, and due to the language barrier, we did not complain about it again. The dead bolt on the door did not work, so all we had was the chain to lock the door. The ice machine was broken, and our room was by the stairs, so we listened to people/kids RUN down the stairs all hours of the night. The beds were not comfortable either. Was there on business, so we watched our phones at night and slept and then left all day.

The actual room that my husband and I booked was actually on the second floor. When we got there the owner/worker notice that I walked with a limp and a cane. He automatically gave us a room on the bottom floor which was very much appreciated. We did not ask him to move us. He just automatically did. Everyone was very nice. The Hotel did have some cosmetic problems. They were things propped up against the outside walls and in the hallway. There were scratches in the woodwork and some holes in the plaster behind the room door. But the room was clean and comfortable and that's what really mattered to me. It was a nice stay.

Ashamed of Hotels.com. I have been a good customer

Hotels.com should be ashamed of themselves for exaggerating the rating on this place. I accepted a non refundable rate because I trusted this site because I’ve used them in the past. After I pulled in and noticed the tweaker relieving himself in the parking lot and the two hookers sitting there sitting at a portable table outside the door, I noticed how run down the property is! It was a straight up crackhouse and I would never stay! I want a refund and I will be very Leary in the future of non-refundable. There is usually a reason.

Awful Smell

The room was filthy and smelled awful. The AC leaked inside the room. I had to go across the street to get air freshener to cover up the awful mildew smell. Didn’t even stay overnight due to the smell.

fine stay

motel is fine for short stay. It is dated but clean. Bed and pillows comfortable. Nice shower. Wifi worked well. Location in the heart of lots of fast food.

It was clean. Even though there was road workers staying there it was quiet. It met our needs.
