Very dirty had to clean the walls bathroom floors were black I bought a mop and washed the floors my self I was there for 3 weeks and was kick out woman up front is very rude and inconsiderate

Great location and affordable, but rundown

Definitely has cleanliness issues and is a bit rundown, but for an affordable place near lots of convenient location (stores, food, local university) it worked well for me.

Cleanliness is a major issue here. Dust is everywhere. Often sinks are clogged and you have to ask for cleaning, which they should do after previous guests left and new are to come

For the price it was excellent. Quiet. Very quiet and private. Located near a state park and beautiful scenery

When I checked in on Saturday night, I was told there was no hot water until Monday. I chose not to stay.

Dirty

Cleanliness is a big issue there. Last time room #202 didn’t have hot water. Sink was clogged but they cleared it quickly. Hair is everywhere.

Holey Comforter

Bed conforter had multiple holes in it, ice machine was broken.

The air conditioner made a lot of noise. Difficult to sleep. All night long noisy and clanging. Also the towels were very old and worn out and felt like sand paper when drying off. Terrible evening

The staff was very friendly. The location was very close to downtown, which was where we wanted to spend our time. Our reservation was for a Queen size bed but our bed was definitely a full size. My boyfriend is a big guy so it was difficult to get comfortable on the smaller bed.

The property was nice clean.Everything was great.

Place is cheap and you get what you pay for. I can say they didn't have roaches. That's the plus, other than the price. No blanket. We ended up buying alcohol and sprayed everything down.

This place is exactly what I needed. Inexpensive, clean and comfortable. The water was hot and the a/c was cold. There's a microwave and a refrigerator in the room with old movies on the television:)

I like the price of the room but they need to pay more attention to cleaning.

Everything was ok and had no problems. There is at least a dozen places to eat within a mile.

Find someplace else to stay

This place is horrible, the room is disgustingly dirty, you can hear the dirt crunching under your feet when you walk on the flood, I don't recommend not wearing shoes your feet will be black as coal, management is disgustingly rude, they do not clean the room unless you have checked out so you have to dump your own trash wash your own floors, you have to go to the office and get your towels from them or trash bags, flies and bugs was even a dead cockroach in room because there's cracks in the door, There was hair in the shower stall upon check-in, the bedsheets are disgusting dirty and all burn holes, the chair for the desk is worn, the toilet seat is disgusting, I don't know why anybody would wanna stay here, the room barely has hot water, no smoke or carbon monoxide detectors absolutely nothing nice to say about the place, oh and the kicker is if you complain management threatens to call the police on you, room was booked for two nights because but because it was so disgusting I wanted to leave called Hotels.com they talk to the management but management refused to refund my payment for the night so I had no choice but to stay in this disgusting room

Clean and kind people

Pretty low key, no nonsense, good value for the money.

I had stayed there before and loved it It was very clean and cozy This time it was dirty. The bathroom had mold, the towels were stained, no toilet paper Disappointing

You can choose non smoking & smoking room, some room can't receive wifi, the staff will change another room for us. Its ok for me.

I liked that my room was clean and that the staff was nice. I didn't like that some of the buttons on my TV remote control were hard to press and that there were two flies in my room.

Nice little motel, clean & friendly staff

The ice machine was non-functional. The WiFi was useable, but was cut off early, along with our room key on the day we were leaving.

While it is clean, room air conditioning didn't work very well. There should be coffee makers in the rooms.

Only one tv station. If there was Wi Fi, the room didn't note the code. The motel is a great value in comparison to other places to stay in the Hartford area.

Ok, but could be better.

Needed a room for business trip in area. Location is convenient to Middletown, CT. Provided no-frills at reasonable cost. Both stays had indication of missed towel in bathroom from previous person. Main concern is that the security lighting outside bleeds through the blackout curtains. The room seems recently updated, but some furniture is old and worn.

Staff was friendly and room was clean. The only problem was that curtains let too much light into room, with security lighting making it hard to sleep.

good price and friendly staff

The property fit everything I needed. The staff was a great help I had issues with times with my plane and they accommodated me even after I had caused a mistake while booking. The rooms were clean and ready, easily accessible, and hospitable I had no issues even with my disability getting a room best for me.

I knew this was going to be a budget motel. What I didn't know was that the (sand paper) towels and anything else was released very carefully. I booked for 3 people and when I went to get a third towel I was asked to return a dirty one in order to get a clean one. No ice bucket available, so there was a sign on the ice machine to not use the cups. (There was only 1-4 coffee cups next to the broken Keurig machine in the lobby at any given time. There was trash piled up next to the office. I found an open drink pouch stuck to the floor next to the bed between the bed and the wall and the floor was sticky. Raise your rates and provide a decent hotel room for the masses. I'm still checking for bed bugs.

The housekeeping still my clothes and my food and even my medications

Bed sheets where not even cleaned. Blood stain on them.. mattress was filthy and don't even get me started on the floors. The price is outrageous for how disgusting the room was. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The other room next to us was blasting music all music also..so yeah no never again!

It was expected for the price. Nice condition for age of motel. A/C constantly going on and off had me a little disturbed 😧

Walking distance to our event

Under outside renovation wasn’t sure if I should’ve stay but was pleasantly surprised. Check-in clerk was very nice. Maid service was fine and everyone I came in contact with were pleasant. I felt that they was glad to have my business

It was a good value for the price. Stayed here for the night after a wedding nearby and it was exactly what we needed. No frills - just a clean, safe place to stay without breaking the bank.

Have toothpaste and toothbrush available.

A very good value. Clean and nicely outfitted room with warm bed. TV was hard to turn on, but staff might have helped me if I'd asked, which I didn't. There's a microwave but no refrigerator or coffeemaker and no breakfast, but for the no-frills price that's fine with me. The Athenian Diner is nearby for a superb breakfast.

No frills hotel

It was pretty much exactly as you'd expect. It's a no frills hotel. My only complaint was that the heat was not on when we arrived so it was literally freezing inside. After an hour or so, the bed and floors were still very cold, but it was warming up slowly. There was also a stain on the mattress cover. Other than that, it got the job done.

The lady at fron desk was extremely rude when i arrived. Room was unbelievably filthy.Mould all through shower and on ceiling the a/c unot was so caked with scum i didnt darr turn it on. Peeling paint off walls and stains and the tiny towel was stained with who k m pws what. Booked for 2 nights checked out after first night and didnt even argue about a refund.NEVER STAY HERE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY.

One floor motel. Easy parking right near the room.

No cleaning during your stay. Unkind people, no trash pick up and when you stay 10 days that is very inconvenient.

Looked cheap and basic on Expedia; in reality it was shabbier than the photos made it look. Clean, and not unsafe, but if I were doing this again I'd pay more for something better.

Good Night's Rest!!!

There’s a need for updating; bedding, pillows and towels. There were cigarette holes in many of these items. A good thorough cleaning is needed. I wished they had a tub shower combo. The staff and owners are very pleasant. Overall I was satisfied.

Nice location, not so nice service

Sometimes my husband and i go here to spend time together because of circumstances, and it’s pretty convenient but they can be a bit rude and pushy. They called us twice to remind us about check out as if we didn’t already know. You should treat your guests kindly. I doubt this review will change anything anyway.

Horrible the guy at the desk charged me again for a room I told him I already paid for online and the floor was soaking wet from the bathroom to the bed and the staff was rude. It smelled bad in there I will never go there again

After making the reservation it was declared as a smoking room. The room left smoke smell on my luggage and clothes. It gave me a headache. I tried to check out early. The attendant did not understand English and even though I left a day early I was charged for three days. Unacceptable!

Dated but clean

You have to get buzzed into the office and then the person sits behind a window. Its not a terrible area so it was odd and made me feel less safe but I knew the area so I was ok. Otherwise its pretty much what you would expect for an inexpensive roadway motel. It was dated snd small but clean. I wouldn't be opposed to staying there again in a pinch.

The bedding was dirty, the towels weren't very clean. There were stains all over the walls. The bonus was a fridge and microwave, super convenient! It was close to the main road to get to the highway as well. Had issues with people from other rooms call the hotel phone or banging on the door at night.

I dont like the a/c is controlled all night not a/c sucks

The man behind the little window made me feel like I was checking into an ancient, gothic asylum instead of a motel. I requested an extra pillow and was given what felt like a piece of cardboard wrapped in a pillow case. I had to put three pillows together to make one and it still felt like I was sleeping on a flat rock. The neighbors next to me partyed till 3am and then got up at 5am slamming doors and yelling, etc. I would love to get my money back on this one. And this was the day after going to my wife's funeral home viewing. She recently passed away. Never again at this location will I ever stay.

No ice, just a very basic place to crash for a night

I wasn't expecting a grand room at such a lower price but I was dismayed by the on-off hot water situation in the shower and the lack of a basic amenity like face tissues. Also, I had reserved a room with a queen bed for $60 a night. The desk clerk, who had little command of English, took it upon himself to put us in a two-bed room that put an additional $15 on each night. Although we attempted to point this mistake out to him, we got nowhere in the language department and finally gave up. For that amount, we could have stayed elsewhere and under better conditions.I will say the room was clean and the beds comfortable but I would caution people to make certain they are not being overcharged.

While the hotel appeared clean and neat, we woke up during the night with bed bugs. Were planning on staying 2 nights, but checked out and received a refund for the second night.

Inexpensive: get what you pay for

Upon arrival hotel staff were polite but wanted payment even though I had already paid directly to Expedia. They reluctantly gave me a room key but kept my drivers license. Room small and not very clean with garbage on the floor by the bed and washroom not as clean as I would expect. Town close by is adorable with lovely places to eat. Would not opt to stay here again.

Very good experience. Recently renovated. Clean room. Everything worked. About 2.5 miles from Wesleyan campus, so a less than 10 min drive or an Uber that was about $9.

Cold Welcome

It’s a cheap motel. Don’t expect the room to be warm for you or little niceties like bottles of shampoo, etc. It was clean and relatively comfortable after the heat had a chance to kick in. It is small—our queen bed room had a bathroom with so little floor space it was hard to maneuver the door close or open when using the toilet. As to safety, it had a deadbolt, but none of the usual night locks common in hotels like a chain. Since it is in a rural area outside a well-to-do town, it’s not a major problem.

Extremely clean. Small mom and pop, but more than efficient. Small fridge, microwave in the room. Fine people and friendly. More willing to help than most places I have stayed.

I have stayed here several times. This particular time the owner (husband) was not very helpful to our needs. Asked for a late check out and denied (place was not even at half occupancy). Smoke detector was beeping and asked for a new battery and was instructed on how to remove the battery instead. (seriously?..). good for a cheap stay with minimal luxuries. No shampoo provided.

Thin walls, doors open to lot which is on major road so highway noise all night and early morning. It's old but clean. Bed was hard.

The hotel building is quite new, which adds to the cleanliness and comfort. the rooms are small but have everything you need for a short stay. the location is convenient next to major roads, easy to get almost anywhere in the area. despite of being right off a busy part of rt. 66, it was rather quiet. I did have some problems with the service: when i arrived around 3pm, the office was closed, with no signs on the door. A customer waiting in the car said "they will be back in 20 minutes". In the morning, when i wanted to check out, the office was closed again, with the sign "for any questions, find housekeeper on grounds". so i had to go around looking for a person to give the key to. still, definitely the best you can find in the area.
