The restaurant’s free breakfast buffet was really good. They served Asian and American style breakfast. Fresh fruit, green salad and pastries. We had dinner at the restaurant also. The quality of the food was great. We also had Halo-halo (mix-mix) Filipino dessert! It was good! We received 2 bottled water per night. The staff are really friendly and respectful. Always smiling and helpful. Approximately 16-20 mins ride from/to the airport but no free hotel shuttle. We did not get a chance to go swimming at their private beach and swimming pool because we did tours. All day long. Overall, the property was clean but the room was very musty. We will stay there again next time we’re in town.

Very to relax

I like that it was gated, it was hard getting large transportation (van/SUV) to fit my whole family but we made it work by taking 2 taxis. The Salt restaurant didn't have many of the items on the menu but they were nice enough to wave the corkage fee for my food delivery for this reason.

I booked 2 nights initially to see if I liked the area. I booked a standard room but was very disappointed with the mould odour as I entered. I rang reception and explained about the mould and I needed another cleaner smelling room. I was taken to 2 others on the same floor but all smelt of mould. And I explained this was detrimental to my health. I was then shown a room a few floors higher and I accepted this room. All staff members I dealt with were very courteous and pleasant and they were happy that they could help find the right room for me. I ended up extending my stay by another 4 nights. I mostly ate at the restaurant downstairs which was ok. Definitely choose an ocean view room on the upper level.

The Internet was fast and reliable, which I needed for work. All staff were smiley and very friendly

H was good experance

Our Stay at BE was a mixed bag. Overall staff was very friendly. Randy and Isha made us feel very welcome on our first night! Went downhill from there. We paid for 2 rooms and were promised breakfast. On our second morning a staff member confronted my wife that our 15 year old daughter would have to pay 350 pesos to eat. Very tacky. They charged us 250 pesos when we could not find our second room key! Lots of nickel and diming at this place. Did not feel good. Pool was nice. Lifeguard was super friendly. It is an average resort. Needs to be more customer friendly though around all the extra costs!

This place is really good for family with small children. It is safe, child friendly hotel.

The property is very old and dated. Rooms smell of that old 1970's dusty smell. Sign said we couldn't open balcony door to even get fresh air into the room. As per previous comments the walls are paper thin. Wanted a nice long sleep in after a long week at work. No chance. Cleaners were next door at 7am and we could hear every word of their conversation. I would not book again.

Staff was very friendly, accommodating & helpful. Room was clean. Breakfast buffet was excellent - a nice variety of local and continental fare. Resort was appropriate for the length of stay we had (2 nights). Beach area was small but well kept. The only suggestion I would make is to have 2 different menus for lunch & for dinner. Otherwise, good resort to stay in.

Food was expensive and not very good. They had a big party Christmas eve with blaring music that went until 11:00 and kept us awake all the way up on the 4th floor. Then Christmas night, they had a loud speaker for a movie on the beach, again blaring, that 10 people were watching. Maintenance was poor, esp. a maintenance room door that would bang open and slam closed due to wind every few minutes. There was no way to close it securely and the door am was broken apart. The stairs were white tiles and you could see everything on them, esp. all the long black hair. Disgusting.

Very basic property and the wifi is terrible. I would of rather stayed someone else for the money. Staff was very friendly but besides that, hotel is terrible.

The service was top notch and reception was very responsive to calls. The resort is lively with a lot of Korean weekend visitors. It is also party central - an 18th birthday on the beach on the first night and a school reunion in the daytime. A lively place in general. The building is somewhat acoustically challenging with doors slamming and staff talking on walkie talkies in the corridors. They are also in the process of fitting new electronic door locks which sound a loud alarm if not properly closed. Any light sleepers, or those seeking peace and quiet may want to consider other places, but it was fine for me. The menu at 'Salt' is somewhat limited and a little overpriced. The breakfast choice was great and I got addicted to the various bread puddings offered. The beach and water area is pleasant and contemporary, but smallish and quite artificial. All the staff were very engaging.

We had an ocean view room, but unfortunately you are not permitted to use the balcony in the room, and we overlooked the beachfront restaurant which had a live band playing untill 12:30pm which was very loud in our room. Not an enjoyable stay.

I liked the convenience for the airport and value. Nothing that I didn't like.

The rooms are a little noisy. I could hear the people in the room next to me.

Liked everything, the only thing I probably would suggest is may if they had a small schadet playarea for small children. Everthing else was great

Clean hotel with an ocean view.

Excellent! It was a good, clean hotel. The staffs are always helpful, friendly and smiling. We stayed three nights the first time on our way to Bantayan Island and ended up staying the second time for another three days since we were disappointed with Bantayan island and cut our trip short!

The breakfast doesn’t suit all tastes ,for example there’s nothing in the food for diet (brown bread )

Great place to stay. Would recommend for families. The staff are fantastic. Just want to say we booked with Expedia.ca. On your listing it shows continental breakfast included. To our surprise was a great buffet. Would definitely go back.

The resort had beautiful views and amazing staff. The biggest downside was just the noise. Every time someone enters or leaves their room you can hear the doors slam throughout the entire hall. If you’re a light sleeper it can be very disruptive.

Good food, excellent service just need new towels, wash cloth and hair dryer in rooms.

The rooms are big clean and tidy but not sound proof.the restaurant is quite expensive, the front desk does not follow instructions when you leave a message...

The breakfast sevice and supply is awful. Breakfast is served from 6am util 10 am. We arrived at 8 am and almost all of the food and drinks were gone. We were still able to get a couple eggs and some pandesal bread but the chicken, adobo, seafood pancit, salad bar, orange, mango, four seasons juice and many other items were just empty. My wife and I both asked about it and she just got laughter from the service employees. Pretty lame. The beach is also lacking. At low tide (ie half of the day) the entire swimming area is nothing but jagged rocks. We wound up purchasing a day pass to the Movenpick which is only a few hundred meters away where the swimming area was beautiful, both high and low tides, the food service there was amazing and the staff literally fell over themselves to make sure you were treated as a valued guest. In short, you get what you pay for. While Be Resorts was cheaper than other upscale resorts in the area the ambiance, sevice and attention to guest needs is nowhere close to what is standard at the comparable establishments on Mactan.

The pool views were amazing. Plenty of water sports very close by also.

Memorable stay at BE.

The stay was good, excellent customer service at the breakfast buffet, good job to Wella and team, very friendly and attention to details when doing the breakfast buffet. Rooms was tidy and room attendant was doing their job. Reception needs to be a little bit more friendly otherwise they are okay.

Clean and view

Communicating with them is difficult, lots of unanswered messages. Also the request for airport transfer was made several times but still was not picked up. I had to get a taxi going to the hotel. Staff were very friendly though. Food was good and rooms were clean. I did not appreciate being woken up early by the sound of clanking dishes, as it seems we have been out near the cleaning area for the room though.

i didnt like there key card its not functioning properly then they dont have blower for my hair. but all in all its fine...

Not as expected......

Great property...Great amenities.... Unfortunately my check in started with a bad note....over an hour to wait to check in. Was told only 20mins to wait...then waited for 1+hrs. When I question the delay they gave you a lame reason that check in is at 2pm!!!! Then don't tell your guest to wait 20mins. No welcome drink which is odd but not so important...but for a resort not a business hotel or eco hotel, I expected a better welcoming environment. I had to buy my own refreshments while I wait for over an hour. Bathroom only looks nice. Bathroom needs maintenance. Need to redesign it. Water will over flow to the bathroom floors by the sink and toilet area. Tub was uneven. Prone to accidental especially if you step out of your shower.....more riskier as the floor will be we're because water will overflow.... Someone from the staff or management need to experience this themselves. Try room 327.

Hotel staff were very nice. Food was ok. It was very reasonable price so we didn’t expect much but pools were small and beach/sea were dirty (plastic garbages floating) I wish they put a little bit more effort to clean. It was still under construction but that didn’t bother us much. What bothered us was night time karaoke that we could hear in the room...it was hard to put kids to sleep.

Overnight stay

Quiet a drive but its worth it. Some areas like the lobby and restaurant are still under renovation but staff are trying their best to accommodate the guests. Not much choices for foods but they are good. Guest room is comfortable with big beds and good working condition AC. No hair blower.The resort is beautiful and family friendly. The view is stunning. Airport shuttle is available .

There was a strong chemical smell. Toilet water was dripping on the stairs or it smelled like toilet water. The carpet was a bit stinky and looked very old. Would have been nice if the facility was just maintained

This was an excellent retreat after 24 days island hopping around the Philippines .. it has great facilities and is 15 min taxi to the airport . yes at the time i was there it is undergoing some construction and upgrading ..however if you look at the actual work being undertaken you can see its only going to get better as a resort ! that can only be a good thing for the future of this place .. Many thanks for your great hospitality ....

Nice beach front hotel resort

It was a relaxing stay as it was not crowded maybe due to renovation works going on. But it would really become a very good hotel resort once the renovation works are completed. Not really a big resort but the ambience and overall stay is really satisfactory.

Best breakfast we had in Philippines...

We stayed on the fifth floor and had a lovely room with a view of the beach and pool. This was our last stop after a long, tiring journey and it was a great place to just relax. Amazing breakfast buffet...best during my journey through the Philippines. Good mix of locals d western options. All staff were courteous and friendly. Our group had to leave early on our last day and the staff were so kind to prepare a takeaway breakfast with little notice and it was delicious! We were very grateful. Only downside was construction going on in hotel but I suppose it has to happen some time to keep the place looking nice. Overall I was very pleased with it stay. Thank you!

Close to beach

Hotel under construction and no WiFi. I took a long working vacation. I was promised internet. I had to use roam data that cost me over 500.00. I believe I should be refunded for my additional cost at this miserable place for 2 weeks.

Great spot

Even though the Hotel was under renovation and I got food poisoning from some bad shrimp, I would still rate my stay as excellent as the service was outstanding. And my view from the room was incredible. Can't wait to go again. All of you guys keep up the great work and great attitudes. Thank you.

Still needs work

Rooms were upgraded this time from when I stayed last year yet some things still need fixing (i.e., warmer water, working faucets). Still a lot of construction around but with usable facilities — they should have just closed the entire place until all construction is done. Breakfast food selection is average (or maybe below average). Staff was great though.

Disappointed

The hotel closed the pool and we cant use it. Its so disappointing . plus the fact the mineral water is not clean the hot water is brown so my tita git an upset stomach because of that.

Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is undergoing renovations so the pool and lobby were unavailable. The walkway heading to the beach was being renovated too so there were materials blocking the walk way (and you had to talk around it). The view from the room wasnt pretty either given the construction and the safety net blocking the view. the breakfast is dissapointing.

Our stay is great!

Overall is good considering the condition of the hotel that was under renovation, it more room for improvement. Only comment was our room has very slow signal for WiFi. I have to use restaurant WiFi to use internet!

Renovations going on until 31 Jan 2018

I was unable to see the notice that the hotel is renovating. So, I was very disappointed to find out that it was not as nice as in the pics when this was supposed to be a surprise birthday gift for someone who has never stayed at a resort. Breakfast at P600++ was really not worth it as the food selection was all too simple. The pool was out due to the renovation, but the access to the pool was not also nice. Being that this is a famous resort, you would expect that the only attraction they have in the resort would have evident efforts to make all frequented spots to have very pleasing view. Since construction was in full force, there were a lot of construction workers, on that day of our stay we went swimming at the beach, a few of them hung out at the breakwater on the Chateau side at around 6p, some of them were screaming profanities in the dialect at the other resort and horsing around. When they left after the bell rung, was curious what was on that side, coz the other side is a high end resort, Abaca, so we checked it out, I felt really small. It was demeaning enough for us to hear the profanities, but even more demeaning was that a wedding was being held at the Chateau. The make shift check in counter was also very dark and at the time that I was checking out, I saw a big chicken bone being carried by an army of ants across the room floor. I usually rate hotels well, but overall, my stay at BE was the least pleasant.

I was not informed that the hotel is under renovation before letting me to proceed booking. I stayed because I have no choice.

Hotel undergoing renovation

The hotel itself is currently undergoing renovation, not some other structures nearby. The infinity pool is not available yet due to construction. Buffet breakfast is nothing to hype about. Room-service menu needs some expansion. There is no in-house or out-call massage available. The shower lever integrates with the thermostat, so you only get either a weak cold stream or a strong hot stream. The lever cannot be operated when you have soap in your hands.

Failure to mention ongoing renovation.

The resort was under total construction. Pool was closed as was many areas of the hotel. The construction noise was also problem. I'm very disappointed that Expedia would list a hotel or resort without knowledge of these circumstances. At a greater expense we were forced to move to another resort.

BUYER BEWARE !!!! Hotel in major renovation phase.

We arrived at the Be Resorts expecting to see an elegant resort with high end resort pools that was pictured and advertised on their website. To our surprise and disappointment, all we saw was a hotel that was in full renovation phase. Also, when we booked our room, it stated that it was with a view, our window faced the side of the building. What kind of view is that ? We had to ask for another room with a real view of the ocean. None of the pools pictured on their website was even close to being finished. The beach access was full of gravel and green seaweed like plants that made it undesirable for anyone to want to swim in.

Hotel is under renovation, Pool not available. 50% in all rooms. Queen beds are comfortable, room is spacious, hot shower not that hot, love the native longganisa for breakfast. Overall stay is pleasing.

Major rennovation

The website didn’t tell us that they are undergoing a major rennovation that most of the facilities couldn’t be used. I didn’t think i got the value of what I paid for. The food wasn’t as Great as I remembered as everything is bland. Room is spaceous and clean but it would have been nice if there was a warning in the website rather than beig surprised when we got to the hotel that they almost tore everything off

Hotel under renovation

Nice Hotel close to the beach but currently under renovation. No swimming pool. Designated smoking area is too far from the hotel. Drilling noise on the first day starts at 7:30 am. We woke up by the drilling.

Perfect Retreat !

Not-so-good because ............. the hotel was undergoing major renovation of its exteriors, the pool area, some of rooms, the reception and dining areas ! And this condition was not disclosed to clients BEFORE the reservations were made !! That is unprofessional and unfair. Although the gentleman who handled my check-in asked me if I would like to 'cancel my reservation and I would be given a full refund. Now he tells me ! The good thing (yes, there were 2 sides to this 'coin') - the hotel premises were devoid of other guests, ensuring peace and quiet, your choice of dining table and your place in the small beach area !

Will be nice once renovations are complete

The title says it all, we had no idea that major reno was under way. Staff were excellent, bed especially comfortable but facilities were so-so due to works. We will probably stay again but not in the next year or so.

Don't waste your money

First of all the staff were excellent,and then it went downhill from there, the resort is old and run down although they are doing renovations to the place it will still be just a 2 star at best. The food was like take away standard and for all of our stay (10 nights) breakfast was always cold and our so called hot water was lukewarm a best, the outdoor areas have absolutely no lawn and only a few palm trees which makes this place incredibly hot with the heat reflecting of the crushed up coral stone which they call sand. The owners of the resort should spend a week at the Maribago Bluewater resort or the Shangri La resort to see how it's done.

Terrible Experience

Our experience was a good example of "expectation vs reality". We had "BE chic" room & it was clean and spacious; we had a good stay not until when we took a bath in the shower room, it was too hot, we asked for assistance in their engineering dept but it was not fixed, they didnt even offer anything so we ended up taking a hot shower. We were unable to connect with their wifi and it was fixed after 8 hours "11am" and we're about to leave during that time. One more thing, they didn't bathrobe, neither free slippers complimentary food & drinks inside the ref. It was a whole terrible experience.

Nice Hotel but staff are incompetent.

Good decorations and confortable rooms. Staff at the desk are friendly but incompetent, several times I needed to ask for certain things more than twice. "They'll say yes sir and give you a big smile, but as soon as you turn your back they suddenly develop amnesia and I have to start the process again.

Best value hotel in Mactan

Hotel is planning to undergo major renovation, but the rooms are still well appointed. Beds are comfortable, sheets, towels, linens are clean. WIFI is VERY POOR - you can hardly get a connection. Staff is amazing. I requested for extra pillows and towels and less than 2 minutes they delivered it no questions, no charges. Beach and pool are both nice. The lobby is big and wide with many chairs and sofa to sit on but it's open air (read: no air condition) so it's really hot and humid. Checkin and checkout is very quick. I will stay here again.

Family trip

Overall good experience. The only eating place is the restaurant in the hotel, so quite expensive. Luckily we managed to explore the nearby malls in Mactan using uber.

Old & Worn Out

After booking, I communicated with hotel directly to arrange for airport transfers. No reply to my email. I had to call long distance to make arrangements. Although it said that the hotel was being renovated, the upkeep and overall cleanliness could have been better. The furniture were worn out, bathroom tiles were dirty, lighting fixtures were crooked, the corrider smelled like a sewer, etc. The front desk staff were friendly but when we were requesting a late check out since out return flight wasn't until 4pm, they wouldn't budge. When we said that we needed out airport transfers upon their check out time, they realized that they didn't have a vehicle at that time and allowed us to check out late anyway. Decided to just leave and get a cab. Also, we were being charged for bottled water because they only give complementary water upon arrival. For a hotel that's being renovated, I would expect more concessions from the management.

extremely dirty with cockroaches on toilets,dirty

Terrible experience from checking in, room was not expected, cockroaches on toilet, fruit flies on tables, linens and bedsheets are extremely blackened and dirty, dusty floors. They upgrade us in a room but same condition, we end up talking to the manager and he saw the videos and photos of how dirty it was, He told us he will refund us in full. We end up looking for another available hotel nearby, it was a terrible experience!!!

Not worth the money

They have a notice about remodeling which was supposed to end at 6pm but was still happening at 8:30 pm. There was something wrong with the key reader on my door and eveytime I left I had to go back to the front desk and get my keys reset. They even had to send the locksmith once while I waited in my wet clothes from the pool. Food quality was poor.

I would never stay there again

Daily I had to make calls asking for face cloths to be supplied to the room. The answer I got from the front desk was that they used an outside laundry service, as if that justified shorting my room clean towels. For the first few days I was there, I had to make daily calls asking that bottle water be resupplied. The answer I got was they only do that on the first day after that I had to pay 50 pesos, one dollar. I never had to pay but it was annoying that the hotel wanted to charge me and that they would argue the point. Every day was a first day to me, I got no discount. I paid the same daily rate. I told them I expected water to be resupplied and they did, but I had to be forceful about it. The elevator always smelled of urine. The room had a small TV. It worked, but I did not find it worth watching. The clothes dresser for the room may have been moved out into the hall as a stand for a vase. My room had none. There was a standup box in the corner of the room with two drawers and four hangers. I pilled my dirty clothes in the bottom of it. I sent two pair of jeans out to be laundered. They came back three days later and they looked as if they had been washed in hot water, not pressed, just folded. I never put my clothes in the laundry again. Couldn't trust it. I was in a cab leaving the last day after I had checked out. They would not my taxi exit the hotel gates until they inspected my room. Seriously! The hotel staff is not fluent in English.

Expensive for its quality. Poor and dirty

We were shocked right at the entrance, very dirty neighborhood, we were first given a room where they started renovation . The room and corridors stink. We asked to change the room and were told to wait until they check with the supervisor. We went to the pool and came back after 3 hours. We were asked to wait for 10 min, we ended up waiting for more than 70 minutes until they finally gave us another room. The private beach look dirty and not maintained, we did not even venture to get in. The breakfast buffet is acceptable, but less than what you expect for the price you paid ( at least for us ). Nothing for the kids, except the pool. Staff were good and helpful, but anything else is not recommended.

A little tired

Nice location, however the resort is a little run down in various areas. Breakfast was served in a function room with few windows.

Pool resort instead of beach resort

What is a thing that when you go to a beach resort, looking forward to bath the ocean water . Nobody did that except I was the only one who did that while most of the people are at the pool due to a lot of seaweeds and a huge purple jellyfish floating along the shore.Thanks to the security guard who guided & watched over me to stay on the side at the edge of the property because that the only spot that is clear even though I'm not an expert swimmer. He stayed inspite the weather was humid, warm & cloud. Later I thank & rewarded him for a very good service. 4'th floor hallway has a smelly like septic tank,they opened the hallway window. You have to ask for a kettle, coffee & cups due to not avail at the room & it took awhile. Dresser chair has a crack back, I immediately informed the front desk & was replaced. I suggest the best way to clean up debris by the shore is during low tide 'coz it's easy.

Could have been better

Pool & beach area look great, but the rooms felt a bit cramped. Facilities need a bit more maintenance too, there were a couple of broken fixtures in the bathroom when we stayed.

chic boutique hotel

i love the lobby and room interior. the pool and the beach area are well maintained also.

This hotel should only have 3 stars. Room floor tiles need to be cleaned and polished; replace its grout. Needs a bigger refrigerator. Non-smoking signs should be posted on designated areas.

Value for money

I wanted a hotel with a pool right beside the beach. I was very happy to find BE Resort at S$120/nite. The room was clean and nice with 2 Queen size bed.

the hotel is nice. I think I just got the bad room as the AC is not really working and so many mosquitoes.

front desk not so helpful, lobby is ok needs furniture update new design. The outdoor bar is lousy .should have a grill or barbeque where we can see food being cooked plus a better utilization of the ocean view. Not taking advantage of prime real estate. Beach area ok but needs improvements ex,umbrellas better lounge chairs tables , maybe equipment rentals etc

hated this place

Hotel needs a serious overhaul! I reserved for 2 nights but checked out the next day. Here are our issues 1) hotel infested with flies (everywhere) 2) paint the place please. It may look nice on pictures but when there it looks like Motel 6 3) beach area is dirty 4) the breakfast buffet is held in a dungeon and the eating area was littered with flies! It was disgusting!
