Beautiful and cosy
Such lovely staff/family. Always made you feel welcome and comfortable. The traditional feeling of Samoa was evident without staying in a Faile. The best spot for relaxation, and to swim or kayaks with turtles. I'll cherish my time here, thanks to Anna and her family.
Nice location, not so good accomodation
For starters, everywhere in Samoa you overpay accommodation for what it provides. As this is also true for Bayview, it still is way cheaper compared to other 'resorts' in the same area. That being said, you don't get what you pay for. The bungalows are old and not well maintained, don't try the cocktails at the bar or the restaurant. The 'beach' is not really a beach, just white sand in between the bungalows, the lava pool is not accessible and the bay isn't great for swimming. Breakfast was pretty good and the views from the decks are nice, location is great as it is close to other nice beaches and Lava fields. I would come here again just to sleep and have breakfast as it was cheaper than alternatives but would actually prefer a fale on a nice beach compared to these bungalows.
Very basic accommodation, no beach.
Friendly staff, clean beds, but rather run down. AC ok but no hot water.
The loveliest people we've ever met
Our holiday at Bayview resort was magical. The location is beautiful, the weather was fantastic but it was the absolutely amazing staff who made our recent nine night stay a truly unique and memorable time. We enjoyed every moment and will return again next year. If you're looking for impersonal and polished Bayview might not be for you, but if you want a real experience with the most generous and genuine people in the world - then we can't recommend Bayview highly enough.
Need to be renovated
Rooms have to rebuilt completly. Grass is growing up in the sink. no hotwater in all rooms. no remote control for the AC. You have to ask the staff to swich on the AC. No activities. They just propose 3 Kayaks with 2 paddles and one of them sink. No wifi. No fresh water pool.
A real bay view at this hotel in Saleaula Savaii
We arrived late and checked in. Fortunately, there were others who also arrived to check into their rooms. Rooms were spacious and had all the amenities and necessities. It was nice to have a verandah where we could sit and enjoy the scenery.
I was so unimpressed that I didn’t stay!
Perhaps it is unfair to review Bayview as I didn’t stay there but it looked so awful when I checked in that I had to find somewhere else, even though I had already booked and paid. The room didn’t look anything like as nice as the photos on the website. It must have been bad to make me find somewhere else and pay a second time (and more per night to have more comfort). The room (a standard air-con bungalow) and bathroom were basic and backpacker’ish, didn’t seem all that clean and there was no hot water. The black hair on the bar of soap in the bathroom clinched the decision for me. Also, there was no wi-fi although this was supposed to be available according to the information I was given when I booked (I knew it wasn’t free though).
Excellent Kayaking
In the middle of a lava field, stands an oasis called Bayview Resort. Fairly new, and continuing to expand (March 2015) but that does not take away from a great place to have fun and relax. A surprise when you step in the waters of the lagoon awaits you. A chill from the cold water will shock you at first, but as soon as you go deeper, the water becomes warm. Top half cold, bottom half warm, adjust your stance to your desire. Free kayaking. Was told that we could see an occasional turtle, but we didn't see one. Across the lagoon is another strip of land that was recommended for a visit, but we didn't have a chance to do that visit either. Next time for sure.
Great stay due to exceptional staff
Positives: Genuine staff, great location Negative: Undercooked chicken although not charged, Mattress instead of single bed, Short water outages Honestly the staff (especially Janice) made up for where it lacked, and I would stay again
accomodation ok, but empty
We have spent 4 nights at Bayview Resort. Staff was very friendly, they helped us with everything. The problem was that it was just us there and maybe 2 other units were occupied. It was mid August. The atmosphere was not there for this reason. The bay is ok, nice swimming, very easy to see turtles. Not that good for small kids as there is basically no beach, you go directly to the water. For this reason we were going to Manase beach, 5 mins drive by car, taxi will cost you 10 Tala one way - no problem at all.

Nice hotel near the beach is the only thing that is good. Inexperience staff with minimum English. Not happy with the lack of responsibility taken when checking in. Need to update their policies re-check in.
