Very few services staff . No response to customer calls and demands . The price is over rated compared to facilities
Great service, and friendly staff
I've been visiting this resort for many years since it was known as Millennium Mussanah Resort. The Hotel needs to be refurbished, the furniture is out of date and needs to be changed, Ceiling works to be done, AC to be changed/serviced...
The facilities and the bar was amazing, hospitality was great on the whole, thoroughly would recommend this for a beach holiday.
Amazing second visit and will visit again… Lots to do with children and relaxing resort
Good 👍
Very pleasant place from activities to pools.. 5 star kids loved it.. Essen really helped the kids play the badminton and zip like really appreciate his help. Also reception staff amazing.. breakfast and food all amazing
Excellent service and facilities!
Thanks to Darren the new manager we are beginning to see improvements and he listens to the customers and try to help where he can. We wish him all the best
The main advantage of this hotel is , it is next to Arabian sea with excellant beach .....a good destination for few days relaxation .
Excellent hotel and staff!
This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The hotel is beautiful. The staff are super helpful. A big shout out to Lucy in the buffet restaurant and the waiter from Mumbai (sorry I have forgotten your name). They both went out of their way to make sure we had everything. The waiter went out of his way to find my friend a particular sweet she had asked for. I must say thank you to the staff in the spa who also went out of their way to help. We took the inclusive package which was amazing value for money. I will be back to this hotel. Excellent all round experience. Thank you.
Excellent Resort!
Great Resort with lot of activities. Amazing food. Chef Mr. Reddy is amazing and the food was excellent with lot of varieties. Loved. Thank you Barcelo Resort team for the great hospitality. Love this Resort. Special thanks to Mr. Reddy for the courtesy he extended during our stay.
-
fantastic hotel and service ,
Pleasant stay
Nice location, good care, recommended.
We booked 2 adults and 2 children. But hotel database show only 2 adults
BARCELO - BEST OF LUCK
I will not say that i will not visit the place again, yes i will come. The bed was not comfortable kept making creeping sounds and one side probably it was damage it was low. No towels kept and had to call. The response of the staff to attend my request was too bad as i had to remind them at least 3 times and it took almost 45 minutes to attend me. The attitude and manner of a welcoming staff to the guests was so rude, lacked hospitality that he had no respect even for a lady guest arriving to the hotel. No politeness nor he showed any welcoming gestures to the guests. Also when came to check out the systems were not update as i had to pay extra. I had to remind them that i had used some facilities. I would had left without paying but my conscience and guilt. So i had to wait until they updated their system. Overall not a good experience
The resort is located at a magnificent area but as it seems the full building needs a rennovation over it as well the rooms as the lobby was very neat and great but the corridors on the 3rd floor was very old and you can see some water bubbles on the walls and ceilings of the way. In the room there was a big stain of rust leakeage under the sink, bed mattress was filled with dust as beneth the bed too, the curtains smelled bad and filled with dust, the baby crade provided was ver ugly as we did not use it and returened it back to the resort on site once located. The bed was so old that it was making noise every time we move little on it and the sofa was dusty as well the dining table…all this needs to be considered for rennovation…on the other hand we enjoyed the activities and the facility itself very good experience for location, activities and food. Hope this could be fixed as it is considered 4 star whwre the room is only 2.5 star
Awesome stay
Amazing experience staying in the hotel
Overall good
It is good place for Family, Reception is welcome staff, nice pool, nice kids area But I believe some of furniture needed a maintenance, TV not working in my room, In Breakfast area the staff were not a professional attitude
A place to run away from busy life
Good place to stay; housekeeping is good service ; quick response ; reception helpful as well ; breakfast at restaurant was good 😊 ; price can be cheaper to attract longer stay!
Excellent hotel with stunning location and private beach. Clean rooms and polite staff. Due to the pandemic, all activities were closed except for the beach which was more than enough. Restaurant was closed but room service was available. Wifi fast and strong all over the property, even on the beach!! Hardly an hour's drive from Muscat. All in all a great option for a quick weekend getaway.

Situated in a nice area, you can have all the rest and relax you need, but if you want to do a visit to the capital Muscat, no public transport only private.
I liked the size of the apartment, it was really huge and great value for money. I didn’t like the lack of activities to do at night as there was no entertainment and it was a tad boring.
The room was not cleaned as it should be, this hotel should be rated 2star only There was no enough water on the room to make at least cup of tee toilet was dirty and the towels so old need to be changed I have booked room included breakfast, Unfortunately there was no service at all for the restaurant even there was no plates at the table for restaurant iwill give it 2 iut of 10. The out side fesility good as a view , the said kids clubs unfortunately this can not be as kids club
We had extremely great experience Super friendly staff and helpful We forgot some clothes in the wardrobe and realised only when we left for Muscat They found it and sent it the same day by courier for free to our hotel in Muscat. We really appreciate it! Thanks a lot
Relaxing Place
Very nice and quiet resort. The breakfast selection could be better but the coffee is great!
Lovely location in Oman
The hotel and staff were very good. It was great for our kids with so many activities for them, especially the aqua fun and zip wire that were included in the price.
The staff are amazing and welcoming from all the dining room staff to the managers Debbie and Dermot, we will be making sure our family and friends know about it and we will be back.
Great stay! Will visit again.
Relaxing atmosphere, beautiful view, great staff and probably the best Pizza outside of Italy!
conveniently located off the sohar - muscat highway, al la carte menu limited and little expensive
Family fun
Perfect hotel for kids and fun loving adults. So many activities on property for all ages. Buffet meals were delicious and great way to feed hungry kids very quickly with a healthy meal
It was great stay at Millennium Resort with amazing entertainment specially for kids. I would recommend to friends for stay one night.. it’s worth staying
A fine hotel although we stayed in the apartments. However the food is not merely bad is is completely tasteless. Strange but you would have thought that the cooks were British!
Property was well maintained and clean. Overall excellent place to stay. All our needs were attended to without any problems Would definitely stay here again
Great hotel
Great amenities, great pools it’s own private beach
Staff was friendly and helpful. Change of Management recently and some of them took effort to meet up with me.
The pool hours and zip line hours were limited. The breakfast was not restocked promptly so I would eat one thing and wait until something else was put out and never got to fill a plate and just eat and go. It was as if they wanted to close early. The glass bottles being drunk in and around the pool was a safety hazard, especially with children running around.
Decent and comfortable stay. Nothing great
Zipline and mini-golf are amazing. Beach is not very nice. Very poor arrangements at pool. Lifeguards not upto the mark. Some people come in the pool with dirty slippers, some kids naked, poor hygiene and no one to stop such things from happening.
A pleasant two night stay.
A pleasant two night stay. Modern hotel with good activities for Kids; Zip line and Aqua adventure. A very remote location so not sure there would be any local sight seeing apart from muscat.
Oman is just gorgeous!
i liked whole envoirment we love the place we loved it
Pretty hotel
Good stay
Right next to beach and little harbour area for aqua sports. Aqua Park and Zipline included. Service/Staff really helpful and nice. Required a late check out which was kindly offered to us. Pool area overlooks the beach. Towels were included as well. Only annoying thing if you dont like it was the French animation team and loud music.
We (family of 3) selected to stay at the duplex apartment. This was spacious, clean and extremely well furnished. The lower area led to the balcony which faced the sea, however, as we were on the first floor the sea-view was blocked by the palm trees. It would not have mattered except that we particularly selected the sea-view by paying extra. The staff were generally from India and we found them to be very friendly. The breakfast had lots of choice of food (we are vegetarians) for everyone however at times felt stressful and extremely chaotic, especially on the busy local holidays. We used the Diver Centre and found everyone not only friendly but also very professional. The took us on a trip to the Dimaniyat islands and this the highlight of our trip to Oman. Hotel's private beach was quite good but got tired of the choice of 'clubby' type music blaring all day long the hotel's Beach Hut.
The property itself is well organized and has great activities. It needs simple upkeep
No one could book anything for us. Wayyy to far from Muscat and when nothing can be booked, there is nothing to do at all.
It's a great place to stay while you dive. Our room was clean and comfortable and we'd stay there again.
Very peaceful
Large but comfortable hotel right next to the beach. Very quiet during my stay, meaning that the restaurants were almost empty and thus lacking a bit of atmosphere, but both the food and service were excellent.
This hotel is great in its landscaping and location. Hotel staff are good and helpful whenever needed. I booked the executive room which is supposed to be the best there is. Unfortunately, the furniture dates back to 10 years at least, TVs are old plasmas, matress makes springs noises and the water in bathrooms is brown (light muddy). Didnt take a shower and used bottled water to wash up. The rooms require fast remodeling with something warmer in terms of colors. Shame for a branded hotel, a definite 2.5 star instead of advertised 4 star in my book.
It was an excellent experience with Millenium Resort Mussanah. There is so much activities in the resort it self and the place was spotless, clean and tidy. My 2 kids enjoyed it so much and whiched to stay more.
Nice location
Comfortable room. Shower/bath enclosure not well thought out; floor gets wet. The two-bedroom apts are great for families.
Very good
It’s very good hotel and it’s good for relaxing’ service and the staff friendly’ also the staff training to help the customer. The hotel have a good view and there is a small problem it’s a far away from the hotel
Went for a family weekend getaway and had a mostly pleasant stay with some minor annoyances. Cons: 1) Cleaning staff does not refill tea and tissue supplies. 2) On the second morning, one of us fell ill and we asked for some simple breakfast items (bread butter and jam) to be sent to the room but the lady on the phone was very rude and insisted we have to pay in full for the breakfast if they send it (despite the breakfast being included in our package). Eventually we managed to get them to send some breakfast upstairs but it was a hassle nobody should have to go through when not well. 3) Food at the restaurant is average and vegetarian options are very limited. 4) Wifi is practically nonexistant if you stay in the apartments. Pros: 1) Found the reception staff (especially Haider and Ayman) to be very helpful. As we had a wheelchair user with us, they went out of their way to help us. 2) Lots of activities are available and you need at least 3 to 4 days if you want to cover everything, particularly for water sports. 3) Spacious and comfortable rooms 4) Beautiful property, access to lots of beach and a lovely sea view
Schönes Hotel weit weg vom Schuss. Sehr Privat
Baden: Strand sauber
a perfect retreat
I am a resident of Muscat, about 1 hour driver to this place in the middle of nowhere. good facility including swimming pool, gym, pool table, mini golf etc. The kids club is expected to be improved to entertain kids in various ages.
It could be better
Pro: - Close to muscat - Friendly staff - Multiple pools Con: - The sheets and pillow cases were smelly; it seemed that they weren't changed for a while. - There were ants in somewhere in the room. - The staff by the pools needed to do more to control some inappropriate behaviors by the pools, especially by young men. - There was alcohol bar outside by the pool where at least one guy got drunk and could've done something stupid to the people who were in and by the pool. Thankfully his friend pulled him.
Excellent Hotel not far from Muscat
amazing stay and services. Kind and hospitable staff. Would repeat again for sure.
Nice hotel close to a clean beach
If you want a truly private and clean beach, it is the Millennium Resort Mussanah. Generally all staff were friendly, polite and helpful (except one in black robe in the reception). We recommend you go for all inclusive otherwise it will be expensive (since there is no any food outlet near the hotel).
Remote
Our main bad experience was with check-in. Our family of three booked two rooms for three days. When we checked in, they assigned us rooms with the lowest possible floor (with no views, of course), right above the noisy main entrance, and the rooms were not even adjacent. When complained, they moved the worst room vertically up by two floors. ... The food here are generic, international hotel food but with prices X2 or 3. It's flooded with all inclusive French retiree groups in Med club style.. The place is too remote. The nearby on-site unaffiliated Diving center is fine. We had a nice snorkeling trip.
Good place to rest.
My stay was to get over a 12 hour jet lag prior to an equestrian trip riding in the deserts and along the beach. It was the perfect place to do just that. It's guite a drive to Muscat which is a lovely city to visit, but the amenities on site are very restful. (pools, gym, spa, dive center)
Great location, nice apartment but wouldn't return
Nice hotel but a bit too 'Butlins' for a quiet family holiday. Tour company operated activities all day which were quite intrusive if you weren't part of the group. Lots of poolside dance classes etc. Event on 1st 2 days meant family pool was shut. Booked for diving but unfortunately too windy. Hotel has a lovely location but not much around. Day trip to Muscat was good and apartment was great for a family. Food nice in restaurants. A nice break but wouldn't return to the hotel.
4-star ghost town
Nice but slightly faded all-encompassing beach resort. The rooms and food are nice -- even buffets that other reviewers said were disappointing -- but not top quality. Although we visited in the height of the tourist season (early January), there were very few guests around. Surprisingly though, the spa was "all booked up," we were told. I had also considered scuba diving, but the snot-green waves breaking on the shore made me think the large, warm, empty swimming pools were the better bet. Overall, great place to relax, read a book, and watch the sunset but not to be entertained or pampered.
Holiday if you want to recharge your batteries
Relaxing holiday was a very good break a lot things to do in the hotel for kids they were kept busy durning the stay. A bit expensive as its miles away from everything had to hotel restaurants which worked out around £80 for every meal. Town is around five minutes drive if you hire a car works out well if on budget . Friendly staff and very helpful if you have any problems. Weekend got busy but will visit again if I have a chance
Adequate but Unremarkable
Stayed for a diving weekend given the on-site scuba operation. The room quality was adequate; the staff polite and helpful although the front desk seemed short staffed during check-out/check-in peak times, and overall a bit slow. The food was uninteresting and unremarkable, and there is little in the surrounding area. Overall satisfactory for my needs but a totally undistinguished stay.
quiet and good access to sightseeing
very enjoyable , friendly relaxing atmosphere , good food and bar
It was a great experience. Good view, wonderful service, and great rooms.
LUXURY
EVERYTHING WAS RESTFUL, B EAUTIFUL AND APPRECIATED
Great if you just want to relax
We stayed for 5 days and it's a beautiful location with shells shells and more shells on the beach. Lovely pool area, nice spa, great service, but it's a good hour outside of the city, you need to rent a car and it's likely going to be 1.5 - 3 hours to get to many of the touristy locations around the Muscat area. I did read that the shower ran hot and cold and we did find that. You would no sooner reach to add cold and it would run pure cold, then hot, then cold. Mostly during the day, early morning or evening didn't seem to have the same issues.
Old new hotel
The very smartly designed Millennium Hotel is less than five years old, but it is not aging well. Either sub-standard materials were used in the construction or there are inadequate maintenance schedules. I suspect it's both. There does appear to be cost cutting, which is not what you check in to a 4+ star hotel for. Minimizing staff numbers was one obvious area of cost cutting. One of the problems with Omani society is that hotel managers and bell-boys dress the same so at check-in it appeared that we would be well served but three of the five staff behind the desk were bell-boys. On our second day we had to ask for our room to be made up, in the afternoon. The minimal staff hadn't managed to get to our room before then. The food was also disappointing for a hotel of this grade. All the staff we had contact with were very friendly and helpful, but there were not enough of them to run a 4+ star hotel.
The hotel was very good; perfect if you are up for a nice relaxed time, since there is nothing around. Only dining option is a the hotel restaurant which has good food. A little pricey though. The only problem I could see was that since we went on winter time, the temperature of the pool was freezing. It should have at least some sort of climate control.
Relaxation in paradise
We arrived at hotel not knowing what to expect. We were not disappointed. Hotel staff very efficient & friendly, room was very comfortable & clean. Lovely balcony overlooking the front gardens. There are so many facilities to use if you wish. The 18 hole mini golf course was great, played a few challenges there at night. Swimming pool was amazing 50m long with a depth of 1.2m ans so warm. A joy to use & with the ppol bar on hand this is the place to unwind. It has a good gym & beauty salon where I was pleased they used Pevonia products. They are the best. Well worth a visit.
great stay, will visit again!
This is the second time we visit Oman and stay at the Millennium. The hotel is really comfortable and great for families. We love the pools, minigolf, breakfast, spa, gym and the bar and the fact that it is in front of the beach in a nice and tranquil area. Hassan at the Spa gave a great service, as well as Samir and Pradhip at The Deck. It is easy also to do day tours to attractions nearby. We will be definitively visiting the hotel again.
Nice hotel but odd location
The hotel complex is very large, has a great pool, a decent fitness facility and a friendly relaxed air about it all. There are no perks, and since the rooms are all tiled some slippers would have been appreciated. The pool is a bit of a hike through some frequented areas, so bathrobes would also have been a good touch. The hotel is isolated and anywhere you might like to go means a very expensive cab ride. There is no local shuttle bus. Everything at the hotel (food, drink, rentals) needs to be budgeted for since the prices are high, even by Omani standards. The hotel staff is very friendly, but efficiencies are often lacking. They couldn't find our Expedia reservation, the room was missed by housekeeping, the front desk forgot to order a prearranged airport taxi and the pool regularly ran out of towels. The food is very good, but if you're a non-smoker finding a good spot in a bar, or eating area, can be problematic.
Quiet more remote resort, not yet exceptional!
A resort hotel an hour from Muscat. The distance is both an advantage and a disadvantage. It is quiet and remote, located on a nice beach with a Marina. Free hot tub in the gym area is excellent. Small pool for a large resort. The food is rather expensive and mostly average. There are other eateries a few kilometers away, but nothing significant is really close to this property except for Lulu's and Carrefour grocery chains. This is likely the best way to go for a longer stay. Our omm had a small refrigerator that kept things cool. But no other resort amenities at least not in the room we were in. Beds and pillows are comfy. The water in the showers seem to be on a roulette wheel. It goes from very hot to very cold, and in between . . . consistently. Constantly. It is very annoying and discomforting. This was really the only major drawback. Staff is minimal, but the young girl at the Concierge and front desk is exceptional. Mibalo, I think her name is. Very helpful. The hotel could rate high if they fixed the running water, modified their menu and prices, and trained staff on exceptional customer service.
Nice hotel great swimming pool
Great staff always willing to please and received excellent room plus some christmas cakes to make me feel special.
A nice weekend destination.
Very nice. Relaxed in swimming pool. Well equipped gym. Nice private beach. Excellent food and a well stuffed bar.
Average
Hotel is nice, average. Good food but very expensive. Nice bar service. Sheesha. Checking in was a nightmare which was a repeat from my last stay. Not enough staff. Everyone was overwhelmed. I finally asked for a manager after waiting for an hour. He got me checked in but had a horrible attitude. Seemed upset to be bothered. I would need a good reason to stay here again. It wouldn't be my first choice.
We stay here for work, because it is close to customer site. Very comfortable and convenient.
Not recommended
I suggest you stay somewhere else. This hotel is expensive, the staff is not friendly, sheets have holes, I opened the window and was unable to close it again, the shower constantly changes between cold and hot water, the caulking in the shower is all moldy... Definitely not worth the money or the amount of stars they claim to have...
Pleasant break away
Easy to find, warm welcome, staff very pleasant, polite and respectful. Room an adequate size for superior room, bed comfortable and linen clean. Our room on first floor over entrance to reception and outside veranda so was noisy at times. Dinning limited so we used poolside restaurant most of the time as staff there extremely helpful and food was delicious.
Nice hotel and friendly service personal
I chose the hotel because of a two days snorkeling trip with Oman Sail (highly recommended activity). The hotel is overall a good hotel. It is far away of any activities outside the resort itself. The main issue is the amount of the service personal. They are just to less for high peek situations like happy hour or dinner times. It was not rare to wait longer then 25min to get our order. The maximum was 35min for a burger and a salad with 4 other guests at the bar. Specially the personal at the 'The Deck' tried them best to reduce the waiting time, but during happy hour becomes this to a "Mission Impossible". This is a management issue and should be solved soon.
Nice hotel for relax
if you just look for a hotel to relax, it is excellent hotel. Next to beach and pool is great. If come for travel and stay this hotel, this hotel is little bit too far for everything. Takes at least an hour to go out town for sight seeing.
Pathetic !!!
It was a pathetic stay. I wont recommend anyone to stay for peace.... if you are good to live in with issues and problems... it will be more appropriate to stay in this hotel..
Great Value for Money.
It was an excellent stay for us with our family. Staff treated us very nicely and location is super with good facilities.
Overall good stay
A get away weekend.
It was a pleasant stay, I will call it a get away weekend. The weather was beautiful with some rains and dark clouds. I loved it especially when you hv a sea view room. I only wish we hv that service of five start hotel. But otherwise it was a great weekend stay.
india Staff not good
It was good
It was truly an enjoyable stay in the hotel. The breakfast, swimming pool, the beach and the steam sauna
Just vuew
Bathroom not clean specially bathtub .automatic option of exhaust fan in bathroom is not good for health as I understand .room floor with lot of mist becuase of central ac. Room office table light didn't work complain about it but no body came to see it .food is good ,staff are very frendly and hard working .
Nice Hotel for a short break
Overall experience was very good but it could have been much better if room would have been comfortable... However, facilities and activities within the resort is very good and very well maintained. I must say it's completely ideal for a short beak 1-2 days.
Very good hotel.
Excellent hotel. Great facilities for children. Spacious room with beautiful decor. The only negative in my opinion is that the hotel is one hour from the airport and 11/2 hour from Muscat. Other than that the hotel is very relaxing, quiet and super clean. I Definitely recommend it.
Nice resort
Really nice resort. Pool was nice. Its 1 hour drive to muscat. Great resort though and rooms were spacious and modern. New hotel- built 5 years ago.
A great getaway location!
Had a lovely rest and recovery over 48 hrs at this hotel. Loved the quietness of the place.
Hotel service
compare to rate, the service and kindness by crew in hotel it's almost terrible. It looks like change the postion between guest and host.
nice resort for families with kids
Very friendly resort with Jacuzzi gym outside swimming pool and access to beach few bars and a restaurants .free car park and wifi access even on swimming pool area and a Beach.
Nice hotel with good facilities
fantastic resort with plenty of facilities for everyone. Private beach is prusting. Rooms are nice done. The only two issues we faced are a) hotel staff was very slow in responding to questions and at times don't respond and b) distance from Muscat, it's a good 1.5 hours drive. If you are not too fussed about customer service, this is a perfect place for holidaying.

Amazing place to stay, it has basically everything you need. Clean spacious great food, staff were also amazing, highly recommended and will be back forsure
