Room was kept clean and orderly

No complaints except on the day we were leaving both elevators were down. Other than that, excellent service, very clean, staff were great and food was great as well as drinks. My 5-year old had a blast in the mini water park which has multiple slides and shallow pool. I would highly recommend.

We like the cantina to be into the resort ,we didn't have to leave the property to have some dancing and a great time.

We stayed for four nights. The hotel had excellent service, shows, and food. Very good. The staff was very friendly, and the room was clean.

The hotel was in a perfect location. Right on the beautiful bay of Tangolunda!

Relaxing enjoyable trip

The resort only had 1 pool for adults also the restaurant options not good, only gives you 1 specialty restaurants and f you want to go to another restaurant you have to see if they have RSVP from 3-5pm. No events in the open at nighttime.

Each and every staff member that we came in contact with was fantastic and we will be back. I hope management understands the hard work these great people do and the assets they are to the company and compensate them appropriately. My wife and I had a great holiday.

Cleanliness & Service The resort is spotless, and the staff go above and beyond—friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. We genuinely enjoyed our stay. Buffet Experience The on site grill staff primarily cater to Spanish speaking guests, so if you don’t speak any Spanish, have a translation app on hand. We noticed they often took orders from Spanish speakers first and you sometimes have to politely assert yourself to be served. Compared to other Barceló properties we’ve visited, this resort’s breakfast spread felt repetitive. Fresh fruit options were limited and the same each morning, and there were no freshly squeezed juices. They offer oat and almond milk, but no soy milk, which may disappoint if you’re plant milk dependent. Cuisine Variety If you love authentic Mexican fare—as we do—you’ll appreciate the menu. However, international or non Mexican options are few, and the selection doesn’t change much from day to day. Dining Experience (A la Carte Grill) The a la carte Mexican grill is fantastic—authentic flavor, generous portions, and beautifully presented. We noticed the Japanese a la carte offered little beyond a token selection—if you love Japanese cuisine, you might want to skip it. Overall: A very clean, service oriented resort that shines for lovers of Mexican cuisine but may feel narrow in beverage and fresh fruit choices—and could improve its English language service flow.

This property is wonderful. The staff were amazing and we never had to wait gor service. The beach and ocean were great. The buffet and restaurants were also good. The two towns were only a 100 peso ride with Santa Cruz having amazing ocean front restaurants. Huatulco is was by far our favorite location,

Great resort, clean and decent food for a vegetarian. Low English, great customer service- Definitely found premium worth it.

The property had some deferred maintenance, over all it was fine. Most of the workers were attentive but some ignored us. The spa had great prices, Consepcion did a great job .

Barcelo Huatulco was great! Beautiful beach, sunny and hot every day. The staff were always friendly, smiling, and happy to help. Lots of great activities from the entertainment staff! Food was ok - lots of options at the buffets, some things were great and others bland (especially desserts). Appreciated the salad bar, fresh cut fruit, fresh omelettes, and guacamole every day. The Italian restaurant was great - fantastic live piano, great service, and good food. Gym, pickleball, and basketball courts were great. Things I would improve: reduce the heavy banging music at the pool area, add a no-music deeper pool (perhaps in the grass area near the children’s play centre?), reduce the amount of boat ride offers from the guys in the beach (maybe instead of soliciting they could have a sign with posted prices - sometimes we were asked over 5 times per day - always friendly, but still), add signs at the hot bars for what you can order there (in both Spanish & English), improve the flavours at the buffets (go for quality not quantity!). Overall we had a great time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others!

Great location right by Tangolunda Bay, on the beachfront. Lots to see and do, included water activities (non-motorized) Nice medium sized resort with great access for everyone. Lots of ramps or elevators to all levels. Premium rooms were amazing with great ocean and pool views. The pools are all in the same area next to each other. One is a family pool with a kids waterpark section and slides etc. The other is a large adults pool and has a swim-up bar area. All pools were a great temperature and sparkling clean at all times. We had no complaints at all and would absolutely return here again. The food in the buffets was great but sometimes a little on the cool side for me, but always tasty. I like my food really hot but I realize that it's difficult to keep buffet food hot - cruise ships can do it though, so it disappoints me when it is on the cooler side in a hotel. The breakfast staff could be a bit more efficient in their attention to waiting customers. They chatted to each other whilst serving each customer individually, instead of asking the next customers in line, and multitasking their orders on the very large hotplate, which could have easily coped with several orders at one time. The 3 star hotel we go to in Puerto Vallarta does a better job at breakfast. Thoroughly recommend this hotel over all.

Beach is terrible for walking. Food was fairly good but not hot enough which is a concern. The hotel requires a larger main buffet seating area. Our room had a wonderful ocean view ( thank you Expedia ).

The location was great since it has easy access to local shops and restaurants. Thr grounds were very clean and the staff cordial.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Barceló. I put all my wedding gifts (cash) in the safety box and so far, we were having a good time. However, when we were about to check out, I counted the money from our wedding gifts and someone from the staff stole money from us. The general manager gave us a half ass apology but never got out money back. Do not stay here if you can avoid it. They will steal things from you, even in the safety box from your room. Do not recommend

Loved it all. Staff were amazing. The most friendly we ever had. The lobby bar server's were especially nice. Cannot say enough! Actually the most annoying thing was how some of the " entitled" guests treated the staff. Pretty awful. Yet the Staff never pushed back. We stepped in once when a sign clearly stated a rule. The staff tried to enforce it. The guests ignored it and argued with staff very aggressively. The staff members were incredibly polite to them enforcing the rule. We and many other guests approached the staff after telling them how well tgey gandled the awful guests. Well done!

It's a smaller resort with a very nice staff. Loved it!

Hotel needs am update Workers need to get paid more They do not do their work happily If you like quantity over quality of food, go there food buffets are a mess. No drink service at the pool all I’ll call they serve ace adulterated not even the beer tastes like a real beer. There was a day with no water of the room rooms and the whole hotel another day without electricity as well.

We had an amazing time. The hotel staff are very hard working, and make sure your stay is perfect. We enjoyed the shows. Food was delicious. We could see the whales passing by the bay, truly magical.

We had three generations, all of us liked the resort alot. Smaller resort but what we wanted.

The resort was lovely but there was no where to sit outside and enjoy the evening. We were a group of 22 and there was no where we could sit and play cards and chat other than the lobby that was very warm and noisy. Some table and chairs by pools were dark at night. We enjoyed our stay but would have liked a lounge area at night.

WE enjoyed our first trip to this resort, the weather was great the resort nicely kept. Our room was nice and clean. The food was very average in the buffets, very little selection each day, the specialty restaurants were good. No signature drinks were promoted and Bar tenders were not educated in mixing drinks outside of basics. Overall the customer service was great and we will return, but will only dine in the al la carte restaurant's and then we will dine out in local restaurants on other evenings. The buffets are the areas needing improvement for sure.

The ocean is easy to access from the resort without having to use a trolly or golf card. What wasn't ideal is the way people saved their beach lounge chairs with the towels.

My family and I visited Huatulco for the first time and staying at a Barcelo All Inclusive was also a first. We loved Huatulco , its such a beautiful place to visit. However, the all inclusive wasn't completely accurate. There are some alcoholic beverages that are not included. My dad and BF got food poising on day 3 of our stay. The resort was beautiful and it has beautiful views but most staff members was not friendly. If you're looking for a very peaceful stay this is definitely the resort for you, I'd just be cautious of the food and bereaves you consume while at this resort.

Loved Victor in the premium bar also Fernando at the pool. Definitely go premium. Food was good. Our only complaint was they put a family beside us and our room was adjoining so we could hear everything including the child coughing in the night. I think they should have families put together and adults above. Other than that the place is great. We will definitely return

Have stayed here before but this time I was less impressed. Spent one whole day with intermittent power in my son’s room and no power in mine. I thought the food was less quality this time.

the staff were very friendly and professional and the hotel and grounds were spotless.

We were a family of 12, staying for 10 days. We would go down early to the pool area to reserve chairs so that we could all sit together rather than be spread all over. One morning, after breakfast we went to the chairs and there was a note telling us not to reserve them and they took our towels. When you arrive and check in, you get a card for a towel, so they may have charged us for a towel if some of us had not had extra towels. The resort needs to be updated. I cannot say anything bad about the staff. They were excellent. Walking on the beach was hard as it slants to the water so you feel lopsided. The music at the pool was very loud especially on the days when Mexican people were there because everything was done in the Mexican language, even the games, so you felt really left out. The Mexican and Italian restaurants were fantastic.

Nice clean property. The staff were amazing. Hotel a bit dated, average food. The Italian restaurant was delicious! Hard to get a shaded lounger unless you get up extra early. The beach is beautiful for walking and swimming.

Loved the Staff. Always very friendly and eager to help. Loved the location, right on the beach no need to shuttle to the ocean. Walk out your door and its right there. Loved the food and drinks. Top notch. Monica was always concerned if we needed anything. Other resorts could take lessons from this one. Very very happy with our stay and we will be back !! Judy and Dion from Canada.

My husband and I were hesitant to vacation in Mexico, we were absolutely delighted with our stay!! We will certainty be returning. Can not say anything negative about the resort, staff was great, resort was clean, food was great and the people we met were all amazing!! Can't wait to return!

Our stay at the Barcelo was wonderful. Our room was clean and very comfortable, the facilities were all clean and in good condition, the food was delicious, and the staff were all very efficient and nice. We have no complaints.

Amazing All Inclusive

First all inclusive. Awesome experience. Stay are unreal. Location was spectacular. Amenities are exceptional. Price was a little high with the current currency situation but what can you do?

Smaller resort which was nice in some ways.Very clean. Limited restaurants, food was pretty good, not great. Drinks at lobby bar were excellent, at pool they were not good. Did not need to fight for loungers.overall very good experience.

Everything is good, just they need a little bit more variety on the buffet. The food they have is good.

Beautiful location - lovely staff

Lovely staff at this hotel. Surprisingly excellent snorkeling right out front of the hotel. Large pool very well maintained. The two buffet restaurants were excellent. The specialty restaurants were outstanding. We would stay here again.

No transfer to and from Airport when booking with Expedia. Will likely book through another company next time.

Normally, it would be adults only for us, but we were last minute so I chose Barcelo instead of paying $10,000 usd for the adults only resort. This is a very good option for families. There were lots of activities. It is honestly Not a 5 star resort though. It is a 4 or 4.5 star resort at best depending on your tastes and past travel experiences. They do charge extra for the "Premium" experience. It is the way to go here, so book a premium room. The highs include: The Premium Lounge. The curator, Sr. Victor is a treasure both as a person and for his delivery of service! Gloria at reception will be running this resort some day if they're smart enough to keep her! The food at the 3 specialty restaurants is as good or better than some of the legit 5 star resorts I've visited! The aptly-named, Margarita, serving drinks around the pool areas is a gem! Last but not least, the beds and pillows are outstanding! The lows include: Paying extra for premium, as some of those "benefits" should be included in a base level. The rooms overall could use an upgrade and a resort this size needs more beach chairs. The raw bacon almost every morning, at both of the breakfast buffets, did not get me excited for the day ahead either. Overall, Barceló is a pretty good resort with some truly excellent people delivering your experience. We had a good time!

Loved the beach access. Rooms were clean. Air condition in our room was to cool and couldn’t get set the temp higher. Didn’t like that we had to check out 3 hrs before leaving for the airport meaning no food or drinks.

This property is nice and is a sold 3 stars but with staff a little more attentive could be close to 5 stars

The property was beautiful and the beach and pool were lovely. We enjoyed that the resort was small The staff was nice but not quite as friendly as other resorts we have stayed at. The food was ok, we were disappointed at the lack of Mexican options and the drinks were very inconsistent. We did have a great time

The Barcelo is a lovely property located on an excellent beach in one of the in one of the friendliest areas of Mexico we have been to. The vibe of the resort is relaxing with music and activities but not a constant party which is what we were looking for. The food is fine and we really liked the Italian restaurant. There are also some great little restaurants/bars across the street if you want a change of scenery for dinner. We would definitely go back to the Barcelo and Huatulco.

I do wish the TV's were smart TV's, but that's all I could "complain" about. Everyone was very nice and accommodating, the food was amazing all around.

Barceló Huatulco is a lovely family mid-size resort with friendly staff, nice rooms, and pools. It was at full capacity but did not seem overcrowded. It's set on a 1/2 mile beautiful beach in a quiet and safe area. The Premium level is the way to go to get better alcohol and an ocean front room. The drawbacks to this property is it lacks a coffee shop and there are only 3 main restaurants besides the buffet. Guests have limited use of a la carte restaurants unless the are premium level.

We upgraded to a superior suite and it was as small as a normal super 8 motel room with only a table and 2 chairs to sit in. The food was terrible and the only lounge was by the front desk with no wheelchair access for me. The elevator mirrors had the same spit and smears on it for the ten days we were there and in front of the elevators on the main floor was a broken coffee maker that was also there the whole ten days. There is a sewage treatment facility near the property and when the wind blows the whole resort smells extremely bad. The staff was friendly. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone and we will not stay here in the future.

The staff is great always and smile and willing to serve, room needs more TLC, food and drinks very good, many activities, I have to mention that the reservation department they needs to provide more information to the client and front desk to prevent no having the right room and reminder payment

Everything is good

Our second time there. The staff are terrific. The food was disappointing. The Italian restaurant was a very big let down compared to our previous visit and the buffet was also sub par. The options provided were very limited and not appealing at all.

Room cleaning was excellent. Service in restaurants sometimes hit and miss but mostly good. Not enough shade by the pools. Weather superb the whole 12 days. Water craft staff was excellent.

Always enjoy our stay at the Barcelo Huatulco

Everything is good - especially the entertainments are excellent. The nightly shows are beyond expectation. What I don't like is the limit of reservation at the restaurants as we stayed one week but can only enjoy food at the restaurant 2 times, the rest of the week we have to eat at the buffet. Beach is good but deep, you can't swim without a life vest. Pool is nice but if a jacuzzi is available would be great. Thanks!

The landscape and beach was amazing. The buffet food was limited options and very small. Also didn’t like that the kids are split up in the pool because of the swim up bar. The accommodations of at restaurants was not good if you had big parties as they want to split you up all the time. The japanesse restaurant has 4 tables. The Italian restaurant was very good, and the Mexican was good.

Huatulco is amazing, loved location of hotel, beach was not too swimable, food was ok. Overall good time with family.

This was my first solo travel trip in years and I wanted a destination that made me feel safe and welcome. The hotel staff is amazing, friendly and very helpful. The hotel itself is great and has everything you need for a good stay. They have the food, the drinks, the entertainment. There’s nothing else to ask for! I loved my stay and will definitely be back soon!

Great customer service, very helpful and pleasant. Food was tasty especially the Italian restaurant. The pool area was clean and the adult pool was only adults. Rooms were large and very clean. Beds were great with comfy pillows and bedding.
