We had a great time. Beach with a walk-up bar was fantastic.

The water pressure on the top floor was terrible. The rooms are up a hill and not a fun walk to get there. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the buffet was very good!

Ideal beach getaway

Great hotel close to the beach. Ideal location not far from the pier and main areas. Location of restaurant and cafe on the beach is great. Friendly staff and service would def book again. Only negative to say would be the room and pillows smell a bit musty but generally was clean and comfortable.

We were disappointed, this hotel is very old and in much need of a renovation. Our first room’s air conditioner did not work but the staff was helpful and moved us right away. This was my first trip to the island so I don’t have any other hotels to compare it to but if I return I will definitely try another hotel.

Everything good

Steep climb no elevator nor courtesy transport. It was very difficult for one slightly handicapped person in our group. Restaurant service was horrible. Had to call staff the clear table each time. One breakfast staff server asked "if handicapped, why even come here?". Unbelievably rude when asking if we could use his breakfast coupon to take some bread to his room for him. We will stick with Paradee Resort from now on.

To many steps at hotel for older people

Rooms are a bit back of the property, the room we had was very nice. Very clean. The reception is about a 20meter walk to the beach. The beach is amazing. There are a few bars close and places to eat. You can go a bit further and find a lot more as well. Water is so clear and was so nice to swim and look at the surroundings. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to travel to koh samet

Very nice hotel

Very nice Hotel but no elevators and a very long steep walk to rooms

The staff never ever reply to messages sent to them through Expedia Gold. This caused me many problems. Some of my clothes 'disappeared' m. They tried to bill me for peanuts on my checkout even though I'm allergic to them. I rarely review hotels but am an Expedia Gold account holder and travel a lot. Don't let phoris deceive you. You're a fool if you book here. Their customer service is awful. Come on Manager... stop hiding. Awful place.

Beautiful hotel

Beautiful hotel. Internet was good. Shower kept changing temperature and the water pressure wasn't great. Breakfast was a nightmare. We considered ourselves lucky to get any European food at all. Plenty of Thai food was available but fruits would disappear immediately and would not be replenished. The place was overrun by Chinese and that was the reason for the empty breakfast trays. No sun loungers even though there was beach access. Location was great, plenty of restaurants around.

Good stay

Good location Rooms were modern and great shower bit of a walk to the room but not too bad. More difficult when you’ve had a few to drink 😂 shame about all the rude Russians and Chinese but that’s not the hotels fault

top class hotel.

Checked in about 12 noon, had to wait until 2PM to get my room. Long hike Up Hill to get to my room. The room had a view of the water treatment system. Smoke detector still hade the construction yellow "Remove before Use" safety cover installed, proving that it had never been tested. No beach towels in room, I had to go to the front desk to request one, front desk said for me to go to housekeeping, Housekeeping was closed, I asked a maid she said for me to go to the front desk, got a bell boy to get me one. When the maid cleaned they made the bed but did not wash the coffee cups, or replace the coffee/cream/sager or wipe counter tops or sweep floors. Rooms are just boxes with some curves nothing special. I will find a better place next time with better customer service.

Great hotel. A bit too many steps for the higher floors but the nice rooms make the climb worth it. I loved the restaurant and the breakfast was amazing. The wifi was problematic though and it's my only complaint. Staff was nice enough to help me with a cut I got getting off the speed boat when I accidentally touched the blades. Overall a very good stay.

An excellent location next to the beach with spacious and clean rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful too. Only a short walk to the main restaurant/nightlife.

Great hotel

A lovely hotel conveniently placed just outside the madness of Sai Keaw. Staff really friendly. Room immaculate. Great food. Fantastic beach. Only downside it's a little expensive for food and drink. Would definitely stay again.

Great location right on one of the most beautiful beach. Nice and attentive staffs. Very nice food and promp service. Poor maintainance in the bathroom ( molds, cracks, rainshower not working, some old towels) But in overall, a very nice hotel with excellent staffs. We will keep coming back.

Great hotel

We experienced a hiccup with our booking the first night, but it was handled extremely well by the front-desk manager. The hotel was great, with breakfast right at the beach. The breakfast had different dishes daily, and truly was fantastic. The rooms were clean (we came across some bugs, but the room was sprayed for us), the staff was friendly, and the island couldn't be more picture perfect.

Great location, friendly, busy!

The room is clean. Location is great. Very high cash deposit mandatory. Breakfast wasnt refilled and is messy and disorganized; you have to come early to get the good hot stuff.

Beautiful bathroom

Nice clean resort, beautiful bathroom! Friendly staff, checkin from 2pm onwards. Nice local area, easy to walk about or rent a scooter. A short walk up to the rooms but there’s a shuttle service that runs whenever there’s demand.

Overall the facilities were very nice and comfortable. Could use some minor repair. The resort is close to the beach and the night life. Unlike all the other hotels we stayed in Vietnam and Thailand; it was more labor intensive planning follow on activities. The speed boat taxi picked us up right at the resorts beach.

The room are very far away & you have to climb a lot of stairs

Great location on the beach and right in the middle of all the resort bars and restaurants. A short walk to the market where there is an ATM and sunscreen and anything else you need. Bike rentals and pretty much anything you could want is only a short walk away. Rooms were kept clean and staff was very willing to help when needed. Loved the design of the rooms as well though there was some mild damage to some spots along the walls and bed. Highly recommended

The first night had a bad room with door broken, shower broken, and the air conditioner could not adjust the temperature. The second day changed another room with better condition. The fogs and similar animals were quite annoying at night.

Bad first impression

Overall the stay as OK. I’ve been to Koh Samet many times, and Love long weekends there. My husband and I thought to try a new hotel since our regular choices were booked. The bad: The room we were initially put in had a very strong smell of mold. Initially we thought to just accept it but ended up being too strong to handle. I assume it’s from the aircon as the room didn’t seem like it had water damage. We had to ask to be moved, and re-pack our stuff and deal with that inconvenience. It’s really annoying when a hotel puts you in their bad room. They certainly know it’s bad and should fix the problem and not play the game of “will they complain?” The good: The second room we were put in did not smell and was decent overall. The bathroom had a nice design and the shower was good.

Avatara

Great place a 1 minute walk from the beach. Rooms are clean, new and large. Excellent customer service from front desk through room keeping staff to the guys and ladies at the beach restaurant. Only minus for me is that the rooms don't have balconies, or some furniture for outside the front door

Great Location

Loved staying at this hotel - The staff were so lovely and helpful, the rooms were so well presented (great aircon as well!) Great location on the beach and easy to get around everywhere via scooter. Would have loved to have stayed there longer - next time will make sure to be there a full week to truly embrace the island!

A good spot to chill!

Very pleasant staff and very clean rooms.

Staff were not warm and don’t appear to be hospitable. Was surprised that they do not offer toothbrush and toothpaste though they can be bought in their tiny minimart.

lovely hotel.

Great place to stay. Nice bright, well designed rooms, spacious and practically on the beach. A steep walk to the rooms although a cart is provided if you need it. Breakfast on the beach was lovely. Service a little hit and miss at the beach bar during the afternoon. I would happily return to Samet and to this hotel. Get a speedboat to the hotel. An amazing experience

Absolutely Amazing!

LOVED our stay! I had stayed in cheap bungalows on Koh Samet 20 years ago, so was extremely surprised by the prices of all accommodations on the island now! However, we splurged and spent a little more than we might normally (around 3,000 baht/night for triple-family room) and were completely satisfied with our entire Avatara experience! The breakfast buffet was superb! The concierge and front desk staff were wonderful. Our room was beautiful - very clean and new. Many TV channels available. Hot shower with good water pressure! The hotel rooms are back up the hill a bit, behind the main entrance, but the restaurant right out front (across a small street/alley) is right on the beach. The beach was gorgeous. The sand is white. The beach (cove) was fairly quiet, especially compared to the beach right next door. Overall, exquisite.

Waiting too long.....

Overall, my stay at the Avatara Hotel was a positive experience. The rooms were great, if not a far walk from the beach, and the hotel is nicely situated on the island. My complaint was the food service which was atrocious. Upon returning from a beach walk we sat at one of the beach side tables for a drink one day, but were never served so we went to another location nearby for a drink. Then, the next dinner proved there were serious staffing issues when my food I ordered never showed after a half hour, an hour and even 75 minutes. The wait staff lied saying it was on its way, but it didnt come. Then a supervisor said there was a computer glitch and the order never got to the kitchen. However, the staff were caught in another lie when the bill came and actually showed when the ticket went to the kitchen. Bad service!

Comfortable Stay

Comfortable stay. Room is clean. Beach is just in front of the hotel lobby. Breakfast menu can be improved.

Design over practicality

Nice rooms, great shower, comfortable bed, but plastic sheet spoils it all. No racks to hang your wet cloth. Kind of design over practicality. Bathroom view to the rubish piles.

great hotel,the staff were very welcoming when arrived where met on the beach by staff check was fast and smooth ,breakfast on the beach was great the hotel was a few min walk from main area,there was a great cocktail bar sort distance away would recommend this hotel and will visit again

Hotel ok ,Having breakfast on the beach was great .Shops, bars and restaurants not far away .overall hotel very clean ,staff very helpful and koh samet island vey good will be going back again thankyou Avatara.

3 star hotel, dont pay over $50

Clean room, good water pressure, bring ur pillow unless u like rock hard pillows. Hotel is at best part of island. No room service, good shower and toilet, hotel still under construction. Will possibly stay again.

Convenient and clean hotel

This is relatively a new hotel,the rooms are clean, spacious and a minute walk to the beach. Breakfast is very good by the beach side. I enjoyed my stay and it is not too busy. The restaurant serves a variety of food and I liked it.

Rummet var bra storlek, bra sängar inte så hårda, bra dusch och toalett, bra frukost på stranden. Det dåliga är att man har ingen ute plats. Mellan husen är det fint iordning gjort med en dam med fiskar och vattenspel, men ingenstans att sitta. Mycket med trappor.

Bon rapport qualité prix. Standing moyen. La chambre est spacieuse, un peu vétuste mais fonctionnelle. Le petit déjeuner est correct. Les chaises mises à disposition au bord de la plage sont pris d’assaut dès le matin. Dommage qu’il n’y ait pas de transats réservés aux clients.

very nice hotel

The staff at the hotel were excellent; however, there were a few downsides. Despite its proximity to the beach, the hotel did not provide enough towels, and the water pressure in the shower was weak. Considering it as a vacation spot, I found the environment less relaxing than expected.

Abgerockt und ungemütlich

Top Lage aber das Hotel ist schon sehr abgerockt. Frühstück ist einfach und es wird nicht so gut nachgefüllt. Klima funktioniert nicht richtig. Sehr laut durch Abwassertanks auf dem Gelände. Pumpen sehr laut die ganze Nacht. Beach und Wasser sowie Umgebung ist super. Das Hotel geht wirklich nur zum schlafen mehr schlecht als recht.

Not a resort

This is not a Resort, why call this place a resort when it’s more like a hotel/backpackers place. I can say one thing positive, the room it self was delicate but from there to the rest it was low class. I had booked 2 nights but left after one night.

Leider nur eine Nacht

Die Lage war wirklich gut. Abends konnte man in die ,,Stadt'' gehen und hatte eine große Auswahl an vielen Restaurants. Schon allein das wäre für mich ein Grund dieses Hotel nochmal zu buchen. Zudem liegt das Hotel direkt am Strand. Die Zimmer sehen aus wie auf den Fotos. Leider kein Balkon und wir hatten meistens die Gardinen zu, weil man sonst rein gucken konnte. Auch im Bad. Wenn man ganz oben ein Zimmer bekommt, dann hat man wahrscheinlich mehr Privatsphäre. Jedoch muss man dann bei der Hitze viele Treppen steigen. Darauf hatten wir nicht so lust. Also die Zimmer sind sauber, die Lage war Top, das Personal ist einfach sooo freudlich und das Frühstück am Strand war auch gut. Meine Tipps für eine Reise auf Koh Samet: - 5 Tage reichen um die ganze Insel kennenzulernen (200baht für 5 Tage Gebühr muss man für den Aufenthalt zahlen) - Restaurant Tipp: Banana Bar und The canteen (Burger bestellen)

Ligger sentralt, god frokost, store fine rom, hyggelig personalet. Ustabilt wifi.

Un excellent rapport qualité prix

Un hôtel parfait en bord de plage et à 10 minutes à pied de la ville, donc parfait pour sortir le soir. Petit déjeuner généreux et assez complet. Chambres spacieuses, salles de bain bien agencées, lit comfort mais ferme.

Das Hotel spricht überhaupt nicht für ein 3 Sterne Haus. Hässliche Gebaüde . Habe laut Hotelbeschreibung ein Zimmer mit Balkon aber bekomme ich das nicht .Die Rezeptiondame sagte . Das Zimmereingang ist das Balkon !!!! Ich war sehr entaüscht. hat viele Geld gekostet für solche Hotelkategorie

Das Hotel liegt nicht direkt am Hauptstrand, deshalb ist es hier ruhiger und ein sehr schöner Strand! Das Frühstück wird auch dort eingenommen, welches ein sehr reichhaltiges Angebot bietet!!! Das Zimmer war sauber und groß, wie auch das Bad, das sehr viel Platz bot, auch Stellfläche für Badutensilien und einen Schrank mit viel Platz!!!! Leider, Gartenanlage das Gefühl, man muss durch den Hintereingang ins Hotel!!! Teilweise Baustelle, aber keine Lärmbelästigung!!!

Hotell med perfekt beliggenhet på strandens beste sted. God service, fin frokost og beachrestaurant på stranda. Rom med store fine bad. Eneste minus var at de fylte ikke opp med bla frukt på frokosten når denne gikk tom en god stund før frokost tiden var ute.

為何會扣我酒店按金4000元泰珠，要3星期才退還？因為這是以往從沒有發生要扣取按金。以前這麼多間公司都只會hold按金，退房時會void按金，但這間酒店說要3星期才會退還4000泰珠給我credit accou t.

非常好

房間寬敞明亮舒適，離海灘非常近，員工看到我們搬行李都會主動來幫忙，餐廳食物也很好吃，非常推薦！有機會下次願意再入住！

テト正月の期間だったので中国人観光客が多かった。部屋は少しカビ臭く感じた。着いた日にクリーニングを出したが、出発日に朝できてなく、特急で10:30に出来上がってきた。

場所もホテル設備も及第点。プールが無いのが欠点。ドアの開閉時に蚊や虫の部屋への侵入は防ぎようがない。手くらいの大きさのクモが入っていた。

Tres belle chambre, propre, neuve, literie impeccable mais : clim extrêmement bruyante donc pas la nuit, oreillers vraiment beaucoup trop épais et insonorisation juste correcte. Mais hôtel bien situé devant une belle plage et proche de toutes activités. A part la clim, très bien. Dommage. Attention, beaucoup d'escaliers pour arriver aux chambres ! La notre était la plus loin, donc la plus haute donc beaucoup de marches !
