Staff were excellent, and very hospitable. The food at their restaurant/cafe was simply superb. The room was decent, pretty much as advertised. A couple of minor issues about the facilities were brought to the owners' attention, but otherwise, the stay was a very pleasant experience. Thank you!
The food was amazing, it was the best cottage pie ever. Kate is a delight!
Ariundle is one of a kind! Kate and Laura were incredible hosts and went well beyond the call of duty. One of our party left their passport when we left and Laura was so supportive and helpful. The room was excellent, older but clean and the beds are comfy, and the food at the tea room, wow!!!!!
Great stay
Enjoyed staying here. Very quiet place in middle of the fields. Helpful staff. Fresh food. Lovely village!
Property is bit old and lacking maintenance.
The lady who I spoke to was really lovely as we were running late but we were still able to access the room. This was a very appreciative from a very exhausting climb. Only disappointment is that we didn’t get to try the home cooking.
BAD - They double booked our room GOOD - They found us somewhere else to stay within two hours. BAD - We had to pay again the new place upfront then claim a refund from Expedia after the trip. This review is not an opinion, these are the bare facts
This is a great place located around a mile or so from Strontian, off the beaten track. I had the twin (bunk bed) room in the bunkhouse next to the kitchen. Room was clean, tidy with a separate toilet, shower, sink. The TV and Freesat did not work (no channels) but frankly that didn’t matter as the weekend was about getting away from the Rat Race. Bed was small (but I big), but comfortable. The sound of a babbling brook, the smell of wood smoke and stars in the dark sky at night was enough entertainment for me. Kate, Colin and the young man in the Ariundle Centre next door were all friendly and welcoming. The Ariundle Centre is a real gem! Highly recommended!
Hideaway in the woods
It was nice and warm, the mattresses could do with upgrading and tv,s that work but the staff were awesome, especially the girl who makes the awesome cakes there especially the scones and i told her so.it is in the middle of nowhere so is hard to find but once there its stunning. Plus we were very lucky to witness a pair of eagles fly over us.
Beautiful retreat in nature
Very Dirty and Messy
Very very dirty and messy. No clear direction as to which bunk, many bunks with old bedding on. Dirty nappies from long ago in the bin. Milk months old in the fridge and smelling. States wifi but none and no phone signal so made work I had planned to do very difficult, wouldn't have booked if I had known this. Needs a lot of TLC and cleaning.
We booked a room a few weeks prior to our trip, upon arrival we were assigned the self contained flat with its own kitchen! We were delighted. The area is gorgeous, very remote and peaceful, with lots of scenery within easy walking distance. All of the staff were lovely, very friendly, as were the other guests we came across. Great knowledge of the local area and walk / shop suggestions. It's a great base in this part of Scotland, we got up early to go and see the Glenfinnan Viaduct, the location let us get there early! Next time I travel to the Fort William area I'll definitely be staying here again!
We ended up not staying there because we were told "no rooms available".
Only stay here if you can't find anywhere else to stay and it's to wet to sleep in a ditch.
Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We arrived very very late at night due to a car accident on the road. We were exhausted and hungry. The owner and staff were waiting for us, still gave us hot food, tea, beer, wine anything we wished. I can't thank enough for that night! The dining room was pleasant either at night with a candle on the table or in the morning having breakfast (nice and crispy rolls with egg and bacon) If you are looking for an escape from a busy city life, this is the place to switch off.
Basic, ill maintained and cheap
You get what you pay for, such as this remote room. No WiFi in room, have to go to reception/restaurent. Toilet did not flush. They couldn't fix it. Argument with other guests who didn't get enough rooms, they tried to sleep in our room. Breakfast not included.
Interesting
A unique place to stay in a beautiful location. Stunning walks in local oak woods just up the road, a homely feel with local crafts for sale and a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Thank you :)
Want a Great stay ..this place is a must.
Fantastic service and location, off the beaten track this is a must for anybody who wants good old fashioned Scottish hospitality. The staff are brilliant , friendly and kind. The food is good and tastey served hot with a log burner warming the restaurant. The rooms were spotless and warm with comfy beds and warm showers. We can't recommend highly enough.

While I understand this is an accommodation, not a hotel, there were several concerning issues during my stay. The cleanliness was far below acceptable standards—the room wasn’t just dirty, it was filthy, with trash left behind from previous guests. Additionally, there was no lock on the room door because a previous guest had taken it, leaving us to use a knife to get back in. The toilet was dirty, and contrary to what is advertised, there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms; it’s only available in the dining area, which felt misleading. The only positive aspect was the availability of a laundry machine. However, it seems they are either severely understaffed or possibly have no staff on-site. Be sure to bring your own towel, as the one provided was extremely dirty. Overall, I would not recommend staying here—it’s simply not worth it.
