Everything fine over all
Only thumb up will be friendly staffs and location convenience. Room condition horrible, moldy walls and hot water supply last for less than 5 min. which is not enough for a shower.
The pictures of the room online nothing like what I saw in person. It was very difficult to find. The person that checked me in once I found it was not very friendly. My room had ants the floor was dirtyand had not much room. All the bad reviews on Google or correct about this place. I tried to give a chance and find out for myself. Now I agree with everyone else that has left bad reviews. To top it all off it was overpriced.
Too many ants...
Room needs updating.
It would be difficult to beat the location of this guest house. It's two minutes from the F1 Causeway Bay MTR exit, the Airport bus is maybe five minutes away, mini buses line up outside, and all of Causeway Bay is right out the door. In my particular room, there was a partition between the shower/sink and the toilet, so you don't have to worry about tripping over the toilet like in other Hong Kong washrooms.
No left luggage service
Refused luggage service after originally being told have this service
Fair for what you pay
Why I like the Apple Hotel
Only thing i feel important was a quiter operating air conditioner. It cooled okay. Plenty of fresh towels, very thoughful staff going obmver the top to see to property return, clean refridgerator, quiet avmctuvity in hallways, Excellent telephone to contact staff. Local area knowledge excellant, with great shops and restos. Clean stairwells well lit areas, comfortable lobby seating, helpful food ordering. Reasinable reant considering the grand presrntation of local establishments. I will remember the excellant choice i made in staying in Causeway Bay Really thrilled to be there for such bargain prices. Just so lively!
Too small and not new
Very uncomfortable place, I would definitely pay a little more and get something better. The whole building smells. The location is great. It all depends on the type of traveller you are. But not recomended for travellers who prioritize cleanness and comfort.
It's ok to sleep only.
Face, a room is not matched with a images which shown on wed-site. The room is tiny.
Nice location
The hotel is good but the rooms are a bit too small and also if the bed size can be improved that will accomodate two people well. Overall great ace to stay with causebay way mtr and also shops near by to eat.
You get what you pay for
I’m a worldwide budget hotel fan normally staying at places like the Chungking Mansions when visiting HK. This hotel exceeded my expectations for Hong Kong standards. In fact, the location/price/comfort ratio is so good that I’ll definitely be staying here next time. I never understand how people dare to complain about room/hotel appearance for this price!
This is a Hostel
The staff at the Apple Hotel are welcoming, but this is just a hostel not a hotel. You get a basic room which is small as most are in Hong Kong. The bed is a three-quarter bed and probably not even six feet long. There is no wardrobe, just 4 hooks behind the door. Towels are provided but often torn and old. The neighbouring building rents rooms by the hour and it is located in the busiest and noisiest part of Causewaybay. It is reasonably clean, but no frills. No drinks, water, fridge or dining room. If you have a large suitcase and it doesn't fit under the bed you have about 30cm square to stand in.
Rooms titles are deceiving...watch out!
On the Hotels.com website the Apple hotel has two types of rooms listed; Mini-Apple Room, which was advertised at $49 CAD per night and Standard Room, which was advertised at $58 CAD per night. We booked the standard room, knowing that rooms are quite small in HK. It turns out that there is no difference in the size of the rooms. They are all mini rooms. By selecting Standard Room all you are doing is paying $9 extra for no reason. It’s just a cash grab by the hotel. I know this for two reasons, one, looking at the fire escape plan shows the size of each room on a map on the inside of a he room door, and two, by asking one of the cleaning ladies. She told me that all the rooms are the small except room #3. There are a total of 13 rooms in this hotel.
This hotel it's a lie !
I hate this place . I never stay in a hotel they will lie about the room I stay ! I booked standard room. They gave me a normal room it's very small and I can see the bathroom infort of me . Next day I ask the lady work there . I ssk I think you make a mistake gave me a wrong room ,cos I booked standard. She said yours room is standard it . Yours room is not small there have other room is even smaller ! And she is very not ice when she talking to me . She don't even care what I said ! I told her I make a friend she also staying this hotel . Her room it's much bigger . Next day when I go out .i saw the other room they have standards rooms and it's bigger ! And my room 100% it's a normal room . Cos eveyday after they clean the rooms they will let the door open . So I can see all the rooms . What hotel is this will lie about it ! All because they gave my room the some walkin client to make money. ! And I pay more for the standard they lie about it ! Don't even care when I ask about it . And still lie about it ! I will say if you can afford other hotel . Pls don't book this one ! This one it's not a hotel ! It's like a guest house but have yours room . They don't work like a hotel ! They lie !
Great value, amazing location, friendly staff.
Really great location. Amazing value, perfect for the minimalist traveller. Staff are helpful and friendly.
Cheap but not worth the price
I often stay in low budget places, but the low price paid for accommodation here is not worth paying. The room was uncomfortably cramped. It would be impossible to turn around without bumping a wall or something. There is no reception area and the place you go to in order to check in or check out is grubby and dim. The elevators are another story. Even if you need to spend $10-20 more per night to stay elsewhere, I think you would be much happier for making that choice.
Hotel was not as expected!!
Hotel not as expected!! Very small, dirty and noisy!! For a single young female traveling alone I would definitely not recommend!! I checked in and then out on the same day and had to book a different hotel as my room was not as advertised, the lock on the door was broken and the hotel staff were unable to hep!
Shouldnt call a hotel, should call it a Ghettoo.very very dirty, uncomfortable, room too small,no space, aircondition leacking, bedshit dirty.blanket yuckky, smell so bad,no soap ,no shamppoo, very poor, should close it down, very old ,not happy at all, worse hotel in my entire life, dont hook me in that type of hotell again, pliz dont .
Very tiny room but clean, well organized and central.
A convenient hotel for shopping and short stay
The hotel room is great for value, the location is convenient, i think i will go back for my next trip again
Rooms very small, quite noisy, good location, very hard to find
Nice hotel 15 mins walk to JJ market and shops
This hotel is quite good in terms of quality of service and basic amenities. We found it to be comfortable beds and clean. The breakfast was nice, not too many options however it was sufficient and well cooked. The only draw back is that is approx 15 min walk from the closest metro station, which might be too much for some people.
Apple Hotel - Jan 2017
It was cheap, for a small room. It was value for money, not a rip-off, not a super bargain, fairly priced. Convenient location on Causeway Bay.
Room rate is reasonable. not far from Time square .Room is clean but too small
A temporary rest area with modern amenities.
I guessed HK is such a small place therefore the room also reflects it's size. I have a slight difficulty in sleeping as I have to adjusted my body slantly to fit the bed length. And it is rather cramped with my luggage bags blocking the door way. For a short stay is fine. Very limited walking space in the room. Short walking distant to the subway.
More of a place for back packers, very cheap.
Comfortable bed and good shower. No window in room and tap and toilet constantly flowed with water, to the extent that in the small hours of the morning we were under 2 inches of water. No staff around and we were leaving early the following morning at 6am. Still no one around to bring the problem to their attention. The smoke detector was covered with a plastic bag. The room was extremely cheap though, so I guess you get what you pay for.
It took a long time to find hotel
Not very clean, good location but it was not easy to find hotel, will not stay again
Near the MTR only
Shandy atmosphere, not suitable for single lady. The plug in my room to boil water is spoilt and they did not bother to repair it. Soft bed due to prolong usage. Toilet door cannot be closed fully. Shower gels are lousy to use. No daily housekeeping, only change of towels everyday.
Cheap and practical
Great location. Great price (for HK). Room is minuscule but has all the essentials. Shared fridge and MW. Make previous arrangements if arriving after 10pm.
Not worth it
Staff was mixed. One really nice lady, but the one that seemed to be in charge was rude to everyone I saw her interact with, including myself. The room was small and beat up. Better options at this price in HK.
Not for large people
I guess that this hotel was in a great location (not far from a MTR station, and opposite a shopping mall. Kind of difficult to find, but it's on a corner of a street. This hotel is like they have bought two floors of a block of flats. The room is very very small, So please pay attention to the measurements of the room. The room is just a bed squeezed between two walls, and the bathroom consists of a toilet and a shower head on the wall. The space for the shower is 1 and a half foot in front of the toilet, but it's sufficient. The room was so small that I would hit the bathroom door a lot. The WiFi is extremely poor, and people were sitting outside their rooms in order to get a better WiFi reception. I wouldn't stay here again because of the size of the room.
Terrible, would not recommend unless travelling so
Terrible room. Mouldy Walls. Bathroom/Shower less than meter away from bed, in bedroom. Bed was definitely not suitable for 2 people. Total walkable floor space was 1meter squared.
Nice hotel, Location, location, location...😃😃😃
We had a pleasant stay in this little hotel/guest house. Staff very nice. Fast check in and check out....😃😃😃
Disappointed
No hair dryer in room and they ve got one at the corridor you gotta share it with others this is a huge turn off for ladies. Bit stinky room. Room doesn't look similar to what you see in pictures. Nice location tho.
be careful with the staff
worse in 6 years visiting Hong Kong. staff very rude and unhelpfull. they use the hotel corridor as their home, doing pedicure and eating. the common fridge is totally dorty and full of staff's smelly food. you look like you are on a slum in Manila. the cherry on the tart, they stop your girlfriend on her way out and tell about your previous night adventure. Seriously? Do they know it is a crime? My onky doubt if I sue the company, the hotel clerck or both...
Preferred better secured place for solo stay
There is one old aged security guard stationed at the bldg gate. But the place allows anyone in & out. I was given the rooms on the 10/F next to the local neighbourhood. Found no staff but one IP cam there.
Need to Think Deeply Before Book
My room located at 4/F, bad smell in room until i ask the staff do some spray in it, otherwise i cant sleep for whole night
Good for Budget
Room and bed is very small, fit to one person rather than two person even double bed but very cheap price if compare other hotels in Causeway Bay, stay one night is fine.
Nightmare in Hong Kong
This place is a traveler biggest nightmare. It's in a building making up of few levels of many other smaller hourly inns that provide hourly rate room for "you-know-what-service". Avoid at all cost especially for ladies or anyone else.
Terrible hotel
We arrived in HK around 12:30 a.m. and got to the hotel by 1:30 a.m. We were expecting someone to be at the reception but to our surprise it was a scary hallway with many other dodgy and random guesthouses. There was just a tiny table with a phone half hanging from the wall with a note covering the bell saying call these numbers for check-in. We rang those two numbers for half an hour over and over again and it either rang for a long time and then went to voicemail or went straight to voicemail. We also rang the bell and got no response. Eventually (half an hour later and being super exhausted), a lady finally came out accusing us of not ringing the bell and not calling her. We explained that we did and she told us she didn't hear the phone ring nor the doorbell and that she had been "on the phone with her friend". Anyway we got checked in and turned on this old fashioned switch for the hot water (even the oldest houses in HK don't use these switches anymore) and we had to wait 15 minutes before the water would be hot. So we switched it on, went out for a late night snack and came back after an hour. We tried taking a shower and when we turned on the hot water, literally after 10 seconds, the water started going from hot to lukewarm and then to cold. We tried letting the water run for a while and it didn't heat up again. Eventually they told us ALL rooms are like that, so apply your shampoo and shower gel before you turn on the water. (you only have 10 secounds)
Terrible hotel
Worst hotel ever stay , no room space , not worth the price paying for
Lovely, clean, bright hotel with great staff.
This is a lovely hotel in Causeway Bay. Our room was small, but that's perfectly normal for HK. The place was beautifully clean and the staff were so friendly. They made up the bed and gave us fresh towels every day and there is a kettle, fridge, microwave and hairdryer for residents to use in the hallway. The only downside was the noise from outside, due to the windows being very thin and no door on the bathroom, we were disturbed by road noise every night. If you have earplugs though, it's not a major issue!
Very bad experience, we didn't even stay there that night. Very dirty, there were hair on the bed. The room was extremely small and moist. There were lots of pornography hotels all over the building. Definitely not suitable for single girl to stay.
Good price Hong Kong hotel
Excellent location, room size was equivalent to the money I paid. No complaints at all.
Quick couple of days after a nasty long business trip - very cheep HK ISLAND hotel... Very basic but clean
Convenient
Good value for money and very good location. Needs a small refrigerator at least
Small room
small room,noisy air conditioning
closet size room, terrible service BUT A+ location
Excellent central location but the room is literally the size of a closet - no door between the bathroom and the bed area which is only 2-3 ft away. The service is TERRIBLE. I specifically called and asked for someone to come clean my room before I went out for the day, they said okay then I come home and NOONE cleaned a thing! I called to ask why and they just interrogated me about which number I used to dial the front desk. There is a COMMUNAL blow dryer per floor and people come out of their rooms to blow-dry their hair at midnight - you hear it loudly. Doors slamming and opening all night long. The rooms are clean though and I didnt see any bugs. I am 5'9" tall and the bed was too short for me to lay straight - the room is THAT small.
Toilet stinks
Toilet stinks
A pleasant and economical stay!
The room was small but plenty of room for me and I am a big guy. It was clean and comfortable and I couldn't ask for more. The staff went out of their way to provide great service.
good night in HK
was a one night last thing booking, so i increased room status to a better room for this occasion, room was very slightly larger than the smaller rooms, but as only for the ONE night was a comfortable stay and is an excellent location.....2mins walk away from TIME SQUARE....
Good location, very small room for budget tourists
the hotel has a good location, the room is clean yet very-very small. at the same time you have everything you need: clothers hangers, shower, toilet, shampoo/shower gel, mirror, air conditioner, TV, tea pot (in the hall). Wi-fi didn't work properly and it's the only problem, all the rest was fine for the low room price.
Was an experence
It was what I paid for was clean the slamming of doors was really annoying
Central location
The rooms are small but this is the situation with most of the hotels in HK. The worst part is the air-conditioning that is of the old type where you have minimal options to adjust.
Comfortable room
Comfortable place to stay. Room Abit small but still feel very comfortable staying. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
CNY HOLIDAY in HK
i had booked for 4 days over CNY known HK well but never stayed at this hotel (not really hotel) at 750HKD per night the room was......do be honest could not call it a room more of a small space with a bed and shower!!!! TV did not have English speaking program's which was very strange for HK 'hotel' i had one bag with me that filled the space...hair dryer (i didn't use) was only accessible IN THE HALL, again strange walking out of room (space) and seeing someone dry there hair in hallway!!! if it wasnt for the excellent location of hotel-TIME SQUARE i would give this hotel a zero rating. hotels.com i would advise perhaps a review of this hotel especially at hotels asking price.
Good location and value but not great for tourists
Room was small but clean and comfortable. The bed was too firm for my liking. The staff were friendly but not knowledgeable (or spoke english well enough) to help when asked about touristy activities. The location was great , one minute walk to Causeway Bay station for trains and Hennessey street for buses. The hot water tank was tiny, I had to wash my hair in stages. It was also not easy to find the hotel, if it hadn't been for my taxi driver calling I probably never would have found it.
Cheap private room. Small for sure.
+ great location. food and shopping all around. + good price for HK + wifi was weak - hard to find. the photo of the sign on Expedia is actually NOT there any more but there is a smaller one. - toilet did not flush well and shower didn't drain well. Room 12 (apple mini) - loud thin walls. the staff area was right out side my door. I could hear them talking and working all day and early in the morning.
Very accessible
If you want shopping at its best right in the heart of Causeway Bay.
Small cosy friendly clean budget
Staff helpful, room basic decent and clean and as in the pictures (so quite small). Very central location. Had a pleasant stay. Might not so comfortable for a very large or tall person.
Don't bother.
Location is great, right at the heart of Causeway Bay, short walk from MTR. Leaky aircon dripping onto my face whilst asleep was rather unpleasant. Hint: ask for rooms not next to elevator shaft. Surrounded by brothels, plenty of action (the odd noise).
Bad Experience
We stayed a total of 8 nights in Apple Hotel Causeway Bay. We did not sleep well at all during the 8 nights. The air-con and exhaust fan was noisy. There are small cockroaches running around in the room. Shower head was dripping with water and toilet is always wet. After using the toilet and flushing the water keep on running couldn't stop water flow. Pillow was flat and we asked for extra pillow but didn't get any from staff. Overall the experience was bad. However we cannot deny that the location is very convenient 3 minutes walk to MTR station. But due to the protest in Causeway Bay couldn't use the bus and tram.
Apply Hotel HK
Was very hard to check in. Extremely small room, but well appointed.
Ok
too small for the price but OK overall
It's a hostel, not a hotel.
Apple Hotel is ok for an hostel. I booked a standard room, which was actually good for a hostel. The room was clean and plenty big enough for 1 person, but maybe a bit squeezed for 2 people. Apple Hotel sits in a building next to the Apple Mall. Other hostels are in the building. But these hostels are smaller than the ones found in Tsim Tsa Tsui. Great location in Causeway Bay. 5 minute walk from MTR.
Terrible. Door lock is out order! Luggage just left in public area without taken care! Unless budget issue, can easily get a proper hotel in Hkg by paying euro25 a night more, only location is great!
Very small but very clean and comfortable
Room is tiny but has everything you need. Staff are friendly. The location is ok but a bit boring if you are a budget traveler, lots of shopping and luxury brand stores near by.
Tiny tiny tiny room
If you're taller than me, (164cm) I do not recommend it. Even though, the room had two sets of towels and toothbrushes, I don't see how two people can even sleep in there. I couldn't even open my trunk fully. It was clean, aircon, and water pressure was good. The toilet is questionable, cuz I couldn't close the door when I set down in the toilet it was like a human version of tetris.
Good business trip hotel
Hard to find at first but overall good hotel.
Very small room with no window
Room is very small, no window, but bathroom is clean and good size for Hong Kong area. It is a hotel in the apartment and the entrance to the hotel need to pass though others small hotels too. Over all it is good value for the money.
Super small room but great location!!!
The room is basically just the bed and the bathroom. There's almost no room for u to walk if you have a big suit case. But the location is great, couldn't ask for more. Good enough for a short stay I would say.
Not what you will expect: in a good way!
Yes, the lobbies and entrances might not be the cleanness, it is surrounded by 6 - 7 other hostels on different levels, it is all tight and packed together. Within this 'madness' is a clean, comfortable little gem packed with quirky artwork and bright colours - The Apple Hotel! For the price, location and the experience of being a savvy traveller in 'Real Hong Kong': go for it.
Nor bad
Pleasantly surprised. Probably the best ultra budget hotel in HK. Rooms are tiny as expected and surrounded by love hotels. But not bad.
very small
super small,, smallest i've ever stayed in. dirty washroom. cheap price tho i guess.... but ya.. neighbourhood not good. prostitution services on different levels in the same building.. hard to find
Value For Money
It was a little hard to find at first & it was a little noisy. However it was clean, very conveniently located & the area was quite up market right beside Lee Garden. The room was cleaned daily, the hotel is small & has no amenities but there are plenty of places to eat just out side.
You get what you paid for
On transit in HK and needed a place to stay for a few hours. Room was small but clean. Comfortable bed but could be a bit longer ... had to sleep diagonally. 2 pillows, one was too hard, the other much too soft. Aircon was noisy. Overall, not bad if you are just looking for a place to crash for a few hours and not want to pay a lot for it.
good location
Small rooms but clean. Just to sleep nothing more
good and clean
Considering the price paid this is by far the best value for money paid in hong Kong. Small efficient planning and nice and clean.

Small room but clean
Extremely small room, but we booked the day before so they were nice and helped us get a room. But pretty clean and okay to just sleep in.
Trevlig stay
Trevliga värdar som försökte hjälpa till
Very good for the nice price
Nice people working here and they clean the room and make the bed every day, very nice! Room is small but for the price its very good!
terrible but cheap
staff is fine, but too slow facilities and condition = nothing air con is very loud and old, not cold enough dirty and not comfortable

Everything at the hotel worked well: hot water, air conditioning, toilet, etc. The room was small, but for the price and the excellent location - very handy to the metro/subway and busses, and not far from the ferry - this was excellent value for money.
