Place was unsanitary and the room was freezing

Location is more to the country side very quiet and peaceful. Love it clean fresh air. Comfortable clean bed, and sparkling bathroom. This a motel room do not expect 5 star hotel amenities, but it was renovated and clean. It comes with a microwave, small fridge, and a coffee maker.

Affordable and easy and near hiking

This is the 3rd or 4th time we have stayed here, it is close to Pennings Farms which we come to once a year in the fall. The property is nice, quiet and comfortable. We will continue to stay here in the future.

I was attending a reunion at the Blue Arrow Farm in nearby Pine Island, NY. This hotel was only 6 miles away so quite convenient. The room was clean and everything worked as it should. The man told me checkout was 10:30am but I read that it was 11am. I left at 10am so it didn’t affect me.

It is close to the AT for hiking. Warwick is close for shopping and restaurants

Much better than expected. After reading other reviews, I brought my own airbed and sheets... but I didn't need them. The room looked much better than the pictures (but there is no longer a couch) The first room smelled like smoke but not manager's fault someone smoked there. Next room was perfect. Everything was clean, and all the little things were there: Full sets of towels, toiletries, plenty of outlets and USB ports, lights, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker (only enough coffee for one pot). The walls are thin. If you're noise sensitive, bring ear plugs or run the fan unit all night, which is what I did. AC cycles on and off. Luckily I didn't need AC.

I checked in but did not stay. My first room had blood and brown stains on the sheets. The manager made me go back to the room and show him and then said we will clean. When I asked when that would happen he gave me a second room. That room had mold in the shower, a crusty shower head, and cardboard and masking tape shoved in the baseboard heater. Do not stay here. The management grows very upset if you complain about the cleanliness. I did not feel safe after saying I could not stay in either room due to the things described above.

Motels always have ratings that are artificially high compared to Hotels. An 8 rating for a motel would be 6-7 for a hotel. This is true for the Appalachian. Clean and comfortable but scantily furnished. Maintenance issues were obviously taken care of by an unskilled person and appear half-assed. The owner speaks little English and is hard to understand. He can be impatient and rude.

Motel itself is decent but the beds were horrible. I checked into my room and admediately started examing the beds. It was a piss stain on the top of the comforter and when i pulled the comforter back, there were black and brown stains on sheets. I was moved to another room but the comforters there were also dirty. I got a refund and left the property right away.

Clean, Modern and Comfortable

For a small motel in a rural area I admit I had low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised with how clean and modern the room was. Everything was modernized; the furniture, the mattress and bedding, the countertops and fixtures. Though there was an old school air conditioner that wasn't quiet, but fortunately it worked fine. The bathroom vanity was new, though a bigger countertop would have been appreciated. And while the bathroom was clean, the walls had a rough patch job, and the caulking needs to be redone. I checked in super late without an issue and I was able to bring my dog for an additional $25, which I think is fair. I would definitely stay again.

Good value

While the room wasn't pristine or perfect, the defects were very few and quite minor. The bathroom was a pleasant surprise, too, as it was much nicer than average for the room price.

Mostly clean, reasonably comfortable, showel stall is very old, not sure if sheets were fresh... Location is excellent and service was good.

Property is hard to locate using Google and then the turn heading to Vernon to the property is super sharp right hand turn.

The room was very dirty. The show floor was particularly bad, and the linens in one of the beds were dirty. There was dirt on the floor and there was a Burger King cup in the refrigerator.

The property was clean. Sleeping was delightful because it's quiet around the area.

The man who checked us in with a handwritten registration form and a real metal key was very nice. The room was quiet and the bed was comfy. Forgot to bring my pillows and the ones on the bed had seen better days. TV was good. The new, large shower would have been awesome if it appeared clean on the floor. It was cheap and dated. It appeared clean and was fine.

Nice price. Entrance on a road curve, a bit scary.

No one came into the room to change towels or empty trash during my 5 day stay.

Very disappointed

I will start with what I did like and that if the setting of the motel. Beautiful countryside. The negatives as follows:- I was concerned about the use of a multi plug connector with about six different items plugged into it. I was very wary about touching this in case I got a shock. I was worried about security. In nearly all hotel and motels there is an additional method of securing the door as well as the door lock. There was an extra lock at one time but this was broken so it is not a case of not thinking about the extra security. I was irritated by the noise of the bathroom extractor fan. It was quite loud whilst I was awake. When I wanted to go to sleep it was going to be too noisy to sleep. I was not impressed with the lack of care to the property. There were gaps between the sink and the wall. At ground level it looked like they had tried to fill in a gap, which looked a mess. The air conditioner was erratic. i had trouble getting it to work unless I set the temperature down to 62 degrees. It was quite a hot sticky night so I really wanted this to work properly. I didn't think this was a cheap motel. It was quite expensive and didn't even include breakfast. I should have realised this before I arrived. If I had known about the above I would not have booked this motel. I usually tried to ensure I select at least a 7 in rating. I do understand there are issues in running a motel but, to me, the above are just the basics.

Checked in early because I wouldn't arrive at the motel until after 1AM. no problems.

Clean room, nothing more

It was a clean room. The best part of the room was the strong water pressure in the shower.

I was not able to reach the hotel during my travels . Why ?? I was not happy . If I reserve a room at a location , I think I should be able to reach them to talk with them .. I feel this is wrong ! Communication is very important ! I cause hope I'm not charged for this stay , because I did not stay there . Because of lack of communication . Please refund me . I never did stay there !! Basic with good beds.

Beautiful setting. Scary (dangerous) access to driveway off and onto fast curving hillside road. Would benefit from convex traffic mirror opposite driveway. Beds extremely comfortable. Shower good. Everything else adequate, but that's okay with us. Had all we needed.

Shower floor had set in dirt/stains.TV had no volume. Ad discribed laundry facility which the clerk said they don't have and was the main reason I picked it. It was very reasonably priced

stayed here for the spartan races at mountain creek, views are great. Motel is just that , an old motel. it was fine for one night . no real issues , but my expectations weren’t high.

Not the most modern room but definitely great for the value. The price was very reasonable and the room included a mini fridge, small microwave, free WiFi & parking. The motel is located on a hill w/ a nice view of the mountains, etc.

Was a basic place. Five minute drive to all sorts of amenities. Clean property. Being perched on a small hill left out any noise from the road. The best part was the view.

So, you can’t pay for the room in advance. When you check in, they end up charging you more than the price advertised on Expedia.

Exceeded expectations for a hotel at this price point.

They refuse to acknowledge my service animal and charged me fees for having a pet.

Property management was horrendous. Check out time stated 11:00am, manager insisted it was 10:30am. I’ve never experienced a situation like this before, clearly I would never recommend this horrible property. Expedia should end their relationship with them .

It was close to where i had to go

We liked the view of the mountain. There was alot of space to walk the dog. Check in is old school but efficient, just takes longer. We will use again.

Small location with all the amenities you need to a comfortable stay

Inconvenient check in, door was locked to office , had to wait long, after ringing the doorbell. Gentleman was rude and would not answer questions. Also very inpatient.

Pleasantly Surprised

It is a dated place but I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. The area and the room were very clean. The mattress was excellent. It was also quiet. In my room was a microwave and refrigerator. Very close to Warwick NY Main Street.

Very cleanroom. TV remote a bit messed up but got it working. Parking at the door. Check a bit sketchy due to language differences. Phone outside office says pick up for service. Pound on the door for service..

This was our second time staying here, it is convenient for visiting family in the area. Love the quiet and the view of the mountains. Checkout on website says 11am but we were rushed out at 10:30. We were already packing up anyway but didn't understand the rush. This was the only downside to our stay. Please change the checkout time on the website so travelers are better prepared.

Great Find

Renovated, clean, and comfortable, this motel was a great find, especially as it's in a country setting.

Handicapped accessible and staff was friendly and accommodating.

This was a satisfactory hotel if you weren't going to be in the room much. No food available. The hot water took more than 10 minutes to get to the room.

I liked the personal service I received, and, for the price, this was a good choice.

Ti was fine to stay for one or two nights. I think they need better pillows and towels.

Room booked through Expedia was not available when reached the hotel.

The guy to check in barley knew English, The room was out dated. Do t think beds were made since last people checked out. Think if time inbetween stays atleast clean the beds again so no dust hair ext. coke machine outside window, and some random noise in celling all night. No cleaning of rooms while gone. So no new towels, no place to throw trash away or food ext. definitely would not stay again

As a hiker, I didn’t expect much and received my expectations. The price was a bit high for the obviously older facility. For walkers, it was not close to restaurants,stores, or laundry facilities. Although it is not the fault of the motel, the roadways are a bit dangerous for walkers as there is little room to escape traffic. They did not clean the room or make a bed in the three days we were there.

Group of 4. Really nice and quiet. Beds and rooms are comfy. Would definitely recommend. Would suggest to the owner to put bigger trash cans and change of bags in rooms and a recycling bin.

We had a room with 2 Queen beds. Everything was neat and clean. It had a refridgerater & microwave. The woman at the front desk was very sweet and helpful.

The first rm bathrm was dirty so we were given a 2nd rm bathroom was clean but the floor was filthy. The owner banged on the door the 2nd night at 530am to say we were smoking (we were sleeping) he stepped on my bed while i was in it to reach the smoke detector. Was very very unprofessional and rude. There was objects stil in the room from previous visitors the light next to bed didnt work the door was gapped open so cold air flowed in all night. Overall the worst experience i have ever had. I will b following up with this as he violated my personal space while i was in bed and that is unacceptable. He was trying to intimidate us because it was just us to women on a trip.

The faucet in the bathroom sink had hardly enough water pressure and there was no hot water. The shower had hot water but the sliding door did not work . Overall room was nice and clean

Good view out the front door

I like where it is located simply because of my obligation to be in the area for business. It’s very safe and well lit at knight. The first impression that I get driving up is good. When I open the door and look for inside, it looks ok. However once inside you will quickly see the lack attention given to cleanliness. Sink water was at a trickle. Shower water low pressure. Stains on what used to be white towels. It actually felt and looked disgusting. No dusting is being done at all. The beds are another problem. They aren’t comfortable. The sheets and blankets are also looking pretty bad. So this is my assessment of what I get to see whenever I stay there. The convince of this location for the business I conduct is the only reason that I keep going back.

The motel was very comfortable, clean and reasonably price! My only tip is that calling the motel is a bit tricky but should not be held against the motel, they are a very sweet group of people doing their best!

Bad motel stay

The day we arrived the manager could not find our reservation because it had not been updated.He argued that my service dog (I am blind) had not been added to the reservation and he must charge a fee for him ( the fee I really didn't care about, but the attitude he took bothered me). We went to our room and found the room looked nice. Then we found there was no heat in the bathroom, very little water pressure in the sink and no hot water in the sink. The next day after visiting our family, we returned to find the bed h as d not been made and no fresh towels had been laid out. The coffee pot, which was dirty when we arrived, was still dirty and the trash baskets were still full from the night before. We were supposed to stay from Nov 15 - Nov 20, but my husband let him know we were checking out on the 17th. We slept on the floor at our daughter's house the rest of the week, it was warmer, cleaner and had hot water. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will not stay there again!!!!

The bedding was dirty and when ask for it to be changed, the sheets were changed but not the blanket and questionably the bed spread. I was concerned about head lice mites. The room was poorly vacuumed. Somewhat better when I asked them to vacuum the room. Corners and between the bed and night stands still appeared the same. Room had refrig & microwave but can't remember if advertised. TV, no wifi that I could determine. Owner friendly. Nice location. Quiet.

Bare bones nothing fancy at all. Check in was old school and i found the owner to be pleasant unlike some of the other reviews. Negatives are: not the cleanest room or towels, musty odor and the biggest negative is the window that does NOT lock! I am a solo female traveler and i felt very unsafe as this is a ground level motel easily accessible for some one to slide the window and enter your room. Please fix this ASAP room 101 Pros: bathroom updated. Easy access to hiking, i actually slept like a baby. All in all it was an ok experience for the value.

Nasty Dirty Shower Unfriendly People

The guy that works there Doesn't Understand English at all. The room itself looked clean. The shower was DISGUSTING the doors and tile looked as if they were Never Cleaned. Our 2nd night there we were the Only ones since the manger left. Good thing we didn't need anyone. I WOULDN'T recommend this place At All

I liked the location and convenience, but I did not like the additional charge $25 per night for my dog
