Off the Main Street. Quiet, comfortable, breakfast was good with choices. Big cinnamon rolls too. The staff was really the best part - so friendly.
Cute western atmosphere
A cute welcoming motel. The area was quiet and a few blocks off of busy Main Street. Western theme was fun. The pool was nice. It also offered a small fenced in area for pets to be off leash. Staff members were very friendly and helpful. I guess my only negative was the cost. The rooms were a little pricey and They charge $50 per night per pet. I can’t imagine what they could do differently to clean up. There is no carpeting in the room. I could see a pet deposit just in case but $50 per night is too much for me.
Absolutely loved this place! Off the main road and well maintained. You will enjoy your stay here.
Good location. Staff very nice. Clean but outdated. For the price well worth it.
Stayed here with my dog for a night on a roadtrip. Loved the whole vibe of the place-the staff was very friendly and helpful. There’s a small dog run in the back of the property and a bark park not even a mile from the motel. Bed was comfy!
Very clean, old time charm
Moab is a cute little town, the Motel a little bit off the Main Road, which is a good for a quiet night and still very walkable to a good choice of dining options
The rooms were nice. The street is a bit busy.
Well-done theme. Expected it to be cheesy, it was quite tasteful.
I love that it was a bit far from main street, it was quiet and peaceful. I love the cinnamon rolls and croissant for breakfast but you ha ve to be there before 8:30 am or you won't get cinnamon rolls, the do not fill the tray by that time. Also, the room was clean and smelled good when we came in and there were many garbage cans available for us.
Nancy is the best, she has been there for us year after year and always assist's in every way possible. Great hotel and the Owner Burke does a great job with maintaining the history of the property. Have stayed for many years and will continue each and every year for EJS
Pool and bfast area outside amazing. Burke was very helpful met him later at store I felt like family here
Great stay for price and location. Not super fancy but walkable to downtown (but far enough away to be quiet) and great amenities - light breakfast included, pool, lounge area, and super nice people working all around. Highly recommend for stay in Moab.
Loved the motel - such personality as it was built in 1950s. The pool was warm and just perfect to enjoy outside. I would always stay there if going to Moab area.
Love the vintage vibe
Overall amazing experience. I like that the location is away from Main Street. The room was clean and the staff were extremely helpful. The kids loved the heated pool as well. The night time wood fire and s'mores were a hit. Thanks Apache Motel!
Comfy rooms!
The rooms are a little dated, but the beds and pillows were very comfortable! There was plenty of room and it was in a quiet neighborhood. The price was very good compared to many other hotels! It was pet friendly which was very nice. I would stay there again!
Loved the theme - friendly service - just wish we had more time to spend there.
Nice property and dog friendly too.
We love this old gem. Perfect spot for when you get snowed out of your campground.
Mobility & dirty beat out tasty cinnamon rolls!
MOBILITY ISSUES: there is no handicap access to the second floor rooms. The carpeting desperately needs replaced in the room we had. Microwave & coffee pot had no electricity. Toilet & tub were both older than me & im NOT young. Breakfast cinnamon rolls were tasty! Lots of money for what you get. We understand old but not dirty.
Melanie Mundt 11:18 AM (28 minutes ago) to me It was quiet, being five blocks off the main street. The room was clean, with plenty of room to store suitcases and backpacks. The grab-and-go breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. Each night the hotel staff would have a fire pit with free s'mores. Free bikes for bikerides around Moab, hammocks and books by the pool, BBQ grill and seasonings free for hotel guests. I would come again!
Staff was very nice. Catered to our fur babies. Room was comfortable but apparent that it was an older facility.
Overall, a great trip. We had car issues heading out and we weren't sure we were going to make it and they held their stance on no cancelations which was frustrating. We had to figure out how to get back home ( an hour and a half away) to get our other vehicle to then drive back 6.5 hours. Not a great start. The facilities were a fun throw back to days gone by. We enjoyed the heated pool and fire pit with smores and it was a great location. When I asked the front desk for recommendations for favorite hikes or destinations, her response was, 'just go to the visitors center, theyll give you tips' which didn't open for another hour. So much for getting out early to hike! Other than that, the other desk staff was very friendly and seemed to do their best to make visitors feel welcome. I would stay here again if we came back, but i saw it's up for sale so not sure what the status will be at that point. Thanks for an overall great stay
We loved our stay at Apache Motel! The bikes were one of our favorite parts due to it allowing for easy transportation around town. The owners stopped and spoke with us multiple times during our stay. We would definitely recommend and hope to be back!
I stayed for 2 nights,
Good location
Clean, comfortable, the air con was a bit temperamental but overall good stay. Well located
Great quiet location minutes away from the “busy downtown area”. Great parks within walking distance. The property is very dog-friendly, equipped with a small dog park, dog washing station. We happened to experience a power outage over several counties while we were there and felt completely safe. They have a fire pit that you can roast marshmallows and make s’mores.
Very clean, great staff support, good price.
The room that was provided was extremely clean and neat. The front desk was friendly. All in all, it was a good say for the price. There are two teepees in the back and they brought charm to the place.
Cute inexpensive place to stay in an expensive town. My room was close to reception but surprisingly quiet. The location is perfect- close enough to walk to restaurants and shops but set back on a quieter street. Very dog friendly, I will stay here again next time I'm in Moab.
Affordable find in Moab
Older, but comfortable motel a few blocks from the hustle and bustle of Main St. that's quite affordable compared to other hotels/motels in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a small gift shop in the office that includes some beverages and snacks. Breakfast in the morning is grab and go (trays provided)...coffee/tea, yogurt, fruit, croissants, home-made cinnamon rolls, cereal & milk. We had our own bikes, but they do have some cruiser bikes you can borrow to ride around town. Outside there's a heated pool, but it was still a bit chilly and I didn't use it. My friend made use of their bike wash station and had everything she needed. The only small complaint I have is that the second floor mustn't have good padding under the carpet, so if you were on the first floor, you could hear every footstep. Maybe a future owner will keep that in mind when they purchase the motel? PS - They are selling the motel because the owners are ready to do some of their own traveling. It could be a good investment for someone looking for a business in a tourist area.
We love it 😍😍😍😍 Dreaming to go back again 🥺 Ps. Howdy ☺️
Very nice. Clean, good shower. Excellent price.
The only place to stay in Moab. Throwback to old Moab and a gem. The owners are incredible. Skip the chain hotels, stay local and enjoy this charming and delightful hotel. You will not be disappointed.
Very clean, comfortable, affordable, friendly staff.
The staff is especially nice and welcoming. The room is clean and comfortable.
John Wayne loves rejoice!
It was a fun road side John Wayne themed motel with the sweetest check in lady. The room was fun and rustic with that old timey flare.
Unique Motel. Very reasonable price. Convent location. Very Pleasant staff.
Apache motel is a historic site. It's a couple of blocks from Main Street which has stores, hotels, restaurants. It is very noisy there. The motel is in a quiet residential area. The Arches National Park is close by. The Canyonland National Park is about a half hour drive. We enjoyed our stay at the motel.
Love this motel!
Friendly staff and quite place
Great value and friendly staff
The staff make you feel so welcome and are lovely good people. Breakfast rocks! The pool is very warm and the pool are is very clean and a great place to hang out. They provide clean pool towels which is unique for a motel. The fires they build in the evening are fantastic and a firendly way to meet ther guests and unwind. A lovely place to stay!
Clean room
Staff always greered us with the smile on their face. Friendly people, they answered any unusual request.
Such a cute, authentic experience
Like the good ole days!!
Loved staying at this Motel. Service , service , amazing! Great charm, immaculate. Loved the firepit, availability of bikes , for free! Good walkaway breakfast.
In all honesty I can not recommend Apache Motel. We were traveling to Moab with our two dogs and chose Apache because they advertised an off-leash dog park on site. More on that later. We get there to check in and were given a room that had the strongest chemical smell you can imagine. Cleaning supplies I’m sure, but it was incredibly unpleasant and strong smells are a migraine trigger for me so had I stayed in that room, I would’ve been throwing up within an hour. My husband talked to the front desk and they had the hardest time understanding the issue. They offered the option of using another smell to try to overpower the chemical smell - not helpful. He asked for a fan and they gave him a heater. Also not helpful. So he asked for another room instead, they said they didn’t have one for 2 nights. So he asked for a refund, they said they couldn’t do that. So he asked if there was a room we could stay in for just 1 night and then move to our original room the next night, hoping the smell would be gone by then. Finally that was resolved. I don’t have much room left but the front desk also couldn’t tell us where the on-site dog park was, and instead directed us to one several blocks away. The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows sucked, but the one positive I can say is the shower pressure was nice. Everything else sucked and I will never stay here again. I thought it would have a local funky vibe but there are much better places in the area for the same price. I’d avoid this one
Very nice vintage motel. Clean quiet and comfortable. Would recommend
Good place to stay in Moab
Our second visit here this year. Nice service, delightful pastries at breakfast, pool, bonfires at night and they’ll loan you a bike to get around the area. And Moab is a great destination for hikers, bikers and people who enjoy great scenery.
Staff was amazing! Cute little Place with a lot of history. S’more each night around the fire pit to share stories about adventures
Very nice small motel
Very nice small old fashioned motel. Great service from friendly staff. Carmel rolls at breakfast are great.
Quaint old style motel thats very well kept. Staff is unbelievably friendly and take care of all of your needs
Would Stay Again
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff who seemed to genuinely like their job. The room was very clean. It is a little outdated, but that is part of the charm of this vintage hotel where John Wayne used to stay!
Stayed for two nights Easy walk to downtown
a bit too vintage to my taste, but the staff is very accommodating and welcoming. It was a good value for Moab area during busy season of the fall 2024
Great place to stay. Would absolutely go back.
A great piece of Americana. Great staff. Fire pit and s'mores Walk to down town John Wayne stayed there
Nice breakfast croissants and cinnamon rolls. Very nice little motel. Only one comment, Shower head was too powerful, making it painful to shower.
Great place! Overpriced, though
Wonderful stay. wonderful staff! Just a few things for them: Please bring in housecleaners to refresh the room--you don’t need to change the sheets or towels (saving water!), but to come back to a clean hotel, with replenished supply of coffee and paper towels would be much appreciated! For travelers: We paid $189 in October for a budget hotel (as funky and fun as it is!), which I think is overpriced. One good thing is the in-house cinnamon rolls and little croissants available in the lobby, with fresh coffee, too.
Great motel with good location, friendly staff, cool asthetic, and good breakfast.
Apache
Visited before. Love the historic ambience.

Very nice and clean. Quiet and peaceful. The price is reasonable.
Loved the hotel!!
Not bad
I would definitely stay here again just the feeling of being welcomed and nostalgic flair.
Excellent place to stay near Arches National Park only 10 minute drive
Old furnishings
Room was clean; property in decent shape. However, the furnishings are very old and the mattress needs replacing. So the bed was very uncomfortable for us. We suspect since it is for sale, nothing has been updated.
In a good location.
Quirky little place and Moab is fantastic. We arrived a little early and asked if the room was ready, we were told yes it’s ready but you’ll need to pay another $25 because you’re early! We’ve stayed at 9 different hotels on this trip and no other has tried to charge extra for being early. We declined and went back later. Also we didn’t think the breakfast was up to much in comparison to the other places we have stayed. it was just crossaint or porridge with yogurt and oranges. Other than this the place is nice, we only stayed 1 night .
Its alright
Staff was outstanding and prompt when dealing with our issue. The AC was not exactly working. They were quick to fiddle with it and delivered a fan to help. Unfortunately, it took awhile for the room to cool off. Other than that, we'd stay again.

Great old fashioned motel
This is an old school motel, and it was great. If you're looking for the latest updated rooms, go to a cookie cutter chain. If you want something different and like to support small businesses, we would highly recommend. Great staff, and very clean room. We had the John Wayne Suite, very spacious with a king bed in a separate room, as well as a queen, full size futon, and a roll away. Desk hours are limited between 3 and 9 for check in, but they communicated well to ensure when our arrival was. Grab and go breakfast with coffee, oatmeal croissants, and really good cinnamon rolls. On the National Register of Historic places, and be ready for a lot of John Wayne decor - he used to stay here while filming and also on vacations.
As I recall, Hotels in this area were expensive and Apache was the most affordable with a decent rating. It looks old school and when you pull up, the area doesn't seem like a hotel type area, but it's fine. They've done a great job of playing up the John Wayne theme there and there are alot of nice little touches that makes it unique: pool, free bikes, firepit, nice grilling area, and even their breakfast was better than nothing, and kudos to offering hard boiled eggs...if you were desperate for protein, there you go. The rooms were a bit dated but it did the job. Moab is a small town, so it's just around the corner from shopping/food. They were nice and arranged a late check in for me with no issues. Would stay here again.
Great lil property in the middle of Moab. The room was quite large, nicely appointed, and great character. The wood beams and variety of quilts in every room make it unlike your typical cookie cutter hotels/motels. And the location couldn't be better and was walkable to tons of restaurants in the downtown area-- there was even a pedestrian only path connecting to the downtown, along a quaint shaded waterway. I would definitely stay again if in Moab!!
Great rooms
Cool place with lots of personality. Nice to stay at a property which is not part of a chain for once. Very friendly staff happy to help in any way. Not crowded and nice pool to hang out in peace.
Great stay for Duke fans
Great place to stay if you are a John Wayne fan. First Motel in Moab to house movie stars filming in Moab. Has character
Great stay at the Apache
Loved the John Wayne vibe!
Perfect!
This has been my favorite hotel/motel of all of our vacation this summer! I loved it and did not want to leave. Clean, and I especially loved the decor~ I would recommend highly.
The perfect stay!!
Absolutely the cutest motel ever!!! Loved the service and loved the adorable motif.
Desk clerk was great. Room is clean. Good location for what i needed, not on main street, not in the busy part of town! I will stay here again!!
Perfect!
This has been my favorite hotel/motel of all of our vacation this summer! I loved it and did not want to leave. Clean, and I especially loved the decor~ I would recmmend highly.
No frills, but perfect for a night
Check in was quick and easy. Plenty of parking available. Room was dated, but clean enough. Good shower pressure. Beds were ok for a one night stay. Grab and go breakfast was a nice perk. We did not have time for the pool, but it appeared clean. Bike wash and dog wash were available in back. Ice was available for purchase. Fire pits were available for use. Well lit.
Very unique hotel and very nice staff!
Check in staff were excellent. The property is a bit dated, but I knew that from the reservation.
Hollywood/John Wayne motifs makes it a unique motel. Apparently most employees also live on-site but in the backside of the motel. Room are large with table, chairs, large dresser. We made use of the large mini fridge and microwave. Grab & go breakfast was ideal for leaving early for the national parks
Great stay at Apache Motel.
We really enjoyed our stay at Apache Hotel. The furniture is a bit dated but that is the vibe they are looking for. The room was clean and comfortable. We loved the fresh cinnamon rolls and croissants every morning for breakfast. The best part of the hotel is the amazing staff! They were very helpful and accommodating!
We stayed here 9 years previously. The property has new owners, it is very clean. Nice job on breakfast options and John Wayne souvenirs. Would stay again!!
It was ok
What a neat motel!
Off the main road in Moab, it’s a nice quiet motel that has a retro vibe. The room was brightly painted and had western paintings above the beds. The tile work in the bathroom was very new and well done, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Great stay very helpful sttaff
Fabulous staff. Kitschy vintage. Great stay! A couple things are a little tired but would stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay. Weather was nice so it was an easy walk to restaurants
Such a special, unique experience. Customer service was over-the-top. We will b back!
This is the second time we have stayed at the Apache and we really enjoyed our stay, It’s within walking distance to the heart of Moab but out of the busy main drag. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is an older property with a Western theme but wonderfully maintained. The outdoor pool area was nice and even has a barbecue for our use. Thanks!
Everything was great and the staff very pleasant and helpful.
We recently stayed 3 nights here as we explored the National Parks around Moab. Nancy was at front desk when we checked in and she was there every morning making sure the coffee carafe was full and baking and frosting the daily cinnamon rolls. We were pleasantly surprised to find our room (#17 on the second floor) ready when we arrived at 1:30 PM. There are no elevators so we carried our luggage up the stairs to our room. The bed was comfortable, the curtains blocked out the light, and the bath towels and wash cloths were thick. There was no housekeeping service while we were there, but we could ask at the front desk if we needed anything (such as additional toilet paper). The bathroom had a liquid soap dispenser by the sink and the tub/shower had dispensers of shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. The curved shower curtain provided more room while in the shower. Our floor creaked in a few places so we hopefully weren’t disturbing the guests who had the room below us. There wasn’t much street noise so we were able to get a good nights rest. The only issue we had was the bathroom’s electrical outlet only had electricity when the light switch was turned on. We had to plug the night light that we brought with us in an outlet the main bedroom, which lit up our sleeping area more than we liked. We enjoyed the breakfast options of coffee, tea, hot chocolate & juice boxes; fresh fruit (oranges and bananas), yogurt, oatmeal, boiled eggs, croissants, and fresh baked cinnamon rolls.
Clean room, friendly staff at check in.
Loved the historical charm. Room was clean and bed was relatively comfortable. Heard too much noise, especially from room upstairs… sounds of every footstep and luggage being moved was constant… possibly due to flooring being laminate and not carpet.

We stayed one night and it was amazing! Classic property in great shape with friendly staff and a warm pool! Simple but just right breakfast. Walkable to Main Street and quieter than being right in town. We will be back!
