Staff are so helpful and polite. Rooms furniture and facilities are new. I can say it was amazing. I will use these services in future as well when required and strongly recommend for any one who ever need to stay in best facilities with low budget.
All I’m. Decent pricing
Very clean and affordable. Friendly staff.
This hostel was quite possibly the worst place I’ve stayed. The surrounding area left a lot to be desired, the noise in the hotel was constant, the parking needed pre booking which was not advised when booking the stay, the rooms were incredibly warm, you could barely see out of the windows as they were filthy and when you opened them the latches were damaged. The queues to check in were long and the self check in was not available.
You pay for what you get
Hard to complain given the overall cost, but the beds and rooms could be significantly better. Beds could be more comfortable, and rooms got very hot and musty and need better airflow (either A/C or fans). The public amenities are nice, and the location is fairly accessible
Great property for staying with kids for a night or 2, clean and safe. Parking was easy on the street.
Unpleasant stay with unpleasant staff.
Poor check-in experience, with the staff generally very unhelpful with various issues. The common room is decent though if you're travelling in a group.
Gut
Enjoyed Stay
The hostel was clean and quiet. Plenty of room for our family of four and in walking distance to the center of town and train station.
Room: Family, was spacious and clean (wc ok) Location: 2km from the railway station by foot 30min, by tram 10min Staff: great!
Not worthy of the other a&o hostel s
The guest kitchen was disgusting no dish soap to wash dishes no utensils to cook no wash cloths limited pots and pans to cook with
So far so good. Neae backerei where it open on Sunday.
After a long day of travel and delays, we were not able to check in to our hotel room as they gave it up to another group. This was also after messaging the hotel before we arrived and telling them that we would be checking in after midnight.
It was perfect for a couple of days. Good location easy transport links
Basic but clean rooms.
Private room was large with a small bathroom. Two single beds with two duvets as is standard in Western Europe It was very clean. Two stops from the main train station byU Bahn.
Very bad experience in this hostel. Me and a friend stayed for two nights and both of us had extremely unpleasant nights running our trip to Stuttguart. Starting from the reception who were not able to find a booking in the system and made me wait 10 minutes. Moreover, my friend booked a female only room by paying EXTRA AMOUNT but the next morning she found a male in their room and the hostel staff were aware of that. My room was supposed to be a hostel room, however the next day an entire family was is my room with kids which was very uncomfortable. Also, I paid for the bed sheets but they were not clean. I suggest you to stay in another place if you can. The only good thing is that the hostel in near the train station.
It was amazing! Comfortable place
one of the worst rooms i have ever booked. room walls are from paper, u can hear everything from the room next you. window glass is not isolated and when someone smokes, room is full of smoke. light in the room is very low u can pearly see. no window curtains. the only positive thing is the price which is by the way not so cheap but ok.
Recommended!
Location is very nice, staff, cleanliness & value of money are very good
Good price for a spacious room
Spent one night with two kids (teenagers <16), room was spacious and clean, service was good. Breakfast was standard. I wouldn't expect more for the price.
Nice
Basic but nice. No issues
You get what you pay for
3 of my roommates were living there essentially. The room was ridiculously hot and no Ac so we had to sleep with the window open. And with being on the first floor anyone could easily climb through the window while we slept. So that was a fear. It was either that or sleep in extreme heat. The kitchen was a mess. Didn’t even bother cooking anything. If you stay there just don’t have any real expectations.
the most cost effective accommodation
Good for family trip. Nice accessibility to the city center and well equipped various in-house convenient facilities. Above all, the price is the most attractive given its level of service and facility.
Value for money, our stay was comfortable and we received good service. Only downside is lack of parking space.
Could be better
Internet was not working at the rooms. Rooms are not very clean (because of other guests) Towels were not clean
Hotel/Hostel
Booked this hotel due to it’s proximity to the train station and a venue for a music gig we were going to. Although we had a private room with en-suite it is a hostel with just beds available if required. It’s not in a particularly picturesque part of town but it suited our needs. Reception was very helpful, our room was clean, modern and serviceable. If you just want somewhere to put your head down then you can’t go wrong with this!
Not your best option
Door to room was broken yet even after advising them to stop putting more persons in the room they kept piling them in and the door got worse. Kitchen is quite unpleasant and needs new pots and pans. It just looks left..
Not a Place you should stay.
Door to room was left broken and open the entire 3 day stay. They kept adding guests to a 6 bed room even though the door was broken and they entered at all hours of the night. The checkin desk was notified that the door was broken and they did nothing but increase the mess by adding guests to the room continuously Beds are not comfortable at all. Not to mention that since they are metal they make noises all night the slightest movement by a person. The kitchen is a joke. People steal your food and the place is generally left with dirty pots and pans and dishes.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Somewhat convenient to places to eat, tram, and main train station.
Fine for me
Comfortable enough clean dorm. Bit strange that there was a double bed included in the dorm. No towels or bedding provided, but I had my own and no issues using it. Obviously if you don't it will add to the cost.
I think as an american tourist, who isnt a back packer I had to adjust my expectations, as I was not able to find a "higher end" hotel in the area. This is more of a back packer hipster uptrend hotel, it is very cheap and hence very basic. The room had idea esque furnature that functions fine but lacks some nice stuff like a place to hang a jacket ect. The beds are OK they are not amazing, but everything is clean, and in working order, just a bit spartan, but for the money I have no complaints. I was there to sleep and charge my phone between enjoying the Porsche and Merc Museums and Tours for 2 days. Its close to the train line and 2 stops from the main station. The wifi worked good and there is a really good pizza place up the street. Also be aware the walls are very thin, you can and will hear people doing something as simple as talking, that is probably my only complaint, so be aware or bring headphones or earplugs if you sleep light. Also since this hotel is huge and geared toward mainly cheap people, the lobby is very full of people using all the free services and sitting in the lobby areas making it look unlike many hotels which are more ghost like in their appearance save for staff. The staff where very nice, but they always seem to never have enough people up front for the amount of people they have flowing in there. I prob wouldn't stay there again just due to the lack of a comf bed and thin walls, but it certainly wasn't a bad spot. Its cheap and it worked.
NOT FOR COUPLES or Small Groups
Check-in was a disaster... A tour bus arrived just before us(1 of 3 that we saw during our 1 night stay), and the 2 front desk employees were overwhelmed and unfriendly. The room was not what we booked (they put us in a quad room, but thankfully did not assign 2 additional guests) but worked for 1 night. Hotel targets large groups. I emailed a question about the possibility of changing the day to 1 day earlier over a week before our stay, and did not get a response until 4 days after we had checked-out.
It was clean and modern. I appreciated having breakfast in the morning. The only negative thing was the noise in the corridor. The doors are not soundproof and people are not respectueuse of those sleeping.
Average
The room was great and clean. However, when I checked in I had to wait long time and there was long queue. During that time there were a lot of flies in the reception which gave me a sense that the place is not clean. For two night stays I had the flyies always there in the reception and the hotel didn't take any action to solve it
A good value for the price. Mostly families chose this property.
Nice 2 Stars Hostel
Ok for couple of days as long as you are going to stay the entire day outside Non comfortable mattress Rooms very hot in summer season Funny LCD TV with a size of about 17” Good location very close to tram station with few stops to the main trains station HBF
Family stay accommodating many!
This was a decent stay close to the city and mall just down the street. The hotel/hostel is remodeling , understandably so, I feel that the inside could have been more tidy for customers. The room was nice and new, exactly hoe it was pictured. The linen is given to you to put on the items within the room which isnt stated previously(Very different for Americans). Its not that expensive and if you have a place you need to take many travelers this would probably be the most accommodating location for the price. The surrounding area isnt bad but within the evenings since it is a hostile. Many youth loiter outside of the area. I would do this again for family trips. The condition and cleanliness is lower because of the amount of items laying around as if you are within construction zone and they were actively working.
Popular hotel. Clean. Fast internet. Recommend for good value

Very straight forward Very clean hostel And very vocal staff and helpful Good value of what I paid
Good value
Good location close to the station. We needed to return a rental car early in the morning, so needed to be close. Parking was available at the front of the building. It was pretty quiet and the room was comfortable. Not a lot of eateries within walking distance but pizza / pasta place was OK. Reception / common area was large / open and friendly - you could get a drink or ice cream for reasonable price.
Perfectly fine

Very clean and friendly
Very clean and friendly
Thanks from Brian in Dorchester
Extremely helpful staff and spotless venue. Quiet night (I was lucky because they were not too busy on a Sunday night). Excellent bathroom facilities. Reasonably priced too!
Nice stay in Stutgartt
Very clean, friendly staff, nice location.
The check in was very prompt. The quality of the room was good. It was clean and well maintained. Staff were polite and helpfull.
Excellent front desk staff who gave us advice about parking options
Services
The Hostel is located very close to train station (uban) to go to the city centre & other shopping centre..Breakfast is good but the staffs at the reception are too litle especilly at night shift. as a result the service were poor. I also noticed many people were complaining Overall it's good value for holiday makers
Pretty noisy and not quite clean.
Clean!
The space really clean and spacious. Toilet and shower room are good!
Simple but clean
Nothing spectacular but good location and clean We had a room on the ground floor which was annoying as we had the whole time people smoking in front of our window
Nice place for a short stay with helping staff
Very nice with clean rooms and a good social gathering places and well prepaired breakfast
Stuttgart
Great stay at A&O, some noise overnight from nearby construction but shutting the window stopped this being an issue. Very large room for 2 people, pleasant stay with great transport links.
Quite satisfied
The room was small, the bathroom and bedsheets were clean, but the window and curtains were dirty. The location is good (walking distance to the centre and the zoo) apart from the traffic noise. There wes no safety fence on the upper bunk bed (could be a problem for little children). Overall, we were quite satisfied with the hostel compared to its price.
It was super bad experience...they put men and women together in the same room...besides that, the room was super super smelly
Rude staff (specially the night shift)
I had a terrible experience at this hotel specially with the manager in duty during the night of Dec 29th. Me with my another female friend and two kids were having our dinner in the common dining area and just went to the counter for purchasing a bottle of water where this particular person misbehaved as well as made fun of me infront of his other fellow-workers. When we tried to stop him he threatened us. We felt very unsafe but it was too late in the night to leave though my plan was to do the checkout at regular time but I didn’t wait until then and left the hotel as early as possible around 5am and soent rest of my morning at another place to be safe though I had yo pay extra.. Very very disappointed.
Good for a minimal experience. No frills. Room was clean, staff friendly, tram was close so we were able to get to the Christmas Market. We had to make our own beds though and ask for more towels. They had laundry facility in the basement, but only one machine. After 90 min in the dryer we gave up with damp clothes. It was ok, and for 5 of us the price was decent, but doubt I would stay again if there were options.
Christmas visit.
Hotel was basic but internet was bad even though it said you had free high speed WIFI. Good if you only wanted somewhere to sleep.
Paper check in slows the proces when more people getting in on same time. Giving paper to pre-fill than just filling up when our turn would make the life nicer.
Overall an ok stay. No real atmosphere for solo travellers and no lockers in the room. Not much around the local area but there is a lidl down the road, and it's not too far from the main station or new shopping area. Toilets and shower were clean and staff were friendly and happy to help.
Quick stay in Stuttgart.
A simple over-night stop in Stuttgart. Conditions of the A&O were fine - nothing to shout about - very minimalist, but clean and quiet.
Mr
The hotel was smelly ( including the room) and stuff was rude and not professional. No parking
Youth Hostel!
This is NOT a hotel! It is a youth hostel!!! Front desk tried to charge us again for the room even though we paid through the website. Room smelled of old dirty gym socks and b.o. No air conditioning, no fan and no ventilation. It was super hot and musty. Next to a train station but otherwise nothing else around. Bathroom was clean. Would NOT recommend for a family stay. Got 7 hours of uncomfortable, hot sleep and got the heck out.
A&O is recommended for budget priorty stays.
Perfomance/price is high
Bad experience
I believe it should be removed from Expedia listings. It is a hostel type and mainly for students. Not for Families, so Expedia should not list for Families
Good clean value
Clean functional room. Dim lighting. Small TV. Friendly helpful if sometimes understaffed staff.
Good room for the price
Good location 20 minute walk from the train station that was mostly through a nice park. The rooms were simple and clean with IKEA like decor and a dorm like feel. The only downside was occasional loud people walking by in the hallway at night, there being no sound dampening carpet or doors in the place. We would stay here again because the price was so good.
Great location. 3 tram stops from the city.
It was great. Very easy to get to. Clean as. 5 minutes tram from city.
Convinient, clean, nice area
Good budget hotel, Good location, Good area. Noise level is a little loud sometimes. No safe.
More of a Hostel than a hotel
Hotel front desk was overwhelmed at check-in hour. I was assigned a room that had not been cleaned. I was quickly given a prepared room when I brought the problem to the front desk staff's attention. The two rooms that I was assigned had twin beds and two sets of bunk beds. The rooms were huge but beds were uncomfortable. Hotel was not within walking distance of train station or Christmas Markets.
Good basic place to lay your head at night
Hostel is large, rather institutional in flavor, not a lot of charm or character. But that said the staff was very helpful and friendly. There is a decent kitchen, and the room was good sized with a comfortable bed. If you need a place, at a fair price, just to lay your head at night, the hostel is fine. If you are looking for something with more character, this is not the place.
Clean. Friendly. Loud
Friendly staff, the room clean, warm, dry, and relatively spacious given the low price for the city centre location. Good shower. However it was very loud at night. People shouting at each other across the hallway outside the rooms until around 1 am. The hallway a single broad and long stretch from the lobby to the rooms with no doors to block out the noise from the lobby or the hallway (or if there were any doors, there were not closed). I would also recommend some form of access controls via swipe cards. I returned to the hotel at 11.30 pm and was able to walk in, and all the way to my room without any checks whatsoever.
Insecure Check-in System, Cold Room, No Hot Water
I checked in at the hotel, got a room key, and went to the room. I unlocked the door with the key, and it worked, however there were already people inside. They said, their room was also the same. I went to the front again; the staff said there had been a system trouble the day before, and it assigned the same room to me and them (I still cannot understand why such a stupid thing happened). She searched another room, and said, "there are no extra rooms, we will take your room in another hotel, although I don't know how far it is from here." Her behavior was very rude, I felt. I said okay, as I had no more options. Luckily she eventually found another room in the same hotel, and I could stay at the same hotel, but it was really unpleasant experience. This event made me nervous about their security (I could open the other people's door that they already check in). There were no internal locks. I put something in front of the door so I could notice if someone opened the door. Other disappointing things are: 1) no hot water in the room, and 2) heating system was not working (my stay was early winter).
Clean and functiona
Rooms are very clean, tall ceilings and laminate floors so not very cosy. Staff are very friendly and helpful, located almost opposite an U-Bahn station so very easy access to Stuttgart (one change to Canstatter Wassen) This is also a Hostel; no safes in rooms but valuables can be stored at reception, there are also large lockers and a baggage room, bedroom cupboards can be locked if you take your own padlock. TLDR: Functional and convenient, not very cozy.
Comfortable enough.
It's exactly what it says... a hostel hotel. Basic amenities, minimal decor. It's a place to lay your head at night. It's quiet and comfortable with a few late night partyers hanging out in front and in the lounge.
Loved this place and will stay here again on my next trip to Stuttgart
Very clean and convenient hotel.
outside appearance does not really do it justice, I booked nine rooms for myself and colleagues with not one moan, all rooms were comfortable and very clean including the shower rooms. we all would stay again. the breakfast option was also good and would recommend,, so in a nutshell we could not find anything to complain about,, thank you
Convenient and Clean Hostel
When travelling in a large group, the A&O was a very convenient way to stay in Stuttgart - we booked 2 rooms, each for 4 people. Very convenient and clean, and free wifi!
Simple and fair
Simple with cheap price. Everything present. Would be great if they provide need linen for all beds. Lockers provided. Bathroom and toilet separated.. Which is good. Toiletries provided. Handkerchief and towels provided for some beds
Clean room but zero facilities
It looked very nice at the beginning and very close to the U bahn station. But as soon as you step in you have to pay €3.50 for the bed sheets, yes they DONT come in your room rent. They don't have iron or any pressing facilities, like you can't even rent it. That's the number 1 reason why my vacation got ruined I had to purchase cheap shirts to wear. Secondly, if you're having a medical crisis there's ABSOLUTELY no first aid kits NO painkillers even if you're dying they'll just say we don't have it. I was suffering from a severe migraine which lead to vomiting and I had to call medical services who came and gave me 3 injections for pain, rest and vomits and they charged me €125 cash. Third, if you're having a beer or a smoke or just sitting in their back area you'll find mice and mosquitoes there. I would highly recommend people to avoid this place as it is unhygenic, rude, unreasonable and dangerous (if you develop a medical problem).
Cheap and clean
Arrived late, some strange faces outside. Booked in advance a family room. Room was very clean and spacious. Train station close, but did not hear anything with window closed. Saw the trains only in the morning. Breakfast was good and cheap. Parking not quite easy at daytime. Overall good value for money. Yes, I would stay again
Be secure.
They don't check ID physically. And accommodation itself is quite big. So I have big concern about security. Some friendly and professional staff but they are not at front desk all the time despite of a lof of staff working.
Convenient but not exciting.
A few nights in a mixed dorm was perfectly adequate - and very reasonably priced - for what I needed. The room was full 2 of the 3 nights I was there, but pretty quiet for that (allowing for usual sort of noise to be expected from the school groups that were there). Free wifi was GREAT, breakfast was extra, but a good investment. There isn't much else in the area - the hostel overlooks the construction site of Stuttgart 21 right now, but there is a tram stop a stone's throw from the building and trams come every 10 mins or so, with just a couple of stops to the central station (handy if you've got lots of luggage). Otherwise you could probably walk into the city centre from there, if you're so inclined (20 mins max). Also a big cinema next door if you want to see a movie while you're there.
A and O hotel/hostel
It is a nice hotel and the staff are also competent and committed to helping tourist find their ways. it was not an easy experience but it was fun for me especially on communication, buying of train tickets and other interaction with the good people of Germany. they are generally nice and welcoming even as language formed a barrier between me and them. it was fun for and I enjoyed every bit of my stay in Germany. the temperature could be very low outside but inside was usually warm even in the hotel.
Will Stay Again
Stayed here and found it very suitable for a solo getaway. Its clean and friendly. My only disappointment was the length of the queues in the foyer for check-in which seemed to be very long at times.
Good Find
Stayed here a couple of times now. Good hotel in a convenient location. Just next to Milchhof station. The queues at the reception can be long but the staff are friendly and the facilities in the room were more than adequate for my stay. I will stay here again.
4-night, stay, Dec 2015
Booked for 4-night stay over new year period. Location wise, Hostel is about 15-min walk from Stuttgart main railway station/city centre. Not the nicest of walks, especially at night. Area near station is a building site, as they are upgrading the S-bann system! Hostel reception was always busy, staff seemed stress, not the friendliest welcome, no mention of services available! Room clean with own bathroom, Lockers and t.v. but had weird noise coming from behind one replastered wall! Never tryed bar, but €7.00 all you can eat breakfast was very good, but they don't provide trays, so you have to make several trips back and fourth. Overall decent choice for a short stay!
good value
Overpriced basic hotel with some grumpy staff
Guy on reception seemed like he hated working there. Initially given the room right by the reception which was incredibly noisy (we were in a double room, not a dorm), we asked to be moved only to be told there was nothing they could do. After insisting, we spoke to a very helpful girl who could move is to another room. Over priced for the basics but it was a place to stay. Other staff seemed ok, maybe the guy was just having a bad day!
A wise choice
It is a very economic offer with good condition. It shows the new normality-less privacy but more frugality. The staff are very helpful and kind. The Wifi speed is fast-even many people surfing at the lobby in the same time. Breakfast-buffee is very good, with a lot of veriaties costs only €7,- per person. The neighbourhood is safe. Location is good, one can go the central train station(Hauptbahnhof)and the Schlosspark (Park of Cassle)by 10-15 Minutes walk, then you get into down-town Stuttgart. If you want to use the public transportation, please take the U 12 (for the direction of Hallschlag)for three stops to the stop: Milchhof from the central station.Remember: buy the ticket for the short ride(Kurz Strecken). It kosts only €1,20 or 1,30.
Very good hotel. Slightly basic, but good beds, large pleasant room, and good bathroom. Everything I could have wanted.
Basic, clean and functional
Room was basic, but clean and relatively comfortable. Plus points - power sockets near the bed, minus points - no drinks facilities in the rooms. There was very little luxury, but at this end of the market that's to be expected. The hotel is located a very short walk (about 100m) from the nearest s-bahn tram stop, with frequent connections to Stuttgart station and beyond. Bathroom was in good condition, and again, clean and functional - it's not a 4* luxury hotel, but it's a clean, tidy and comfortable hotel at the budget end of the market
Very nice but far away from everything
I stayed in a 6 person dorm room and it was very spacious and had it's own shower and toilet. The room, bathroom and toilet were spotless. The Wifi was free and very good quality. The staff were really friendly at the counter, and they were open 24 hours (including the bar!). A cheeky charge for sheets at the counter (only about €3.50), but I suppose that's standard with hostels. The location is ages away from everything though is the only down-side (maybe 25 minute walk to the main train station - not too bad I suppose).
Hostel in Stuttgart
It was comfortable, bug the staff seemed disorganised.
