I was a bit nervous because it was a one star property but the place was homey and the staff was very nice and helpful. I was traveling with an elderly parent so I was looking for a location that was close to the train and bus station and a place that was affordable. I think the front desk staff went above and beyond and I'm grateful for their advice and recommendations. The building is a bit outdated and it could use some fixing up as well as some new furniture but I have no regrets staying here.
We stayed in a apartment and very ckean and very large. Staff veey polite. Would stay again.
Clean, Comfortable & very Convenient!
Perfect for my one-night stay, Marco was a Mine of Information, where to go, eat & relax! Was only expecting Continental Breakfast but the freshly cooked bacon & scrambled eggs were excellent! Recommended!
Good location and comfortable stay
Beautiful, clean little hotel. A great choice near the train station (about a 15 minute walk) in a very quiet Venetian neighborhood. Air conditioning was very cold, room and beds were small (as many are in Venice), and the place was very clean.
We really enjoyed our stay here! We were only staying for one night and the host was very helpful and even gave us a map and circled things we could do in our short time. I will recommend here to anyone! Just beware, there was no a/c and the humidity in Italy feels like it adds an extra 10-15 degrees, so sleeping was rough.
Excellent breakfast. Great staff. Close to train and bus stations. Recommended.
Fantastico! What a gem of a hotel, and hotel team. If we come back to Venice, and I do hope we do, I would absolutely stay here again.
This is a good one-star. Reasonable place to sleep if you want to be in Venice proper. Not fancy, but breakfast was exceptional.
The hotel was very nice and conveniently located. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great hotel in a great location with lovely staff who were super eager to help!
Their 2 bedroom apartment was in an excellent area for access to trains, boats, public transportation. Quiet neighborhood. Hotel staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating.
Absolutely wonderful! Clean, great A/C. Michaela was so kind and helpful. Breakfast was great too! And so close to the train station but down a small street so away from all the noise. Would stay here again!!
Very handy to train station but away from the hustle and bustle. Lovely staff. Room we had was very clean. A bit on the small side, but perfect for a night. Easy to get places by vaperetto or on foot.
Great location to major transportation. Seems dated. No elevator. Small shower with plumbing issue. Couldn’t close the bathroom door. AC unit was too loud and would wake up my wife.
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff!
Loved everything about our stay here, close to train station just watch walking over bridge carrying your luggage a bit painful but all good. We had a newly renovated apartment and staff were so helpful, our bed was very hard but they provided us with a mattress topper upon request. Everything was clean and we walked absolutely everywhere no need for anything else but in Venice, close to the most amazing cafe that had people queuing up every morning with the best coffee and baked goods. Our room safe disintegrated work as previous guests had taken the key with them but there were 3 doors between us and the lane way so felt very safe to leave valuables in the room. We don’t eat breakfast here but I have no doubt it would have been lovely. Thanks guys we would absolutely stay here again.
I had originally booked a room with a shared bathroom, but upon recommendation from the hotel clerk, upgraded to a room that had the bathroom inside. That was the best choice I could have made. The room was in an area that had been recently renovated. The room was very spacious with a separate living room, and a very modern and functional bathroom. I didn’t get the breakfast option, but would recommend others to get it as the cost of a simple continental type breakfast in the restaurants nearby is about the same cost of the breakfast in the hotel where you would be better served.
excellent facilities and location
The property is close to the bus and train station. Dont have to worry about hauling your luggage very far. Room is a decent size, excellent brekky options and quality. Theres plenty of food options nearby. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay here again
Perfect location. Clean and quiet . Location was everything!! I’m trying to understand why we paid more than was advertised.
Great hotel. Easy to get to and from train station and an easy walk to main tourist attractions. Safe environment. Great room and staff friendly and helpful.
Hotel con buon comfort, comodo e gentile, personale cordiale e molto attento.
Bien ubicado, excelente relación calidad-precio.
This was the perfect spot to stay with my family specially with my dad that can’t walk long distance. This was just the perfect located in the middle of all the attractions and food and shopping.
Excellent location and very quiet.
Overall a pretty good stay considering it's a 1 star hotel. Things I liked: Great location, walkable to the train, bus station, and the water bus. The room we stayed in was clean. Staff was friendly. Room was quiet over night. Things I didn't like: The shower drained very slowly so by the time I finished showering I was standing in 3/4ths of an inch of water. The double bed was actually two singles pushed together. We were not given any shampoo and instead we got 1 and a half bottle of body wash. The Towles were not changed during our three night stay.
What a lovely little hotel! The room was small though very well appointed. The staff was wonderful and accommodating, and the breakfast was simply amazing! The hotel is situated on a quiet street- about a block or two from the hustle and bustle of the Grand Canal. We will be back!
Great central location to the bus and train stations. Was nice to be in a quiet nook of the city- nice cafes in the area.
Lovely short stay in Venice
Hotel is in a great location which is surprisingly quiet. Room was comfortable, however there was a odd smell in the bathroom which wouldn't go away. We just kept the door closed. There is a fridge at the entrance which conveniently stocks cold water and beer to buy. Really nice to have when going to relax in the room before going back out. Staff were kind and helpful. We did not opt for breakfast but they managed to get us coffee and pastries when we were short for time one morning. Did not charge a lot which was appreciated. They also allow for luggage to be stored once we needed to check out which was again very helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.
Really enjoyed the hotel
Stayed there with family on Aug 20, 2023 Its a decent hotel for a price Staff is very helpful
Great stay
Perfect
Staff extremely friendly, recommended some amazing places, took our bags on the last day and room was perfect
Great place to stay and just opposite the train station. Downside is no lifts. Room had what we needed and the shower room was superb. Breakfast was amazing. Crispy croissant!!
Friendly and helpful staff. Close to train station which makes it easier to get to when you first get to Venice.
We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly, our room was clean and practical. With good bedding and a very comfortable bed. Pleasant surprise to find a kettle with tea and coffee in our room. We had breakfast one day of our stay and there was plenty of choice and freshly made eggs and bacon. I have been having problems with updating payment details on Expedia which could have proved an issue but Giacomo was extremely kind and helpful about it. Having stayed in Venice before at a much more expensive hotel I was really impressed with the standards at this lovely place and will definitely book if we return to Venice. We arrived by train and this hotel was perfectly situated for us, whilst being in a quiet area.
Giacomo and the staff were really pleasant and helpful, booking us restaurants. Our room was quite small and needed a bit of TLC but the hotel is in a great location , close to the railway and bus stations (5mins ) and all the sights were within walking distance . We stayed two nights and it was a great base .
They did not tell us from beginning the apartment is separated from the hotel..so we need to walk across the bridge (with our luggages). Very disappointed
I stayed here in January (great time to go to Venice as there are less tourists). My main concern in Venice was security, but there was always someone on the reception. Room was very clean. Double bed two soft singles, but fine. Basic but absolutely perfect for the money (I paid £77 a night which was the cheapest I found in town). Also, and importantly, it was very close to where the bus drops you off from the airport (No.35 to Pizzale Roma). Makes life so much easier. And on the way back (for me, by train) it was 10 minute walk to the central station. Since Venice is very easy to walk around and not too big (if you're fit to walk all day, that is), I didn't feel the need to stay close to St Mark's square or anywhere like that -- everything was a simple and interesting walk away.
Small rooms in a building that could use some renovation. Staff and location a great!
good choice
It was a very pretty property...older and quaint.
Close to the train station and accessible to the bus you need to take to the airport.
Conveniently located, tidy hotel. Could do with more thorough cleaning, otherwise great. Would recommend.
A very comfortable and cozy hotel that is located close to the train station making it easy to get in and out. In a quiet area at night so sleep is not disturbed. Highly recommend.
Not sure
Great, reasonably-priced option in the center of Venice right near the Ferrovia (train station) ferry stop with access to everything you want to see. While it is a no-frills type place, the friendly staff, super breakfast, fast/free wifi, and great location (only 5 mins to the bus stop or train station) make it an unbeatable place when visiting the very expensive city of Venice. Recommend with confidence to those who are looking for a clean room with a nice breakfast without fancy amenities.
Clean, close to bus station,
My room was basic and not very big, but the stay was comfortable. The hotel staff were friendly, especially Giacomo and the lady (sorry I forgot her name) were very helpful and kind, and showed they really cared about their guests. It made me sad to leave the place! The breakfast is quite nice and offers plenty of food.
Charming Albergó Marín
Clean, cozy, excellent location close to train station if walking with luggage. Beds were just ok for comfort and air conditioner in room was not very cold. Staff was excellent and helpful. Breakfast options and small bar downstairs. Overall good stay and reasonable price.
Great staff. You have to make a reservation for breakfast but there is also a cafe close by if you miss doing so. Very easy to get to the train station.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location!
Fine place and people
Great breakfast, very clean rooms and friendly hosts!
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Plenty of goodies for breakfast. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Location was easy to find and quiet. Would definitely return
The staff are amaizing. Very very nice people. the communication was so easy. the showers and beds are so comfortable and they have a cooling system. Strongly recommend

Would recommend and choose again next time.
We stayed in the Apartment Grifondoro which was perfect. It was clean and modern and had everything you needed. We were a couple, a 17 yr old and my brother. There was plenty of room. First floor had two double bedrooms and a bathroom. Top floor had another double bedroom and bathroom. As well as the kitchen and a great little balcony. Perfect location. Lots of little bars and restaurants very close by.
Great deal!
Very nice. Host was more than accommodating. Breakfast was fresh and hot.
It’s was great and perfect as I planned in terms of location. Beyond my expectations in term of the service, comfort of the bed, excellent services and the breakfast was so yummy especially the croissant ❤️. It’s a yes for the price.
Great location near the train station. Friendly and helpful staff.
This property was perfectly situated close to the train line. Staff were mostly superb, particularly Lalit who was the most kind and knowledgeable man we met whilst in Venice. The property was very clean and the breakfast option that we elected to take was superb with good coffee. On our day of departure we were leaving well after check out and we were permitted to leave our bags whilst we grabbed a meal and did some last minute shopping. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to couples or families alike.
wonderful location, very nice breakfast, helpful staff
Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. All was good. Staff pleasant and helpful. Welcome drink and nibbles was a bonus on a hot day when we arrived. Lovely sitting outside with a drink.
Very friendly and informative staff . Convenient to the train station. Breakfast was great.
Very good!clean, safe, near of everything, foods, good breakfast
Great location with access to the train, bus, car rental. Staff was not the most personable but they were helpful.
The apartment was horrible
I first want to say that this was the apartment located Cannaregio #1637 not the hotel itself. First, the front desk was very rude when I finally found the location to pick up the keys and told me that I need to learn how to use google maps. After getting to the room it was in a great location but the room was beyond unacceptable. The room has cobwebs everywhere, it smelled very musty and the blankets were smelly as well. There is no safe, the floors were filthy, mosquitos swarmed the place and ate us up at night. The room is very out dated and the mattress was horrible. we spent as little time there as possible even taking the a trip to Malino to not spend time there. Giving it a 1 star is being generous.
Charm and convenience
The hotel’s location is a short walk from the train station meaning it’s also close to a vaporetto stop so getting around Venice from here is very easy. Everyone working there is helpful, professional and accessible. My only advice would be to pay close attention to your room selection; there’s one room that’s very small and has a bath and shower down the hall. It was entirely my mistake that I chose this room (it clearly stated this on the reservation-I didn’t pay attention to it) and I made do for three nights (who stays in their hotel room when they’re in Venice?) but I think it would be too small for two people (or ideal for a single traveler on a budget). That said, I’d happily stay here again, just in a different room.
Terrible
We stayed in the apartment. We have never stayed in a one star hotel and now we know why. The shower was tiny and didn’t work. The internet didn’t work. The rooms were musty and stank. The house next door was being demolished and there was loud hammering from 8.00 am onwards. When we complained, we simply were told that it was not their problem. We would not recommend staying at the apartments.
The rooms are smaller then my bathroom.
The room was a old bathroom and we couldn’t even walk around the bed. The bed was by far the hardest think I have slept on. The bathroom and shower were down the hall in side of little cleaning closets were there essentially sniff room to stand up and or turnaround. After being there for 15 min we walked out and asked for a refund. The pic of these place are very diseaving and stay away from this place.
Great location near to the Grand Canal, train station, vaporetta, and airport transportation. We would definitely stay again. In a quiet area just off the canal & near public transportation. Staff very cordial and helpful.
Hotel is located close to everything but quite. Has a laundromat and restaurant next door. Again good location, close to train terminal and the ports.
Quaint and Out of the Way
Not anything to write home about. We got a triple room just to make sure it was large enough. European rooms can be very tiny. 3 single tiny beds. Private Shower made it nice. No elevator. Had to haul heavy suitcases upstairs. No bellman. Breakfast was okay and cappuccino was nice. I wouldn't stay again however. Outdated and out of the way. Would prefer somewhere on the water.
The property was close to the main walking path and other forms of transportation but not right on Main Street. It was in a nice quiet part of the city. The hard part was finding the hotel. The address was not clearly marked on the property.
All about Albergo Marin
The hotel is in a very good location and the staff are friendly and accomodating.😍😍😍
I decided to leave and find another hotel and they would not give me my money back This place is vin terrible shape
First of all, The apartment IS NOT in a Annex Building to the hotel, it is way to far front it is in the Jewish Getto, I reserve this apartment because I though it was next to the hotel, but it was not, I got disappointed for that, But the apartment is really clean, with lots of amenities, close to grocieries store, about 5 minutes walking, I arrive to Venice around 7 pm, The people from the hotel was in touch with me all the time since I arrive to the airport, I took the Water Taxi from Airport to the closest docking to the apartment and a person from the hotel was already there waiting for us to take us to the apartment. Thats a BIG PLUS for me because I was traveling with my daughters and lots of luggage. The area is really quiet and full of history, I really recommend this place if you don´t mind walking a little bit more.
Unhealthy and shameful!
This hotel is in unhealthy conditions I am very surprised they are running they have one carpet stapled into the old one, paint chips coming on the floor that is buckled and the attitude of the man at the front desk is challenging. I would not recommend it not advertised . Despite the value of been closed to the St. Lucia train station, just go anywhere else.
comfortable bed, location is the best-just across the bridge from train station and boat station which makes it very convenient when you roam around the city since everything is done by boat if not on foot....breakfast is good...overall, it was a great stay
Charming place to stay while in Venice, Italy
What a great find! A quaint little hotel near the train station in Venice. We were welcomed with a cold fruit drink and a small bite to eat. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good. Don't forget to ask for a café au lait or other coffee you'd like. It's also near one of the larger canals and you can get water taxi's to where you need to go. Or, you can also walk like my wife and I did many times. Google maps helped navigate the great winding streets. It's also about 40 steps from a self-laundry! When we visit Venice again, we'll definitely be staying there again.
Close to Grand Canal
You are very close to the Grand Canal and the train station. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The property does not have an elevator, so it may be challenging getting your luggage up and down the stairs. The hotel is clean but dated.
Small room, very little space for personal items, poor lighting. Small bathroom, but big enough shower with an array of water options. No lift/elevator, narrow staircase.
Close to the train and bus station. 25 minute walk to San Marco. Breakfast started at 8 and was adequate. Pastries, cereal, cold cuts, cheese and beverages. Had an early train departure before breakfast but did provide a few options before we left. Very grateful for the accommodation.
On arrival made very welcome and given really helpful advice of extra places to see and map pointing out places of interest. Marked the hotel , bus and train stations in case we wished to travel out of city. All staff very friendly and helpful and made all guests feel relaxed and that they mattered.
Pleasant stay at Albergo Marin.
Albergo Marin is a hotel I would recommend. The people at the front desk were prompt and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. There was a friendly, charming lady at breakfast the first day who offered different kinds of coffee and the cappuccino she prepared was outstanding. The second morning at breakfast a man was present but was not anything like the nice lady and didn’t offer any special coffees.
Comfortable and accommodating
Pleasantly aware from the crowds and in easy walking distance to train and bus terminals, Albergo Marin is an ideal base for a short visit to Venice island. Rooms are not big but are comfortable, service is excellent and the included buffet breakfast in the morning is a great way to kick off the day. Bar prices for an evening drink are very reasonable and staff are accommodating with requests for restaurant bookings. For a few nights stay, this place is good, however the smallish rooms would prove challenging for longer stays in Venice.
A heartwarming welcome breakfast
Staff are friendly. When we arrived in the morning, even though it was still not check-in time, the front desk staff offered a welcome breakfast to us. Hotel location is well located. It’s nearby train and bus station.
good
was good only to far from check in the apt.
We had a great comfortable stay. The room was small but that was to be expected in Venice. The staff was great and very helpful and breakfast was good. Location was very close to train station.
Our stay here was brilliant. The staff were friendly, helpful and were happy to go the extra mile. Excellent location as well as easy to get to everything. Would highly recommend!
Great Choice
Located not far from the train station is a plus and service was good with gluten free option. Luggage storage after checked out is a plus.
Adequate room, professional staff
Very friendly and professional staff, great location. Family room (quadruple) was tiny for 4 people and decor very tired - not as per pictures. Walls are very thin so noise from neighbouring rooms was very intrusive.
Excellant location, very friendly helpful staff, good breakfast, freshly cooked and excellant coffee.
Venice New Year Break
Room was exactly as the photograph but a VERY old wardrobe was all we had to hang or store our clothes - no drawers. Cold snap in Venice so the very good heating in the room was welcome. New plastic (glass style table ans bedside tables would have been better if they contained storage of some kind. We just left all our smaller items in our suitcases. Breakfast good but could do to be kept hotter, I can't eat luke-warm scrambled eggs and bacon. Plenty of other choices though and good service
Great location!
Great location and great breakfast. Friendly staff. We had a good time.
The location of this hotel is excellent. Within walking distance of the railway station, bus station and vaparetto stations on the Grand Canal, so very easy to get around. The hotel reception is staffed 24/7 which was good when we wanted a drink at the bar before bedtime! The room was spotless and quite comfortable. We had enough hanging space and there was a free safe in the wardrobe for our use. The shower was powerful and hot water plentiful. Breakfast was the same every day. Hot scrambled eggs and bacon, cold meats and cheese, pastries and bread and lovely coffee so a good choice to start the day. Staff were very friendly and approachable for Venice information . We would definitely stay here again
Good location with large rooms considering it is in Venice. The staff was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Good restaurants were not very near, but we were all over town anyway so food was never a problem.

Great staff.. big help in navigating Venice that doesn't have taxis other than the water buses.. comfortable room
