Unsuitable for disabled

They changed our room due to disability, from a deluxe sea veiw to a family room and charged us an extra £30 !!! Also room was freezing when we came in in afternoon and when we got up in morning only way to get warm was to get in bed , the window and balcony door was opened upwhile we were out and left open despite being the middle of winter the radiators came on at 5pm ,the good point was the breakfasts and service were excellent ,Not suitable for disabled

Yes Weymouth and another good B & B

we enjoyed our stay the room we had was nice the breakfast was cooked fresh and the staff were friendly. We were informed that our room was ready if we arrived early.The room we had was inviting with a good view of the beach from the window and plenty of storage for cloths so you did not live out of a suitcase . and only a short walk from the trajn station.

Room 11 was small, but very pleasant. Problem with Weymouth is parking. We parked overnight for free in the car park, but had to move the car by 8am. so missed breakfast as we could not be bothered to feed the meter and walk back to the hotel.

Room was clean, breakfast lovely and staff helpful, stayed in Room 1 , definitely need a grab rail in the shower as step down is about 10 inches which isn't good for elderly or people with mobility issues and needs towel rails in bathroom, Dean was really helpful finding us a table for our room which we could play dominoes on, Expedia need to remove from their website that the property has a mini golf and tennis, they don't!! This annoyed us as we chose this place for the mini golf but would stay again.

I booked this last minute on the evening that I stayed. Was welcomed and felt comfortable. Room was lovely and big with comfortable bed. Breakfast was nice, full English, fruit and cereals all available. Lovely view of the beach from dining area. Well located, short walk to shops, pubs and restaurants.

The breakfast was superb, the shower was really good. The door closers slam them with load bangs, needed softer closings. Parking was a bit of a nightmare, but we were able to park 10 minutes away. Very close to beach and town. Plenty to do nearby.

Lovely last minute choice for me

Last minute need for a place to stay and i was really happy I chose A Maiden Rest. Dean was really great at communication in terms of ensuring I would be able to access the place properly and have a good place to park my car. Free wifi but I didnt need it. The room was great, clean and smart, everything worked and had been well looked after. The bed was comfy and I slept well. The road is a little noise at the front but youre right on the esplanade so no way around that. Sea view! Right there - lovely to wake for on the balcony and watch the first beach-goers. Breakfast was lovely and served with a smile 😃

B&b was nice,great fried breakfast,staff were friendly room was great only one thing let it down,that was constant music going on all night from the host in te dinning room,so we had a room above it and it disturb our sleep for 2 nights..

Sensible priced hotel in good seafront location.

We’ve stayed in many hotels/ b&b’s in Weymouth but this is definitely one of our favourites, our room was massive with a small indoor balcony and private bathroom. It’s on the beach front and a short walk from everything. We will be staying again in the future 😊

We wanted a place to stay close to the station. This place was lovely a great old building full of character. Just what we expected a sea view and a clean room. Good value for money.. breakfast was amazing and owner was friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

Welcoming ,friendly, BB , weymouth

Arrived and wRm welcome from, dean, w fi code sent to my phone, , room was very clean, and i had a most awesome view from balcony, breakfast, was cook fresh and serve promptly, by oli, i think that was his, name i will have no hesitation in reconmending , this / B B, ALSO VERY EASY WALK FROM TRAIN STATION, AND TOWN, THANKS TO ALL THERE FOR MAKING MY VISIT, SO GREAT LOOKING FORWARD TO SEE IN YOU IN NEAR FUTURE G AMEY

It was not up to scratch, I won't be going back

Basic room, which was ok, but the shower burnt you if you moved, the tv had pink static going across the screen. The room was most decorated coastal but the sink was in the bedroom and had black and pink fleur-de-lis wallpaper it was very strange. The electrics are worrying as they literally are running off a few plug sockets. 1 didn't work at all, the chap that ran it was nice enough but he needs to hire cleaners that get everything done. The door to the toilet was a slatted door that you can see through like a cupboard door so no privacy

Weymouth away treat

Dean was very helpful and provided good service. My only negative issue was the parking as it was in a main pay and display. However the parking was free between 6pm and 8am. Would definitely come back. Keep up the good work dean.

Amazing stay, beautiful views, lovely food. Perfect for us. The room was clean and airy. We had a lovely breakfast with a sea view in the morning. Thank you for having us, we will definitely be back.

Room 19 Twin room x 2 nights Liked : Sea front location .Balcony .Sea View . Breakfast . Not liked : Single glazed windows because allows constant street and traffic noise , even with large curtains! We wanted sea view so stayed in the room.

Typical seafront small English hotel. Nicely decorated comfortable room if a little small - but thats to be expected for the location. Good breakfast and welcoming and friendly host. Great view from room 19 and a small balcony overlooking the beach Paid parking 2 minutes walk from the hotel, small side street next door to unload bags.

Great stay at A maidens rest

Our stay here was great. Booked through hotels.com and booking went smoothly. Accommodation right on the esplanade, although we didn't have a Seaview room, we were happy with the one we got. We were greeted when we got there and room was all ready. Clean and comfortable room with heating. Breakfast was lovely! Great stay overall and would definitely stay again.

We stayed for 2 nights lovely little room with a sea view,breakfast was great,loved the fried bread,you dont get that at many b and bs,my only criticism would be the room could have been warmer

Nice overnight at A Maiden Rest

What a lovely place, dean was on hand whenever you needed (not that we did). Our only issue was pillows a bit hard for us. Breakfast amazing, location amazing, room was clean and had everything we needed. Shower hot. Will def be back 👍

Had a lovely time away,b&b was clean and tidy,breakfast was amazing!. Our room was perfect,kids loved the place.The owner Dean and staff were welcoming.we will be booking next year.

Pros: Beautiful sea view, excellent position, comfortable beds Cons: Arrogant owner, unhelpful waitress at breakfast, tiny shower room with slatted door which offered no privacy when using the toilet, bedroom old and tired looking in need of updating due to stains on walls, leaking shower as door didn’t close properly, broken handle on wardrobe door. People smoking on steps outside hotel and caught a couple of them spitting. This place could be a real gem but sadly the cons outweigh the pros and for this reason I therefore wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The maidens rest is perfect for us right next to everything you could need staff we're excellent very helpful we would recommend this place to everyone also very quiet at night and exceptionally clean lovely place

Staff and owner very friendly and everything was nice and clean. Breakfast was ample with choice of cereals, fruit and large cooked breakfast. Room was quite dated and toilet and shower where in a separate room to the hand basin which was in the bedroom which seemed a little unhygienic. Fine for a night or two but I have paid the same money for a modem hotel, although not in Weymouth.

SUPERB SERVICE.

DEAN & MAYA were superb hosts for our stay. Breakfast was lovely, served on warm plates everyday. If had a problem Dean was there to sort it out. Our stay was absolutely lovely. Rooms extremely clean. Will book again.

The property is very well situated for Weymouth seafront. We had to park in a public car park which was very inconvenient as not near the property.

Lovely little B&B. The manager was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. Shower was fantastic with great water pressure and temperature. I had a room with a sea view which was lovely. Breakfast was included in the price and had everything you could need, from yogurt to cereal to eggs. I stayed in a single room, which was small, but more than suited my needs. Would happily stay there again.

The property is in a great location, just a cross the road from the beach and all the attractions. The rooms are to the rear so there is low levels of noise and the owner is helpful and allowed my partner to store his bike. The breakfast is excellent and the property is clean however there are safety elements that are lacking. the fire escape appears not fit for use and the fire doors are not fit for purpose. my mother had a fall while at the hotel as the light in the hall wouldn't turn on and it was dark which require a a and e visit and 10 stitches. when we called the owner at 10.00 on the night there was no one on the premises there was no first aid kit. The owner arrive about 2 hours later with a kit but we had already had to drive out to get one.

Worth the money

Nice place

Arrived around 4pm, no one there...ended up having to wait over an hour for the owner to arrive which I didn't appreciate as I was paying for the room during the time I couldn't access it. Got to the room, look basic and old fashioned and the sink is in the room as the bathroom is too small. Pillows were flat and no spares and couldn't ask for any at reception as there was no one there...bed was way too hard for me personally and squeaky. Toliteries were good, tea+coffee area was good. Breakfast was good, quite enjoyed sitting by the window and had a wide variety of options. No hash browns though :-( overall, it was decent enough for us for one night.

A Maiden Rest is a nice, affordable place where you have caring hosts, and a view of the seaside!

Overall my experience was great. I went on a weekend getaway with two of my friends. We met Dean and he was a great host. We were worried that we would not be allowed to check in 2 hours early, but Dean said our room was ready to go. He showed us around and gave us good recommendations around Weymouth to try out since none of us have ever been to the town. Breakfast was included and it was great. I had my first full English breakfast. The food came out fast and it was delicious. Our room was wonderful. We had a seaside view which I did not realize we had until we arrived. The walls were thin to the outside and we got a little worried that we would not be able to sleep because of the traffic outside, but we did not have a problem at all. The town seems to get quiet pretty early at night around 8 or 9 pm. So we did not hear any car noise, instead, we actually heard the waves crashing against the shore which was a nice touch when you are trying to go to bed! Check out is at 10 am, however, our train did not depart until 2 pm that same day so we asked Dean if we could possibly leave our bags somewhere in the Bed and Breakfast while we go explore the town next door. He allowed us to do that, we told him what time we would be back and he was waiting for us outside exactly at the time we told him we would be back. I highly recommend this place. It's affordable, nice, and you have the beach not even 5 minutes away from where you are. Dean was amazing and did a wonderful job in keeping things in order. If you have the opportunity to go to Weymouth, I would suggest staying at A Maiden Rest.

Wonderful stay

The welcome that you get from Dean makes you feel welcome and will do anything for you and the the breakfast cooked by Maya was wonderful and fills you up for the rest of the day, will be booking to stay again when next in Weymouth.

Very Good B&B

A short walk from the train station and into town. Single room with great view of sea front and beach. Everything functional and adequate despite small size of room although spring mattress a bit noisy. Excellent breakfast and friendly host Dean. Would stay there again. Recommended.

It was okay.nothing special.although the rooms were clean.the bedding was okay Breakfast was fair.

Friday night stay

Stayed in a twin room for a work do. Simple small room, no view outside the window, only the wall of another building. Room had an ensuite built into the closet, although limited privacy through holes in door. Fairly comfortable albeit somewhat short of space. Stayed here before so knew what to expect. No Wi-Fi in the bedrooms, only in the dining area. Great cooked breakfast. Overall good value for money.

Amazing hotel

Overall my experience at 'A Maidens Rest' was very comfortable and an enjoyable visit. The team are all friendly, welcoming and helpful in every way they can be. My room and the public areas are well maintained, clean and airy, not to forget secure. The breakfast has a wide variety of hot and cold food on offer, all hot food was cooked fresh. The hotels location is a five/ten minute walk from the local bars, shops and station and all I could hear was the waves. Thank you again for your hospitality, will certainly be recommending to friends and visiting again myself!

We only stayed one night and for the price it was adequate. The staff were helpful and the place was clean. We did not have time to stay for breakfast

Elvis night.

My mother and I had a wonderful stay at a maiden rest, the room was very clean and comfortable, it had everything you needed, the breakfast was fab, lots of choices, very friendly atmosphere, we were in Weymouth for an Elvis night.

Excellent place to stay right opposite the sea, dean the owner was very welcoming and friendly, we stayed in the family room which was just perfect for us. full English breakfast every morning or continental breakfast, tea and coffee in your room, would definitely stay again with my children

Close to beach

Initial appearance of this B&B was ok, but once in the room, of good size, it was none co-ordinated, basic & dated. The twin bed was extremely hard & uncomfortable. I did not want to stay further. There was a good assortment of breakfasts, with fresh fruit, cereal & pre-packed continental pastries. Full English or stipulated alternatives, deviation from the full English didn't go down well. Scrambled egg or beans on toast, were served on the plate, with the toast coming separately. The bacon was lovely.

Alright for a quick break

Booked up for two nights spur of the moment, nice hotel clean and a lovely breakfast,only used the room for sleeping as out all the time,downside was we are both not slim people so our ensuite wasn't,t big enough ,couldn't get in the shower and a squeeze to get past the shower to the toilet ,plus heavily damp wall wish the owner knows about but still charged full price .would have been nice if there was a small lounge , but we still had a good time and Breakfast is very good

Rather worn & tired hotel opposite the sea

The hotel is cramped, with narrow corridors. Our room had three beds. Although the room was spacious the bathroom was very small, and separated from the main room by a slatted cupboard door, rather than a normal door, affording no privacy. The lock was broken. The flush often failed to refill the toilet. The carpet was threadbare. The room was dimly lit. The full english breakfast was a little sad. When we asked for an extra egg, as we didn't want to eat the bacon or sausage, it was promised, but subsequently not provided.

Anniversary break

Our room had a sea view and balcony which was lovely as the weather was very warm, it was great hearing the sea during the night. The choice for breakfast was good, full English, fruit, cereal and toast with tea, coffee and juice. The building is quite old and musty but the price and location made up for that. I would go back to Maidens Rest.

Fantastic breakfast.

Excellent breakfast . Good value for money. Would definitely stay again. Could do with fans in rooms and maybe access to a microwave ,( even tho the hotelier was kind and just said ask ) but thats because we had a toddler who needed her bottle warm. Overall a pleasant stay.

Stayed for 2 weeks at A Maiden Rest B and B. located on the Esplanade Lovely view as we had a balcony room. Breakfast freshly cooked every morning. Proprietor Dean was very friendly and helpful and seemed to make every guest feel valued.Would stay here again
