Great place to stay, small but clean rooms, bathrooms could be upgraded but all in all a gem of a spot.
Top-notch clealiness. An older property, well maintained. Prime rib dinner was excellent.
We booked through Expedia. Nowhere in the description did it say that this was a camp ground and not a regular hotel. We arrived a few minutes before 10pm.When we arrived everything was dark, and we had to call a number for someone to help us. I called the number and a lady answered. When I told her that we had made a reservation through Expedia, she was rude and told me that she didn't check Expedia and acted very confused and annoyed that we were there. This lady ended up calling a different lady who was the one to check us in. This lady also looked very annoyed that we were there. Somehow she couldn't tell that I had paid already through Expedia. The rate she quoted me was less than what we had paid to Expedia. The room was very clean, but the lock on the door felt flimsy and didn't have a deadbolt or latch to prevent people from coming in. We put a chair in front of the door to try to stay safe, but it was rather uncomfortable given that we have 2 small children. We were also in the middle of nowhere, so we didn't know where to go if we left. We felt very unwelcomed! Why would someone post their hotel on Expedia and be surprised when someone actually books a room through it???! The grounds were very nice, but we were glad to leave the next morning.
Diamond in the rough - worth the effort !
I don't understand why this place does not have a higher rating. I would think most if not all are coming to go fishing as was I. I found it all that I needed and then some. I didn't know about the restaurant ahead of time, not sure they mention that, had I would have eaten meals there. The place was clean, comfortable and very affordable considering what the other options were there if one were to need a place to go fish the Mo. I wasn't there much so it was totally fine what I need. Clean, comfortable, had AC (didn't think it would but it did), and incredible tv channels -though I didn't watch much. All in all I'd give it a 9.5/10.
Not worth the money
Room was small; poor lighting; baseboard heater was dirty; unattractive & needs updated. On the outside there is a nice view of the creek.
I have been charged 248 dollars for a place I didn’t stay. There was no one around and closed up. After walking around for 30 minutes trying to figure things out something finally showed up. Said that they could give us a room for a price and wouldn’t honor expedia
Location was remote, hence no cell service or in room internet. Staff was friendly, but property was run down.
Nice spot
Quiet setting on river with super fruendly hostess. No internet in roms that arent near office. Outside could use sme work but rooms were clean and had coffee, small fridge.
The room smelled very badly of mildew. Very unappealing
One of the last best 'Old School Montana Vibe' places left to stay. Great atmosphere not a place where you are likely to encounter California type undesirables and highly likely to encounter great Montana people and have good conversation. The creek behind the establishment is amazing. The bar is top notch old Montana
The creek running by the rooms is beautiful and relaxing. The ranch is run by very friendly people.
Quaint place, bed needs some work, great fire pit
Place was nice, fire pit area was great, location was not super convenient, and the bed was not comfortable. Other than that, it was great, parking, cleanliness, supplies were great.
For a quick overnight stay, it served the purpose. Very dated property, could use further upkeep. Couldn’t get the shower to work, according to the instructions given.
I love this place!
Very secluded and quiet
Nobody was there for me to check in and now I can't get my refund back because they won't talk to me
Nostalgic motel, clean and quiet. Owners friendly and dinner served at restaurant at night. No frills, clean, like stepping back in time. The only idea for improvement is to install grab bars in the bathroom for us seniors and put some sticky tape on the base of the tub so no slip.
Great Stay in the Canyon
Ron and Sandy are the best! Whether you are coming for a night, a week, dinner or to listen to music and enjoy a cold one. This place is a true family business. It is a beautiful place for a hotel or RV stay very peaceful!
Great site. Facility is tired and outdated. Restaurant bar is poor . Very minimal selection. Quality below average.
Very small place. Bed and partial shower as water pressure was very weak and super short so I had to almost shower on my knees. Off the beaten path for sure but it’s whT you expect for a old set up
Great place for a rustic get away in the mountains and near a lake as well.
The property was clean outstanding food. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfy . the showers and bathtubs were beyond clean Plenty of hot water. And the scenery was heaven. The rooms were also extremely clean . I highly recommended
Not happy, but content
The place was severely dated and less clean than advertised.
Quiet an peaceful
Nice property
You’ll be glad you stayed here
Beautiful location! Porch facing grassy area with a creek flowing by. Best comfort bed ever! In-room coffee maker. Lots of hot water in the shower. Restaurant only open evenings Friday-Sunday.
property was very old, shower had very low water pressure cable tv in room had to pay for. paid for three nights only stayed for one. very disappointed.
The staff was great. The location was perfect for my trip.
Horrible stay
Pretty much a scam. Booked it for the guest ranch feel and all I got was a crummy run down very small room. The restaurant/bar is apparently only open 1 day a week, nearby town has 1 place for food otherwise. Signs plastered all over the room with rules and what not to do to the point of excess, not inviting at all. No working wifi or cell service out there as well. Guess there is a little Creek out back so that's something right? Would not recommend to anyone.
It was very secluded and peaceful. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Clean rooms and very beautiful setting.
Serine setting in a wooded area.
Great stay, hot water an issue
Hot water is an issue at motel- please ask Front desk the best way to ensure hot water shower- early morning or give a tutorial on how best to make it work. We had one day with cold shower, but next day warm shower, but we were up pretty early. However, that aside, this is a perfect place to stay when visiting the Missouri river and the area. Nice people, beautiful grounds, fun creek to play in. We will definitely book again and are a bit more prepared for the shower situation!
Nicest People Ever
We arrived later than expected, called and the people were amazing and helpful. When we arrived we were hungry and she popped in a pizza even though restaurant was closed! Amazing stay!
When we got there, they were really confused about our room and where we were staying. They fixed us up after about 1/2 hour. They gave us free drinks. They have an on-site restaurant. The food was not at all good. The overall site is in a beautiful location.
Old Hunting motel spot to sleep
By the way the property was amazing on the river. And upon arrival the management or owners seemed fine. And I am sure they are. However, The room was just like an old Hunting motel spot to sleep in when hunting the back woods. The room was not clean. The coffee post had been brewed months or weeks earlier. The coffee had green mold growing in the pot. There were stains on the counter top. I did not want to guess what they were. The ceiling has water damage uncorrected in the -corner about the bed waiting to fall. the Bathroom door was cut off at the top. Rusty sink and bathtub. My wife and I sat down and within 5 minutes trying to convince ourselves to stay any way. We pickup up our bags and headed to the car. My biggest issue is the the pictures of the room look nothing like was was furnished as a room. SHAME on VRBO for not policing what is represented on their site. I spend between 3000.00 and 5000.00 annually with VRBO. But am now rethinking this expense. I hope someone responds to me. Ben Y
My stay was wonderful. Super nice staff!!
Everything was good except for the water situation (no water pressure )
Dont judge A-book by its cover
First impression was not great however when we walked to the back the property was beautiful. The room was cute and cozy. You can tell the owners put a lot of Thought and TLC into the resort. They had a bonfire area, horseshoes, outside tables for each room and a running stream.
There was only five minutes of hot water. No shower first night. Second day was soaped up when water went cold. Lawn mower starting up at 7:30 am. Rooms exceptionally small.
The property seemed to be somewhat old which is normally not a problem for us. The problem was that our room had dog hair in the comforter and the floor. Seemed like it had not been swept or vacuumed. Out of the 12 rooms we were the only guests on the property other than the RV guests.
If you are looking for a place to stay around Wolf Creek Montana and you want nothing but wilderness and nature, this is the place for you. I only stayed one night since I was passing through Montana. The place was clean and very quiet since no one else was around. The bed was comfortable and the rest of the room was nice too! The two biggest downfalls for my experience at this place was that you have to drive down a dirt/gravel road for over a mile to get there. I know that shouldn't be a problem for a lot of people but I drive a small little car and I was driving down to California and didn't want to take a chance on getting a flat tire. The other thing that was challenging was not having Wi-Fi in my room. There is Wi-Fi in the restaurant but if you have to get onto the internet for business, it probably won't happen unless you sit in the restaurant. I would definitely stay here again now knowing what more to expect with the place. If you like nature with piece and quiet, stay here.
Musty old motel smell. NO wi fi. Small rooms. Hot water in shower non existant.
Country Gem
Extremely clean, comfortable, and could not be more peaceful. A real piece of Montana countryside! Good restaurant and bar for dinner. Very friendly proprietor. Convenient, only a couple miles off the highway and well worth it.
Worked for 1 night!
Owner was delightful and attentive! Motel was clean but definitely had not been updated much since the 1960’s or 70’s!
very good, environment, service, the price is reasonable, etc.
Beautiful grounds with a lovely creek running through it.
Quaint, privacy, creek outside was great for meditation time. Annabell was very accommodating with my needs. Gave me information/directions to Holter Lake which was spectacular and we’ll worth the drive.
Gorgeous property, perfect for a long weekend getaway or a small destination wedding. Homey and comfy, could use a bit of updating but the price is absolutely unbeatable for a quiet rest or family gathering. Dinner was great, staff was as pleasant as everyone else we encountered in "The Treasure State" which means super nice. Wine on a bench by the creek to watch the late Montana evening finally fall was perfection! If we'd had wi-fi access to update our husbands of our whereabouts, I might've added that 5th star.

Excellent value. Needs Internet and cell Phone service throughout the ranch. Can’t do business without this amenity.
