Great Appartment/Hotel

Great hotel in an excellent location close to the town center. Appartment was clean and although the decorations were pretty basic it seemed modern and was comfortable. Appartment was spacious with all the facilities you would expect. No TV in bedroom only in sitting room area which wasn't really a problem but similar appartments often have a TV in both. Wi-Fi was not very good despite being advertised as excellent but I had a 5G signal on my phone which worked fine whilst I was working from my room. Facilities downstairs were good with decent food in the Cafe. Staff were pleasant and helpfull. Definately recommend a stay here.

Excellent place to stay & very central.

Excellent place , couldn't fault it one bit , great staff , great vibe , everything you could need & if not there's a Tesco across the street.

Really great stay, studio room was much bigger than expected. Cosy vibes, and it had everything you need. The staff were really attentive. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent stay

Hannah and Erin on reception were excellent, very welcoming and lovely. Room was superb, very comfortable stay and lovely amenities. Great location and very easy to find. My only observation is that the back bar and the fridges looked very bare when sat at the bar. Made it feel like it was an afterthought - saying that, I would definitely stay there again and can't wait to try some of their other locations.

Great property, had a duplex which was nice. I wouldn’t recommend the room for anyone who doesn’t link short steep steps. Room was great, loads of space, everything you needed to cater for yourself, and just chill out after a day or night out. Great staff in reception, and some decent cocktails behind the bar.

Really nice little apartment. Excellent facilities and great location. Just don’t expect a lie in. Walls are paper thin and all you can hear all morning from very early is doors banging every 10 minutes.

Weekend away

A great stay & good location. We normally stay at Native, so this was a good alternative. Great having a washing machine & tablets included. Staff all very friendly & helpful. Would have like to be able to check-in before 4pm. This is very late, especially for a weekend away. Also the bed was just a double (1-bed suite) & I would expect a King or Super king.

Great location, venue and facilities. Staff were superb. Felt like kitchen area was a little dark but as we only stayed for one night it wasn’t an issue so didn’t follow it up.

We really like our stay at the hotel but didn’t really like the kitchen area in the room and dining table. We didn’t really like that whilst laying in bed you could see the kitchen. Our room also overlooked a car park which isn’t the greatest view. In saying that, I would stay here again, but in a different layout room like our friend’s room, where the kitchen is in the entrance, not the main part of the room. The hotel staff were 10/10 and the hotel has a really nice, cool, stylish vibe.

Great hotel

The Whitworth Locke was in a fabulous location and looks stunning. Luckily we bumped into a helpful member of staff who directed us to the right entrance. The room was incredibly spacious and loved the kitchenette area. We will definitely be staying again but with our dog next time!!

I love renovated industrial properties, and this one was really well done. We had a small apartment that was perfect for our group of 3. The neighborhood was really fun and it was easy to walk all over downtown and even out to the concert venue. On to the not so great part. Our flight was delayed and I sent the property a message through our booking site letting them know of the long delay. I also pre-registered through the link the property sent me, so they knew we would be arriving. Still, when we arrived, the staff person blocked our entrance into the building at first and was very annoyed that we were there. For some reason, he had to check us in again even though I had already done that. Besides that, the atrium lobby is heavily scented, so I had to hold my breath through there. And our shower did not work correctly and was not fixed when we reported it.

Fabulous as always. Grace, Sunjay, Luke, Noor and the team are so welcoming everytime I come. My literal home away from home!

Nice, clean, and centrally situated.

It was perfect for my trip, hey you have 12 hangers, and most of the hotels you stay at will give you 5 or 6 and you struggle to figure out how to hang your clothes, it was a nice hotel with friendly staff, it is located close to tram and train station, very convenient, thank you!

Really interesting orginal building. Stsff were super friendly and helpful, really nice receptionists. The room had good quality furnishings, it also had a kitchenette but no table or chairs so bit pointless. But in basement no very airy

Great place

The reception team were great and the rooms are well equipped and really cool

ONLY caveat is the parking situation. What you save on the room will cost you in the parking lot you have to pay for around the corner. DO NOT park at the parking lot listed here on Expedia. It is an uphill hike for a couple blocks. There is a NCP parking lot right around the corner. It's a little pricier, but it saves you the hike to the hotel. The apartment rooms are wonderful. It was nice to be able cook in the room and to bring back leftovers from O'Sheas which has great pub food one block away.

A fantastic experience worth far more than what I paid for, the rooms were of immaculate quality, and the staff all approachable and incredibly kind. Roomy and well stocked, I didn't feel like I needed anything during my stay. 5 out of 5.

The hotel is average value for money. A cosy room in a building with classic English architecture. I should also mention that the rooms were of old construction. However, everything in the room was as it should be and worked properly. The entrance to the hotel is a bit unusual. The reception is to the right of the entrance and looks a little cramped as there were tables and chairs from the hotel cafe right in front of it. However, the reception staff were very attentive. They found my coat, which I had left outside the hotel, and when I asked if they had seen it, they immediately checked and returned it to me. I would like to thank them.

Wonderful oasis in Manchester

Clean, spacious and quiet with a full kitchen. Great staff, characterful reception cafe. Central location good for Bridgewater Hall and ten minutes from the station. Will be back!

Beautifully done. The floors do creek in the room. Our room stayed warm even though the radiators were off. We slept with the windows open and one night we had the fan on also even though it was early October.

Overall stay has been great. Unfortunately, my check in experience wasn't smooth at all. Danz was very rude and I didn't appreciate her really negative attitude and behaviour towards me especially as I am a long standing and loyal customer. She didn't bother to listen to anything I was saying and charged my card when she shouldn't have. I was very disappointed with the way I was spoken to by Danz and this has left quite a bitter taste. I hope to never experience anything like this again particularly with Danz. Having said that, when I saw Nour later in the evening, as always he was so friendly and welcoming. He is such a great team member and I'm grateful that he was there when I came back. He listened to my complaint and was so understanding. Thanks to Nour for putting a smile on my face and making my stay more enjoyable.

A very trendy, warm, cozy, comfortable aparthotel. Across from Canal Street. The staff are friendly and accommodating! There is a nice coffee shop on location, The Foundation Coffee, which has a delicious selection of breakfast/brunch food.

It was great!

Likes - the area was very walkable and close to everything. Grocery store across the street and a very pretty bar in the front of the building. Enjoyed access to a kitchen and washing machine. Dislikes - stayed on the first floor at the front of the building and found it very loud at night. I could hear the lyrics to the songs playing in cars as they drove past the hotel. I guess the beautiful old building doesn't come with modern day sound proofing. Unit could have been cleaner, especially in the washroom. The staff was either lovely or they ignored you - it was a very mixed experience. I’ve stayed at other Locke properties and this one didn’t live up to the brand.

Absolutely loved staying at this property. Theres a lot of food and bar’s nearby. It’s also walkable around the city center. Loved having everything in my room.

Interesting architecture

I stayed at broken wharf last year and was blown away by the staffs friendliness and eagerness to please .... so this time decided to try manchester and whitworth locke and once again i was blown away by the friendliness of the staff especially grace and Alana couldnt have asked for better and andre at the bar was a welcome conversation at the end of the day ....you should all be very proud...great people and great service ..

Beautiful place, amazing reception staff so friendly and happy. The 2 bedroom apartment was very well equipped and so clean! The beds were extremely comfortable and the shower was amazing. It had everything we needed. Thank you for the little gift for our birthday girl it was a fantastic gesture! Would highly recommend this place.

Friendly staff

I absolutely loved staying in this hotel. My studio was modern and brilliantly designed to fit all the necessities - even a washer/dryer! - into a small space. There was coffee, tea, and chilled milk in the fridge. My bed was comfortable and cozy, and I had a table for writing/eating. I loved the entry to the hotel with its arched glass atrium ceiling and cobblestone floor and great bar surrounded by lots of seating areas. The staff was fantastic- welcoming, helpful, warm, friendly, knowledgeable. When my credit card was canceled due to a fraudulent charge, they gave ma a breakfast voucher while I sorted things out.

Good sized room for the price. Good amenities, nice gym too. Only one washer and dryer. The basement rooms have a lot of light and tall ceilings, so not to worry about it being in a basement.

Exceptional stay

Nice vibe. Good public areas on the hotel. Great staff.

Very small living space, and while the kitchen was new and glossy it was black and very hard to see and use easily. Needed the torch to see the functions of appliances. Designer items placed in the small room which meant even less usable space. Yoga mat provided but no floor space to put it down. Lift was out of action for the duration of our stay and the restaurant was closed.

The location is great. Staff are really friendly and checking in is super fast. Would stay again happily. The facilities are good but some improvements - The sofa needs some cushions - provide more than 2 dishwasher or washing tablets a week

Lovely apartment hotel

Lovely design, central location. My dog loved it too. Room is well kitted out - especially the kitchen. Bath is a little tricky to get in and out of - a hand rail would be helpful. Parked next door at NCP

We stayed in a one bedroom studio with our 13 month old. It was wonderful to be able to put him to bed early and then have an evening to ourselves in the apart-hotel room. The location couldn’t be better. We loved waking all over Manchester and exploring different neighborhoods. The take-out options nearby are great. All in all, a great stay! And there’s a Tesco across the street for food staples!

Great decor and my bed was so comfortable. Good facilities. Easy walking distance to good selection of restaurants, cinema and retail shopping. Train station and trams also located within walking distance.

Convenient location in Manchester

Convenient location. Bed in room was comfortable although room was a little dark. Downside was check-in was slow. My room wasn't ready and I was assigned a room on a lower floor, nearer the street which had a greeting card addressed to someone else. Othereise my stay was pleasant enough. Good cafe attached to rhe hotel also.

We absolutely loved our first experience at the Locke properties. As an interior designer the aesthetics and attention to detail were top notch!!! Appreciated the affordability in Manchester location as well. We found the space very walkable throughout the city, and appreciated the bar and coffee options within the hotel.

OK but room not what I was expecting

Hotel apartment was fine & location is good. My main gripe was that the listing specifically for this room showed a nice circular alcove so that is exactly what I was expecting. I had even picked this room which was a little more expensive than the other one available just for that very reason. I feel short changed by not getting what was shown, this is very misleading.

The entrance lobby, reception and bar are beautiful. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was well equipped, clean and had everything we needed for our nights stay. We chose the hotel on location and price and I’d definitely recommend it to others.

Great hotel, will be coming back!

Very welcoming girl at reception, polite and helpful. Told us we could check in at 12 instead of 3 which was a big help for us so we didn't have to come back to the hotel later on. Room was very nice, small kitchen quality smeg appliances. Would definitely stay here again, really nice caffe downstairs aswell. Only drawback was the road noise/club music could be heard slightly but it's to be expected and wasn't too loud.

Great central location. Welcoming staff. Spacious suite, kitchenette, dining and living space. We had great nights sleep, comfortable bed and it was quiet. Perfect.

Really friendly at reception, room was immaculately clean and nicely decorated. Parking next door at the NCP car park was very secure, 1 minute walk away, £22 for 24 hours paid via the app which isn’t too bad for a city and the convenience. Only negative is the room layout meant you couldn’t watch TV from the bed as it was in a separate living area and hard to see from the sofa due to size and distance (we stayed in a studio). Great hotel for location and everything else though.

Comfortable apartment, although quite dark through poor lighting. Kitchen well-appointed and bed very comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall a nice stay in a central city location, close to Chinatown.

The girls at the front desk were great! They were friendly and assisted us with recommendations for food and touring information. Rooms were very spacious and seemed more like an apartment.

Easy walk from the train station. Good check in service. Very nice apartment. Bed very comfortable. Kitchen quite well equipped, missing a few items. Handy Tesco express opposite for food items etc. Easy walk to town centre or along the canal. .

Ideal location and hotel!

Another great stay at Whitworth Locke Manchester. Staff were super friendly and efficient as usual. Room was perfect again. The main bar area wasn’t open and hoping this will be refurbished soon.

Tidy looking but lacks a/c and dated technology

The design of the place is excellent, a very 90s/00s feel. Sadly some of the technology is also from that era. TVs aren't very smart and keep locking up, wifi is mediocre there's no air conditioning. I tried opening the window, they were doubled with the outer window sealed close and filthy on top, needed to deep wash my hands after trying to open. I would visit again, but only in the colder months.

I had a most excellent stay here. It’s a walkable distance to the Manchester Piccadilly train station and city centre. There are also many restaurants close by to choose from and a Tesco’s across the street. Not only a convenient location, it has a great coffee shop downstairs and a beautiful sitting area to hang out, check messages and enjoy the beautiful space. The wifi was also never spotty or slow. I would totally stay here again. The staff were helpful and friendly and our room was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. Really felt like home!
