The best stay for miles
Always an amazing stay here The staff ate great, rooms are perfect with everything you need classy and modern. Great food too if you get the chance yo enjoy it
The staff were very friendly. The room was very clean. I was delighted to hear that i got an upgrade to a junior suite which was amazing. Thank you!

Mixed feelings. The Expedia price was over £200 for a suite. We had a lovely room with 3 chairs and a desk: that is not a suite!!! The bathroom was superb with big bath and extra shower, though hot water was slow to arrive. Reception staff were excellent; the barman produced 2 superb cocktails at a very fair price. But at breakfast we were shown a table and told 'that is the buffet' but not given menus or even told that we had to order hot drinks. A waitress helped us out but we'd already eaten from the buffet so it was too late to order extras. The room had windows that open (good!) but no air conditioning (listed building?) however, there was an excellent Dyson cooler/heater. Great to have a fridge and coffee machine with free water etc Towels and bedding were truly luxurious. But on leaving we were asked to pay an extra (roughly £9) fee for a service charge for the room (on top of £200 paid) I have never been asked for this before in any hotel and it rather soured the stay. To be fair we were told this was optional and did not pay it. Location is perfect: very quiet, by Forbury Gardens, thus near the station and not far to walk to the Hexagon for events. But as a dictionary pedant I do feel a suite means a separate sitting room (as in most hotels) and thee nomenclature should be luxury room or larger room!
1 night stay
All good
Had a great weekend stay at The Roseate. Very spacious room (House Premium Room) with separate bath and shower. It was a nice breakfast, but I felt somehow about the service charge that was attempted to be added on top of the breakfast charge.
Excellent service
Beautiful suite
Got there early and they let us leave car and come back later for check in. Our room was a junior suite which was such a great price. 4 poster bed, a deep couch and a lovely spacious room that was a perfect temperature.
Great staff who were very helpful
I contacted the property before our stay to ensure that there would be parking available as my husband is disabled and was told that they had plenty of parking. When we arrived at the front of the hotel we asked where the parking was and was given a map which takes you 1 1/2 miles round a one way system to access the rear of the property, when we did this there was no parking available. We had to walk 20 minutes for the nearest available parking at a cost of £16 completely contradictory to what is on the hotels website as the footbridge linking the hotel to the centre is under repair and closed. When I asked the receptionist why they provided us with the map when they knew the car park was full the receptionist was incredibly patronising. I did complain to the manager who in fairness did try and resolve matters but as he said the damage was already done. The restaurant food was the biggest positive of our stay.
Great hotel and great service
An amazing hotel, great setting, rooms are really comfy and quirky with bath tubs in the room and well layed out shower room. Viktoria was extremely helpful and provided great customer service.check in and check out was very quick and easy. Exactly what you want
Thus was our second visit, this time with our dog. Worked really well with a lovely park just over the road. It is a very comfortable hotel and very good value. We would definitely go back if needed to be in this area agein
The hotel is going down the hill. I stayed here 2 years ago and it was a great place, unfourtanely not any more.
Lovely hotel premises with comfortable rooms that felt luxurious. Very poor customer support which made our experience extremely frustrating. Very disappointing coordination between the hotel and the restaurant which made booking dinner prior to staying into an ordeal that took days to confirm. Massively overcharged on food which was definitely approved for £30 per head on Oaky service which was to be taken from room deposit. Appointment booking staff, receptionists and waiter was all informed of such pricing arrangement. Have not heard back from any member of staff since checking out and expressing my grievances.
Fantastic as always
I had a lovely stay at the Roseate. Beautiful hotel, staff were so friendly and helpful. I had a lovely massage at the spa. I had a couple of issues with the bathroom- shower heads weren’t working in shower or bath, but staff were great about it and gave me complimentary breakfast! Would definitely stay again
Caring staff and beautiful hotel, will definitely come again
Lovely hotel. Modern room with lots of space. Very central.
Ok
It’s ok
Phenomenal hotel with a great room.
Decent, convenient hotel. Only shame was the noise from the wedding but this died down by 11

Great location. Close to Reading train station, shops and restaurants and also across from Forbury park and the abbey ruins.
Staff are friendly and the reception area is nice. However if you're staying in the 'The House' keep in mind this is a slightly scruffy building past the car park that is like a Premier Inn but with smaller rooms.
It was my second time staying at The Roseate and the experience was just as good as the first time. The personnel are fantastic, very professional, friendly and helpful. It was especially nice to see familiar faces, almost felt like being home. The great location, close to all amenities, was an extra bonus. Thanks for making my stay memorable xx
I stayed 2 nights and enjoyed this hotel. Perfect location just a shirt walk to town centre. Also a short walk to the station. Very quiet area but close to everything. The room was clean and spacious and a good size shower (which I prefer to a bath/shower combo). Staff were very nice and helpful. The room has a coffee machine and a kettle, but no cups or coffee pods, sachets or sugar. I called reception and asked them to send something up and they only delivered two pods and a few cubes of sugar. I would have really like d more options and all hotels of this nature that I’ve stayed in have had a good selection in the room. I’d definitely return though.

Lovely stay, very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful, wish I had stayed longer !
Lovely place
Excellent Breakfast. Very spacious room
This was a lovely hotel with beautiful rooms and we enjoyed the art and decor. The breakfast was delis ious and the room was quite lovely with amenities and comfort !
This is an amazing building that has been thoughtfully converted. The rooms in the main block are large, comfortable and the bathrooms are especially spacious. The bed was a little too firm for me but that is a personal preference- it was huge and had lovely linen. The wallpaper was a little worn in places in my room but overall it felt very luxurious and the staircase and lobby are very grand and impressive. The staff are very friendly and helpful taking into account dietary preferences at dinner time. The thing I didn’t like was that the Carluccio’s next door has its extractor fans blowing out across the car park of the hotel which means there is a constant smell of meat and cooking blowing around that area and into the basement of the hotel. I would stay here again and felt our offer (room, dinner and breakfast) was excellent value for money.
Hotel was beautiful, very clean , definitely stay again , room was amazing
A mixed review - slightly disappointed.
It was a lovely hotel. I came with a partner and my baby girl. An employee kindly offered to push our pram against our wishes. Unfortunately he broke a wheel on the pram. When we came to the room in the other building from the main one, our room had chipped paint on the walls and using the shower would often flood the bathroom. Also, the toilet seat had a weird yellow stain on it as soon as we entered too. Otherwise, it was great. The complimentary penhaligons toiletries were amazing, the AC was great, and the staff were extremely friendly too. The view was not great from our room, but that is fine. I would probably give the hotel 4 stars, but my wife and daughter thought it was phenomenal.
Comfortable
Great hotel good location
Lovely and beautiful place
Excellent standard. Upgraded to a suite. Only problem was finding the rear parking and navigating road system in Reading. Drop off tricky.
Fabulous Hotel
My favourite hotel in Reading, nice welcome, excellent service and facilities combined with a lovely, spacious room. Highly recommended.
Lovely hotel and excellent location to city centre
X
All of the images paint a pretty picture but if you get one of the house suits, you end up paying over the odds for a less than experience. My room had scruffy finish, a locked safe which I couldn't open, a wardrobe that didn't open and worst of all a bin in the bathroom which wasn't emptied complete with a bloody plaster. Would not recommend a suit in the House building. It's noisy, dirty and overpriced.
Attractive, quirky decor, friendly and efficient staff, super facilities, car park is very convenient, comfortable bed, good to have private use of the sauna. Lovely hotel.
The service was beyond outstanding, particularly the staff at reception. They were all very friendly, professional and helpful. The hotel is centrally located with excellent connection links, shops and tourist sights nearby. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying at The Roseate again. Best wishes, x
First time visitors to the Roseate Reading. We booked a Roseate Prime Suite. It was lovely. Rrqlly impressed by the aesthetic of the room. Loved the fireplace and the four poster bed. The main hotel is beautifully decorated and really ornate. Staff were helpful and courteous. Everything we needed was provided in the suite. Was very luxurious. Would be happy to return. (Would have been handy to have a corkscrew/bottle opener in the room to accompany the mini fridge, and a selection of decaf coffee pods for the coffee machine; been these are minor niggles. )
Was clean and quite
Lovely room. Comfortable and clean. Lovely bathroom and shower. Food good in restaurant with great service. Parking as well.
Beautiful hotel , large and stylish room with great Restaurant.
Good
The room was amazing and the service was excellent. Stayed 2 days in executive suite. Loved the bed, the desk that I worked from, the bath was also amazing! The only complain would be the heating floor, it was so warm in the room that first night had to sleep with the fan on. However, I called the reception the next day and they fixed it.
Amazing
Lovely hotel, really helpful staff, room was exquisite. Loved it!
Liked unique rooms and the feeling of luxury in this hotel staff very welcoming.
Underwhelmed by ‘prime suite’
Although we had a nice time at the Roseate I was slightly underwhelmed. I booked a prime suite as looking at the pictures online it looked really nice. However when I opened the door to the room I felt dissapointed and it looked much more like their standard room online. In the pictures of the prime suite online there were four poster beds, sofas, a fireplace and seating areas which our room did not have. I don’t think you could class this room as a ‘suite’ I understand not every room is identical however seems like the images online are very misleading.
Revellers in Reading
Service was wonderful. There were a few hitches with the dinner party we had arranged, but it was addressed immediately. We were more than adequately compensated with a private room and various other upgrades. A most enjoyable post Christmas weekend.
Roseate
Really enjoyable easy access to the centre and train station
Disappointing
The hotel was fine, nothing spectacular, I found the room was disappointing, no tea or coffee. There was a kettle and a coffee machine, but nothing to compliment it. Odd layout of bathroom. Card key system left a lot to be desired to get in, out and around the hotel.
Accommodation was in the adjacent building called The House, not the main building which is displayed in the pics on the website contrary to our expectation.
This was a lovely place to stay, Jessica provided everything that was needed for a relaxing glamping experience. I can’t wait to go back.
Hot water not working in my room (304) despite a complaint and pledge to fix it ... and it was 2 degrees outside.
Would recommend to friends.
Best!!
Amazing. Far superior to other hotels.
Suite?
Only thing that I would score down on was the fact it is described as a prime suite, yet it felt nothing like a suite no sofa two small chairs which would be fine for a coffee but not for relaxing.
Loved everything about my stay at the Roseate Hotel, the building and decor are fantastic!! I stayed in the modern house building, which was also lovely, will definatly book to stay in the traditional building next time though, as it looks exquisite, the staff where all smiles, very welcoming and helpful, the massage me and my wife recieved at the Aheli spa was wonderful, i didnt have the oppertunity to try the restaurant, but it looked and smelt amazing!! Nice secure car park, limited spaces though, The central locstion is perfect for the station, shopping, restaurants and night life, I cant say enough good things about this place, will definstly be staying again
Will return
Beautiful room, gorgeous breakfast
Amazing hotel, very friendly staff. Felt really special there.
Had an enjoyable night at the Roseate in a suite. Very comfortable. Easy check-in, pleasant and accommodating staff.
Won’t go back
Noisy - somebody though there should be a locked door on the wall dividing two rooms through which you can hear everything from next door. No aircon even though it’s advertised. Dirty curtains. Car park was full - nearest available was 10 mins walk away.
The hotel was immaculate and the staff went out of their way to accommodate every customers, especially the reception desk worker Anastasia! She was totally committed to customer service! She should be recognized for it!
Best hotel in Central Reading
Easily the best hotel in Central Reading always flawless
Was upgraded to a bigger Suite Room but was put on the 5th floor and the lifts were broken! Not ggod with carrying my lugguage 5 flights of stairs!! Walked 5 times when i left my room when i went out in the evening!! If id known would of just stayed in my original room. Not a good look having yiur lifts broken and saying you are waiting for parts to arrive...!!
A beautiful hotel in central Reading by a small park and a short walk from the railway station. The staff at check in were very helpful and flexible (I was able to leave my bags early and return late at night as I was attending a wedding). There were just a few little things that stop me from awarding 'excellent' especially for a luxury hotel, such as this. I was staying in the 'House' where unfortunately the lift was broken and I was on the 6th floor. I didn't mind the climb but I could imagine it would exclude others. Some of the floor tiles in the bathroom were missing. There are very extensive tea/coffee facilities, wine and water glasses in the room, but no milk to make a cup of tea. The route from the 'House' to the main hotel is not clear (I almost walked into the kitchen). These are little things, overall a lovely and relaxing place to stay with great staff.
I was only there for 1 night, but the staff were v
I was only there for 1 night, but the staff were very helpful and polite - Great service
Great place to stay
Amazing hotel
Could not book any parking
Always a fantastic stay!
Great stay
Great staff and well equipped room
strange service
Rooms are not air conditioned and could be stuffy in hot weather, fans are provided but they just move hot air around the room
Excellent
Wonderful hotel in Reading
Expensive but classy and comfortable hotel in the centre of Reading. I absolutely loved it.
Lovely hotel. Awful breakfast
This is a lovely hotel with great rooms, lovely lounge and common areas and very close to Reading town centre yet quiet and peaceful surroundings. However, breakfast is really really poor. Service appalling, choices very limited , no fresh bread or rolls, plastic ham and cheese and a poor attitude from serving staff more interested in their social media than customers. Shame as the hotel is otherwise excellent
Hard to find the carpark if you are not familar
Lovely hotel. Great room. Could not find the carpark so ended up using a multistorey which cost me £25 :( Could do with some extra signage as I later realised I had passed the carpark.
Nice hotel close to City Centre
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. It was quiet and clean. The room had many amenities including kettle, coffee machine, ironing board, iron, robe, slippers. The linens are good quality. There are Penhaligan toiletries. The bed was so firm that I folded the duvet in half and slept on it so that I could be more comfortable. The switch for the heated towel bar was broken so it did not work. There was a bad smell in the bathroom as if there was a drain issue.
Beautiful hotel . I love travelling. But I feel the staff were not friendly at all . The receptionist both of them I had to start a conversation.it’s like they are being forced to work if I’m honest . Maybe coz we were there for 1 night maybe that’s why . But I go to hotels so I can go back again . Apart fro m that . The hotel is beautiful
This is an excellent hotel, well managed, suberb suite, good eats. The only issue is parking. On arriving you have to park on double red lines to ask the hotel where to park (which is right behind the hotel but requires a mile drive around to get there. Having the door man greet the arriving guest and helping w bags would be hugely appreciated. Keeping a parking spot in limited spaces is a challenge too. Without a car this hotel is pefect.
Surprise stay
Stayed over night to after a menu tasting. Which was delicious. The room was amazing. The staff were knowledgeable and polite and attentive I would recommend this hotel.
A lovely quiet hotel in the middle of Reading! Rooms are large and comfortable with a heated floor in the bathroom. The staff are friendly and accommodating. A nice experience.
Beautiful hotel, have stayed before. Sadly service was not so good this time. Had water pouring through the bathroom ceiling at midnight…..night manager came up, said hotel was full, put towels on the floor and no more could be done! Water was very bad so asked the hotel to find us somewhere else to stay and refund us….suddenly another room was available and we moved at midnight. Not the hotels fault that water came through the ceiling but the service and attitude of the night duty manager wasn’t great and no apologies from the hotel. We stay in Reading quite often, visiting family, but won’t stay here again. Shame as the hotel is lovely and a great location.
Love this hotel.
Love this hotel - staff and friendly and helpful and the rooms are well appointed. The hotel is beautiful and the location is unbeatable for central Reading.
Fantastic hotel and restaurant, big improvement on anything I've found in Reading before
They were
Would stay again and again
The staff was very kind and respectful, the room was fantastic, very clean. They scattered rose petals on the bed and left us a wedding card and some chocolates as it was our wedding night. Overall extremely happy
Quiet gem in Reading town centre
Great hotel in a quiet place in the centre of Reading.
The Roseate Reading is centrally located and right next to downtown and very walkable to the train station and parks! We loved our stay in the House studio. Our laundry machine wasn't working while we were there so housekeeping even offered to do our laundry for us. The room was large and clean, bathrooms are beautiful. Parking was convenient, we never had a problem. Would definitely stay again.
Nice room, clean. Not quite as big as I was expecting for a suite but it was fine for our purposes. Bathroom shower is great. Could be more pictures online to really show that off as the pictures are limited. Dinner was really nice, I prefer slightly bigger portions but it was really really tasty. Haven't had breakfast yet but I'm sure it will be great
My wife and I stayed for a birthday dinner. We had a wonderful time.
Very nice stay, close to town centre. Just be aware not all rooms are in the beautiful old building. We were in a newer building but the room was brilliant.
