Superb! Fantastic staff. Such a well run pub. View is incredible. Beach is amazing. Will definitely be back.
We stayed at The Port William Friday and Saturday night in January. We choose this place due to its location to the coast and its positioning right at the side of Trebarwith Beach and the promise of a sea view and relaxing atmosphere. We were not disappointed! This is a lovely spot right on the SW Coast Path and only a few miles walk into Tintagel. The rooms were small but cosy and more than adequate for our stay. There is a small fridge stocked with items from the bar and nibbles - crisps, nuts (payable on checkout), kettle, nespresso machine, milk, sugar and gorgeous Furniss biscuits. There is a TV but we were happier watching the view of the ocean from our room window. The breakfasts were included in our booking - there is a basic continental breakfast - bread for toast, croissant, pain au choclat, cereals, yogurt and a selection of juices or you can pay for a cooked breakfast. We dined here on an evening and the service from all members of the team was excellent. We would love to come and stay here again as we had such a relaxing time where the staff obviously take pride in what they do to make your stay enjoyable
Fantastic location, friendly and attentive staff, excellent food. Recommended and will return
This is located on the most Beautiful spot right on the ocean with the cliffs and the waves and the breeze - Paradise. The restaurant was wonderful, the staff great and the room cozy. Wish we could stay here forever.
Fabulous location with very friendly helpful staff. Bathroom was a little tired but room very clean & comfortable. Great break with the dog as plenty of wonderful walks on the doorstep & beautiful sunsets
10/10 food and hotel - just ameneties not 100%
Loved this place and will be reccomending it to family and friends. Only issue with my room (room 3) was the TV had limited channels, and the remote for the fan didnt work so it was useless! Issues werent big enough for me to cause a fuss, and i loved the room and the meals were 10/10!
Lovely weekend away without the kids
Accomodation was great, only downside was parking. Although managed to park every day it was hit or miss as to whether there would be a space apart from that can't fault the place
Wonderful
The view outside our room was spectacular!
Amazing location, great atmosphere, great food and accomodation. Will definitely be back.
Wonderful place to stay. A very popular pub and so well cared for. Friendly for dogs who have great fun on the stunning beach when the tide is out.
Location great views.
Check your bill before you pay
Great pub with rooms. Cosy bar and restaurant area. Impressed with finishing touches in room. Everything you need and more. Restaurant food was average for the price. Great breakfast. Overall very happy with stay. Unfortunately the service from staff let it down. Having pre paid for room, on check out a staff member insisted we had to settle bill and would not hear of it that we had pre paid and found manager who insisted the same. Fortunately I was able to provide receipt as proof and discovered they had in fact given us an another customers bill. Sadly we had no apology neither did they admit any fault just a look of imbarresment and said “nothing to worry about it’s fine.” The member of staff who got her facts completely wrong was all of sudden no where to be seen. Advice is always check your bill is in the right name before you pay.
Sea break
Great 2 night stay. Fabulous position . Great to wake up to the sea in the morning. Room small but nice. Could do with more storage if staying for any length of time
The Port William, Trebarwith Strand
My husband and I had a 1 night stay at The Port William. Our room was exceptionally clean with a very comfortable bed which had very nice soft linen on it. The view of the sea was great! We had dinner whilst there and as a vegetarian the choices were great. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we felt very welcomed. Breakfast the next morning was excellent. I can recommend the walk along the coastal path to Tintagel and back. A 5 mile walkish, very beautiful and a great walk to do before the very substantial breakfast.
This is a lovely little pub and inn on the rocky shores near Tintagel.
VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF.VERY NICE FOOD EVERY BODY THERE WAS EAGER TO GIVE ANY ASSISTANCE YOU NEEDED THE HOUSE KEEPING WERE THE SAME NOTHING WAS A PROBLEM
Love this cozy getaway spot
A really pleasant hotel with friendly staff. We were there for two nights, with fantastic weather. The patio area outside the building was a great way to watch the sun go down. The rooms were clean and well furnished, managing to combine all the modern comforts I like in a hotel while still retaining the character of a small inn. The food was very good. And if you’re staying they reserve a table for you automatically, without requiring you to eat dinner there. Breakfasts were also good. This is Cornwall and it’s full of windy roads with narrow passing places. This made the parking is interesting, but we never had an issue. The area around the inn is gorgeous. Cliffs and stunning views with a lovely beach. The walk along the coastal path to Tintagel is worth the stay alone.
This is an amazing place to stay and eat in Cornwall- on a beautiful green cliff and overlooking the water!! The hotel and restaurant are in wonderful condition, and the staff is the best!!
Worth the effort
This place is sort of amazing . The drive in is challenging but , wow, it’s beautiful and a full service hotel. It’s right on the water and about 10 minutes to Tintagel. Room was beautiful. Fell as asleep with ocean sounds. Even the Wi-Fi was excellent. Good menu. Great breakfast options. Highly recommend
This was such a cute little hotel over the restaurant. There was some construction going on so scaffolding was impeding the view, but it wasn't that big of a deal. The parking situation is crazy though. You either manage to get a spot up the hill from the hotel or way down the hill where you pay to park. I know it's a small town and minimal space, but paying to park when there isn't a lot of options seems ridiculous. The room was cozy and comfortable. The TV sort of worked. For some reason the guide didn't show what was actually airing on the channels, so I basically just flipped through them. Not a big deal, but could be a wiring issue. Overall, I would stay here again. I loved the view and all the outdoor seating (it was just too windy and cold when I visited). I also love that the restaurant is dog friendly.
Very enjoyable trip
Lovely location of Hotel and enjoyed a walk to Tintagel along the cliff path. (2 miles) Room overlooked the sea. Beautiful views of sunset from room and bar lounge. Breakfast was excellent and we had a really delicious Sunday roast in the restaurant.
Amazing find! Worth every penny
Amazing place with a great atmosphere! Love the food in the pub too
Excellent place to stay
Fabulous weekend at the Port William. We took our dog and she was made very welcome and received a little goody bag including a ball, some treats and other really useful things. Food is good, staff are highly efficient and very friendly and welcoming.
The Port William
Lovely stay. Great sea views. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Great breakfast choice each morning. We also had an evening meal at the pub, great food and well presented. We would definitely go back again.
Great location and fantastic breakfasts!
Fantastic location room with a spectacular view.
Fantastic location really friendly staff lovely food, breakfast was amazing and our room had a special view. Bed was a standard double which we found small given we are quite tall people but very comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel.
Owen
What an amazing location, first time at this hotel and will be back again soon. The views are amazing. The staff and welcome were great and they couldnt do enough for you. Room was very comfortable with great views of the sea. Food in the evening was superb and breakfast was excellent quality and included in the price.
Winter getaway
Great location - stunning view and lovely food - perfect.
Great location, cute place, great service.
Great location, right on the ocean. Beautiful old building, with great food. Continental breakfast is light but functional. Parking included. Great service, friendly staff.
The seaside setting was beyond spectacular! The tables overlooking the crashing waves and surfers were perfect. The inn and restaurant were very enjoyable. The breakfast was great, also.
Hosts were extremely gracious. Gorgeous view and nearby beach.
A very relaxed stay
Very friendly and helpful staff. I have a nervous dog and they showed me how to get through a quieter entrance before bringing her in. The room was lovely and very clean. Super quiet over night even being New Year’s Eve. Breakfast was fantastic. Great views. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely hosts and staff friendly and relaxed. Rooms well maintained, decorated and furnished with a great view of the coast. Pet friendly. Food was fabulous
Great
Lovely stay, great hosts and helpful and friendly staff. Great location and beautiful spot. Clean and modern room with lovely sea view. Would highly recommend.
Fabulous
Fabulous weekend break. Lovely room, comfortable bed and good shower. Breathtaking views of the sea and the sunset. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Only slight downside (and this is very picky) is that a the Inn was clearly short staffed and although the staff did their very best, there were some delays in the service. Overall we had a great stay and will definitely visit again
Best by a country mile
Wow…what a great location. Staff were super friendly & just couldn’t do more to help you, even though they were short staffed. Loved the fact that they are super dog friendly, everyone had their dog with them at breakfast/lunch/dinner …wish we had taken ours.
Lovely cosy stay at the pub, food great and great welcome in these weird times, treated our dog to a sausage at breakfast 🐶😃 the sea view was awesome and wild 🌊 👍
Disappointing food
We had stayed here previously. The staff were friendly, our disappointment was in the food. The menu was very limited with items sold out. We could not request how well we would like a steak or have a sauce. We understand due to Covid there is a revised menu but they couldn't offer all the reduced menu.
Lovely place super people
Amazing people. Recommend. Thank you for being so lovely to us
An amazing stay
The view was absolutely amazing. The fish and chips with the curry sauce was ansome. Breakfast was also excellent as even though we live in Cornwall fried bread and hogs pudding is scarce on most breakfast menus. Well done to all
Excellent hotel fantastic views great staff.
excellent all round from service to facilities.
Stunning cliff top location with lovely view from the room
Dommers stay
Amazing lovely place. Wonderful staff. Great food and the location perfect. Bedrooms beautiful and what a hidden treasure
I always love staying at this hotel. The view is unbeatable end it is perfect for Cornwall. I will always come here for a stay when coming to the UK.
Lovely room, excellent service, staff were very helpful, fabulous meals,
The Inn looked straight out onto the beach and the only one in the area. A very special little place to be.
Lovely location
Lovely hotel in picturesque location. Very little to do locally but the premises are on the coastal path.
The staff were extremely friendly and efficient An amazing location just stunning Our bed was really comfortable but a tad small Missed our breakfast as we had an early start but dinner of fresh ale battered cod was beautiful
Loved the location right above Trebarwith Strand. At night we could watch the sea and hear it crashing onto the rocks below. The hotel has great atmosphere, the rooms have been recently refurbished and our room (7 Dunderhole) was very spacious and airy. The food at the restaurant was tasty - I can recommend the Fish Stew.
Sea view
The location is everything. Ocean view and a broad beach at low tide. Crashing surf at high tide. Large outdoor eating area plus inside is nice too. Food is good.
Lovely setting overlooking the sea
The evening meal was very good and the breakfast set you up for the rest of the day.
It would be hard to find a more nicely positioned hotel. The rooms offer stunning views of the fabulous Trebarwith Strand. Inside, everything is lovely. My room was of high quality and the staff are remarkably helpful. The bar/restaurant is also extremely pleasant and offers very good food. I was particularly taken by the excellent background music - an eclectic mix of rare soul, blues, jazz and the odd pop classic. The music adds greatly to the atmosphere. I recommend The Port William unreservedly. We (me plus dog) greatly enjoyed our two night stay,
Fantastic location.
Had a really lovely couple of days at the Port William. The Staff were really helpful and friendly, food was delicious and plentiful and the room had a beautiful view overlook the beach. The only slight downside was the room was quite small and don't know if all the rooms are the same size but it was quite cramped although it was nicely decorated and bathroom and shower were more than adequate. If we go again I will check to see if there are larger rooms to be had?
This place was awesome. Solo traveler in Jan of 2019 and I was treated wonderfully. Room was warm enough I could leave the window open and hear the ocean at night! The hike to Tingtagel castle is about 40 min for an able bodied person, along the coast path, and downright one of the most beautiful coastlines to see. Was awesome being outside of the town too. Finding the place in the dark was slightly difficult, but there is a small private parking lot slightly up from the property. Checking was very easy, and the staff made sure to double check my booking both at checkin and checkout to make sure everything was squared away. They were kind throughout, always making sure I was comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous, and was included. I’d stay here again in a hot second.
Absolutely brilliant in every way. They made a great fuss of our dog, who loved it too! Even the added sausage at breakfast. Thanks to all the team.
Lovely views
We had a lovely stay at the Port William but unfortunately it was only for one night, but we will be back again for longer next time. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was lovely with great sea views. Rooms were small but very nice and clean with tea and coffee facilities.
Hotel right on the ocean, fantastic outlook. Free parking, great meals all day, breakfast was lovely. Rooms very comfortable and clean and staff were extremely dry. Would definitely come back.
Stunning location
Beautiful location excellent clean accommodation with helpful staff.
North coast
Friendly welcoming staff. Nice food. Very scenic view.
Great location very close to the sea, clean rooms, nice staff
Great hotel bedroom one minute from the beach
We really enjoyed the hotel and the friendly atmosphere within. We are in couple of nights and had drinks at the bar. A great breakfast every mooning that set you up for the day. We visited many places in Cornwall and this made an excellent base to travel from. Lovely sea views and the beach is great for surfing on but at high tide disappears and is then just rocks.
This is a striking location above the strand! Each room looks over the ocean and cliffs and the sunsets are amazing! Fun food and bar downstairs and very nice breakfast. Enjoy time at the beach, hike, visit all the Tintagel sights or see other areas of Cornwall from this lovely spot. If you are not used to Cornwall, the driving to get there is challenging. Because of the location, wi-fi was spotty but did work pretty consistently in the common area downstairs. We found the staff to be very nice.
Cornwall with hot weather
nice little room, good Location, good food
Was very nice , the views are amazing
Really nice hotel with a a fabulous location overlooking a beautiful beach.
Very pleasant. having lovely weather was the icing on the cake.
A superb location is always a bonus. But the real stars are the staff. Cannot fault them for their friendliness, fun, professionalism and care. Top notch.
Lovely place to stay, warm, friendly, comfortable with lovely food and selection of drinks. We'll be back!
