Pretty red pool. Great food and drinks. The surrounding areas are a bit tired and dirty. Rooms are a clean with a fresh style. Worth a stay if you want something a little less Thai like. This is more European vibe.

Hot Water Issues

No hot water, no water pressure, bugs.

4th time staying here so that gives an indication of what I think. Rooms are large and clean and going undergoing some minor refitting. Staff are incredible, very friendly and helpful and even remembered things from my last stay. Beach is amazing too. Great for couples. Not so much for families. Can’t recommend more!

Very nice and clean property with lots of friendly staff. Even some part was under renovation it didn’t disturb or interrupt our stay. We would come back for sure

The room was large and I liked that the hotel had a sense of calm in a busy area The beach wonderful and in July was perfect for swimming Breakfast was excellent and good choices off the A L Carte menu If you are going to chaweng in Samui this is a good choice if solo or couple

Amazing experience

This hotel is remarkable! I have nothing but amazing things to stay. Service, food, room were all top notch! This was our favorite hotel while in Thailand.

Really nice place. Wish they had Thailand coffee. Invest in a real coffee maker. Good coffee is everything in the morning. The property is beautiful. Great staff.

Whilst the library hotel presents itself to the visitors as a minimalist themed location I must be honest. The hotel is in need of a facelift it’s shabby. My room was clean but stained curtains and textiles. One toilet broken just not what it says. I paid £8760 for my stay very expensive. I asked a prospective doctorate student to have dinner to discuss her proposed research topic. The reception staff would not let her into the hotel unless I paid 3000 baht. She was insulted as was I. They took her to be a prostitute. The decking on the main walkway to the rooms is in a bad state of repair and dangerous. Never again I have always seen Expedia as a good company but after this I don’t think so would use them again. Bad show all round!

Beautiful property access location excellent staff

In general this hotel is very nice. I like its concept of a library. Design is brilliant. Old trees contribute to the overall atmosphere of quietness and wisdom. But ocean at East coast is very wavy. I could not swim there. And in the morning there was a dead body on the shore. It somehow resonated with a quote on the window in my room “Life is short, live it now”

I want to write e fair review. Pros : Great location, friendly and helpful staff, very clean and neat rooms, everything looks handpicked and well designed at this hotel, 26 rooms so very quiet and peaceful, nice private beach and pool Cons : 1. The restaurant is overpriced 2. The way that they approach a problem is not very customer friendly, we had a water leakage in our first room and they offered us a free dinner ( a special menu not what u want ) and they gave us a room which was smaller and older. In the second room the hairdryer went on fire in my hand! And all they did was an apology. I think the management team has set limits for the crew so they cant do much

3rd stay here this year which goes to show how much I love the place. Great location right on Chaweng beach, excellent rooms and food as always!

Staff are very helpful & approachable. They went beyond their duty to help me, especially Dear and Nam. The foods are amazing. They serve excellent breakfast.

Really cool theme! I absolutely loved my stay here. I splurged and got one of the secret chapter rooms and it was totally worth it. Comfortable with tons of space. Thematic all the way through. Really nice pools and immediate access to a beautiful and immaculate beach. Staff went all out with service, providing snacks and showcasing that typical Thai-friendliness with all smiles. They made sure my shuttles arrived for my day trips and even provided a to-go breakfast when I checked out super early to leave for the airport. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!

Will stay again

Great location, quiet compared to other hotels along chewang beach. Excellent part of the actual chewang beach as in not reef. Service was also the best.

Amazing Hotel, amazing staff & highly recommend it

Amazing Hotel, amazing staff, super friendly and one of the best restaurants in Koh Samui within the hotel... Very boutique, the best breakfast service I had, private beach, pools, etc... Attention to the detail was amazing... Was on our honeymoon and they made it super special. Highly recommend it. 5 Stars to all the staff!!! Thank you!!!

Very nice place

I had a great time at The Library. It's a unique property--and one I'd heartily recommend. The room was modern, clean and quiet, and I had a view of the beach and water from my balcony. The beach and pool are both excellent. Also loved the awesome breakfast and awesome staff. I'd go to Koh Samui again just to stay at this hotel again.

Quiet as a…Library

The Library lives up to its name as it was very quiet and peaceful but also close to the main area for bars and restaurants. Service was 10/10 and very clean but could do with a little (just little) post COVID spruce up.

The best hotel in the world

An amazing experience! Such a fantastic hotel, staff were the best (especially Tik), nothing was too much trouble. The room itself was special, everything perfect. Bed huge, and very clean. The best hotel we’ve ever stayed at. The food was unbelievable, kayaks/paddle boards available for free! Cocktails on the beach amazing, pools amazing. Get yourself here!!

Fabulous boutique hotel with the best beach!

Beautiful beach location boutique style hotel in a central location of the bay. Quality of food was outstanding. Staff very friendly and helpful. Can’t fault anything and will definitely revisit in the future.

I loved my time here. I was looking for somewhere quiet after traveling for a month. The property and design speaks for itself. The staff is so lovely and accommodating - from check in to the restaurant to pool attendants. They were also so kind to surprise me with a birthday cake and accommodate a late flight. The made to order breakfast was also delicious. The choice of two pools and beach are perfect. I will definitely stay here again!

Fell in love with the unique minimalist design, it’s beautiful! Staff was friendly and helpful especially grateful for Opor at reception. There was a thunderstorm one night, water leaked from our glass door, it was quickly repaired the next morning and management was nice to give us drinks credits. Overall the entire resort needs to catchup on cosmetic repairs so the place can return to its full glory. Will gladly stay here again when we return to Samui. Thank you!

Great contemporary hotel and restaurant

Great contemporary style hotel. A little long for check in due to a mix up between hotels.com and the hotel but that was the only issue. The facilities were excellent and I was impressed with the breakfast as it was a la carte rather than buffet and great quality

Amazing stay. This is my second time in this hotel and I absolutely loved it. Room are extremely comfortable and breakfast is fantastic. It beds some make over and some painting to the exterior but it didn’t affect our wonderful experience. I will definitely come back in the future ❤️🙏💫

One of the friendliest and helpful staff I’ve encountered. They helped us navigate the COVID testing requirements and assisted with the logistic to get to and from the testing facility. They also assisted with transportation to our next hotel in Ko Phangang, they called the other hotel and looked into the schedule, price for their private boat shuttle and booked us on the boat. On the morning we checked out, we left before the breakfast was served so they packed us a little snack bag with sandwiches and drinks. 10/10 for the staff there.

A truly amazing hotel. Fabulous rooms and great facilities . Each and every one of the staff were excellent . Very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they all really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and relaxed . Will definitely return .

Very charming boutique

Very charming boutique hotel. Great Thai and European food. From what I could see the best on the stretch. Older people should be careful since there are steps. However, some rooms may be adapted for people with disabilities. I simply do not know.

Best Hotel in Chaweng

Best hotel I've been to in my life. Service is top notch, design is unique and modern, and the food/drinks are great.

The privacy of the rooms and extra facilities for the suites were amazing. The staff could not have been more helpful if they tried and made everything a breeze.

Superb. Exclusive. Felt like we were alone at the place. Outstanding service and ambience! A great retreat away from it all despite being in the centre of the strip of Chaweng!! Ultimate hotel style and comfort!!

Great hotel tucked away on Chaweng beach

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The grounds are lovely, and you feel very tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng Rd. The rooms are very spacious and clean, we stayed in a studio room and enjoyed being on the upper floor amongst the trees. The beach is very clean, and we often had the beach section in front of the hotel to ourselves. We cannot fault this hotel at all. Perfect location, and wonderful service.

We had the pleasure of staying in the Bookmark Suite during our stay at The Library. The room itself, decor, design, etc was truly one of a kind and remarkable, if not a bit over-the-top. The double king bed was amazing! The room was very cold due to what seemed to be a problem with the air conditioning, however better to be cooler than hot.The resort staff seemed aware that we were the "Bookmark" guests and we received what seemed to be VIP treatment, which was much appreciated. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The red swimming pool was very cool! The Drink Gallery was great in concept, but food and cocktails simply were not that great. Beachfront restaurant and breakfast was much better, however with these limited dining options we went offsite for most of our meals. Beautiful, clean beach with food / beverage service, although there is quite a bit of activity on Chaweng beach and not necessarily ideal for quiet relaxation. The location to walk either direction on Chaweng beach and also walk into town was nice, although we did not find Chaweng town as welcoming and enjoyable as Fisherman's Village. The only part of our stay at The Library that needed improvement is the check-in process and front desk. It's very small and was a cluster of stored baggage and shuffling of activity - it was like checking-in on the baggage claim belt at an airport. This was very different from our check-in experience at many other resorts in Thailand.

Love the location, the beach and the food. But price for room was too high and wasn’t worth it. Definitely I’ll stay again if prices will become more reasonable

The Library-Koh Samui

The Library is an amazing oasis of peace and privacy in a popular resort. You can experience the beach and other local attractions but retreat to the tranquility of the Library when you want some quiet relaxation. A truly unique hotel with many wonderful design features. The staff were all tremendous, and the standard of service and attention very high. There is a range of rooms and villas available, and we are already planning a return trip next year to try a Secret Chapter villa that we were shown that was truly, oone off and incredibly amazing.

Only complaint was that the Lobby was a little grubby. No art or flowers. Did not fit with how cool the rest of the property was.

Amazing design, great service, excellent location

Amazing design, beautiful scenery, great service, excellent location in Chaweng. Just as beautiful and luxurious as many of the other beautiful resorts on Samui but avoids the need to travel to find shops, food, massages as it is right in the Center. The wine bar is great. The night food market is very close if street food takes your fancy. Swimming pool and beach area are great. Food is delicious. The library of books and DVDs is a great accompaniment for those rainy tropical days on Samui. Staff (special mention to Por) are very courteous. The NYE party was also well coordinated and it was the place to be on the beach after midnight for live music and dancing. Will definitely stay here on future trips to Samui

Great hotel and location

The Library is a beautiful hotel on a perfect Thai beach. It’s an oasis just steps away from Chaweng Beach Road and you’d never know you were right in the heart of things withthis quiet and serene location. The staff is thoughtful. The small touches are clever, like the bookmarks left in your pillow during turn down service. The restaurant is delicious with local and western options. The only “negative” is that there is no spa on the property. There are many option of varying prices within a ten minute walk though. I went with friends who have stayed at The Library several times. I under why they return. I will return as well. Special thanks to Anna for all her help.

Beautiful hotel (loved the minimalist concept in the rooms) in a great location. Staff were very welcoming and nothing was ever too much trouble. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend The Library to anyone who considered going.

Bohemian Yet Modern Beachfront Property

Great hotel, nice location, pool and beach...rooms have individual Mac computers to use, which is a nice touch. Fitness centre is very small though and could benefit from blinds or curtains as gets very hot

Okay boutique hotel right on Chaweng

Small, modern boutique hotel of about 30 rooms situated on busy street on Chaweng beach. Spacious room but there were a few lizards that would creep in from time to time. :-/ the beach is gorgeous but the service was ok & food was GOD AWFUL. Seriously the worst food in Thailand. We ate dinner at a few other resorts during our trip including W & Zazen and they seemed much nicer. If we return to Samui, we would def stay at a different resort.

Had a nice stay in this quiet place. Close to some clubs if action is needed. Good food, though the service was a little slow. Room had some problems but the staff was friendly and helpful.

Honeymoon - Late November

The Library sits right on the beach in Chaweng. It's nestled into the heart of the beach action, but yet it's not too loud at night (as you'll find as you get closer to the ART bar further North on the Chaweng Beach, where the beat of the music goes until about 2-3am even on weeknights). The hotel staff are incredibly helpful with attention to every detail. There's room for a little bit of improvement, for example the handle on my shower came right off... I was able to put it back on, but a new one should be in order. It doesn't look old or out of date or anything though, just well used I guess? No other complaints. This place has a lot of its own character and we love that about it. My wife and I were on our Honeymoon, and we spent a full week here at the Library. Breakfast was awesome and complimentary. Walking out on to their deck in the morning, you sit down and are always promptly greeted by wait staff ready to carry out your breakfast order. I was a sucker for the buttermilk pancakes and the sausage link. When you're not ordering free breakfast, food off the menu is a bit expensive (U.S. equivalent pricing), but you can always go out and explore since you are well located.

Fantastic hotel - will be returning!

The Library is a fantastic hotel conveniently located in Chaweng. The hotel is tucked away from the Main Street yet still located on the beach front so that it's very quiet and relaxing. The attention to detail at the hotel is second to none, they have really thought of everything- complimentary chilled waters poolside, most comfortable lounge chairs at the pool, tasters from their acclaimed restaurant at midday... The Library is a haven! We especially appreciated the minimalist design and space. Loved the beach bar for happy hour and must say that it was so nice to interact with all the friendly experienced staff including O, J, M and even the hotel's Manager who took the time to find out how guests were enjoying their stay and how service could be improved. 10 out of 10 - look forward to returning soon!

Nice hotel but a couple of misses

We stayed here for 5 nights for our honeymoon. Hotel is nice, best breakfasts but other food and drinks were not up to par for the price. The street of Chaweng Beach has a distinct smell of sewage and it slightly lingers at times into the rooms. The hotel does take steps to remedy and it didn't ruin our time. Staff was really nice and room and pool were nice. Live music was not great.

Very special experience

The hotel rooms the facilities and the library theme are really great. I enjoyed very much the breakfast on bed on the beach, which was excellent - the food, the beach and the service are just marvelous.

Design hotel

Loved staying at this hotel . Very very comfortable and relaxing despite being in main part of chaewang beach . Hotel is very well maintained and unique . Breakfast great ! Great service ! Stayed 4 nights and despite average weather during stay the library was so good it didn't matter . Highly recommend !

Great in isolation or in the midst of things

I'm a New Yorker so relatively picky in places that I stay. The library is a very nice resort that I would definitely recommend. It is a wonderful isolated property that offers Oceanside access within steps as well as a great pool that is not very crowded. Having access to books and DVDs allows it to be a wonderful place to just relax and do nothing else. It is in the center of Chaweng beach, so if you prefer the crazy areas outside the property, it is immediately available to you. The service is friendly, and the restaurant is quite good, although at Western prices. We would definitely recommend the hotel.

There is little doubt that the Library is one of the most professionally run hotels in Chaweng. The staff, the design and condition of the room and facilities, the innovation (most especially beds on the beach for breakfast) and the food is of the highest quality.

Modern, cool, lovely service

Breakfast was included, and was lovely every morning with great views. Made to order pancakes, eggs, hollandaise sauce, fresh juices. Staff were lovely. Room was spacious, imac included, huge king size bed. Entire glass wall towards balcony which could be blocked off by shades (electronic controlled). Only 26 rooms but did not feel small at all. Not as much privacy though as people can see in so we had the blinds half down quite a bit. Pool small but very nice. Beach in front of hotel was good. Lunch at The Page was also excellent, we had thai food.

Luxurious Library!!!!!

Everything was fabulous, as expected. Spacious and pristine room. Between the beach and the main road. Breakfast was fabulous. Staff friendly and readily available. We had a double room, which was 2 singles pushed together with a common sheet, did not bother us, but might upset some couples.

Awesome place to stay

An awesome hotel that looks after every detail + more, anticipates your next move and then exceeds your expectation every time. A great place to stay, right on the beach but stands out by a mile from what we saw at Chewang Beach. Food is above anywhere else nearby, staff new what you ate for breakfast the previous day and if they didn't have what you liked just ask and it will be there the next morning.

Brilliant rooms, great architecture and landscaping. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Spectacular swimming pool, good beach, great views and wonderful food. If you visit Koh Samui do not miss out on this experience. If you cannot stay there, do go for a meal!!

The charming and efficient service began from the airport pick up & baggage handling; the welcome at reception with cool drinks and cold towels; to the beautiful vista down to the private beach. Apartment sized suites are named as 'pages' in keeping with the 'Library'; stunningly elegant and minimal decor; beautiful architectural design; soft grass; perfect cleanliness, maintenance of beach, garden, rooms; great food in keeping with the ambiance and a red swimming pool; beach-side service; the best library full of books of design, glossies, travel, interior decor and readable novels in English, German, French; great selection of new DVDs & sentimental oldies. The whole resort is 'up to the moment' and yet relaxing, private and exclusive because the rooms are spacious; the number of guests limited to give maximum privacy. Yet just outside the complex is the bustling, crowded chaos of so many tropical towns. I genuinely recommend this place to those who appreciate quiet refinement and high quality.

Best Hotel in Chaweng Beach

Second stay at the Library within 2 years. The Hotel is still amazing, refresh is being done. After 3 days in the SUITE room we moved to the STUDIO room and it changed our experience :-) The Studios are located in the 1st floor and so it gets more light in rooms. The staff people is very nice and friendly, very helpfull and always looking to satisfy your needs. Still an amazing experience and ready to come back. Hope some details will improve for next stay (free laundry, better fitness room, ipod music reader in studios too, airport transfer, ...) We stayed for Songkran festival (Thai's new year) and we have an wonderfull experience with the hotel's staff in front of the hotel throwing tons of water to people in the street.

Oasis of cool in Chaweng Beach

An oasis of cool in chaweng beach. The hotel is chic and quaint and has one of the nicest pools I have ever seen. I will recommend to anyone willing to spend a little extra money while traveling on ko samui

Safe Haven

This hotel is like staying in a modern art museum. All the spaces are extremely beautiful and the 2 red pools are stunning. The room is super modern all controlled by remote control and it was always super clean. The hotel staff was very helpful all the time. I really loved my stay here, you can really enjoy a peaceful stay in the middle of a busy street if that’s what you’re after, but also you can find anything you wish if you walk around in the beach or the street.
