Mediocare Value for Money. Room is not well equipped, minimal amenities in room (e.g. ear swaps, charger in lapmp not working, very small TV, .......
This was a one day work trip where I needed a convenient boite at which to freshen up and take shelter for a few hours. The location, transportation access, and amenities far exceeded my expectations. The staff and location were lovely. I will stay again should my work bring me to the area. (And possibly even if not. Cute quiet neighborhood great access to green spaces and diverse food choices.)
It was kind of a motor Inn vibe. Weren’t notified there would be major construction outside. We had room by elevator which was also loud. Cookies in lobby were nice touch. Close proximity to Presidio was nice.
Great hotel for Pac Heights stay
Great location! Very friendly staff. Coffee and tea in the lobby. Rooms are comfortable. Definitely recommend a stay here.
Lovely hotel
This is my favorite hotel to stay at in the area and I come back here again and again. Excellent service, very clean and very comfortable beds. It’s also in a safe walkable neighborhood with great cafe and bakery options nearby. They have hot tea and coffee in the lobby. I travel for work and find the desk in the room a nice place to work remotely.
The Inn is right across the street from the Jewish Community Center, which I liked because I was able to walk to my training. They also accommodated my parking until I returned from training, which was much appreciated. All the staff I encountered were friendly and nice. They had fresh cookies, coffee, and tea in the lobby.
One of only a few hotel options near Pacific Heights but basically an old remodeled Motel. Only problem is now they charge $50 per night for parking! Limited food service. No coffee in the room.
Everything was really great except the shower pressure was just awful. I would never stay there again based on that alone. The water barely came out so it was very hard to wash my hair.
We have family in area, so wanted to stay close by. Property is mature but very clean. Quiet, convenient, rooms are spacious. Even had a tv control an older person could operate. Not everywhere these days
The management staff and hospitality staff are so attentive and kind. The health environmental services (housekeepers) were spot on!!! Thank you all for your wonderful kindness to strangers whom you made feel safe and met our needs during a very challenging time. A rare gem of caring person’s in one location within a huge city!!
The front desk staff (lady) was very disrespectful and was snarky throughout my whole check in time. I had a power outage multiple times through the night which was unacceptable for the price that I paid. I will NOT be staying here again.
My go to stay in SF. Beautiful neighborhood and feels so safe and clean compared to downtown. Was really pricey this trip so hope I can afford to keep staying there. Also little concerned if cleaning is thorough. People bring in dogs and I’m very allergic. There was a nut on the rug behind a chair that never got vacuumed up. And little toothpaste splatter on bathroom wall.
Very cool authentic feeling inn that felt quaint but also had nice sized rooms/bathrooms and a very friendly staff. Great part of town.
Nice place. Nice people
Thoroughly enjoyed our QUIET 2nite stay. Staff is lovely; helpful & professional. We opted for a room w/kitchenette which gave us more space & in-room breakfast & coffee convenience. Always felt SAFE walking day/nite.
Good
Aug in Laurel Heights
Great stay, friendly staff, cool vintage hotel - great bar; nice location
Good value accommodation in a nice safe neighbourhood and very conveniently located to catch the Munis to other locations around town.
Quick trip to the Golden Gate Park attractions went smoothly
Staff and cleanliness were outstanding. Rooms need updating. I would like to see at least a coffeemaker in the room and if possible a microwave would be nice. Beds and linens were extremely nice. Chairs in room were not very comfy though.
Sorry - no time
After staying downtown and diliking it, I always choose the Laurel Inn for my bus trips now. Rooms are comfortable and bathroom updated and I really like the safe and calm feeling of the neighborhood. Looking forward to coming back when the building next door is finally built since 7-5 construction is unpleasant. Gill the manager tries hard to make it a nice experience.
Comfortable. Easy check in and check out. Solid amount of space for the neighborhood the hotel was in. The ac in the room emitted a strange smell though
Perfect location for our weekend of events. Friendly staff. Comfortable room.
Very comfortable bed. Presidio is a nice, quiet area. Nearby restaurant, bar and breakfast place excellent.
This is our second stay at The Laurel Inn. Both times were because of my husband having surgery at UCSF. This is close to the hospital. We just parked our car at the hotel and then I would Uber back and forth to the hospital. The staff here at the hotel is just wonderful, and the rooms are not fancy but I would say they are charming and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel. I would say that the lobby could use an update as that is where you get your first impression of the facility. Thank you for a very comfortable stay!
Having stayed at the Laurel Inn for over a decade it is sad to see the little declines-dirty laundry cart in hall for three days, end of breakfast amenities, staff not as friendly. The rooms were still spotless and the location great, but it has lost some of the neighborhood warmth.
Amzaing & caring staff. Stayed here while a family member was very sick in the nearby Kaiser hospital, they were very friendly & flexible. Short walk to the hospital.
Too expensive for what you get
Great location but the facility seemed a bit old and tired and in need of remodeling. It was expensive compared to similar hotels and the on-site parking was an additional $45/night. I won't be staying here again.
They were very helpful to suggest breakfast places and help with other suggestions
So happy I discovered this gem of a hotel far from downtown dirt and grime. It’s like another world. Tough walking the hills but great dining and shops in all directions. Make sure to ask if you want daily cleaning of room. Very helpful staff and easy parking for $42. Even facing Presidio street, felt peaceful and quiet. My second business trip here. Will keep returning.
Jill was great from the start. Super nice and warm after my long day of travels. grazie mille
Close to PAC heights and only option for In er Richmond. Not an amazing hotel though.
Very nice small hotel - comfortable and convenient. excellent staff. We will try there again.
very comfortable beds, friendly service, good coffee. would have liked if the food service had at least one healthy filling gluten free option.
Lovely rooms in great neighborhoods. Staff very friendly and helpful
Very helpful GM.
Excellent pet friendly!
Clean room, spacious, staff friendly.
Jill was wonderful accommodating my son the groom and his bride as they prepared for there wedding. It is a lovely hotel in a great location with parking.
Not sure I will stay anywhere else when visiting SF now that I have stayed here. The dirty and grimy feeling of union square and Soma doesn’t exist here. Stunning residential neighborhood and easy to walk to Presido plus great restaurants and shopping nearby. Took 30 min from airport so not that different from downtown. Outstanding staff. Modern decor in room. Room 308 very large and quiet. Are at Magic Flute and Spruce nearby…excellent. Walked to Brioche in Haifght and The Mill for breakfast and everything was excellent.
Excellent. It could even be better if they could accommodate breakfast even if simple.
Great location if one needs to be in lower pacific heights or presidio heights neighborhoods; easy walking and multiple transportation options. Rooms nice, staff very nice and helpful. Major issue and one item that may well prevent my return was terrible water pressure. Taking a shower was a trying experience; took forever. Attached bar Laureate I believe, very nice, small bites the limit for food but they were good; nice staff.
Property offers 2 parking spaces legally authorized for reserved placard and disabled plate guests, however they actually view the spaces as optional and even allow non authorized guests to park their cars in both spaces for their convenience. As a caregiver and driver for an authorized disabled person, I had to ask the front desk person to relocate one car so that I could re-park in the ADA space to load up at checkout. What bothered me the most is how the staff expected me to understand they have a need to do it despite overflow garage parking on another level which they intimated could inconvenience a guest as the entrance requires issuing a garage door clicker. What about inconveniencing a person who is disabled their rightful designated parking space? Not only baggage etc is loaded and unloaded but wheelchairs and close proximity for less mobile guests factor in. And then, to not offer an apology, and charge $42/day for parking? An apology goes a long way. The property and location serve my needs and satisfaction very well. I hope the management takes a better look at tracking when they have current disabled guests who require the parking space, and more importantly that they follow the federal law as posted on signage on their property. Very Disappointed, but only in this regard.
A lovely place with great staff ! We will return!
Very nice friendly staff
Super clean, great location
Computers were down at check in, but quickly got me in. Fantastic location, SUPER clean, spacious room, easily got a late check out. Would absolutely stay again.
Friendly
Was the perfect spot to stay when on business in San Fran. A hidden gem.
Comfortable room with dated furniture. The bed was ok, but the pillows were horrible and the bedding was cheap. The HVAC was noisy. The view from the room was very nice, but the window hd no shades so the rising sun was jarring.
large room
Love this hotel
We needed a room at the last minute due to a hospital procedure gone haywire. The hotel could not have been more accommodating, friendly, clean and safe. We actually hated to leave as it was such a beautiful room.
Clean and not generic even though it is a Hyatt.
The property was convenient to the location I was visiting but it is an older building and I was constantly awakened by the people in the room above my room as they would walk around for prolonged periods in the middle of the night.
3 star.
.
Super fun boutique hotel that really made our SF vacation wonderful.
No breakfast service
Very clean rooms and property. Staff is very friendly and goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is pleasant.
Attentive
Not worth the cost!
Hotels. Com said free breakfast- there was none. Parking onsite was $39...didn’t realize it would cost to park. Found a beer bottle and used catsup packet under night stand.
Very safe neighborhood
This was our 2nd visit to The Laurel Inn and we will return again. It's super clean, quiet and comfortable. We love the neighborhood and it's within walking distance to B. Patisserie which is an AMAZING bakery.
Little gem near the Presidio
We chose this hotel for its proximity to a family member’s apartment. It’s in a great quiet neighborhood and walkable to the Presidio. It has a nice little bar/restaurant to relax and grab a bite. Staff was very friendly and rooms were clean and nicely furnished. We will stay here again!
Great hotel in a very nice neighborhood.
Enjoyed Laurel very much
They advertised that they had breakfast. I chose this place, in part, because I wanted to provide breakfast to my son and wife. When I got there, they said their breakfast was “suspended” due to Covid and that they had pastries. Fine. The next morning, they didn’t have that and feigned ignorance until I heard another patron bring up the broken promise of pastries. This hotel seems to be hiding behind “Covid protocols” to cheap out. Then the hotel gave me a measly $10 off parking for my troubles. It cost $35 to eat out. It’s not the money, it’s the lack of truthfulness.
Such a great part of San Francisco to stay in. Close to everything and felt safe. Fun, funky hotel!
The woman who “greeted” me was very rude to me about moving my car to the lower lot. I explained to her that I am handicapped so I needed to stay where I was as there were no handicapped spots in the below parking lot. I just gave up because she didn’t understand my concern. I have just lost a loved one and this was the last thing I needed in my life. My room wasn’t even ready at 3:00 as promised and she asked if I had to have the king bed on my reservation. I said that’s what I paid for so if she wanted to downgrade me then go ahead but I would expect some money back. She said I needed to wait for my room to be ready so I did.
Great location and friendly staff.
East coast fam takes the west coast
Laurel Inn was a good space for our family. It could use a face lift and also had a musty smell. Lovely staff and other amenities such as coffee, cookies and a water bottle filling station.
It was a beautiful hotel and the staff was so friendly. Great location!
The property is nice and in a great location. Some things seem dated and needing a little love. Overall a sweet little boutique hotel.
Safe area. Good restaurants and shopping
Very friendly staff and room was very comfortable and clean.
San Francisco Views
Comfortable room. Very clean. Nice city view. Close to restaurants. A little pricey at $400+ per night, not including parking fee. Location was close to UCSF, which was our purpose of our trip.
Very convenient. The staff was very helpful and friendly! I will definitely be staying again, especially while my daughter is going to school in SF. Please let me know of room deals :).
Adorable, clean, and convenient location. I felt safe in the surrounding area. Would stay here again!
Los empleados todos muy amables desde la recepción asta la limpieza
Disappointing!
Advertising showed breakfast included and that was a deciding point for our choice. They no longer have an included breakfast or any breakfast at all. There is an oatmeal bar you can buy for $3! The lobby is sparse and it is hard to believe the photos used for advertising were taken here. I won’t choose this hotel again. Not a good value for the money.
The hotel had parking on site which is a perk for San Francisco. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and updated. Being on a busy street it was a bit noisy but got quieter late at night. The only thing we did not like were the beds. They were very uncomfortable and only doubles. They also charged for the food that was available for breakfast.
Great stay at Laurel Inn
I needed an overnight bolthole in the city, and the Laurel Inn delivered. Not only was it centrally located, but the onsite parking was a huge help. On top of that, a warm chocolate chip cookie at check-in was a nice bonus, as was the goody bag in my room (orange juice, sparkling water, flapjack, ..). The room was pretty big too. In short, a great overnight stay exceeding my expectations!
P
Our room was very nice.
I frankly picked Laurel Inn entirely for the location and the fact that they have a parking garage (given how horrible street parking is in San Fran). Great property though, our room had an incredible view, and we walked all over the area, only took our car out of the garage one time. Staff were really nice, greeted us with warm cookies ; )
Clean quit and tastefully decorated
The property was run down and had very tight spaces.
Lovely spacious room and amenities. Parking on site. Bar area next door with happy hour and well appointed furnishings. Would stay again.
The Laurel Inn is a great mid-price range SF option. The rooms are large, on-site parking is available, and it is in a good neighborhood- between Pacific and Laura’s heights and near walking distance to the Presidio. We found the Inn welcoming and comfortable.
Nice quiet
Nice room and view. No breakfast available.
Fun, boutique-y vibe - yet comfortable & good valu
We loved our stay at the Laurel! The hotel itself had a cool boutique-y vibe - loved the decor, color, art on the walls. Rooms were comfortable & spacious. The staff was friendly & kind. It was extremely good value & we would def book again.
Good place to stay
Very nice room, 1950's period pieces in good condition, good bed, very nice room.
Wonderful location, helpful staff
The location was great! Very convenient to walk to some great locations including the Presidio and Pacific Heights! Everything felt very safe. The staff members, especially Tanya at the front desk, were very helpful and accommodating. The on-site parking was very convenient. I enjoyed our brief stay and would certainly stay there again.
Expensively San Fran. Clean and desk manager was nice. Beds were terrible we ended up leaving early.
The property was walking distance to my daughter's apartment. Also, I felt safe walking to cafes, markets in the area. Convenient to public transportation.
We picked this place because it is close to my daughters apartment. The rooms are spacious and it is nice to have indoor gated parking. The only minor issue was that they forgot to make up the room - but these days good service is hard to find...
Laurel Inn staff was very helpful, accomodating and professional. Our room was very clean and comfortable as was the lobby and parking garage. We were invited to let staff know if we needed anything.
