The room was beautiful and spacious with a nice big window. Very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was great. The lunch and dinners at the hotel were also very good.

Lalit is the place to stay in Khajuraho

While the service and cleanliness were excellent, the hotel is a bit dated. Food options are adequate, but could be better. Extremely convenient location for the temples and the dance festival.

An excellent property to enjoy a visit to Khajuraho. The staff and management made us feel very welcome; attended to our needs and exceeded expectations! The restaurant offered a good selection in their menu - we took advantage of the local dishes which were delicious. Good value for money; and definitely recommended. Thank you LaLIT management and staff!

I lost my wallet prior to arriving. Hence, I had no plastic card to use for charging payment for my stay. I emailed the property asking if they could provide a method of online payment, where I could enter a card number, without having to provide the plastic card. (I had been able to make a similar arrangement with some of the lodging I stayed at prior to arriving here.) Multiple inquiries received no response. Couldn't even be bothered to say 'no'. Fortunately, I was able to wire myself cash just prior to arrival. So I paid in cash. I should have received the princely sum of 120 rupees in change, but the best they could offer was 100, with a promise to come up with a 20 at a later time. Sadly, they were unable to follow through on this commitment. Well, pocketing the 20 does improve the margins. Every little bit helps! Most of the workers here were helpful. But I have nothing good to say about the fellow who checked me in and pocketed the 20. PS: My one email inquiry that did get an answer was regarding the cost of an airport pickup. (Always respond when the there's a revenue opportunity!) To which they responded with a ridiculous price.

What made my stay special at the Lalit Khajuraho? The staff far surpassed expectations. They worked to make sure your every need was met. This hotel had to be the best in Khajuraho!

Pleasant Place

Nice hotel, very suitable for my trip.

We will NEVER stay at a Lalit property anywhere again. We were there with a large group who had declared this hotel as the main meeting place for some of our events. But then the hotel was imposing a mandatory New Year's Eve dinner on all of us at a very high cost, and none of us wanted to participate. But they were extremely rude and demanding and bluntly said we could leave if we didn't like it. So in the end we did leave-but not until after staying a handful of days, which were highly expensive and awful. AND the hotel was freezing cold everywhere. We had to bundle up just to go to the restaurant. AND the floor in the bedroom was tile and freezing cold. It was just a horrific experience. We don't recommend staying in this hotel chain ever!!

Lalit hotel in Khajuraho was a beautiful property with all the modern amenities. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a lot of variety and was delicious. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Khajuraho.

Excellent, and I mean excellent service. Close to most important Western temple collection. Great pool with beautiful blue and green opalescent tiles. Not cheap, but excellent value given the high quality. Tropical gardens, Hindu priest ceremony experience, airport pick up and day tours organised without fuss. Thanks To Amit who made all arrangements.

A great hotel closer to the Khajuraho Temples. Staff go extra mile to welcome you and make you feel at home.

Beautiful garden and pool, with solicitous staff. Located walking distance from the Western Group temples. The food was decent, although not mind-blowing. All in all, a great place to stay.

Hotel is very near the temples the rooms are ok for 5 star hotel the guy at reception kept insisting on booking a guide for next day for temples who happened to be his friend who charged me more and not very informative but my special thanks goes to the chef and the dining staff . Chef prepared special food for me for my 3 night stay. This is the highlight of my stay and I will once again congratulate the chef

Perfect hotel close to the Western group temples

Perfect hotel close to the famed Western group temples. The hotel employees went above and beyond to make sure everything was arranged including getting a guide, a small snack before breakfast. The hotel and grounds are breathtaking and the food is absolutely amazing! Would definitely recommend.

Astronomical unjustified prices. Disappointing.

We had reserved a Temple view room (for an additional fee). When we arrived we were offered a confined room with obstructed temple view. After we complained we were shown a room with temple view, but still tiny. Since we had planned a relaxing stay of 5 nights--- unusually long for this small touristic site--- we decided to take a (narrow) suite without temple view. The bathroom was poorly conceived (e.g. only one toilet). The price was exorbitant and the manager made no effort to offer a better deal. (By contrast, other hotels in India offered upon arrival a substantial complimentary upgrade for free). Throughout the visit we felt that the management was trying to maximize their profit for a minimal input. Breakfast was less than basic (compared to other hotels we used in India). The pool was freezing and no one used it, the gym had limited equipment (again compared to other hotels we used in India). The restaurant staff was warm and friendly but this did not compensate for the cold shoulder of the management.

Dear Sirs, I cancelled this reservation, because i had a problem with the Visa, 5 days before my arrival, and the took all the deposit of one night rate...that was not nice The other hotels, including The Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai, that i also canceled, 2 days before my arrival, made me a full refund, that was nice. When i re schedule my trip i will have in mind this client experience. Thank you for asking...

Excellent location But too high priced

Extremely warm welcome on arrival. Quick check in. Average kind of room. Outdated look. Good view from room n excellent location. Food was good but exorbitantly priced. Did not use minibar but staff said we did. Did not make any calls from room phone but their system showed we did. When asked to give the number so we could call n verify, we did not get the number.

Lalit temple view

we had a shaky start at the Lalit because hotels.com had sent the hotel wrong information about our reservation. after that was straightened out we had a great stay. the staff was lovely, our view was beautiful, the food was tasty. and the hotel was walking distance to the temples.

Lovely hotel near the temples in Kharjuraho

A warm welcome from experienced staff at the hotel entrance. Lovely room with a view of the temple complex. Staff very helpful with the details of our visit including arranging a professional tour guide, transportation to the airport and taking care of our laundry on this three week journey through India.

The LaLit is a beautiful hotel and the staff provided excellent customer service. I highly recommend this property to anyone traveling in the area.

Elegant and comfortable hotel near the temples

We were happy with the stay in this hotel, elegant and very well kept rooms, very good and clean bathrooms, the restaurant is excellent, the concierge could have been more helpful, walking distance to the temples.

A Lovely Place To Stay

The Lalit in Khajuraho is a fine hotel. The service was excellent; the staff very polite and pleasant. The temples are a short walking distance away and can be seen from the hotel rooms and pool area. The food at the hotel was fine, although the cost of wine and of water at the restaurant was the most expensive of all 5 star-hotels in India. This is a lovely property and, without a doubt, the best place to stay in Khajuraho. During our stay, there were few guests at the hotel, so it was very peaceful there. Given the hecticness of India, this was a welcome relief.

Fantastic Hotel

We were amazed with the staff who were down to earth and very friendly. The room was lovely, nice size and beautifully decorated as is the whole hotel. The attention to detail in the decor is very evident. The food in the restaurant was amazing. The most difficult part is deciding what to have from the menu. Yes it is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for!

The best in town

Simply the best in Khajuraho… the hotel itself is very nice, and the service is very good, even though the main manager was a bit lacking in social grace. Their internet was down when I needed to use it, and because it was urgent for me I asked what I could do. She just stared at me and answered "no option". No offering to check nearby restaurants of cafes to see if they had service, nothing. But, that aside it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay, and a welcome oasis to come back to after sightseeing all day. Their garden and pool is very nice. Their food is quite good also.

peaceful haven

immaculate if rather sterile low-rise building...but a haven of peace, cleanliness and space in an area that has little of either. Food was excellent. Most staff were excellent...warm, friendly and fun but not intrusive...but reception were arogant, unwelcoming and unhelpfull. Almost as though they know that the rate beling paid for the room was discounted and they looked down their noses. The noise in several rooms from exterior extractor fans was a blight (engineering staff conceede that nothing could be done with the motors on the roof over some rooms). Avoid such rooms.

Nice place, variable service

A nice place reasonably well equipped though sometimes unpolished in areas. The service in particular was variable. Everyone was trying to be helpful but often had limited understanding or took a while to get a point. Rooms and common areas, including the lovely grounds, were good. Restaurant poor - bland space, only adequate food, hit and miss service and very expensive for what was offered. So much more could be done with this hotel with some stronger management and improved staff training.

It was great. The hotel was relatively empty so we got pretty much all the attention of the staff...who were super nice to us. It is the nicest hotel in the area.

Hotel situado en un maravilloso jardín y de una edificación comodisima . Instalaciones cómodas y excelentemente cuidadas. Habitación cómoda , amplia y el único pero sería el estado del baño, correcto pero quizá necesitaría una pequeña renovación . A pesar de ello el hotel es totalmente recomendable y el personal es muy atento estando pendiente de tus necesidades

Hotel more 3* europe standard but clean

Hotel very close to the airport and to the temples…not possible to walk from the hotel as the gate is closed…despite what they say in the description. unfortunately big wedding took the space of the swimming pool for all day…no alternative…rooms are simple but clean, breakfast more Indian than continental, Overall, hotel can be modernised a bit, service is good and attentive,

The facilities of the hotel are fine but the staff seemed very incompetent. They did not reply to emails, gave wrong information regarding tour bookings and regarding activities at the hotel and canceled our spa booking. Part of the reception staff did not speak English. In addition, due to an event for other guests at the hotel, there was loud music until midnight. This hotel does not live up to the expectations and to the prize that they charge.
