Good not great.

Well situated in the centre of town. Lovely reception area and bar. Room was clean and modern. Used a chair as a bedside table with lamp supplied. Room a bit stuffy. Plumbing noises from other rooms were loud! No parking.

Great location for bars & restaurants. Studio was a good size and in good condition. Only downside, limited plug points, bed isn’t of high standard and the room could do with being repainted. Limited breakfast meal but quality of food is good.

A really lovely hotel decorated nicely and with all the amenities you need. Because it’s an old property you can hear a lot of creaking in the night.

The place was really nice, clean and very homey. Felt like home away from home. Location was amazing, right in the centre and an easy walk from everything we needed. Service was very good as well, overall enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

perfect stay

I had not realized how beautifully located The Gresham is to old town Leicester. The Gresham could use some refurbishing (hall carpets as an example) however, the ambiance was perfect for me. Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast each day was delicious with reasonable selections. My room was quite cozy and comfortable. I have other trips planned from the US to Leicester and I will always book The Gresham for my stay. Overall, it was perfect for my needs.

Style over substance

This wasn’t good. It’s a lovely old building renovated very cheaply. Photos look good but once you get there you’ll see past the makeover. Large room but: floor is a badly layed, low quality laminate. For a big room the bed is small (nothing king size here), the rug is small and underneath the bed so you don’t at any point stand on it. The kitchen area has a fridge, hob, kettle etc but not much in the way of plates, cutlery, pans etc so fairly useless. Bathroom was okay but the sink was partially blocked and the bar of soap could be mistaken for a paracetamol tablet (very small). The heating didn’t work in the room and the towel rail didn’t seem to have an on switch. The television didn’t seem to be connected to anything and wasn’t working with the internet. In summary; style over substance. Breakfast was okay but when I arrived at the dining area the waitress looked genuinely shocked to see me and asked me what I wanted. “Breakfast?” I replied. When I sat down it was apparent that half the guests were in pyjamas and the other half looked like they had just got back after a night out. It then dawned on me that this hotel gets most trade from every young crowd which might explain the waitresses shock at seeing me.

After a bad start with a room which had a bad smell the manager Mark (Hills) moved us into a nice airy apartment. Mark was very apologetic & rectified the situation.

This property provided a lovely stay for myself and a friend. The welcome was lovely and we were met with a smile and hello every time we came in/out. The rooms were clean, and well maintained with everything you might need. Despite the freezing temps outside the room was warm and cozy and not too noisy either. There are a number of parking options nearby, but watch the costs...it cost us £53 each for 2 days despite it stating there was a reduced overnight fee which didn't get applied! We would definitely stay at The Gresham again if coming back to Leicester.

We have stayed here before and clearly liked it enough to return. Liked it even better this time. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

Adequate but cold room

The room was clean and adequate however heating was terrible. It was not possible to heat the room although the room thermostat seemed like working it was set to 22 degrees. But the room was about 17-18 degrees all night- it didn’t get heated at all. Therefore I ended up sleeping with my jumper on.

Lovely hotel

Cheak in was fast but not rushed with friendly staff, great location, with a tesco right around the cornwr as well as many options for food located nearby, the room was spacious, the only downside for was although there was tea and coffee in the room there was no milk or a small fridge to be able to put milk in if you was to go and buy some, regardless of the one small downside it was overall a great stay

Very nice apart-hotel. Staff were so lovely and welcoming. Will definitely be back when next in Leicester.

Really noisy as close a nightclub. Breakfast the waiter was asking if you wanted salt and pepper as they didn't have enough to go round. Our salt came in a small bowl. Our cooked breakfast was of good quality and staff friendly. Bed comfortable. One thing i didn't appreciate was the online check-in process, i gave up and went old school. My wife is French and it wouldn't let me check in without her passport details. You don't need it and I found asking for it invasive.

The staff were courteous and extremely helpful. They didn’t hesitate in offering assistance to me and my mother as we were hustling to leave the property.

Lovely, beautiful place, very clean and not used and abused, like most of the places in the area, very fresh looking and welcoming. Unfortunately we had to move rooms as we booked a delux apartment but the first room was although lovely and tidy, didn't live up to the "apartment" vibe we booked based on the website, it was more room than apartment. The staff where great and very attentive and sorted it with no issue. Our only negative as such was the fire alarm going off at 2am for some reason, at first we thought the hotel was on fire, this was never explained to us at checkout, what was the issue? Where was our apology for the panic endusing 2.am shrill? We had to enquire rather than have an upfront "our apologies if the alarm woke you up last night, bla bla bla..."and to top that off we had the parting gesture of "at least you know the fire alarms work" ...hmmmm that we do!

Bed was flimsy, light, uncomfortable and squeaky. I do not recommend staying here.

Great hotel

Regular visitor as its well located in city centre and a modern clean place to stay. Would return.

This property is pretty good for the area. Seems to be in a bit of a party street but I should have done my own research before booking. Some of the furniture and accessories should be updated - particularly the rugs, bed and bedside table. Washroom was nice but only a rain shower head. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was very happy with the service. I would have given 5 stars had the rugs looked to be a bit less worn out.

The reason I selected was cleanliness was the smells around the hotel. The reception area didn't smell pleasant, I then used the lift which also smelt really bad. I then entered my room and was hit with an overwhelming odour.

Good hotel

Decent enough hotel, the bed was a bit squeaky like a camp bed, but comfy enough - the biggest criticism was the heat in the room (I couldn't get the air con to cool, it was more of a fan) and the fridge in the kitchen area was really loud, clicking on and off all night. That said, I would stay here again, the service was ace, breakfast was great and it has a great vibe and great location.

This hotel is in walking distance of downtown attractions, shopping, and dining. The room was on the small side and had no windows but did have a skylight. Couldn’t figure out how to close it to keep the room dark and wished reception had told me about this unusual feature ahead of time.

I will start off by saying I booked this because of location. I didn’t realize there would be so many homeless and how noisy it would be. Now with the property itself. Very minimalistic is how I would describe our room. No wardrobe just a rack with five hangers. We went and bought additional. In the shower no place to put shampoos and soap. We again brought a rack to hang in shower. No place to hang towels if more than one person staying. Also Leicestershire was in the high 80s and they had the air conditioner on a sensor which means if no movement it’s turned off. Several times during the night we had to turn it on. In addition water pressure problems with shower. Sewer smell from sink. And to top it off a hairbrush under sofa from previous guests which means not a thorough cleaning of our room prior to our arrival. Communication with staff except for one gentleman who was very helpful the staff didn’t seem to want to be there. All in all not a very pleasant time considering we booked for seven nights.

Lovely apartment/hotel in the heart of the city

Stunning hotel, just a bit of a maze.

The hotel itself is stunning, but the signage around the place is a bit confusing. It's so easy to go down the wrong corridor. Also if you require level access then speak to the team as there are loads of stairs in the corridors. The staff were lovely, the building is beautiful, and it's in a great location.

Quite enjoyed our stay

Room was clean, quiet. Bed comfortable No tea bags or milk supplied. No view. In spite of this I will stay again as it is handy for me.

I was attending an event in the city centre so the Gresham Aparthotel was ideally located. Being in the annex it was a bit of a labyrinth finding my way to the room, but I did manage to get back to it after my night out. Although there was still noise in the streets when I got back, I heard nothing in my room, which was clean and well-equipped. I was there for little over 12 hours but would definitely recommend this place for a short break in the city. Although there's no parking, being there from late afternoon Saturday until Sunday morning, I even managed to find free on-street parking nearby, but I imagine that is pretty rare.

Stay at The Gresham Aparthotel

We stayed at The Gresham when dropping my daughter back at DMU after Easter. Very central location and close to the University. Friendly, welcoming staff. Lovely upscale vibe to the hotel and the bar downstairs. Fabulous large airy room and all spotlessly clean. Good value for money. Will definitely stay again.

Lovely welcome, big comfortable warm room in a fine old building. No fridge, which seemed odd. There was a kitchen area with microwave after all. But that was the only (small) issue. We enjoyed our two nights there very much. The cooked breakfast was really good and we liked the bar on the ground floor. It was the weekend and the bar and restaurant were busy and noisy but soundproofing was good and our room above was quiet. We slept very well. Every member of staff with whom we interacted was helpful and friendly, even first thing in the morning at breakfast or at the apparent end of a long shift. Recommended!

Two night work trip

The room.was very well appointed and bed comfortable. I ate in the associated restaurant the the food was great both nights. Parking just around the corner was just £6 overnight each time which was a pleasant surprise.

Very nice conversion from an old department store to this trendy aparthotel. I should have realized that, being in the centre of town, it wouldn’t have parking, so budget extra for that. Also being in the centre of town it can be a bit rowdy outside, which might be a problem if you’re a light sleeper. The beds are 2 songs (twins) put together with a sheet on top, which was disappointing. Otherwise, a nice place to stay.

Average place….

No need for an alarm clock, if not the noise from other people having showers, the pigeons cooing wake you up. I was in the annexe, several floor areas are uneven, not obvious to the eye, I tripped a few times. Not sure if I would stay here again.

Great location. Very clean modern apartment. Friendly check in staff. Lovely bar below. No windows in our apartment which was strange. Doors close quite loudly so a bit noisy when other people are leaving their rooms. Overall very good for visiting city centre. The nearby car park on Newarke Street is expensive- £48 for two days.

This was a spacious and comfortable apartment within an aparthotel. The kitchen area comprised of two hobs and a microwave, as well as a fridge with a small freezer compartment. No chopping board or sharp knives, which wasn't helpful, but everything else was there. I found the wifi too slow. My old phone wouldn't even't connect to it, but my up to date laptop did. I also couldn't work out how to keep the towel rail warm or the heating sufficiently high during the cold snap that I was visiting. But the room was lovely and spacious, well decorated and elegant, with lovely big windows and a quiet location. Housekeeping only comes once every 5 days - didn't bother me, but it might be off-putting for those expecting someone to give them the hotel experience. I had dinner at the Black Iron Social on the ground floor on my last night and wish I had gone before - the food was outstanding and the staff were lovely. The aparthotel will give you details of car parks nearby when you book but of note is the fact that the Newarke Road car park closes at 6pm on a Sunday, If you arrive before that, you'll be fine. Overnight parking from 5pm to 6am is only £2.00, but if leaving at 8.30ish, you'll be charged about £6.00 for overnight parking. Not bad for the centre of Leicester, and less than 3 minutes walk to the Gresham. I'll come back, but will bring a hot water bottle if it's winter - I feel the cold though!

Centrally located in Leicester near nice restaurants and the local stores. Convenient. Well kept hotel which was clean. One material issue is the noise level as there are several bars on/around the hotel and we were kept up into the wee hours (noisy up through 2 a.m.) by people hanging around after the pubs closed.

Comfortable stay

We stayed in an annex room and although there were lots of steps to climb, the room was spacious and everything was comfortable. The kitchen area was a great addition. The bathroom was modern and clean. Some of the sealant needed a good scrub. The bed was comfortable with very soft sheets and duvet. We heard a little outside noise, but as a light sleeper, I actually slept well. Breakfast was good value. We will definitely stay again.

Bring your thermals

We booked a Deluxe Studio. I am not sure if the room was as stark as it appeared or it that was just because it was unbearably cold. The power for the room, including the heating is controlled by your entry key. Once switched on, it switched off after about an hour. It was 8°C outside and this big room needed a lot of heating to make it bearable. The room was cold when we checked in, it was cold when we came back from dinner, it was cold in the morning when we woke up. Generally an unpleasant experience.

Really very nice, the room was spotlessly clean and roomy, located in the city centre but also within easy walking distance of the King Power stadium. Would definitely stay again.

Almost perfect

Fantastic location right in the heart of the city. The room/apartment itself was beautifully furnished with all mod cons. Easy, friendly and quick check in was at the reception in the lovely wine bar underneath. The only thing was, there is no parking, however we parked up in an NCP around a 10 minute walk away. Would definitely use again.

Staff were friendly and welcoming, room was nice and comfy. Only disappointment was the the amount of dust in the room, I wrote my name on the bedside table it was that thick. Also would have been nice if the windows opened.

Great hotel - definitely recommend!

Such a great hotel. The team are friendly and attentive. I have stayed on several occasions and love the quirky rooms. Not keen on the ones without windows, and I prefer a wall shower as opposed to rain shower but other than that it’s a great stay.

Gorgeous Gresham Hotel

Amazing room, great facilities, staff really helpful over all a gorgeous room and hotel.

Nice modern hotel and was pleased with the room in general, however the most important part of the room was poor - the bed. The bed was the smallest double I have ever slept in, the mattress was too soft so felt like you would fall out of this small bed and it the frame constantly creaked. The strangest thing was there was plenty of space for a larger bed

Perfect weekend accommodation in a 10 minute walk from the rail station. Decent lounge bar in reception. Close to the centre of Leicester, 5 mins walk from the cathedral and Richard III museum.

Stayed here twice. love this place, apartments are always clean, showers and bathrooms are immaculate and water is always hot. Beds are comfy, so quiet at night which is great as normally here for work. Reception is always easy to check into, always with a smile

Good Review

Nicely decorated room, very clean and a super powerful shower, which was lush. The air conditioner took a while to cool the room down though and I believe only one of the fans were working. I also didn't get much sleep as it was very noisy either downstairs or outside, wasn't sure, but that's a given as we did stay on a Saturday night. Would definitely recommend and we would stay again :)

2nd time visiting and the staff at Greasham are so polite and very helpful ! The room was beautiful and super clean! We will be back!

Very nice stay with spacious studios just be vary of when walking down some corridors as the floor is sometimes uneven and can lead to a tripping hazard. Apart from that staff was nice and efficient at their jobs. Would recommend to a friend
