Nice cottage for 2 couples

My brothers and I spent the weekend at the Cottages celebrating our birthdays. It was peaceful and the scenery was stunning. The weather was quite warm so we went for a quick swim in the lake. The beds were very comfortable and we all had great sleeps, the tree frogs sang all night. Very close to Ganges and long harbour. We would come again.

This was a beautiful property. Check-in was easy. The unit was clean with good amenities. Beautiful lake front view and access to the dock. Comfortable beds. very polite and helpful communication but would like communication to be consistently quicker (sometimes it took a full day for a request to change check in or check out or ask for items).

This was a wonderful get-away. Our cabin was amazing… spacious, clean, well equipped. Very quiet aside from the frogs. lol

At this price point, everything exceeds our expectations.

Great if it wasnt for ants and check in

I could have loved it if it wasnt for a couple things. Check in was a hassle. We did not get an email prior with the door access code. I had to call the day above, and it took a while for them to respond. I sent a private message through hotels, and did not get anything. Texted and called hours prior to check in and no answer. No one was in the office even during office hours. Eventually someone responded, but it took too long. Lastly, we loved the place and the location. The canoing and paddle boarding was definitely a plus, but the place was ant infested. It didnt get too much in the way of our experience, since i had low pest expectations for cabins, but for people who hate bugs, there were atleast 50 surround the bed, and a couple ants on the bed. I pulled down the blinds and 12 dropped to the floor.

Outdated televisions.

Great location. Beautiful 2 bedroom cottage. Spacious, clean and well equipped. Gorgeous lake and stunning views. Did not like the late check in time, waiting around until dinner time to check in isn’t good value to the customer. Lake equipment was nice however there were limited oars so you couldn’t use them all. BBQ could use some cleaning.

Overall, really loved the cottages, it was quiet, peaceful, and convenient location, just a few minutes from the Grange. Units are very nicely laid out. Only unpleasant thing about my stay was that on 1st night, there was no water pressure in the showers. It was fixed on 2nd night but nevertheless, a bit of inconvenience.

Better than expected. Clean and safe. Wonderful stay.

It was a great place to stay, quiet and beautiful. The place we stayed in, lacked some essential items, like paper towels and their was no remote for the fireplace. Also a bigger coffee maker would of been awesome.

The property was fantastic and really enjoyed the stay. The only issue was it would be nice to be able to leave at 11am as a check out.

The property was modern with great views. Water did not work for the tub/shower in one bathroom. Was not fixed which was a little disappointing. Was told there would possibly be a discount applied but it did not show up in the final billing. Regardless I would still stay there again because everything else was really great.

It was a beautiful little get away with no hassle. It was definitely quality for the cost. We have already booked our next stay.

The place was very nice and private. The place was really clean except for the spare blankets and sheets.They were missed by the staff from the last stay I assume and were quite dirty. They had a washer/dryer so had to do a load upon arrival but it's the off-season so most likely overworked cleaners. Anyways the place was clean and lovely. Would definitely go back!

The cottage setting is lovely. The duplex was comfortable, clean and had plenty of room. An area of great concern is the walkway from the car park to our duplex #18. There is no light along the pathway and it is pitch dark by 5:00 when you check in. There is no actual walkway either so one has to stagger their way down an uneven, slippery decline past low hanging tree branches to locate the porch steps. One night I slipped and fell. Another issue is all the work required of you as a paying guest. We had to strip our own beds, do all the dishes without a dishwasher (leaving us to wonder how clean they were when we arrived), collect all our own garbage and recycling and dump AND SORT IT on our way out. There are plenty of other lovely places we could rent where we would not be required to do the work of the housekeeping staff.

Very relaxing weekend getaway. We were in a detached cabin and it had everything we needed and the accommodations exceeded our expectations. Very quiet location and nice view of the lake.

We went in November. The place was easy to find and access to the cottage was close to unloading the car. Loved the separation of the two bedrooms and even on a cloudy day there is enough windows to lighten up the cottage. Loved the balcony when the sunshine came out one morning. Will definitely be returning on our next visit to Salt Spring. Thanks

Really nice property and perfect for 4 people in a cottage. Very clean and comfy. We loved the convenience of parking in front of the cottage. Will stay there again!

This is a fantastic place to visit if you are looking for peace and quiet! The cottage was lovely and had all the amenities needed for a very comfortable stay. The cottage is nestled in amongst the trees with a great view of the lake. The property is incredibly quiet!

We stayed in the Duplex. Cottage was very roomy. Unfortunately no AC so it was quite warm. Couldn't imagine it in the summer heat. Close to everything. Could have been cleaner. Quite dusty. Overall not bad. Very quiet.

Great place to getaway

Loved our stay here, gorgeous property and peaceful.

Local soaps smelled delicious. Stocked kitchen and beds that were so comfy! We had such a wonderful time playing in the lake by day and listening to the frogs sing us to sleep. Wonderful place to stay!

Good place to visit and stay with family. They do need to replace the kitchen utensils. Or bring your own. 2ns time we stayed here. First time was newer and it was amazing. (4 years ago) This time is good but furnishings are a bit used

We enjoyed our stay there, we loved everything about this property.

The Cottages are fabulous for a getaway. The two bedrooms are completely separated with one on the uppermost floor and the other in the basement. Each bedroom has a bathroom plus there is a powder room on the middle floor. The only issue is a lack of hand towels. For a four day visit you get 1 hand towel and 2 bath towels per full bedroom. There is no housekeeping at all during your stay, which is fine. Quiet location with easy access to Ganges and roads around Salt Spring Island.

We've been to this property many times however there were a few snags with this trip. We asked if a playpen was available via email and phone call. We were told we would be called the day before to be informed if we could have one - they never communicated with us. Our cottage (43) also had terrible water pressure. There was zero water coming out of the top floor bathrooms sink, and the bath trickled water - so it took 45 minutes to fill it if you wanted to use it. I informed management via email and they responded, but had no resolution for our stay. Definitely put a damper on the holiday as the spa like bath is always a highlight.

The only thing missing was a charger for the EV. Would have been nice to top up after a long day in the road to your the island and get back home

The cottage is spacious and with nice decor. A good supply of cooking utensils, dishes and cutlery. A baking dish is not available though.

Peaceful area, nice walking trail. Kitchen was well equipped and new management are excellent communicators and happy to help. Some of the living room furniture is getting a bit worn and some paint touch ups required, but not to the point it was shabby. The tub is FABULOUS!

Excellent,clean place.family oriented.fully equipped with kitchen ,washrooms,even books . Has TV sets in each room. Very near from downtown and supermarkets. Beautiful lake view. Highly recommended for a family holiday

Love the cottage layout. So cozy and quiet. Perfect for a weekend getaway. A little disappointed in the cleanliness this time with stained/dirty sheets on one bed and a dirty shower (glass and shower head). Missed the Saltspring Coffee welcome gift so went out and bought our own! Love this resort and will be back… just hope it’s cleaner next time.

Great Stay!

We had a wonderful stay. Came down over the Christmas season to visit family. The cottage was perfect.

We had an amazing time! Too bad it rained the whole time, but that’s winter for you!

fantastic high end finishings in the cottage, short walk to the lake for paddle boarding/canoeing. what more can you ask for!

Cottage could use a deep cleaning but overall was in good condition and had very nice finishes. Well worth the expense and was convenient for shopping and dining in town.

We stayed for 4 nights, pretty view. I think that there should have been towel service provided as well as a refill on coffee

The lake and location are great!

Enjoyed our stay! Swimming and SUP-ing in the lake during very warm weather -- great! Full kitchen dining area great for making meals. The resort area was pretty quiet and walkable, although a longish walk in our case to the lake dock and BBQ area. Had fun playing outdoor Jenga. Appreciated the fan during the hot weather, as upstairs bedrooms were toasty! Digital front door lock convenient. A short drive to Ganges and market, shopping, etc.

Easy check in and check out. Beautiful, clean home. Great views of the lake. Canoes, paddleboards available for use. Lake temperature great for swimming. 2 bathrooms but only one had a shower. Other had a tub only and due to water restrictions in the summer, could not have a bath. So 4 people had to take turns using the shower. No big deal.

Oven was not cleaned. Other than that, the place was perfect. We will be back

Excellent accommodation, everything you need is there! Clean, well kept, and up to date furnishings. Loved sitting out on the deck in the mornings and watching the large collection of dvds in the evening. Cottages close to town and the ferry. So much to do on Salt Spring Island. Don’t miss the fairy doors on Mt Erskine or the Salt Spring cheese farm.

Quiet, peaceful and comfortable!

Everything you might need right next to a clean lake with a dock and water toys. Dog friendly and lovely adirondack chairs on two decks. Decorating is lovely. Two bedrooms with full bathrooms on separate floors, plus one powder room on the main floor with kitchen, all necessary dishes, pots and pans, etc. TV in one bedroom and main floor where there are two sofas and a library with excellant variety of books and a few games. The lake is great for swimming and there are canoes, SUP's, kayaks plus a variety of PFD's. The location is close to Ganges and the customer service is amazing. Thanks to the employees for quick responses.

This was a great little getaway - central to everywhere on the island, and a really quick drive into "downtown" Ganges. The "Lakeside" cabin was close to the dock - we were unaware that there wasn't really any shore - the only entry to to the lake is the dock into the water. We had our 15 month old and dog thinking we could spend time on the lake beach - something to think about if you have little ones. The cabin itself was wonderful! 1 bedroom up in the loft, and one on the lower floor, each with it's own bathroom, and a powder room on the main floor. It worked for us, but for sound sensitive people or larger families, there aren't any doors to the bedrooms, so earplugs would be good.

Overall is okay. But, tower is too old and not comfy, dusty underneath the bed(hairs and hair balls), no dishwasher Leaking sink, fixed the next day Staff on site is good and responsive

Had a wonderful long weekend here. Cabin was spacious, beds were comfortable, and the kitchen has what you need to stay in for meals (though you need to bring anything other than salt and pepper). Will definitely be back!

It was quiet and clean. The staff were very nice as well. Grounds were well maintained and loved exploring Sal Spring Island.

Very nice rustic feel, pretty little like, far enough from town to feel rural, close enough to pick up groceries or go out for lunch easily.

Lovely place, hope to come back

Gorgeous location and the self-check in was perfect for us. We did need to request extra blankets as the duvet is past it's prime. Salt for the entrance would have been nice, we had 2 people slip and fall in the icy ramp. Would stay here again!

Very Quiet and relaxing spot the unit was updated just had a few issues.I found a dirty Fry pan and spattula in the oven,lots of dust between lounge chair and side table and the Fireplace didn't work,also a hanging decorative piece was missing on wall(hooks still there)and i saw it underneath the book cabinet case and also the upway stair case had a missing light cover makes me wonder how much a clean and inspection they did before we arrived. But overall a very nice unit.

Great location Excellent accommodations comfortable living space with cozy beds . Only complaint no wine glasses !!! But we survived 😊

It's beautiful! Two rooms with their own bathroom with tubs and one bathroom on the main floor (kitchen and living room) with our private deck and outside fire place FYI bring your own propane will definitely be returning

Wonderful deck for morning coffee or evening drinks. A terrific place for a quiet family get away.

Lovely location, accommodation

The property and accommodation is lovely. The lake is great for swimming, canoeing, etc. On the downside, the dock can get a bit crowded. The check-in time (5 p.m.) and check-out time (10 a.m.) are a bit unreasonable, especially when guests are requested to strip the beds and take out garbage and sort the recycling.

The lake view cottage that we stayed in does not have a view of the lake. We were very disappointed with the misrepresentation on the website. Management knew the problem and made it clear they would not be making any charges.

we were 2 friends travelling who like to have our own space, so the size of the cottages, each room with it's own bath was excellent and a nice sized deck. The lake is lovely and serene, and the location of the property was close to all we wanted to do. we did find it odd there are no hooks, hangers or closets, especially at the main door.

Great quiet place to stay. Very peaceful to sit out on the deck and drink coffee in the morning. The only issue we had with this place was the comically small coffee maker. Makes two small cups at most. For the size of the place I would expect a bit better.

Easy quick vacation, no time spent on check in our checkout, you get a door code as a text before you arrive and just leave on your last day and drop your garbage off on the way out. Cottage was cozy but spacious and clean perfect for 4 guests.

Amazing place for a getaway. My only recommendation is to extend the check in and check out times so we can get it a bit earlier and stay later.

Nice cabin with all you need

Nice cabin to stay for the weekend. Great space and convenient area. Easy check in with a code. Little things that were not great. Shower had black mold in a few spots and the heating system was very loud. Other than that i would recommend.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, the unit was decently clean, and we were extremely impressed by the quality/size and amenities within the unit and property - it was a really positive experience, and I would definitely recommend to others, and will be back in future.

Cottage on Saltspring January 2022

The cottage was very cold when we arrived but we cranked up the heating and managed to get the fireplace to work, after a phone call and a few minutes trying to figure out the switch (the remote doesn't work). We were disappointed that there is no EV charger on the site, but were able to park alongside the cottage and attach the car to the domestic supply so it charged overnight. The shower faucets are very stiff, and not easy to figure out, but we managed. Don't like Shaw TV's service, but at least there were plenty of channels. There were some socks and underwear in one of bedroom chest of drawers. The sofas had not been cleaned under the cushions, so lots of old crumbs! Also, the chaise-longue was damp and had a water stain on it. The cushion was damp too.

Winter getaway

Very cute places, we went while there was snow and my only complaint about that is there could have been better salting done, we slipped a few times in our walkway. The cabins were surface clean but could use a deep clean including walls that had marks and drip stains all over them. Overall the cabins were comfortable and a fun getaway for our family

Very difficult to locate property in the dark. Signage hard to read and no illumination on unit numbers to read in the dark. Decent bedrooms/washrooms. Kitchen area, sink, table beat up and frying pan worn out.

I love having the view of the lake from our Lakeview 2 bedroom cabin. The cabin is exactly like the photos on the website. The cabin is nice but having hooks at the main entrance for hanging wet clothes and more cooking necessities would be nice. According to the check in information, salt and pepper should be provided but they were no where to be found. The kitchen has very basic cooking accessories. It would be nice if a baking tray is included. I would stay there again but I would bring my own baking trays.

Cottage furniture is dated. Ours had dirty carpets and large stain on couch. Frying pans surfaces scratched off and baking pan rusty. Cottages are owned and in rental pool, but not sure how owners are alerted when upgrades are needed. Served our purpose though, and we enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I had a short getaway at the Cottages and really enjoyed our stay. We found the accommodations very spacious and relaxing, just minutes away from Ganges and will be looking forward to booking future stays at the Cottages along with other members of our family.

These cottages are spacious, comfy, private, and on a beautiful little lake. We have come twice now, both times in the fall. The foliage is beautiful. The beds are big and comfy, the kitchen has everything you need and it’s only about 5 mins from town. Check in and out is fast and easy. And there are cute bunnies all over the property! The furnishings are a bit warn and older but everything is clean. The bathrooms are nice and big too. Would definitely recommend, I will be back here for sure!

The cottages are more modern inside than the exterior photos which was a pleasant surprise. There is limited cookware and it was a shame to see a request not to use the amazing looking bathtub. Also, a few details like loose kitchen faucets, no extra cleaning materials, no non-stick fry pan, burnt out lightbulbs, no real mirror in en suite bathroom and no mirror in bedroom, dining chairs need new feet. And was not pleased to be advised of a later check in after booking.

Very relaxing and peaceful. An extremely easy check-in. Would recommend the property.

It is a great setting however some of the amenities I was expecting were missing - a toaster, hairdryer and a wardrobe to hang my clothes. Guests are required to wash their dishes before they leave which means that I was eating off dishes washed by a previous guest. For the money, I would have expected a cleaning crew to have at least washed the dishes
