Room was comfy and comfortable
Was comfy staying there
Pretty good for price
Included breakfast not very good
The sink was to far back in cupboard for short people. A stool was needed to reach cupboard. Otherwise the price was reasonable after using Expedia....The chain rates were not competitive.
Carpet needs vacuuming. Room phone has never been washed. Kitchen drawer is dirty a d contents dishes too
Newly paved parking. Very quiet easy to get to
We’re just tired of properties posing as being “pet friendly” with no mention of amount of charges when booking and arriving to be told it will be an additional $20per dog — we have 2 smaller non shedding personable dogs. This isn’t friendly - it’s getting you there and then demanding an exorbitant amount for a small room with no sign left that we even had dogs there! At least the manager agreed to discount $10 — or we would have left.
At east end of town very accessible to Trans Canada highway. Fast food restaurants and some shopping short drive. Large room. Included breakfast was very poor, nice selection but not much food provided unless you eatblike a bird. EXAMPLE two muffins cut in half and wrapped up, no yogart, or milk to drink. Hmmm.
Rooms were ok, staff was good but our first room had a bad smell.
It was good would definitely stay again
For what we needed it for, it was great. We just needed a quick stop for a night of rest on a road trip. The room and property were clean. Late check in was quick and easy and so was check out. Our dog was also very happy to be there! It is close to the highway so it can be loud - but we were so tired we didn't notice. And this isn't anything the hotel can fix. 5/5 experience!
Good bang for your buck.
like someone else said "you get what you pay for". It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was adequate and would stay again.
Pretty decent place. Clean but older rooms. Really friendly staff. Parking lot is a pretty tight if you're hauling a trailer.
breakfast was good location not so good
Very friendly reception; quiet room … small- ish but adequate. Breakfast more than you needed!!
Easy check in
Older building, rooms very dated. Microwave didn’t work.
Honestly, you pay for what you get. If that’s the price you want to pay, it’s not bad…
Check in was easy with a friendly front desk staff member. But that was it. We stayed for 2 nights. Upon entering the room, I turned on the window ac unit and a blast of moldy smelling cold air filled the room. The room furniture was from the 60’s and nothing seemed clean (dirty window drapes and drawers). Even though 2 people were booked in the room there was only enough towels for 1 person for a 1 night stay. There was an old pop can spill outside our door and wasps were there constantly. The outdoor garbage cans were overflowing for our first 20 hours there. The hotel charged $20/night for dogs yet there was not a single area of grass for my dog to use. I had to exit the property and cross a busy road to then stand next to the highway! My dog was terrified of the highway traffic and going to the bathroom was not an easy or enjoyable process for my dog. But the most disappointing thing about this property was the pool. It literally only had 2 lounge chairs!!! And a few hard backed chairs along with random broken ones. The whole reason I booked there was for some relaxing time at the pool lounging. Sitting upright in a hard chair with the freeway traffic noise was horrible! Do not believe the nice poolside photos! And breakfast consisted of hard boiled eggs that were already peeled (gross), no meat, lots of bread, muffins and waffles. We travel to Kamloops often but will definitely never stay at this property again.
Thank you for great service and good location
Thank you for great service and good location
Bed is comfortable
I have stayed at many Super 8 hotels but this is the first one which has left me sorely disappointed. The floors and bathtub were disgusting. I had my two young daughters (5yrs & 7yrs) with me, they were barefoot in the room and within an hour their feet were black. We had been traveling from Calgary so they had clean feet before arriving. The bathtub looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I will never stay or recommend this hotel.
THEY DID NOT CHANGE AND MAKE OUR BEDS ON DAY 2
Friendly people. Great coffee and waffles with eggs, fruit, bagels, toast, cereal, muffins and juice. Met people from overseas. Excellent swimming pool.
It's a budget property, and was the least expensive we could find (still not cheap), so set your expectations appropriately. The room appeared clean and the bed was comfortable, but the room had an unpleasant smell. I don't think I'd stay again unless I was in a pinch.
Property was easy to get to when you get into town, staff were friendly and helpful. All in all not a bad hotel
Furnishings, carpets and bathrooms need a refresh. Bed was new and comfy.
Everything here very was dated. It may have been decently cleaned but the decor was so dark was hard to tell. I would say the frequently used areas were cleaned okay but avoid the kitchenette, That hadn't seen a rag in ages. Mostly it just felt kinda icky. The pool was not near as nice as the one in the pictures. For the price I am sure you can find a much better hotel. Not recommended
The pool was a bonus. Was quite upsetting that the property was not willing to help a mother and 2 kids with a few more nights. Add payne on the last with nowhere to go
The bed was fantastic however the room we had this time was not that clean, it looked like the floor had just been brushed over and not cleaned properly
Overall OK! Front desk was friendly and check in was smooth. The condition of the hotel was totally outdated, including furnitures and appliances. The room was musty upon entering, had to leave the door open for awhile. We stayed on the 2nd floor where some area of the floor squeaks when walking. Quite alot of people smoking outside. We found out that the aircon was not working when we are about to sleep, luckily it was quite cool during the night. Nothing to expect for breakfast. The room is pricey for the experience.
Good location, friendly staff enjoy our stay we will be back
Very good value
Had a great stay and got well rested
The front desk gentleman was very accomodating. Even though this property is not new, it is very well maintained and exceptionally clean.
Staff were great and hotel is a good value. Love the pool and free breakfast
ok for a stop over
The room was clean, breakfast was good. Bring earplugs since it was right off the highway. I would stay there again.
Was fine for 1 night stop over in Kamloops. King sized bed was very comfortable. Motel was dated but clean enough.
Workmanship
The bathtub needed new white caulking between the tub and the wall tile. Done by somebody that knows
Meh
There were not enough towels for everyone to have a shower after camping for weeks and coming out of the bush, called for towels, came hours later. Room was dated and Their parking lot is awkward at best. Pool was good for the kids. Had problems with the tv
Property is as advertised
Heavily used, all the furniture is heavily used , bedding was gross, I slept in my trailer rather than the hotel bed in fear of bed bugs. The furniture is old and looks second hand.
Dirty wares, cutleries, pans. Food residue all over, the cupboard has an instruction to clean the items before using. I assume with a used dirty sponge since it’s the only thing provided, no dishwashing liquid. No lotion no hairdryer. AC blows right at you while sleeping so either turn it off or stay covered the whole time. Old small tv, very tiny bathroom, combined vanity/kitchenette area is very congested. For ~400$ for 2 nights, the quality of the accommodation is nowhere near that price range.
Great service when we arrived later in the evening.
I liked the little kitchenette.
Area….no services
AC is so noisy and carpet is dirty
Very clean & quiet...even the a/c was quiet! Great location, easy to park the U-haul with my truck on a tow dolly. Will stay there again?
Was dirty and outdated. Ridiculous prices too
We got in late and left early, so didn't have a chance to experience much
Clean and quiet
Keep up the great work ethics.
They show bed large but bed is so small . No clean up and ready anything
Amazing staff!
The hotel was good in terms of cleanliness but the room’s AC was not working good. We kept it on for one hour but it room was still not cool.
The carpet needs vacuuming and needing a professional cleaner
The motel was a bit run down. Pool was a lot smaller than what was shown in picture.
The staff was awesome. Our room wasnt ready yet and they still allowed us to come use the pool early. Asked us several times in passing if everything was good and if there was anything we needed.
THIS IS NOT A REAL SUPER8 HOTEL CHAIN
Worst hotel I'v stayed in. THIS IS NOT A SUPER8 HOTEL CHAIN IT IS A OWNER OPERATED PROPERTY - CHOOSE WISELY - The lock housing was exposed meaning it wasn't difficult to break into our room. - No safety deposit boxes in rooms. - Hot water constantly running out. - No ventilation in the bathroom (No window or extractor fan) leaving the bathroom misty after taking a shower and leaving it smelly after using the loo. - Virtually no cooking utensils, making a basic task such as boiling an egg extremely difficult. No sponge to clean any dishes. - Beds were extremely uncomfortable, and may as well of slept on their sun loungers. - Pillows were solid hurting your neck when you slept. The room was dust central, dust had settled everywhere and even after we wiped it off with some baby wipes it would re-settle. Under the bed was filthy with dirt and dust looked like it had been forgotten about by the cleaner. - Bed sheets were filled with dust "Well, the cleaner has finished Who's going to do it?" The fridge was dirty and horrible and the bottom of it was rusty. - Staff funny when you leave the hotel to eat or drink out. A little two-faced.
The shower was so low I had to duck to wash my hair (I am 5’4” tall) and the bathroom itself was extremely small with only a 2’x1’ floor space to stand. No sink in bathroom. Only the kitchenette sink for washing and brushing teeth. Although clean it was very outdated and needed an updated bathroom for sure.
was awesome staying there
Bedroom was good, bathroom very nice, pool area is very nice too
No coffie in the breakfast room. There was decalf
A little dated
No comment at this time
Sub 8 rather than super 8
The bed was adequate and comfortable, however, the microwave did not have the correct sized spinner plate in it so it made lots of noise and likely negatively affected the heating performance in the oven. The A/C unit worked but was incredibly dirty and dusty. The carpet and chair were also very dusty and dirty and needed thorough vacuuming. Also the bedding and pillows were quite sparse and not very inviting. We paid over $120/night to stay here and I think we overpaid to stay in a dirty room.
Quiet with lovely showers with great water pressure.
Excellent deal for price. Next to highway so expect some noise. I fell asleep so noise not an issue especially knowing other motels were twice the price. Room was clean. Comfy bed. Renovated bathroom and newer carpet. Staff good. Safe.
Good budget property. Clean and comfortable
If you are a light sleeper/need a really good nights rest this is not the spot to stop. It is conveniently close to the highway HOWEVER it is so close that you can feel the cars/trains rumbling by. I also found that the upkeep of my room needed a bit of TLC - my main door was so worn that the seal at the bottom of the door was no longer matching up to the frame.
Door locck was broken, only bread and butter inbthe name of breakfast and coffee was out
Was clean
No complaints
The hotel overall is atleast clean. AC in the room was sub par, the bed was uncomfortable, the fan in the washroom was extremely noisy, and the tub was " soft" pn the bottom
Incredibly noisy being right on top of the trans Canada highway and the railway. Our door wouldn’t shut without slamming it with force. Nothing close enough to walk and eat
Never Again...sorry
Will not stay there again, kitchenette didn't even have a single dish cloth or tea towel, there was literally only a half roll of toilet paper and someone elses hair on the wall in the shower, there was a guy using a leaf blower blowing dust all over the parking lot which blew in our faces while we stood there, the pool was empty the whole time, there is no RV parking, just getting our F350 pick up around the building was super tight, we had to leave our enclosed trailer elsewhere. The highway noise was expected so not an issue, however the guest next door smoked weed which came in our room even with the door closed. The only good parts were the comfy beds, and Harold's restaurant up the road.
Victoria Day weekend
We had a great stay. Amazing customer service and care with all the guests. The breakfast was good too. Unfortunately the pool was closed, but will be opening soon! I look forward to another visit.
Property advertised a pool. We selected this hotel specifically for pool use. The pool was not in service, we were not offered a discount either. This Hotel was much more expensive than nicer Hotels in the area without a pool. We wouldn't have stayed there if we knew the pool was not in operation.
Loved the kitchen with stove, oven, fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. It was equipped with some cutlery, dishes, can opener and few pots & pans. Had 2 separate rooms for privacy and 1 shared bathroom. Mom travelling with 20 YO son. We peach had our own TV. Very convenient.
Great hotel. Took awhile to find
Place is old run down and the pic make the room look bigger then they are! The AC was noisy like a diesel motor! I booked a kitchen room and didn’t want to give it and they finally gave me the worst room in the place. My girl forgot her key card and they weren’t nice to her…Be a last resort place to book, nothing in the area.
It was ok, lacking ironing board, hair dryer. Pool was empty.
Room outdated ,very small ,no outlets to plug in laptop or charge phone . had a micro wave that couldn't be plugged in to use
Horrible experience
The room has no soundproof at all. The facilities are aged and lack maintenance. Way overpriced. $170 a night. No kidding
My elderly mom couldn’t sleep and was coughing and sneezing every so often while staying in our room. Clearly there was something going on within our room because she wasn’t like this prior.
Clean
Good for the price.
Hiway noise was the only negative
good
Noise
Next time will request a room on the other side, not facing the highway. Would be quieter
Can’t wait till they open the pool!!!🏂💕
Best bed
It was fantastic, the staff was great, very friendly and provided great service with a smile. The bed was fantastic probably the most comfortable motel bed I have ever slept on.
never slept what so ever. Noise was beyond. Even with window closed train shook the property. Would definitely not recommend this hotel
Staff wasnt very nice nor helpful. Also the place is run down. For a super 8 the worst one I’ve stayed in. And I’m a trucker. Cleanliness TV size and channels. Just nothing was very good.
Its a bed to sleep in. The hotel is on a 4 lane highway next to double railroad tracks. Kamloops is a major train hub so they dont stop. If you're on the backside there's less noise, but feels more shady unfortunately as this part of the hotel is poorly lit.
Excellent
shower did not work.
