Great stay. Perfect hotel for tenerife

I recently stayed at Spring Hotel Vulcano for 5 nights and would like to share my experience. First, the positives: The breakfast is excellent, offering a wide variety of delicious options. The staff are incredibly friendly and service-minded, always ready to assist with a smile. The pool area is also very pleasant, providing a nice spot to relax and unwind. However, there are a few areas that need improvement. One major downside is the extra charge for using the safe in the room. This feels like an unnecessary way to extract more money from guests, as a room safe should be a standard amenity. Additionally, the rooms are poorly insulated, leading to significant noise issues. I could hear my neighbors coughing during the night, and the noise from the reception area was quite disruptive. Lastly, while the gym is adequate, it appears to be neglected. Several machines have visible rust, indicating a lack of proper maintenance. Overall, while there are some great aspects to Spring Hotel Vulcano, there are also areas that need attention to enhance the guest experience.

Disappointed

We stayed here last year and it was very good. This year wasn't as great. The bedsheets were poor quality, some of the staff were quite rude and you couldn't get wifi in the bedrooms, only in the lobby area. I don't think we'll be back.

Great environment not so great service

The hotel is impressive especially the entrance with seating in a jungle! The pools and sunbathing areas are kept in pristine condition and are a credit to the pool guys. The entertainment gent is a happy and inclusive person. Now to the disappointing bits; don’t expect to get in your room until after 3pm. For some reason the reception men are really arsey and when I asked for help with a cockroach and lizard in my room I felt the whole team were taking the piss out of me. The best on reception is the lady and even she seemed fed up when I asked for help with the extremely convoluted WiFi set up for your room - I may be old but I’m really clued up on computers and tech yet even I struggled with this!! The food was passable in the restaurant with good selections for breakfast and dinner but there wasn’t anything really good about the actual room - it was noisy, with s canteen feel and the brewing areas were not laid out well at all with constant bottlenecks queues for water, and a lack of teapots. Finally the bed in the bedroom was the best thing so I had s great nights sleep however the sheets were never changed the entire week I stayed which again was more disappointing than a genuine complaint. When you pay for 4-star but get service of 2-3 then it is disappointing. These are easy fixes in my opinion and I’d be happy to advice the hotel of them if they were open the listening to them without feeling I am being critical. This hotel is lovely but they clearly have a problem with a cockroach infestation which they acknowledged that they were already aware of but are not dealing with properly or seriously enough in my opinion. My own room on the ground floor and my friends room on the 7th floor which was a premium room both had cockroaches and they were running around the swimming pool area too. I think this hotel needs an urgent health and safety inspection and should have its Expedia recommended staus removed until a inspection is passed.

Hired a car and parking was not easy.

Relaxing holiday

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Spring Vulcano Hotel. A good choice of meals and very friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel. Great location. Only strange thing was booking the top terrace three days in advance and not allowing you to book on the day even if there was spaces.

Blast from the past

We stayed at this hotel 25 years ago, and chose it this time because of the location to the beach and airport, and it was reasonably priced. On arrival the room we booked wasnt available, we moved the next day, both rooms were not overly clean, and the floor in our second room wasnt cleaned all week, my feet were dirty going into the shower. The bar is nice and the entertainment is ok. The food served in the restaurant if you are on a normal diet, and eat most things is adequate. However, I am gluten free, and for the first four days none of the food as labelled which made life a little difficult. Chicken was cooked on the same grill as pork, this should not happen, not just because I am highly allergic, but on religious grounds too. I asked about gluten free bread and cereal at breakfast the first morning and was told they didnt have anything. I went to the supermarket and brought my own. It should have been out each morning as I wasnt the only one, I dont like to keep asking for it every morning, I was told one morning I could have a baguette, but notice others were given bread, but they were Spanish!!! The hotel is very nice, and staff are very friendly, but it will probably be another 25 years before I revisit this hotel.

The location is excellent with good access to other amenities in the area.There are numerous bars cafes locally. The hotel has its own bar which which shows musical entertainment and tribute acts which are shown in the local bars. The hotel restaurant is very good with a good variety of meals however it can get very crowded at peak times. Many of the guests are elderly but the staff are excellent and very patient with some. Disabled facilities are excellent at the hotel as they are in the resort. I will definitely return there.

Ok

It was my wife’s birthday and our anniversary but it was not acknowledged at check in but that’s ok the hotel is fine we stayed there back in 1998 it’s where we got engaged again that was mentioned but no response from the hotel the only thing we was unhappy with was that the gym and spa was closed though out our stay no mention about it when we checked in so very disappointed about that I mentioned it to reception on day two as I couldn’t find the gym they told me they had a fire the week before but didn’t think it would be a good idea to tell there customers overall ok but they lack a bit of care to there customers

High quality

Very clean hotel, great position and very helpful reception .

This hotel states it has been refurbished ? (rooms well used) Room: Room was cleaned daily, but the floor was dusty when we arrived 2 days afer the hotel had opened, double walk in shower, large tv, comfy beds, small balcony (3 people) Restaurant: Food was served to you from behind protective screens, we thought this was a good idea keeps the food more presentable and hygienic. Plenty of choice at breakfast and evening meal: Breakfast served Scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fried eggs, omlettes Bacon - Spanish , English Sausages - Spanish , English, German And much more options All staff in the restaurant worked so hard , they were all so freindly, polite and helpfull, they provided an excellent service however we fealt more staff was needed. Gym has a good variety of Technogym equipment, however no air conditioning Wifi was good all over the hotel 5 minute walk to veronicas strip Bad points: Pool area not cleaned daily Extra charges: Towel hire - 1e per day per towel Safe - 3e per day non refundable Mini fridge - 10e or its locked Tea and Coffee charge for restock UP Experience - 40e per day per person you can only book a minimum 3 days over 18s only Building work (jack hammer) going on outside the hotel monday - friday I booked the gym for the same time every day as they stated only 2 persons at any one time, but some days reception staff either double booked/didnt book

Had to change rooms but then ok original room had restaurants over the room also next room had children woh woke us up at 7.00 in the morning

Haven’t been back to this hotel since it was refurbished. Have nothing to criticise, everything from quality of the rooms, the excellent food, friendliness of the staff and the entertainment were everything we wanted from our holiday. We were especially impressed with the design and quality of the bedrooms and the public rooms.

The staff were excellent and first rate at customer service. The rooms were clean and spacious. The food was also excellent and a very varied choice, so that everyone could find something they liked, and catered to dietry needs. The UP rooftop was very good (we got to look round) but was fully booked when we tried to book in. The Spa was excellent and we had some treatments and used the spa a few times. We had to report the stream room not working, but this was fixed within the hour. The lifts, although there were 3, 2 only were working during out visit and this resulted in queues waiting for the lifts. We did not mind walking downstairs but could not walk up. The poolside loungers, although it says they cannot be reserved, were. We had to sit in a semi shaded area whilst there were empty beds with towels on that were not being used, but had been saved. The pool guard did not seem to care and told us there were beds available The hotel entertainment was awful !!

Nice break in the sun

Lovely hotel, clean and comfortable. Good service. The food is good on the whole although can sometimes lack a little later in the evening, but still not bad. Fitness facility is good, pool nice with no issues getting a sun-bed which was a nice change from other similar hotels. Great stay, will return.

Hotel is beautifully presented. The Up terrace is amazing and well worth the upgrade. Snacks on the Up terrace throughout the day were amazing. Staff were attentive to customer needs and nothing was too much trouble. I witnessed one lady being asked why she had not taken any snacks. When she said she hadn't liked anything she was asked what she would like and given a personal tray of snacks .

When I was booking , it shows the room included mini bar and safe , it didn’t saying it’s surcharge for both , but when I checkin , I’ve been told it’s €10 a day for mini bar , and €3 a day for the safe of I wanted to use it , it’s absolutely misleading consumer ! Also , the waiting staff in the restaurant are very unprofessional, have no word to discrib their rudeness , they don’t like to serve at all , especially to young people , also have racism on gender difference and nationality , I was absolutely shocking by their attitudes and manners , never ever had such bad servic in 4 star hotel before .

Hotel was nice, altho,fairly simple. Disappointed in pool because it was cold, even tho it was heated. But not very well, contrary to whst hotel told me in an email.

I stayed at the newly refurbished hotel for a week in October, it’s beautiful. Lovely rooms with comfy beds and choice of pillows. The bathroom has the best shower. A breakfast was great, lots of choice. Never had problems getting a sunbed. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We did upgrade to the rooftop UP experience which was amazing, would highly recommend.

Lovely clean Hotel,and friendly staff. Have stayed there a few times and have never been disappointed, however since it’s recent refurbishment it is even better. Well situated for beach and walks.

Lovely clean hotel, high quality & excellant food!

From our arrival at reception to leaving, staff were very helpful & cheerful. Room was great, massive tv and plenty of wardrobe room for clothes etc. Bathroom & shower very modern, again, fantastic hotel!

You Must Go !!

Fantastic hotel, brilliant hotel just five minutes walk from everything you need including a lovely beach. The hotel is completely renovated and parts including the spa and UP facility only within the last few weeks. Rooms are very modern with flat screen TV and large bathroom with rain shower. We upgraded to UP which gave you exclusive use of the hotel terrace with luxurious sun beds, jaccuzi and infinity pool. Free snacks at breakfast, lunch and afternoon and any named drinks free between 10 and 6. Well worth the money, I’m sure we actually saved money through doing this. Food was good although like all hotel food can get a little repetitive .Breakfast was particularly good with omelettes and fried eggs cooked to your liking. Staff were so helpful and accommodating even giving us a special cake to celebrate our anniversary. Will definitely return, I don’t think this hotel could improve other than perhaps proper double beds rather than two large twins.

Excellent hotel five mins from beach.

Lovely week in totally refurbished hotel. Very comfy beds and excellent shower. Large TV with English channels and sky news. Good choice of healthy foods, fruit veg etc and fish and meat every night. Beer 3,50 Euro punt and bottle house wine 13,50 Euro in hotel. Will return.

Comfort and relaxing. It is in a nice area- close to beaches, restaurants etc on a very low slope and all slopes have a ramp.

Terrible Experience

we arrived late and it was dark so early to bed, we awoke in the morning to the nose of a mobile crane at the end of our balcony lifting live loads over our heads with debries falling onto our balcony with this level of works still ongoing this wing of the hotel should never have been allowed to open , this room should never have been allocated complained to the reception totally ignored.

Poor quality considering it has just been refurbed

Not a great experience, the room I stayed in did not look finished, the tv had no cables so didn’t work, paint work was a bad quality, a few things in the room did not work, I personally finished off fitting the draws to the wardrobes as they were just falling out when you pulled them, pencil lines everywhere from tradesmen, shelve was broke and falling off the wall, like a building site in the day sitting by the pool listening to the sounds of breakers.. chop saws & grinders, also being woke up in the morning by tradesmen banging on the roof, but yes apart from that really good

Nice hotel, good food, close to a verry nice beach

Nice stay in this hotel, they offered us All-Inclusive instead of half-board (that we payed for), in compensation of the possible discomfort created by the renovation of the first 4 floors. There was no unpleasant situations, except the elevator not working for a few hours.

very friendly hotel where many return

Although bumped to their sister hotel for the first night, we were then compensated by being upgraded from half board to full board, which then included all drinks with meals. We were very happy with this. The hotel is closing at the end of tis month (March 2017) for a complete refurb.

Large, mediocre hotel largely for Senior packages.

3 star hotel not 4. Terrible lift system. Get a low room. Food reasonable but could be improved without much trouble .finding a table at 9 am tricky. Residents 95%. seniors . Good for invalids. Staff nice . Entertainment mostly ok. Bar prices on the high side. Tv has lots of channels but not Sky sports About 500m from seafront.

Central Position

Very good hotel. Food excellent. Suitable for older couples/singles. Near to buses and plenty of shops, restaurants etc. Always able to get a table and dishes cleared from table frequently. We needed a small repair in our room and this was attended to immediately. The hotel does, however, need a refurbishment but is closing early summer for this purpose. Excellent stay.

Good Hotel with friendly and welcoming staff.

A 6-day break on half-board at a hotel we know We experienced the same high standard o f service and attendance. We also received a discount on our final bill as ongoing customers.

As a returner, always find the hotel is good as always. Look forward to seeing the refurb next year.

THIRD VISIT TO HOTEL

LETS START WITH THE FOOD - STILL A FANTASTIC SELECTION AT BREAKFAST TIME AND MAIL MEAL TIMES APPEARED TO BE A DIFFERENT SELECTION EACH NIGHT WONDERFUL. ROOMS CLEAN AND TIDY ALTHOUGH OUR AIR CONDITIONING WAS NOT AS GOOD AS IT SHOULD BE NOISY AND NOT WORKING VERY GOOD. HOTEL STAFF BRILLIANT AT THE POOLSIDE IN THE BAR OR WHEREVER THERE WAS A NEED FOR THEM. ENTERTAINMENT QUITE GOOD MOST NIGHTS. WE HAD A POOLSIDE VIEW AND WAKE ABOUT 6.45 MOST MORNINGS TO SEE PEOPLE WALKING AROUND IN SEMI LIGHT PUTTING TOWELS ON THE SUN BEDS, WE USED TO LAUGH AT THE GERMANS BUT IT HAPPENED EVER DAY OF OUR STAY. DUE FOR A REFERB SOON CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK YET AGAIN TO A WELL DESERVED 4 STAR HOTEL.

Fabulous hotel

Great holiday overall. Check in was smooth, room was perfect, food was excellent, daytime activities kept the whole family entertained (if we wanted!) staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again

Very friendly and helpful staff with one exception, who insisted we had been told to return the safe key when, in fact, we hadn't and reluctantly returned the 10 euros deposit.

excellent hotel, near to all amenities..

all over an excellent hotel , from the lovely room, the food excellent and all staff very friendly and the swimming pool was very comfortable to sit round, the bar and entertainment was very good.. five stars all round..

Good position, good staff, terrible wifi

Location and food are very good. Staff in all departments are very helpful. The wifi reception is terrible. No connection in the first week of our stay. We, and many guests we spoke to, had to go out to other bars to get the Internet. Management please note that you are losing trade by guests having to go elsewhere in the evening! Most people want to connect to the Internet! Even older guests! Also, a director of the hotel, in the restaurant in the evening with his wife and son, was constantly on his mobile- and his wife - at the table. Not a good example to their son. I saw very few guests using their mobiles during dinner. Second week Internet improved but not everyone in the hotel was able to connect to it.

Nice Hotel, good staff

We normally use this hotel at xmas, but we have just had 11 days their, we noticed the food had improved since last Christmas. Comments had been left with the hotel at Christmas. The entertainment needs upgrading, as some of the acts have been performing their each week for more than two years. But after saying that the hotel is very good, and a lovely place to holiday. The staff are second to none.

Lovely stay!

This is a review on behalf of my parents who stayed here for a week. They were very happy with the hotel and its facilities. The half board breakfast and dinner buffet was suitably varied for vegetarian options. The room was comfy, clean and of a good size. This is a no children hotel which can be both a good and a bad thing. My folks weren't too bothered though. Things that were not so good given the 4* rating include: 1) no bottled water on arrival or in the rooms 2) no free tea and coffee making facilities in the room, it costs €4 a day! 3) slightly rude and unhelpful staff on reception 4) and a daily charge to use the safe in the room 5) only get free wifi in reception and not in the rooms. I'd expect an established 4* hotel to have mastered these items.

Top hotel

We went to the Hotel Vulcano for the first time and was not disappointed, it lived up to all the things I had read about it. The standard of cleanliness was extremely high in all areas, and the rooms were super clean. The food offering was over and above what I would expect for a 4 star hotel, the variety and choice was excellent, and there was something for every pallet, one thing I thought needed attention was the vegetarian menu, which was not exciting or interesting enough. The hotel had entertainment if you wished and everyone who went enjoyed the shows. It is very central to everywhere in Playa Des Americas and the beach was a 5 min stroll away. Well done Vulcano will definitely return for another visit. You have staff to be proud of.

Vulcano Hotel

We had a lovely stay in the Vulcano Hotel. However we would have preferred to have had the option of availing of Bed and Breakfast only on Hotels.com but this option wasn't available to us. The pool are was very comfortable and there were plenty of sunbeds available. The hotel is situated in a convenient and central location.

Efficiently run, comfortable hotel

We chose to stay at the Vulcano because it had good ratings, which were well deserved. The service was excellent; the staff helpful and obliging. Had it been a little warmer (it was cooler than average for the time of year) we'd have used the pool. Our room was changed to a quieter one at our request. The special Valentine's meal was excellent and the overall quality and variety of the food was very good. If one wanted designer shops, there were plenty in the town. We preferred to see as much of the island as possible in our hire car, rather than mooching around town.

Worst hotel ever. Don't waste your money.

One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. At the beginning, I took around 25 minutes for check-in since they had an issue with their computers and then with their credit card machines. The room is so old, rusty and smells bad. We purchased a half-board plan, but the food was just terrible so we decided to eat outside. I wish we hadn't stayed in this hotel.

Great hotel close to amenities

We had an enjoyable stay. The weather was perfect, the food delicious and the the friendliness of the everyone made our stay a wonderful experience. We are definitely coming back for more relaxation, good food and some warm weather.

Convenient for beach and well run hotel

This hotel had a mostly older age group and it can be disconcerting to see a blood pressure monitor and seat to lower people into the pool but disregarding that it has nice rooms, good food and entertainment Drinks a little pricey but nice surroundings

Excellent hotel for child free relaxing holiday

Having stayed at this hotel last year in July we decided to go back for a week early September. We were'nt disappointed & enjoyed it just as much as last year. In fact it had improved as last year people were placing towels on sunbeds early morning & not using them until late morning or maybe afternoon. However, this year the lifeguard takes any towels on sunbeds where they are not in use, bags them up & people have to go to ask for them back. Great improvement. Weather was great, only one day was cloudy, lots of sunbeds, good size pool where you can actually swim! Close to bars, restaurants, shops & beach. Generally attracts older people, particularly as they make wheelchair access easy. Had various entertainment each evening for approx 1 hour, often a singer or band. Personally I wasn't so keen on the resident musician who played a keyboard.

Wonderful!

We have just returned from what was a wonderful experience. This hotel had everything you could wish for then some more. The staff were unfailingly helpful and pleasant, the food eye-poppingly good and the accommodation and entertainment were first class. A special mention should be given the hardworking gardeners and groundstaff who kept the pool areas and the surrounding gardens in immaculate condition making it a joy to stay here.

Wirklich ein sehr schönes Hotel mit tollem Badebereich und alles wichtige Fußläufig erreichbar. Zimmer sehr sauber, Essensbuffet reichhaltig und für jeden etwas dabei. Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Unbedingt dazu Buchen: die Dachterrasse. Top Blick und sehr ruhig. Werde dort das nächste mal wieder buchen.

I would like to express my dissatisfaction regarding the conditions of the room I am staying in. Unfortunately, I have noticed the presence of cockroaches in the room, which is completely unacceptable. Additionally, the spring mattress is quite uncomfortable and does not meet quality expectations. Overall, the room is far below the expected standard, especially considering the daily rate being charged. I hope these issues are addressed urgently and that the hotel takes the necessary steps to ensure a clean, comfortable environment that aligns with the price.

Dásamlegt að dvelja á þessu hóteli. Fullkominn morgunverður, lagt mikið upp úr fjölbreytileikanum. Kvöldverður inn sérlega gróður og aldrei það sama. Aðstaðan við sundlaugina mjög góð, alltaf bekkir til að leggjast á. Goð aðstaða til að slaka á þarna. Staðsetningin er algjörlega frábær. Stutt í alla þjónustu, goða göngutúra, verslanir, veitingastaði eða niður að strönd. Rúmin var að okkar mati ekki sérlega goð en það var það eina sem eitthvað væri hægt að setja út á.

Stort hotell med bra läge och bra rum. Stort utbud av smaklösa maträtter men bra ostbuffé till varje middag. Bra poolområde! Hotellets största nackdel var baren! Där man normalt träffar andra människor där satt alla i en lång rad vilket var otroligt tråkigt. inget bra hotell om man åker ensam och vill träffa andra. Detta hotell inhyser till 80% äldre brittiska gäster

Struttura eccellente, camera ampia, pulita e silenziosa, gradito il kit the e caffe presente in camera. Altrettanto belle le piscine esterne con ampia disponibilità di lettini e zona bar gradevole. Colazione internazionale con ampia offerta di qualsiasi tipo.

4 Sterne absolut gerechtfertigt!

Das 1.mal in diesem Hotel. Alles super. Essen für alle etwas dabei. Morgenbuffet grosse Klasse. Der beheizte Aussenpool top. Wir hatten eine grosse Terrasse mit Dusche, Tisch, Stühle und 2 Liegebetten. Das Schlafzimmer geräumig mit guten Matratzen. Nicht zu hart und nicht zu weich. Eine begehbare grosse Dusche. Sehr freundliches, präsentes Personal. Sehr gute Lage. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis top. Wir kommen wieder.
